Mirza Ghulam Ahmad and Muqamat Al-Hariri

Intro
MGA had a team of writers, these writers would plagiarize all the time.  In the below, I have collected all data on MGA and his team and how they plagiarized from Muqamat Al-Hariri.  Our fellow Arab Ex-Ahmadi’s have exposed this in their writings, see Hani Tahir and Ikrima Najabi.
Brother Hani Taher and other Arab reverts have pointed out that Mirza Ghulam Qadiani’s famous Khutba Ilhamiyya does contain text from Al-Hariri’s Muqamat.  In this case, and all others, Ahmadi editors have tried to present things “after-the-fact”, and thus twist up the timeline of events.  We have, however, presented a true timeline in the below.  MGA barely knew any Arabic, all of the Imam’s of India knew this.  However, MGA would have his team write in Arabic on his behalf and thus fool people.  Another Ex-Ahmadi-arab, Ikrama Najami has recently highlighted lots of plagiarism here.  The black font is the original text of the Hariri, and blue coloured fonts are the stolen wording and phrases from the Hariri between (Brackets) and the name of the Mirza book that he used it after – this sign.  You can see clearly, that sometimes he used the same stolen wording in more that 5 times in his Arabic books.  ملف المقامات منشور – حتى 30 وورد (1)

It all started in 1897 with Hariri
Maulavi ‘Abdul Haq Ghaznavi wrote a poster against the MGA in which he raised the objection and challenged the knowledge of Arabic of MGA, and invited to hold a contest in Arabic with him so that the question could be established who knew Arabic better. MGA immediately accepted the offer of a contest and said that since he had no knowledge of Arabic and that he was an illiterate according to Maulavi ‘Abdul Haq Ghaznavi, if as a result of the contest he was overwhelmed in the debate, which would be nothing short of a miracle of God, then the Maulavi would have to offer his hand in bai‘at and join the Ahmadiyyah Jama‘at. Maulavi ‘Abdul Haq Ghaznavi and his friend, Shaikh Najfi, a Shia, remained silent and refused to honour his own invitation to hold a contest (see Hidden Treasures of Islam, pages 193-195).

MGA and his team then wrote Hujjatulla (God’s Final Argument) in Arabic with an Urdu translation (he began on March 17, 1897 and completed on May 26, 1897)
MGA then asked his opponents, particularly Maulavi ‘Abdul Haq Ghaznavi and Shaikh Najfi, (both had written letters to MGA and made assertions that he did not know Arabic) and Maulavi Muhammad Hussain Batalavi, to produce a book at least comparable to his Arabic and produce the like of it in the same manner within three or four months, then they can treat me as a liar.Further, they were welcome to enlist aid from anyone in producing a book of similar size, using prose and poem and invite Professor Maulavi ‘Abdullah or any one scholar who can swear that their written book was superior or even equal to mine in quality and the scholar swearing in such manner will be seized by divine punishment within 41 days, then if he survives I will burn all my books and will seek repentance on their hands, this will settle daily bickering between me and them and if they do not advance to accept the challenge then their falsehood would be exposed to public. He allowed them to appoint a professor of Arabic to act as a judge and let him make his award under solemn oath. MGA said if the adjudicator declared that the work of his opponents was superior to his, he would pray to God and if the judge was not then overtaken by the wrath of God within a period of 41 days, he would burn all his books and stand condemned. But no one had the courage to accept this daring challenge.

In this book, which bore the title of Hujjatullah, MGA spoke of the various signs which his God had shown in his favour. He also pointed out the error of his Shia opponents. In a graphic and eloquent manner he explained that the Shia beliefs were not right, because the Caliphs, Hadrat Abu Bakrra, Hadrat ‘Umar and Hadrat ‘Uthman, were the rightful Caliphs and Hadrat ‘Ali had acknowledged them so. (see Hidden Treasures of Islam, pages 193-195).

After Hujjatullah was published
MGA’s critics allege that several sentences and paragraphs in this text are taken directly without alteration, from Maqamat al-Hariri, the best known poetry collection of the Arabic scholar and poet Al-Hariri of Basra.  For this reason, his claim to divine instruction in Arabic is not accepted in Islamic Orthodoxy. Ahmadis, however, claim that the alleged instances of plagiarism are not true because Mirza Ghulam Ahmad had deliberately inserted the writings of Al-Hariri with his own and then openly declared that he had done as such as a challenge to his critics to compare and separate the two. His followers claim that as clearly stated by him in the beginning of his book Hujjatullah it was only after his use of Arabic was labelled inadequate, ungrammatical and ‘unchaste’ by his opponents that Ghulam Ahmad deliberately amalgamated his own writings with that of Al-Hariri‘s in order to expose his adversaries; whom he called upon to distinguish between his writings and that of Al-Hariri’s.

