“Ilhamat-e-Mirza: in english as “The Revelations of Mirza” by Sanaullah Amritsari

Intro
After Batalvi was ordered by the British government to stop cursing and offending MGA, the Ahl-e-Hadith seem to have asked Maulvi Sanaullah to engage MGA.  MGA issued a death prophecy for Sanaullah, but he survived for approximately 40 years after the death of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad. There was a ‘reverse’ death prophecy that the Mirza would die within Amritsari’s lifetime, which happened almost a year after the publication of these dual prophecies.

Sanaullah Amritsari published these books, among others:

  • Aafatullah – an account of the prophecy against him and the attempts to justify it.
  • Ilhamat-e-Mirza – a critical account of the ‘revelations’ of Mirza.
  • Shah-i Inglistan aur Mirza Qadiyan (The King of England and Mirza of Qadian), 1921, 12 pages
  • Ilham‎ (Revelation), 1904, 16 pages
  • Islam aur British Law, yani siasat-i Muhammadiya aur qavanin-i Angrezi ka muqabla (Islam and British Law: Muhammadan politics and Confrontation with English Law), 1924, 48 pages
  • Shamʻ-i Tauheed (Candle of Divine Unity), 1938, 40 pages
  • Masʻalah-yi Hijaz par nazar (A look at the Problem of Hijaz), 1925, 28 pages, Muslim pilgrims and pilgrimages
  • Tarikh-i Mirza (History of Mirza), 1923, 64 pages
  • Muraqqaʻ-i Qadiani (The Qadiani Mosaic), 1917, 64 pages
  • Nikat-i Mirza, 1926, 40 pages
  • ʻAqaʼid-i Mirza (Beliefs of Mirza), 1928, 8 pages
  • Khitab ba Maududi (An Address to Maududi), 1946, 64 pages

Mirza Ghulam Ahmad vs. Sanaullah

The Final decision with Mawlana Sanaullah Amritsari

Mirza Ghulam Ahmad published an advertisement labelled ‘Maulvi Sanaullah Sahib Amritsari ke saath aakhri faisla’, on 15 April 1907:

Transliteration :

“Maulvi Sanaullah Sahib Amritsari ke saath aakhri faisla

Ba khidmat Maulvi Sanaullah Sahib,
Assalaamu ala man ittaba’a al huda

Muddat se aap ke parchay Ahl Hadees me meri takzeeb aur tafseeq ka silsila jaari hai. Hamesha mujhay aap apnay is parchay mein mardood kazzaab dajjaal mufsad ke naam se mansoob kartay hain aur dunya me meri nisbat shohrat daitay hain ke yeh shaks muftari aur kazzaab aur dajjaal hai aur is shaks ka dawa maseeh maud honay ka sarasar iftara hai.

Mainay aap se bohot dukh utthaya aur sabr karta raha. Magar chunanchay main dekhta houn ke main haq ke phelaanay ke liye mamoor houn aur aap bohot se iftara meray par kar kay dunya ko meri taraf aanay se roktay hain. Aur mujhay in gaaliyon aur in tohmataun aur in alfaaz se yaad kartay hain ke jin se barrh kar koi lafz sakht nahi ho sakta.

Agar mein aisa hi kazzaab aur muftari houn jaisa ke aksar aukaat aap apnay har ek parchay me mujhay yaad kartay hain to main aap ki zindagi me hi halaak ho jaoun ga kyounkay main jaanta houn ke mufsad aur kazzaab ki bohot umr nahi hoti aur aakhir vo zillat aur hasrat ke saath apnay ashad dushmano ki zindagi me na-kaam halaak ho jata hai. Aur us ka halaak hona hi behtar hota hai ta khuda ke bandaun ko tabaah na karay.

Aur agar main kazzaab aur muftari nahi houn aur khuda kay mukaalma aur mukhatba se (musharraf) houn aur maseeh maud houn to main khuda ke fazl se umeed rakhta houn ke sunnat Allah ke (muwafiq) aap mukkazzabeen ki saza se nahi bachain ge.

Pas agar vo saza jo insaan ke haathaun se nahi, balkay mehez khuda ke haathaun se hai jaisay taoon haiza waghera halak bemaariyan aap par meri zindagi me hi na hueen to main khuda tala ki taraf se nahi.

