Intro
Mirza Ghulam Ahmad called him as Mian Ahmad Noor in “Tadhkiratu-Shahadatain”(1903)–English translation of 1984 (the post script, not the original book). In this book, MGA claims that the “2-goat prophecy” was meant to be about Mian Abd-ur-Rahman and Maulawi Muhammad Abdul Latif (aka Syed Abdul Latif). However, a few years earlier, MGA had claimed that the “2-goat prophecy” was about Ahmad Baig and his son-in-law, Sultan Muhammad.

He is also referred to as Syed Ahmad Noor Kabuli, he famously told the world that he helped carry the casket of MGA from Brandereth Road in Lahore to the Lahore train station. Then from Batala to Qadian via foot. He wrote about this entire story in 1921, via his book, “Eye witness account of sahibzada Abdul Latif”, in urdu as “Shaheed Marhoom Ke Chashm deed waqiat”, Part 1 and 2 and portions of Part-1 were also published in the ROR of March-April-May 1922 in english.

In 1938-1939, Bhai Abdur Rahman Qadiani was instructed by Mirza Bashir Ahmad to collect additional information on the last days of MGA. He came back with a long 9+ page story which spoke about Syed Ahmad nur Kabuli drinking water out of MGA’s coffin, this story also talks about the events at the train station. It seems that this appeared in the 3rd edition of Seeratul Mahdi was carried forward, all the way to the 2008 edition (which is the 4-5th edition of SM).

This Syed Ahmad Noor Kabuli eventually claimed prophethood and was most likely ex-communicated by the Khalifa. Adil Hussain Khan mentioned how Syed Ahmad Nur Kabuli even had his nose cut off while imprisoned. Ahmadiyya sources go on to say that he was crazy.

Fast forward to 2017, the Ahmadiyya movement publishes : “The Martyr”, which seems to have a chapter by Ahmad Noor Kabuli. It also gives a narrative by Maulvi Abdul Sattar Shah.

MGA’s death story

In this book, “Eye witness account of sahibzada Abdul Latif”, in urdu as “Shaheed Marhoom Ke Chashm deed waqiat”, Part 1 and 2.

It is important to note that MGA even said that he thought he had cholera, as reported by his father-in-law, Mir Nasir Nawab. Many newspapers and independent researchers wrote the same. Noorudin, the new Khalifa was faced with this issue early on and told Ahmadi’s that even if MGA did die of cholera, death by cholera was considered martydom in his version of Islam.

1903

MGA mentioned him in “Tadhkiratu-Shahadatain”(1903)–English translation of 1984. However, not in the original edition, it seems to have been added later, we are unsure when.

“””Mian Ahmad Noor, a favourite and trusted disciple of Hazrat Sahibzada Maulvi Abdul Latif, arrived at Qadian on 8th November 1903 from Kohat together with all the members of his family. He has stated that the body of the Maulvi Sahib was left under the heap of stones for forty days on the spot where he was stoned. Then during the dead of night I, together with some of my friends, went and quietly took out the sacred body from under the stones and brought it secretly to the town. Although there was great risk of our being caught by the retainers of the Amir, owing to cholera raging as epidemic in the town, everyone was preoccupied with his own woes and worries. We, therefore, observed the burial rites calmly and took the body to the graveyard and buried it reverently. The amazing fact is that when we took out the body from under the stones, it sent forth a perfume like musk and everyone was greatly astonished.”””