A quote from Hujjatullah
“””Thus the method which will free the people from his deception is that we present to him paragraphs from our writing and some other paragraphs from the writings of a great Arab writer while concealing the names of the authors, and then call upon him to tell us which paragraph out of this is ours and which is theirs, if you are truthful. Then if he recognizes my sayings and theirs and distinguishes between them as between a shell and its kernel, then we shall give him fifty rupees as a reward.”””

– Hujjatulla, pg. 4-5

By 1903, MGA considered himself as Hujjatulla
Interestingly enough, by 1903, MGA was calling himself as the Hujjatulla.

“”””Hadrat Hujjatullah [The Promised Messiah] may peace and blessings be on him, supplicated at Gurdaspur for those of his friends who were present there and also collectively for those who were not present. He prayed by name for those who were present or whose name he recalled, and also collectively for all members of the Jama‘at, whereupon he
received the revelation:

[Arabic] Then good news for the believers.

al-Hakam, vol. 7, no. 46, 47, December 17, 24, 1903, p. 15]

After MGA died, Ahmadi’s lied about MGA’s Arabic abilities

Maulana ‘Abdul-Karimra said: Hadrat Maulavi Hakim Nurud- Dinra…had started the construction of a large house in Bhera…. The construction had not yet been completed…when one day in the winter Maulavi [Hakim Nur-ud-Dinra] arrived in Qadian for a brief meeting with the Promised Messiahas. The same night the Promised Messiahas received a revelation (350) which indicated that Maulavi [Hakim Nur-ud-Dinra] should migrate to Qadian. Next morning he informed him of this and suggested that he should emigrate to Qadian and should not return home. This faithful one made no excuse. The house remained unfinished but this man of God did not go back. [Address of Maulana ‘Abdul-Karimra, al-Hakam, vol. 6, no. 32, September 10, 1902, p. 11].

349—

350--Hadrat Khalifatul Masih Ira mentioned this revelation in his autobiography which he dictated to Akbar Najib Abadi as following:

The Promised Messiahas told Maulavi ‘Abdul-Karimra: I have received a revelation concerning Nur-ud-Din. It is in the form of a couplet in the poem of Hariri:

[Do not go back to your homeland. You will face humiliation and suffering there.]
[Mirqatul-Yaqin Fi Hayate Nur-ud-Din]

See Page 1020

April 2, 1893 (1229)
The Promised Messiahas mentioned to Maulavi ‘Abdul- Karimra one day that he had received a revelation:
1230
[Arabic] [Do not be inclined towards your home, in that there are humiliation and trials.]

The Promised Messiah[as] said:

It appears that this revelation has reference to Nur-ud-Din.
[Appendix al-Badr, vol. 8, no. 40, July 29, 1909, p. 77 and Mirqatul-Yaqin FiHayat-e-Nur-ud-Din, p. 169].

1229– Note by Maulana Abdul Latif Bahawalpuri: This date is recorded in the Jaibi Bayad of Hadrat Khalifatul Masih Ira, but it does not record the year. However, we have entered 1893 here because it can be established based on firm evidence. For this reason we have entered it under this year. [See Tarikh-e-Ahmadiyyat, vol. 1, p. 494, new ed., under the heading Faith Inspiring Event of the Migration of Maulana Nur-ud-Dinra]

1230 —Note by Syed Abdul Hayee: The Jaibi Bayad of Hadrat Khalifatul Masih Ira, page 149, records it as following: [Arabic] Do not be inclined towards your home, you will be treated with injustice and will face trials; And adds to it the next couplet of Hariri: [Arabic] Remember, a man of his own mind suffers a loss in his country.

After MGA died, Nuzul ul Masih was published (1909)
Ahmadiyya sources tell us that this was written in 1902 and published in 1909.  This book tells us how MGA’s opponents, specifically Pir Mehr Ali Shah were accusing MGA of plagiarizing from Hariri.

Maulvi Muhammad Ahsan Amrohi
“”Maulawi Muhammad Ahsan Sahib had a hasty nature. Once out for a walk with the Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) he misheard the Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) when he said there is a difference between word of God and word of man and said this is a revelation of mine compared to revelation of Hariri (an academic). Ahsan Sahib remarked how frivolous it was but as soon as he realised his mistake he instantly said what fine words they were.””  Friday Sermon of Mirza Masroor Ahmad, 7-24-15

In Mujadid-e-Azam, at page 337 Dr. Basharat
While giving detail of Molvi Nuruddin ,s shifting to Qadian, he writes that “Hazrat sahib told Molvi Abdul Karim that I have received a revelation about Molvi Nuruddin as under:-

لا تصبون الی الوطن۔ فیہہ تھان و تمتحن
In next lines the author says this couplet is present in AL-HARIRI.