Yeh kisi ilhaam ya wahi ki bana par paishgoi nahi mehz dua ke tor par mainay khuda se faisla chaha hai. Aur main khuda se dua karta houn kay aey meray maalik baseer-o-qadeer jo aleem-o-khabeer (waghaira) hai jo meray dil ke halaat se waqaf hai agar yeh dawa maseeh maud honay ka mehz meray nafs ka iftara hai aur main teri nazar me mufsad aur kazzaab houn aur din raat iftara karna mera kaam hai to aey meray pyaaray maalik main aajzi se teri janaab me dua karta houn ke molvi Sanaullah Sahib ki zindagi me mujhay halaak kar aur meri maut se un ko aur un ki jamaat ko khush kar de. Aameen.

Magar aey meray kaamil saadiq khuda. Agar molvi Sanaullah in tohmtaun me jo mujh par lagata hain haq par nahi, to main aajzi se teri janaab me dua karta houn ke meri zindagi me hi in ko naabood kar. Magar na insaani haathaun se balkay taoon o haiza waghera imraaz helka se baghair us soorat kay keh vo khullay khullay tor par meray roo-ba-roo (face to face) aur meri jamaat ke saamnay in tamaam gaaliyon aur bad-zubaanaun se taubah karay jin ko vo farz (mansabi) samajh kar hamesha mujhay dukh deta hai.

Aur door door mulkaun (countries) tak meri nisbat ye phela diya ke ye shaks dar haqeeqat mufsada aur ttag aur dukaandaar aur kazzaab aur muftari aur nihaayat darjay ka bud aadmi hai.

Sau agar aisay kalmaat haq ke taalbaun par bad-asar na daal tay to main in tohmtaun par sabr karta.Magar main dekhta houn ke molvi Sanaullah unhi tohmtaun ke zariye se meray silsilay ko nabood karna chahta hai aur is imaarat ko (munhadim) karna chahta hai jo tu nay aey meray aaqa aur meray bhejnay waalay apnay haath se banaee hai.

Is liye main teray hi taqaddus aur rahmat ka daaman pakarr kar teri janaab me maltaji houn ke mujh mein aur Sanaullah mein saccha faisla farma aur vo jo teri nigaah me dar haqeeqat (mufsid) aur kazzaab hai us ko saadiq ki zindagi me hi dunya se uttha le. Ya kisi aur nihaayat sakht aafat me jo maut ke baraabar ho mubtala kar.

Aey meray pyaaray maalik tu aisa hi kar. Aameen. Sum Aameen.

Ba aakhir molvi Sahib se iltamaas hai ke vo meray is tamaam mazmoon ko apnay parchay me cchaap dain aur jo chaahain is kay neechay likh dain. Ab faisla khuda ke haath me hai.

Translation :

“To Molvi Sanaullah Sahib,
Salaam on those who follow guidance.

For some time, my rejection and disapproval has been going on in your magazine Ahle Hadees. You always refer to me as accursed, liar, dajjaal, mutinous and you publicise to the world regarding me, that this person is a fabricator and liar and dajjaal and this person’s claim of being Maseeh Maud is a fabrication.

I have suffered a lot of pain from you and I kept exhibiting patience. But because I see that I have been commissioned to spread truth and you are preventing people from coming to me due to your slanders against me. And you refer to me with swearing and slanders and in such words that there are no words harsher.

And if I am such a liar and fabricator as you have oftentimes referred to me as in each of your publications then I will be destroyed in your lifetime because I know that a fabricator and liar does not have a long life span and in the end, after degradation and languish, he becomes destroyed in the lifetime of his staunch opponents. And it is better for him to be destroyed so he does not misguide God’s people.

And if I am not a liar and fabricator and I am honoured by God’s dialogue and address and am Maseeh Maud then with the Grace of God I am hopeful that according to the Practice of Allah you will not escape from the punishment received by liars.

Hence if you are not inflicted with such punishment which is not from the hands of human beings but is only in the Hands of Allah like plague or cholera or such illness in my lifetime then I am not from God Almighty.

