Intro
Hassan Odeh began doubting Ahmadiyya in 1987, since he knew that Ahmadi Maulvi’s and the inner circle of the 4th Khalifa to be bad people. The Mubahila with Zia and the ensuing false propaganda also effected him a great deal. By 1989, he quit Ahmadiyya, by 1990, his brother quit.

He was born in 1955, he is a second generation Ahmadi from Kababir. He was the first ever Qadiani-Ahmadi born in Kababir to become a missionary for the Ahmadiyya Movement. He became an ex-Ahmadi in the 1990’s and wrote about his experiences. Hassan Bin Mahmood Odeh tells us that his maternal grandfather was the first ever person in his family to convert to Ahmadiyya, his name was Abdul Qadir Bin Salih Al-Odeh (in 1928). Hassan Bin Mahmood Odeh then tells is how his paternal grandfather was the second person in his family to convert to Ahmadiyya, his name was Al-Haj Ahmad Bin Abdul Qadir Al-Odeh. Thus, both of his male grandparents were converts to Ahmadiyya. His father is named Mahmood (just like the 2nd Khalifa), and he was the Ameer of Kababir for many years (most likely 1970’s). Hassan Bin Mahmood Odeh has 2 brothers, Ahmad and Salih (See page 12).

In the 1970’s, he had moved to Sweden, and it seems that his brother Ahmad Odeh was also there as well as their father, it’s unclear if Salih was there. He met the 3rd Khalifa in 1976 and 1978 and became intimately close to the 3rd Khalifa and his notorious sons, Mirza Anas Ahmad, Mirza Farid Ahmad and Mirza Luqman Ahmad. In 1979, he decided to devote his life to Ahmadiyya and was sent to Qadian for Jamia training. He was a moosi (someone who pays 10% chanda and will give 33% of their assets to the jamaat when they die).

In his book, Hassan Odeh mentioned how he worked closely with the 4th Khalifa at Tilford in the UK. He also worked closely with the 4th Khalifa’s inner circle (1986–1989) and noticed that they lacked qualities of goodness and virtue. At the same time, Hassan Odeh said that he observed that the 4th Khalifa was making mistakes with reading the Quran/hadith, “he didn’t have command of Arabic”, and that the member of the Mirza family lacked Taqwa and most had sold their soul to the Khalifa like rabbits. Hassan Odeh tells us that in 1989, as the second century of Ahmadiyya dawned, the 4th Khalifa gave a sermon on March 23rd, 1989 and announced that he had received a revelation and then read the revelation and then made a mistake and quickly changed the revelation (See page 76). This really shook Hassan Odeh. Hassan Odeh also mentions how Mirza Tahir Ahmad was always in search of New Ahmadi’s and specifically from the Arab world and was targeting young Arab men who were in the UK and seeking a work visa or educational visa (See page 78). Hassan Odeh explains how he came in contact with young arab men and they quickly accepted Ahmadiyya without asking many questions. Hassan Odeh claims that the conversions to Ahmadiyya were mutual, the arabs needed visa’s and Mirza Tahir Ahmad needed converts. Hassan says that after he left ahmadiyya, he confirmed that all of these young arab men had only converted to ahmadiyya for self-interest. He was also there for the Mubahila vs. Zia ul Haq and the famous prophecy of Mirza Tahir Ahmad about “Friday the 10th”. The Mubahila was also published in the Arabic magazine, “Al-Taqwa”. When Zia died, the 4th Khalifa was shocked and he thought that many people would join Ahmadiyya as a result of this, however, that didn’t happen. In fact, Zia had never accepted any Mubahila from Mirza Tahir Ahmad, nor did he ever know of it. However, many ulema from Pakistan had accepted it and has sent letters to the 4th Khalifa asking for a place to meet him and etc., however, Mirza Tahir Ahmad never even answered them. Thus, the Mubahila vs. Zia ul Haq and the propaganda that ensued also was a huge factor in Hassan Odeh leaving Qadianism.