Rashid Rida vs. Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (1901-1903 era)

Intro
He was an islamic scholar from Egypt and lived from 1865 to 1935.  Rida was born near Tripoli in Al-Qalamoun, (now in Lebanon but then part of Ottoman Syria within the Ottoman Empire). His early education consisted of training in “traditional Islamic subjects”. In 1884–5 he was first exposed to al-`Urwa al-wuthqa, the journal of Jamal al-Din al-Afghani and Muhammad Abduh.  In 1897 he left Syria for Cairo to collaborate with Abduh. The following year Rida launched al-Manar, a weekly and then monthly journal comprising Quranic commentary[9] at which he worked until his death in 1935, gradually distancing himself from the teachings of Abduh and adopting a Salafism closer to Saudi Wahhabism.[10]

Rashid Rida’s controversial beliefs
One of his controversial views was his support of Darwin’s theory of evolution.[13] To justify Darwinism, Rida considered it permissible to “interpret certain stories of the Qur’an in an allegorical manner, as, for example, the story of Adam.”.[14] He also believed that the origin of the human race from Adam is a history derived from the Hebrews and that Muslims are not obliged to believe in this account.[15]

Other controversial beliefs held by Rida included:
– His view that usury (riba) may be permitted in certain cases [16]
– His idea that building statues is permissible in Islam as long as there is no danger of their being devoted to improper religious uses.[17]
– His support of the British against the Ottomans [18]
– His view that “the minute living bodies which today have been made known by the microscope and are called microbes, may possibly be a species of Jinn[19]

His beef with MGA started in 1901
In MGA’s arabic only book, “I’jaz ul Masih”, he wrote about Rashid Rida as follows:

After Sheikh Mohammed Rashid Rida expressed his opinion on MGA’s book “إعجاز المسيح”, where he said that the non-arabic words and rhetoric are clear in it, MGA attacked Egypt, the Egyptians, their Arabism and their dialect.

MGA said:

“The Messenger of Allah and the Lord of الورى did not call your land [meaning Egypt] the land of the Arabs, so do not slander to Allah and His Messenger, the slanderous has been disappointed”.

MGA also said this about Rashid Rida
MGA depicted Riḍā as a “jealous” and “arrogant” scholar who, like many others, not only rejected the message, but fueled the dislike of Indian Muslims against him and his followers (See Salafiyya, Ahmadiyya and European converts during the inter war period (2016) )

1912, Rashid Rida comes to British-India
In 1912, Rashid Rida seems to have traveled to Lucknow, British-India and held a debate with the local Ahmadi’s there (see Salafiyya, Ahmadiyya and European converts during the inter war period (2016)).

Salafiyya, Ahmadiyya and European converts during the inter war period (2016)

“”””After MGA died and by 1923, in general, Riḍā agreed with Khwaja Kamal-ud-Dinʼs “friends” and followers in Egypt and considered him a “moderate” follower of the Ahmadiyya. In 1923, Lord Headley, Kamal-ud-Din, and Abdul Mohye, the Arab mufti of the Woking Mosque (the Arab press gave him the title of the Mufti of the English Lands), passed through Egypt on their way to hajj. The trip was covered in a favorable light in the Islamic press in Egypt, including al-Manār. In Egyptian newspapers, Kamal-ud-Din found a suitable opportunity to defend the Lahore branch
of the Ahmadiyya and their faith as being a trend close to “mainstream” Islam.  Riḍā was not able to meet them in order to discuss his doubts regarding the Ahmadiyya with Kamal-ud-Din in person. At this point, Riḍā found that Kamal-ud-Din’s consideration of Ghulam Ahmad as merely a “reformer” was a good step by the Lahore branch towards the “true” Islam (Al-Manār 24, no. 8 (Aug. 1923), 583).