This is not a prophecy on the basis of any revelation or inspiration but is merely a Verdict which I have asked from God in the form of a prayer. And I pray to God that O my Master Baseer and Qadeer Who is Aleem and Khabeer and Who is Aware of the condition of my heart. If this claim of being Maseeh Maud is from my own nafs (mind) and if I am corrupt and a liar in Your Eyes and if i forge lies against You day and night then O my Beloved Master I humbly pray to You that destroy me in the lifetime of Molvi Sanaullah Sahib and make my death a source of happiness for him and his Jamaat. Aameen.

But O my completely Truthful God. If Molvi Sanaullah is not truthful in the slanders he attributes to me, then I humbly pray to You to annihilate him in my lifetime. But not from the hands of human beings, in fact from plague or cholera or such diseases with the exception of such a case that he openly and face to face in front of me and my Jamaat, repents from his swearing and bad language which he considers as obligatory and always hurts me. Aameen O Lord of the Worlds.

I have been tortured by him a lot and I have remained patient. But now I see that his slanders have surpassed the limit. He considers me worse than those thieves and dacoits whose presence in the world is extremely harmful. And in his slanders, he didn’t even act on the verse (…..) and he considered me worse than everyone in the world. And it has been spread in far and wide countries that this person is in reality an illustrator and a marauder and liar and an innovator and an extremely low class abominable person.

If they had not cast bad accusations against the speakers of truth then I would have remained patient against these slanders. But I see that Maulvi Sanaullah wishes to use these slanders to annihilate my continuance and he wishes to dismantle the building, which You O my Master and the One Who has Sent me, Have Created with Your Own Hand.

Because of this I hold onto Your Sanctity and Your Mercy and I supplicate to You to Give the True Verdict between me and Sanaullah and he who in Your View is indeed the liar to be taken from this world in the lifetime of the truthful one. Or for him to be indulged in any other calamity which is similar to death. O my Beloved Master, do just that. Aameen.

In the end I request Maulvi Sahib to publish this article in his magazine and he may write whatever he wishes underneath it. Now the verdict is in God’s Hands.

The writer: The servant of Allah as-Samad, Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, the Promised Messiah, may Allah protect him and support him.

Points to note:

  • If Mirza was a liar and fabricator as claimed by Mawlana, then Mirza would be destroyed in the Mawlana’s life.
  • If Mirza was not a liar/fabricator and is indeed the promised Messiah, then Mirza was hopeful the Mawlana would not escape the punishment liars receive. The punishment would not be from the hands of humans, rather a punishment from God, like the plague, cholera etc.
  • If the Mawlana was not afflicted with such a punishment during Mirza’s life, then Mirza was NOT from Almighty God.
  • This was NOT a prophecy based on revelation/inspiration (wahee/ilhaam), rather it was Mirza asking for a verdict in form of a dua.
  • If in God eyes, Mirza was a corrupt liar who forged lies against god, then Mirza prayed to be destroyed in the Mawlana’s life.

So, was it a Mubahilah?

According to the terms of a Mubahilah, both parties must accept and mutually invoke the curse of Allah on the liars. Though Sanaullah printed Mirza’s prayer in his magazine on 26 April 1907, he wrote that he did not find the prayer acceptable. So if this was really a mubahalah, then Mirza should be off the hook. Unfortunately for Ahmadis, all the evidence shows that this was a one-sided prayer.
Take a look at the announcement itself. First, the obvious points: Is the word “Mubahilah” mentioned? No. Does Mirza Ghulam Ahmad at any point mention that this dua only applies if Maulana Sanaullah also makes the dua? No. The closest thing is his final statement, in which he requests that Sanaullah republish Mirza’s prayer in his journal. Nevertheless, the Ahmadis focus on this statement and by way of deceptive translations try to change the meaning. For example:
Perceiving that Maulvi Sanaullah Sahib was not prepared to take a definite stand, the Promised Messiah, peace be on him, published an announcement under the heading, “Final decision concerning Maulvi Sanaullah Sahib,” and concluded it with the statement:
  • Now Maulvi Sanaullah Sahib may write in response whatever he pleases. In case he accepts the challenge to a mubahilah he should record his acceptance of it over his signature.