We have written extensively about Ahmadiyya in Kababir, Haifa, Israel. We wanted to add one more piece research information to our blog. We have found and posted a book by Hassan Bin Mahmood Odeh, who is an ex-Ahmadi from Kababir, Haifa, Israel. He is from the famous Odeh family. In 1986, under Mirza Tahir Ahmad, he worked as the “Director-General” of the Arabic section of the Ahmadiyya Movement. He had also lived in Qadian and had learned Urdu and thus was able to read directly from the books of MGA. Read about Hani Tahir and Ikrami Najami herein.

By 1990, Ahmad Odeh (Hassan Bin Mahmood Odeh’s brother) officially quit Ahmadiyya.

On Jan-20-1986, he moves to the UK with his wife and kids and begins working under the 4th Khalifa, he immediately establishes the “Arabic Section” of the Ahmadiyya Community. The 4th Khalifa moves Hassan Odeh to Tilford (the newly bought piece of land out in the country, in 2023, it’s the headquarters). One of the main objectives of the “Arabic Section” was to contact other arab Ahmadi’s and help them do tabligh. Hassan Odeh’s official position was ‘Director-General of the Arabic Section”.

He also came up with tabligh strategies, mostly for the arab world. He was also given a few additional workers for his “Arabic section”, they are: Sheikh Mustafa Sabit (from Egypt) and Sheikh Ahmad Abu Sardana (from Gaza). However, soon thereafter, Mirza Tahir Ahmad received negative letters about Sheikh Ahmad Abu Sardana (from Gaza) and immediately kicked him out of the UK. Sheikh Ahmad Abu Sardana (from Gaza) was asked by Mirza Tahir Ahmad to work as a freelance ahmadi missionary in Gaza. By 2000, Sheikh Ahmad Abu Sardana (from Gaza) has no connection with Ahmadi’s.

He continued to live in Tilford and continued with his work on the “Arabic Section of the Ahmadiyya Community”. He taught refresher courses to Ahmadi Maulvi’s. He also mentions how Usman the Chinese Ahmadi was also living at Tilford. In 1966 Muhammad Osman Chou, an Ahmadi Muslim missionary who grew up in AnhuiChina, was transferred to Singapore in April 1966. During his term, which lasted 3 years, he translated a number of Ahmadiyya books into Mandarin, including, The Philosophy of the Teachings of Islam and Ahmadiyyat, the True Islam.[5]

1988

He continued to live in Tilford and continued with his work on the “Arabic Section of the Ahmadiyya Community”. The name “Al-Taqwa” is chosen for the Arabic magazine that he is working on. Hassan Bin Mahmood Odeh is the editor in chief, the first ever issue was published on May 1st, 1988.

Hassan Bin Mahmood Odeh mentions how the pioneer of Qadiani jamaat in Syria has died (Munir Al-Husni).

He mentions how his father’s (Mahmood Odeh) application for HAJJ was declined by the Saudi Government, since Mahmood Odeh emphatically told them that he is a Qadiani.

He mentions how Mirza Luqman Ahmad came and visited him at Tilford, with Mirza Tahir Ahmad.

1989

The editor of the ROR (Amatul Majeed Chaudhry) says that the Al-Taqwa magazine has already surpassed the ROR in circulation.

Hassan Bin Mahmood Odeh mentions how he began questioning Ahmadiyya in 1989. He was working with the administration for the 100-year of Ahmadiyya celebration scheduled on March 23rd, 1989 and he observed how self deluded Ahmadi’s were. Hassan Odeh was invited to a special celebration of 100-years of Ahmadiyya at the Grosvenor hotel, London. This facade and the amount of money spent by the Ahmadiyya Movement disgusted Hassan Odeh. After that celebration, another celebration was held at Tildford and all Ahmadi’s there renewed their bait at the hand of the 4th Khalifa, except Hassan Odeh, he refused to do so (quietly it seems).

As soon as Ahmadiyya entered its 2nd century (March 1989), Hassan Odeh was on the verge of leaving it. Hassan shared his beliefs with his friends and acquaintances that visited Tilford. Hassan says he told the new convert Arab’s at Tilford about his doubts and they soon left Ahmadiyya. Hassan gave a Friday sermon on May 26th at Tilford wherein he asked questions about the Mubahila va. Zia ul Haq. Thus, on June 8th, 1989, Hassan Odeh was getting investigate by Mirza Tahir Ahmad and a group of elders that he had appointed. This council of elders reported to the 4th Khalifa (Mirza Tahir Ahmad) that Hassan had issues with MGA and his dealings with Muhammadi Begum. Thus, on June 9th, 1989, the 4th Khalifa (Mirza Tahir Ahmad) ordered Hassan Odeh to leave Tilford and the UK altogether and to return to Kababir, Haifa, Israel and await further instructions. Hassan had 3 kids, a wife and new baby due in a month.