Meanwhile, despite Riḍā’s appreciation of the Lahore Ahmadiyya missionary work in Europe, he was critical of their translation of the Qurʾān into English. The Lahore Ahmadiyya tried to circulate Mawlana Muḥammad ʿAlīʼs English translation of the Qurʾān in Egypt and Syria, but their attempt was resisted by the religious institution of al-Azhar, Riḍā himself, and his friend
Shaykh Muṣṭafā Najā (1852–1932), the mufti of Beirut. In his fatwā, Riḍā saw it as a “deviant” translation that contradicts the principles of Islam. He stated that the translation attempts to destroy Islam from within by disseminating the Ahmadiyya’s “false” doctrines on revelation and by abrogating Qurʾānic rulings, such as jihad (al-Manār 25, no. 10 (March 1925), 794–796).  In his view, Riḍā emphasized that Muḥammad ʿAlī intentionally distorted some verses related to the Messiah (al-masīḥ) in order to argue, based on these verses, that Ghulam Ahmad is the promised Messiah.  Riḍā urged Muslims not to rely on this translation, or on any other, to understand the Qurʾān, but rather to act according to its rulings in a direct manner.  However, Riḍā did believe that this translation and other Qurʾān translations could be used to invite non-Muslims to Islam, particularly those without knowledge of Arabic (al-Manār 29, no. 4 (July 1928), 268–271. See Mohamed Ali Mohamed Abou Sheishaa, “A
Study of the Fatwā by Rashid Riḍā on the Translation of the Qur’an,” Journal of the Society
for Qurʾānic Studies 1, no. 1 (Oct. 2001), available online: (http://www.islamicwritings.org/
quran/language/a-study-of-the-fatwa-by-rashid-rida-on-the-translation-of-the-quran/).
Cf. Moch Nur Ichwan, “Differing Responses to an Ahmadi Translation and Exegesis: The
Holy Qurʾān in Egypt and Indonesia,” Archipel 62 (2001): 143–161).

Riḍā’s tone was inconsistent. With regard to the differences between the Lahore and Qadiyani branches in matters of creed (ʿaqīda) and their religious work in Europe, Riḍā argued that the Lahore movement agrees with other Muslims in general, except in specific issues related to the death of Jesus and the abrogation of certain verses of the Qurʾān. Despite their “great” sacrifices for Islam in India and Europe, Riḍā finally concluded that the Ahmadis of both
branches were followers of falsehood (bāṭil) (al-Manār 28, no. 7 (Sept. 1927), 543–550).

Nevertheless, it is strange that Riḍā utterly dismissed Kamal-ud-Din from the Ahmadiyya movement. After Khawaja Kamal-ud-Din’s death, Riḍā eulogized him for his service for Islam in Europe. A brief biography of Kamal-ud-Din was soon published in al-Manār by Khwaja Abdul Ghani, secretary of the managing committee of the Woking Muslim Mission and Literary Trust in Lahore, as a token of appreciation. Riḍā considered Kamal-ud-Din “the greatest missionary to Islam” in their age. Through his mission, he provided a great service to Islam by converting many high-class British, the most refined of them being Lord Headley. Although Kamal-ud-Din was known as a “moderate” follower of the Ahmadiyya, Riḍā was told by many friends who were familiar with his work in Europe, that his activities and writings did not actually reflect any inclinations to the Ahmadiyya convictions as such (al-Manār 33, no. 2 (April 1933), 138).”””””

Shams-i-Bazigha by Mirza Ghulam Ahmad and Muhammad Ahsan Amrohi

Intro
The name means ‘Rising Sun’. It is a book by Muhammad Ahsan Amrohi, one of the assistants of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad. It was directed at Mehr Ali Shah, and according to the latter, was full of errors.  This book seems to be totally missing from all the records.

“Shams ul Hidaya” (1899) by Pir Mehr Ali Shah

Intro
MGA’s confrontation with Pir Mehr Ali Shah started in roughly 1899.  Pir Mehr Ali Shah had a book vs. MGA published in May of 1899.  It was printed at the Mustafa’i Press, Lahore in Ramadan 1317 A.H. Maulawi Nur-ud-Din read a few pages of this book on February 17th, 1900, and wrote a letter to Pir Mihr Ali Shah the next day. It was written in this book that if any one wanted to say anything about this book he must refer to authentic commentaries such as Ibni Jarir and Ibni Kathir and also to the true Hadith or he must base his arguments upon the Holy Quran, which should be acceptable to the great and learned people who are masters of language and rhetorics (page 8). Though the book is written in Urdu, yet the writer has occasionally employed Arabic also to show his learning.  So, Maulawi Nur-ud-Din asked the Pir eleven questions in his letter (see Dard).  But this book, “Shams ul Hidaya” wasn’t totally written by Pir Mehr Ali Shah, in fact, one of the disciples of the Pir wrote much of, and this was admitted to by the Pir himself.  Maulavi Muhammad Ghazi had actually written the book, as Noorudin asked for references, the Pir told Noorudin that he should ask Maulavi Muhammad Ghazi.

April 24th, 1900
Maulawi Abdul Karim wrote a response in the Al-Hakam, dated April 24th, 1900, and pressed Mihr Ali Shah in vain for an answer to the eleven questions put to him (see Dard).

July 9th 1900
Maulawi Sayyid Muhammad Ahsan reminded Mihr Ali Shah and also challenged him to
hold a debate with him about the life or death of Jesusas, the subject of Mihr Ali Shah’s book (see Dard).