This translation is so wrong there is really no need to comment on it. Another example:

But because the mubahala challenge cannot be concluded by one party alone and the concurrence of the other party is equally essential, Hazrat Mirza Sahib, therefore, in order to finalize the mubahala challenge, put forward two demands in his notification: Firstly, that he should publish the notification in his newspaper Ahli Hadees, and secondly, write whatever he wishes underneath it (that is, write his own conditions, if any under it clearly). The decision then is in the hands of God.
Besides the blatant attempts to read a Mubahilah challenge into the announcement when there is none, it should be noted that in the original Urdu announcement Mirza Ghulam Ahmad wrote “Now (ab) the verdict is in the Hands of God,” not “Then (phir)”.
It turns out that even Ahmadi sources (before Mirza’s death) attest to this being a one-sided dua. See below.

Mirza Ghulam Ahmad’s diary

On 25 April 1907, only ten days after the publication of the prayer announcement, the following entry from Mirza’s diary was published in the Ahmadiyya community newspaper, Badr:

What has been written in connection with Sanaullah is actually not from us, but its foundation was laid by God. One time this subject was on our mind, and at night as our attention was on this the ilham (revelation) occurred: “I answer the call of the caller”. For the sufis the biggest miracle is the acceptance of prayers. Everything else is its branches.
[Akhbar Badr. 6 (17) (Qadian). 25 April 1907. pp. 7–8. Reproduced in Malfuzat. Vol. 5. p. 206Alternate link. Old edition: Vol. 9, p. 268]

Evidently, Mirza Ghulam Ahmad has stated here that his prayer about Sanaullah was accepted. We have already mentioned the result of this prayer.

Letter to Sanaullah, Badr, 13 June 1907

Maulana Sanaullah wrote to Mirza Ghulam Ahmad requesting a copy of one his books. A copy of the reply was published in Badr.

Your letter reached the Promised Messiah, upon whom be prayers and peace, on 3 June 1907, in which, with reference to Akhbar Badr of 4 April 1907, you have requested a copy of the book Haqiqatul Wahi. Its response is as follows: The intention of sending you the book was so long as you would read it before the Mubahilah […] By refusing this Mubahilah you found a way to escape from punishment. But now Divine Fate has caught you another way – Hazrat Hujjat Allah (Mirza Ghulam Ahmad) has made a dua against you, and so has chosen another way of reaching a verdict. This way, all the conditions that applied to the mubahilah are no longer agreed to as the mubahilah has been cancelled. Therefore the need to send you the book no longer remains […]
Note: The terms of the mubahilah according to the notice in the aforementioned Badr of 4 April 1907 were as follows: Mirza Ghulam Ahmad would publish an announcement declaring that all the “revelations” in his book Haqiqatul Wahiwere truly from God. Maulana Sanaullah would be sent a copy of the book as well, and after reading it he would publish his own announcement in which he pointed out which revelations he declared to not be from God. In their respective announcements each would invoke the curse of Allah on the liar. Maulana Sanaullah declined to participate in this mubahilah before Mirza’s announcement on 15 April 1907.

Badr, 22 August 1907

An article was published in Sanaullah’s Ahl-i Hadis magazine in response to an article in Badr. The writer of the article in Badr wrote a counter-response. At one point he writes:

After the next two lines, in which he calls me “Mirzai” and other names, he has written the following lie: “The Mirzai now says that Mirza Sahib has done mubahilah with Maulvi Sanaullah Amritsari that ‘He shall die in my lifetime; surely he shall die.’” I have never mentioned mubahilah, because Maulvi Sanaullah has never come in front of His Holiness for mubahilah, and he will never have the courage to do so. For the liar can never, ever, compete with the truthful one. Again and again he has been called for mubahalah, but he refused, because that is his tactic – he always finds a way to escape. Finally Divine Fate has caught him from a different route – His Holiness the Promised Messiah, upon whom be prayers and peace, has issued an announcement entitled “Final Verdict with Maulvi Sanaullah” in which solely through dua he has sought the verdict from God, and not through mubahalah. Poor Maulvi Sanaullah, with what courage can he compete in dua with the Glorious Lord’s champion?
Outcome of Mirza Ghulam’s Dua
Mirza supplicated:

Aur main khuda se dua karta houn kay aey meray maalik baseer-o-qadeer jo aleem-o-khabeer hai jo meray dil ke halaat se waqaf hai agar yeh dawa maseeh maud honay ka mehz meray nafs ka iftara hai aur main teri nazar me mufsad aur kazzaab houn aur din raat iftara karna mera kaam hai to aey meray pyaaray maalik main aajzi se teri janaab me dua karta houn ke molvi Sanaullah Sahib ki zindagi me mujhay halaak kar aur meri maut se un ko aur un ki jamaat ko khush kar de.