Hassan Odeh refused to leave Tilford as such and demanded his travel money so that he could use it properly. The AMAUK immediately withdrew its sponsorship of Hassan Odeh and his wife and kids. Hassan asked ot stay until August, since his daughter had broke her arm and needed medical attention and a newborn son on the way. At that time, his wife was not on board with quitting Ahmadiyya and he feared that he might lose her.

Hassan Odeh had called his father on June 10th, 1989 and told him what was going on, his father responded that Ahmadi’s may be bad, however, the beliefs were good. Hassan was able to speak to his father, furthermore, his 2 elder brothers and wife (and many friends) were willing to listen to him, which was a good sign. Soon thereafter, Hassan Odeh’s family had a meeting in Haifa to discuss this matter in detail and decided to send Ahmad Odeh (who was in Haifa at the time, visiting from Sweden)(President of the entire jamaat in Sweden) to meet the 4th Khalifa. Thus, he arrived in London on Friday, June 16th, 1989. However, very abruptly, they were told that the 4th Khalifa was not home, and out on tour. Ahmad Odeh visited Tilford, the phone was turned off for Hassan Odeh, thus, they had barely any contact with the outside world. The inhabitants of Tilford stopped greeting Hassan Odeh and his family. Ahmad Odeh stayed for 6 days in the UK and finally returned to Haifa. Ahmad Odeh saw the ill treatment at Tilford and wrote a scathing letter to Mirza Tahir Ahmad, then, about 8 months later, he quit Ahmadiyya via a letter to Mirza Tahir Ahmad on Feb-15-1990 from Sweden. His other brother Salih Odeh quit Ahmadiyya on January 9th, 1990.

On July 17th, 1989, Hassan Odeh left Tilford with the help of some Muslims. On July 21st, 1989, Hassan Odeh, at the Slough masjid, with his wife and kids accepted Islam! On July 26th, 1989, his youngest daughter was born. He met Manzoor Ahmad Chinioti and began working with him in the UK and Scotland, giving speeches and etc. He went to many conferences and did lots of work vs. Qadianism.

In Oct of 1989, Hassan’s wife got lots of letters from Qadian urging to return to Qadian with her kids and leave Hassan altogether. He has a photo with Bashir Ahmad Masri in his book and met him in the UK in 1989. 2 Ahmadi’s came from Haifa unannounced and met with Hassan Odeh. An urdu newspaper “Millat” reported his leaving Ahmadiyya.

On Dec-9th-1989, Mirza Tahir Ahmad delivered a Friday sermon which was totally about Hassan Odeh.

1990

His brother Salih Mahmood Odeh quit Ahmadiyya on January 9th, 1990, 3 days later he made his announcements in the Qadiani mosque in Kababir. About a month later, Ahmad Odeh (Hassan Bin Mahmood Odeh’s brother) officially quit Ahmadiyya too, he quit Ahmadiyya via a letter to Mirza Tahir Ahmad on Feb-15-1990 from Sweden. Kamal Yousaf was the Ahmadi Maulvi in Sweden at the time. Ahmad Odeh sent him his letter of resignation (Oct-1990).

Hassan Odeh says that after he quit Ahmadiyya, the Ahmadiyya Movement began publishing material against him and as to why he quit Ahmadiyya. Hassan Odeh also brought up the fact that MGA lied and said that via sahih hadith, the messiah was supposed to appear in the 14th century.

He continues working in and around London vs. Qadianiat. He meets Bawa and many others. His brother-in-law, Hamid Chaudhry comes to visit him.

His uncle, Nasir Odeh dies in Syria, he was apparently, the most active Ahmadi in Syria.

In Dec-1990, Hassan Odeh publishes a new magazine entitled, “Attaqwa”, which was similar to the name of the Arabic magazine that he published with the Qadiani’s. He wanted to discuss Qadiani issues in it.