On July 20th, 1900
MGA issued an announcement in which he invited Mihr Ali Shah to a contest.  On page 81, Mihr Ali Shah had insinuated that MGA did not know the Quran, so he suggested that a meeting be held at Lahore and forty verses of the Quran should be selected by casting lots. MGA and Mihr Ali Shah should then pray that God might enable the truthful of the two to write in fluent Arabic a commentary of the verses in that very meeting with the help of the Holy Spirit. The commentary should be not less than 43 pages. The parties should have no book with them, nor should there be any assistant. Seven hours should be given for this purpose. The parties should then sign the papers which would be read out to three learned men selected by Mihr Ali Shah. They should neither be the followers of MGA nor of Mihr Ali Shah. These three men should then give their decision under oath as to which of the papers was superior in language as well as in commentary. MGA also said he was prepared to entrust the decision to his enemies like Maulawi Muhammad Husain, Maulawi Abdul Jabbar Ghaznavi and Professor Maulawi Abdullah. This Ishtihar was signed by 20 men as witnesses (see Dard).  MGA gave Pir Mehr Ali Shah a deadline of August 22nd to respond.

July 23rd, 1900
MGA issued an Urdu leaflet (Arba‘in No. 1) on July 23rd, 1900.  He declared that it was not a Mubahala nor was it meant to be a dreadful prophecy for any opponent. He also announced that he would go on publishing leaflets until the limit of 40 was reached or until an opponent came out in good faith in the field of contest (see Dard).

August 25th, 1900
Pir Mehr Ali Shah arrived in Lahore for his contest with MGA, however, MGA was a no-show.

December 7, 1900
MGA invited Pir Mehar ‘Ali Shah to write a quality and in ornate Arabic language, a
commentary on surah al-Fatihah within 70 days. He further elaborated both have 70 days beginning from December 15, 1900. Therefore, MGA wrote an exhaustive commentary in
high flown Arabic on surah al-Fatihah which appeared under the title of I‘jazul-Masih on February 23, 1901.

February 23, 1901
“I’jazul-Masih is published.

March 1901
Pir Mehr Ali Shah responds with Saif-e-Chishtiya’i, in this book, he makes fun of some of the Arabic phrases used in I‘jazul-Masih and alleged that some of the material is plagiarized and
further alleged that the Revelations of the Promised Messiah are no more than confused dreams.  The Pir also made an allegation that the Promised Messiahas had been plagiarizing
from Maqamat-e-Hariri.

Hani Tahir on “Ijazul Masih” – “The miracles of the Messiah”

Intro
This is an Arabic-only book by MGA and his team of writers which was prompted via MGA’s challenge to Pir Mehar ‘Ali Shah.  In his challenge issued on July 20, 1900, MGA wanted to put at rest various insinuations against him about his lack of knowledge of the Arabic language.  The Muslims of the Punjab knew about MGA, they knew that MGA was using ghost writers and he could barely even speak in Arabic.  MGA’s team invited all so-called scholars and ulema’ specially Pir Mehar ‘Ali Shah to demonstrate their eloquence and fluency of Arabic by participating in a seven-hour live contest of writing a commentary in high flown Arabic on 40 verses on a surah selected through drawing a lot at a public meeting in Lahore where all should gather including MGA (see Hidden Treasures).  We have posted a few officially translated portions of this book here.  MGA never went to the public meeting and was thus humiliated, instead his team wrote this book on that occasion.

Hani Tahir’s commentary on this book
This is the second edition of the book, whose first edition was published eight months ago.

The book consists of four chapters:

The first chapter shows that there was no challenge from the Mirza’s side; it was just an escape from facing the payment of the dowry.

The second chapter speaks about the content of the Mirza’s book “Ijazil Masih”, and shows that the content is hollow and petty, and that no sane person can say what was mentioned in this book; for example: that the age of the world is seven thousand years, and that the Quranic chapter ‘Al-Fatihah’ includes mention about the Mirza’s advent.

The third chapter talks about the language of the Mirza in this book, where there are dozens of grammatical errors, and there are weak expressions and poor language, and there are 71 expressions that are stolen from Al Hariri and Al Hamdhani.

The fourth chapter shows the lies of the Mirza after the publication of this book, and it shows how he escaped from confronting Sanuallah when he came to Qadian to meet him after the publication of the book.