Mirza’s prayer was answered and divine judgement was eventually passed. Mirza died in 1908, reportedly telling his father in law: ‘Meer sahab mujhay wabai haiza ho gaya hai’ (Meer sahab i am suffering from cholera)’ whilst on his deathbed. Mawalana Sanaullah however, lived a few more decades after Mirza’s death.
In attempts to save face, Ahmadis quote events which took place at the end of the Mawlana’s life. During 1947 there was a riot in Amritsar where the Mawlana’s son was murdered and rioters looted and burnt down his house. The grief caused by the loss of his son, along with his collection of books which were burnt in the fire eventually lead to the death of Mawlana.

To remind Ahmadis, as per the prayer of Mirza, the liar was supposed to die within the life of the truthful and the punishment was supposed to be from God, in form of Cholera of plague. Sanaullah did not die during Mirza’s life and did not die from a disease. It was Mirza who died first and who was suffering from Cholera on his deathbed, thus proven a liar by divine judgement.

If Ahmadis want equal status, they should stop pretending to be Muslims: Sanaullah

Intro
As we all know, Ahmadis are trained by their mullahs to bother and annoy Muslims all over the world.  This is the “tabligh” that is mandatory on all Ahmadis.  As a result of this, many innocent Ahmadis are jailed and punished for breaking the laws of Pakistan, which prohibit Ahmadiyya “tabligh”.

A news report
https://www.pakistantoday.com.pk/2017/10/13/ahmedis-should-stop-pretending-to-be-muslims-if-they-want-equal-status-says-punjab-law-minister/

LAHORE: Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan on Friday said the Ahmadi minority community should stop declaring themselves as Muslims if they want to be treated in the same manner as other religious minority groups in Pakistan.

Addressing a press conference organised to ‘clear his position’ on the issue, Rana Sanaullah said that some media outfits had quoted his statement on Ahmadis out of context.

“I said that Ahmadis pretend to be Muslims as they quote Quranic verses and perform religious rituals just like us in a bid to propagate their faith. But let me state it very clearly that, according to Islam and Pakistan’s constitution, those who do not believe in Khatam-e-Nabuwwat (finality of Prophethood) are not Muslims,” he said.

The Punjab law minister said that all other minority communities are enjoying equal status as citizens of Pakistan and “so will the Ahmadis if they admit to the fact that they are not Muslims and are a religious minority”.

“It is our duty to protect minorities of the country but the Ahmadis will first have to stop claiming to be Muslims. There is no other way around it,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Lahore High Court Bar Association has suspended the membership of Rana Sanaullah.

Moreover, the bar association also imposed a ban on his entry in the bar premises.

The decision was made in a condemnation meeting about a statement of the law minister over Ahmadis, chaired by Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) Secretary Aftab Bajwa.

The members of legal fraternity also staged a protest within the bar premises, calling for the immediate resignation of the minister.

Addressing the protesting lawyers, the SCBA secretary said that a blasphemy case would be registered against Sanaullah for challenging the finality of Prophethood (Khatm-e-Nabuwwat).

“The lawyers will not sit silently on the matter,” he remarked.

On the occasion, other representatives of the lawyer bodies also echoed similar sentiments. The minister has hurt the public sentiment after calling the Ahmadi community as Muslims, they said.

The protesting lawyers also sought an apology from the law minister over his remarks.

The Final decision with Mawlana Sanaullah Amritsari by Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (1907)

Mirza Ghulam Ahmad published an advertisement labelled ‘Maulvi Sanaullah Sahib Amritsari ke saath aakhri faisla’, on 15 April 1907:

Transliteration :

“Maulvi Sanaullah Sahib Amritsari ke saath aakhri faisla

Maulvi Sanaullah visited Qadian

Intro
MGA was always under police protection.  However, sometimes, his critics would come to Qadian to confront him, Lekh Ram did this back in the mid-1880’s.  In this case, Maulvi Sanaullah came to Qadian, and MGA avoided him.