MGA’s failure to speak at the Aligarh College in April-May of 1889

Intro
As we all know, MGA never gave any public lectures in his whole life, before 1889 or after.  MGA always had a follower of his read out these ready made speeches, which were written by MGA’s team of writers.  The main reason that MGA never did public speeches or Friday Sermons or etc was because he spoke with a terrible stutter.  In fact, MGA’s team went out of their way to fabricate speeches that MGA might have given, like Khutba Ilhamia and other talks at the annual Jalsa’s at Qadian.  Even before Khutbah Ilhamia, MGA never led any Eid prayer, he would simply get up to speak and say a few words after the main speech, see MGA’s Eid of 1888.  Nevertheless, after accepting Bait’s from his followers in March of 1889, MGA immediately traveled to Aligarh and was scheduled to give a speech to many Professor’s, Sir Syed would also be in attendance.  However, after MGA arrived in Aligarh, he never came out of his apartment for daily prayers, then, just a few hours before his speech, he declined and abruptly left for Qadian.  This was before Noorudin and Maulvi Abdul Karim had began giving speeches on MGA’s behalf.  They had just taken his Bait however.  Mir Abbas Ali Ludhianvi, Maulvi Abdullah Sanori and Sheikh Hamid Ali accompanied him on this journey (see Mujadid-e-Azim, page 278).  MGA stayed in Aligarh for just a week, after which he returned to Ludhiana. In Aligarh, he was the guest of Tafazul Hussain, Tehsildar, who was at the time serving as the Superintendent of the Deputy Commissioner’s office. There were a couple of report-worthy incidents in Aligarh (IBID).  The name of the speech was supposed to be “The Truth of Islam”.

1890, MGA’s account of this event in Fath-e-Islam
“”””Once I had the occasion to travel to Aligarh at a time when my mind was tired. I had also suffered from this weakness some time earlier in Qadian and I was not in a fit condition
to carry on long conversations or to undertake any intellectual effort…. In Aligarh, while I was in this condition, a Maulavi of the name of Muhammad Isma‘il came to see me and humbly requested me to deliver a sermon…. I accepted his request with pleasure and had in mind to speak in regular public about the essence of Islam…But thereafter God the Almighty dissuaded me from this effort.

I am sure that as I was not in good health, God the Almighty did not desire that I should suffer some ill consequence from making an intellectual effort and that is why He stopped me from delivering the sermon. On a previous occasion, I had a similar experience.

While I was physically in a weak condition, I saw one of the past Prophets in a vision and he said to me with sympathy and goodwill, ‘Why do you do such hard mental work; if you continue, you will fall ill.’”””” [Fat-he Islam, pp. 27–28 footnote, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 3, pp. 17–18](see also, the 2009 online edition of Tadhkirah, pages, 219-219).

Sir Syed Ahmad Khan then makes fun of MGA
See Dard, pages 215-216, footnotes:

“”””Sir Sayyid Ahmad Khan also made Ahmadas the target of his ridicule in his vanity and conceit. He offered to become his disciple and then go to Hyderabad where Ahmadas should show some of his false miracles and he would go round singing his praises. Then the State in its simplicity would give Rs. 10,000 out of which Sir Sayyid would have two-thirds and onethird
would be Ahmad’sas.

It is curious indeed to note here that Sir Sayyid was later on stricken
with sorrow and grief when he and his college suffered a loss of Rs. 1,05,490/- through Sham Bihari Lal. The shock nearly killed him. When Ahmadas knew from God that Sir Sayyid Ahmad Khan was approaching death he invited him to accept the truth by means of an Ishtihar dated
March 12th, 1897, but the world was too much with him. He had even discontinued offering the Salat and observing the fasts.”””

Who was Maulvi Muhammad Ismael?
MGA and other Ahmadiyya sources tell us that MGA was in Aligarh already when this Muslim Maulvi approached MGA and asked him to give a speech.  MGA agreed, however, MGA and other Ahmadiyya sources tell us that MGA was prevented by his GOD to give them speech, and thus he reneged.  However, the truth is that MGA was incapable.  Nevertheless, Maulvi Muhammad Ismael seems to have engaged MGA in some type of Mubahila contest.  He even wrote a book against MGA in 1889.  This might be the first instance of MGA conducting a Mubahila challenge with another Muslim.

Maulvi Muhammad Ismael was a liberal Maulvi who’s friend had visited MGA at Qadian and he says:

“Syed Ahmad Arab, who is my trusted friend, narrated to me, ‘I stayed with Hazrat Mirza in the company of a group of his trusted friends…and discovered that he possesses astrological
instruments that he puts to his use.’”

In response to this charge, MGA challenged Maulvi Muhammad Ismail of Aligarh to a
mubahalah.  MGA wrote:

“I have no recollection of any Syed Ahmad who stayed with me for two months. The onus of producing this person is on Maulvi sahib so that we can ask him face to face what instruments he has seen with me. There is really no need for an Arab, or non- Arab, to give evidence in this matter. I am still alive, so why don’t you, Maulvi sahib, come and stay with me for two months and see for yourself?” (see Mujadid e Azim again).

Ahmadiyya sources tell us that Maulvi Muhammad Ismael died a short while after
We have not confirmed this as of yet, however, Ahmadiyya sources should never be trusted.  Nevertheless, we have reported what they wrote.

“I‘JAZUL-MASIH” (1901) some quotes, “The Miracles of the Messiah”

Intro
In 1901, MGA and his team didn’t publish many books.  In fact, this seems to be the only book published.  This is an Arabic book, with a persian translation, it has 204 pages and was published directly from Qadian printed in the Zia-ul-Islam Press in 70 days from the month of fasting in the year 1318 A.H. and the Christian month of 20 February 1901. Printed at Qadian, District Gurdaspur by Hakim Fazal Din Bhervi. Price: Quantity: 700..  This book deals with MGA’s beef with Pir Mehr Ali Shah as well as a full commentary of Surah Fatiha, the first chapter of the Quran.  In this book, MGA criticizes Egypt, MGA blames Moses-as why he did not call for the destruction of Egypt and its removal from existence, as the previous generations perished and were removed from existence, all of this just because a sheikh criticized his book.

Some quotes
“”””I write in Urdu for general information that God, out of His Grace, completed this booklet within 70 days on 20 February 1901. The truth is that it all happened out of His Grace. During this period, my humble self was afflicted with various diseases and illnesses and there was a fear that this work would not be finished. Because of weakness and attacks of illness, I was not doing well enough to even raise a pen; and even if I was healthy, how would I have the capacity? (persian proverb). Then I figured out the secret behind these physical illnesses – it was so that my followers out of my friends should not think that this is a result of my mental faculty. So, He proved through illnesses and obstructions that this is not a work of my heart or my mind. In this thought, my opponents are completely true when they say that this is not his work, there must be some hidden person who helps him. So, I bear witness that there really is someone else who helps me, but he is not human but rather the same Capable and Strong before whose throne our head is. If someone else can help in such a supernatural venture, then readers should anticipate that together with this book others like it, hundreds of other exegesis of Surah Al-Fatiha have been published or are about to be published – within the seventy days as in the condition laid out by me – as that is the criterion for the decision. Especially Syed Mehr Ali Shah – I am sure that he must have tried to write some exegesis, for how else can he show his face to those people to whom he said that he is travelling to Lahore to write the exegesis. It is obvious that if he could not write in 70 days, then how could he have written in 7 hours? Therefore, this is a great sign for the judges to see the support of God, for by setting the deadline of 70 days, hundreds of maulvis were invited to oppose me; what is their answer now as to why they could not publish an exegesis like mine? This is the miracle, what else is a miracle?”””

(Urdu poem that says that the miracle of this writing is proof of his being Messiah)

“””For this book I prayed that God in His Majesty make it a miracle for Muslim clergy that no writer is able to produce a comparable book, and no one is given the ability to write such a book. My prayer was accepted and God gave me the good news: “We will stop it from heaven” and then I concluded that this is a hint that enemy will be unable to produce a book like thereof.””” (I‘jazul-Masih, p. 66, Ruhani Khaza’in, v. 18, p. 68)(See Also Hiddn Treasures).

and

“””On that blessed night my prayer found acceptance from the Presence of the Great One and my Lord cheered me saying: He has been forbidden by the forbidder in heaven, Then I understood that the indication was that my opponents would not have the power to attempt it and that they would not be able to produce the like of it either in eloquence or in its qualities. This good news was given by Allah, the Most Benevolent, during the last ten days of Ramadan.””(I‘jazul-Masih, p. 66, Ruhani Khaza’in, v. 18, p. 68).

“””””The greatest and grandest tiding of Surah al-Fatihah is that it foretells the era and time of the Promised Messiah and Mahdias. Seeking strength from the loving God, I shall expound on this topic in its appropriate place.

“Moreover, one of the tidings of this chapter is that it informs us of the age of this petty world. Seeking strength from the One God, I shall also write on this. This is the very same Fatihah regarding which a prophet from among the prophets had given tidings. He said, ‘I saw a powerful angel descending from heaven and Surah al-Fatihah was in his hand in the form of a small book. By the command of the Almighty Lord, the right foot of that angel set upon the sea, and his left foot on the earth. He called out with a mighty voice like the roar of a lion. With this voice of his, seven thunderbolts flashed. Every thunder from among them uttered voices. It was said, “Bear well in mind the things that the thunder uttered and write them not.” The loving Lord has stated as such. Swearing upon the living God Whose light had illumined the countenance of rivers and inhabited lands, the angel who had descended said, “After this age, there shall be no age that shall have the glory the likes of it.”’

“Commentators unanimously agree that this tiding (prophecy) is related to the age of the divine Promised Messiah. That time has indeed arrived and the cries of the seven oft-repeated verses [Surah al-Fatihah] have been manifested. This era is the final age and shall manifest blessings and guidance, and no age after it shall be of the same rank in grace and calibre. When we bid farewell to this world, there shall be no messiah after us till the Day of Judgement. Neither shall anybody descend from the heavens, nor shall they emerge from any cave, save the person regarding whose generation my Lord has ordained already.

“This prophecy is absolute and he who was to descend from Allah the Almighty has already descended. The heavens and the earth bear testimony to him, but alas, you are the people who are ignorant of that testimony. And you shall remember me after a time has passed. However, fortunate is he who accepted [the claim of] the time and did not waste it in ignorance.”””””” (Ijazul-Masih, Ruhani Khazain, Vol. 18, pp. 71-73)
_______________________________________________________________________________________________
“””The followers of Mehr Ali – one of my opponents – claimed that he is a complete scholar and a great saint. After he claimed that he is a scholar, and knows the Quran and is of the wise ones, I invited him to accept my challenge by writing a Tafseer like my Tafseer, he was stupid and didn’t accept. I say: even if he was as good as al-Hamadhani or al-Hareeri, he would not be able to write like my writing.””””

“The Messenger of Allah and the Lord of الورى did not call your land [meaning Egypt] the land of the Arabs, so do not slander to Allah and His Messenger, the slanderous has been disappointed”.

(الهدى والتبصرة، ص 5)

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

“The country of Egypt is in fact within the land of non-arabs, and their language is worse than all Arabic dialectics, suffice to say in this regard that they say the word “اُقْعُدْ” بـ “ﮔُدْ” . Their dialect is very bad, far from the Arab eloquence. They find it harder than the Indians to make them eloquent, because their tongue is used to the wrong pronunciation”.

“and I learned that the land [Egypt] is a land in which the blaze does not depart from it, and from it boils to this time the fire of arrogance and shallow greatness. God forgave Moses upon leaving it and was excused”. (الهدى والتبصرة، ص 5)

In the early 1890’s, Mirza Ghulam Ahmad claimed that the British Government’s control of India would end in 8 years

Intro
MGA made many strange predictions about the future.  Another weird one is his prediction about the British Government.  He had a revelation in Persian which indicated that the British government would end its rule in India in 8 years.  Later on, this revelation was deleted by the Ahmadiyya editing team.  In Seeratul Mahdi,  Volume 1 page 68,  Mirza Bashir Ahmad mentioned three names Haji Abdul Majeed, Haifz Hamid Ali and Mian Abdullah Sanwari as witnessed that MGA received a revelation in which it was mentioned that rule British Government will end in 8 years. One out of these three witness (Mian Abdullah Sanauri) says that he remembers this revelation like it was etched in stone.  As time passed British Rule became stronger and stronger day by day. Mirza realized that he has fired a wrong bullet so in Roohani Khazain Volume 14 page 216 (Kashful Ghita) he denied this ILHAM altogether (see the scan in the below), it can also be found on pages 38-39 of the 1898 english edition of Kashf-ul-Ghita).  MGA denied this prophecy mainly because one of his friends informed of this prophesy to Molana Muhammad Hussain Batalvi and he published it in his magazine Ishaat us sunnah. Mirza got scared that his masters, the Britishers would not like this so he denied it.  We don’t have the original scan from that newspaper as of yet.  Nevertheless, Ahmadi’s archived this revelation of MGA after the Khalifa authenticated it in 1929.

2009 online english edition of Tadhkirah, see page, 1017
[Persian] [The British Empire will last for eight years; thereafter there will be weakness, disturbance and decline.]

[al-Fadl, vol. 16, no. 78, April 5, 1929, p. 5]

Jalal ud Din Shams’ commentary on this persian revelation
Shams was an employee of the Mirza family and a major editor, you will see his notes all over the literature of the Ahmadiyya Movement.  He claims that this revelation was fulfilled via the death of Queen Victoria in 1901.  Shams doesn’t mention that this book was published in English in 1898.

Additional references from the 2009 online english edition of Tadhkirah, see page 1018

Hafiz Hamid ‘Ali narrated to me (((Refers to Haji ‘Abdul-Majid))), …that Hadrat Sahib [the Promised Messiah] received the revelation:

[Persian] [The British Empire will last for eight years, thereafter there will be the days of
weakness, and decline.]

[Siratul-Mahdi, part 1, p. 75, no. 96, 2nd ed]

Sahibzadah Pir Sirajul-Haqq Nu‘mani narrates that he has heard this revelation as following:

[Persian] [The power of the British will last for eight years, thereafter there will be the days of weakness, and decline.]

[Siratul-Mahdi, vol. 2, p. 9, Riwayat no. 314]