The Quote
‘Bismillah Al-Rehman Al-Raheem. To Janab Mirza Ghulam Ahmad Saheb, Raees-e-Qadian.        This humble self, according to your invitation mentioned in Aijaz-e-Ahmadi pp. 11-13, I am presently here in Qadian. Until now, Ramadhan prevented me from accepting your invitation, otherwise I would not have delayed it. I swear upon God that I do not have any personal grievance or animosity against you. Since according to you, you are appointed on such a high position which is for the guidance of all humanity in general and for sincere persons like me especially, therefore I firmly hope that you will not spare any effort to make me understand, and as promised, you will give me permission that I will express in front of people my thoughts about your prophecies. Once again I remind you of my sincerity and the trouble that I have taken to travel all the way, and by virtue of the grand position, please give me a chance.’ …. from Abu al-Wafa Sanaullah. dated 10th January 1903.’ (Tareekh-e-Mirza by Maulana Sanaullah Amratsari p. 61)

Mirza was stunned. He never thought in his wildest dreams that Molvi Sanaullah Saheb would ever come to Qadian. He replied, trying to avoid facing him. He wrote:

“I have promised God that I would never debate with those people (opponents). Thus that way which is quite far away from debates is that to clear this stage you will have to promise that you will not go out of the ‘Minhaj-e-Nabuwwat – way of the prophethood’ ……. 2nd condition is that you will not be allowed to speak at all. You will only give a written objection, one line or two lines, that this is your objection. Then in the gathering, a detailed reply would be given. For objection, there is no need to write in detail, just a line or two is enough. 3rd condition is that you would raise only ONE objection per day. Since you have not informed us of your coming, rather you have sneaked in like a thief, because of lack of free time and work of printing the book, we cannot spend more than three hours. Remember that this will never be allowed that you give a long lecture like a sermon in front of public, instead you will have to absolutely keep your mouth shut, as deaf and dumb, so that the talk does not turn into a debate. First you will ask only regarding one prophecy. For three hours I can give its reply, and at each you will be cautioned that even if now you are not satisfied then write it down. It would not be your task to let (people) hear your objection. We will read ourselves, but it should not be more than two or three lines. This way, you will not suffer, since you have come to clear your doubts, this way is excellent to remove doubts. I will announce to the people that regarding this prophecy, such and such doubt has come into the heart of Molvi Saheb, and this is its reply. This way all the doubts will be cleared. But if you want that like a debate you are allowed to talk, then this will never happen. (Mirza repeated the same conditions at least two more times in the next paragraph) …. From my side, I swear upon God, that I would not go out of this, and will not hear anything, you will not dare to utter a single word from your mouth. And I bind you also with the swear of God, that if you have come with a true heart, then be bound to it and do not spend your life in creating trouble and disturbance. And whosoever among the two of us, breaks this oath, then God’s curse be on him, and may God will that he sees the fruit of this curse in his life. Ameen….. by the pen of Mirza  Ghulam Ahmad by his own hand” (Tareekh-e-Mirza pp.62-64)

One would have thought that Molvi Sanaullah would have given up after reading such absurd conditions where he is not even allowed to say a single word. But Allah had given him long patience. He wrote back to Mirza Saheb:

“I received your long letter. Alas! what is the expectations of the whole country, same thing has happened. Respected Sir! When I have come according to your invitation mentioned in Aijaz-e-Ahmadi, and in clear words I have given reference of the same pages, then such long talk from you …. me dear Sir, it is so sad that on the one hand you invite me to come to do research, that I prove your prophecies wrong to get the cash reward Rs. 100 for each, and then in your letter you are binding me to write just one or two lines whereas for your self you propose to have three hours!!!

Is this the way of research that I write one or two lines and you make a speech for three hours? This shows clearly that you are now regretting having invited me, and is denying your own invitation, and refraining from research, for which you had invited me on page 23. Dear Sir! Did you invite me to your house write these two lines only? I could have done better sitting in Amratsir, and am doing it already. But remembering the troubles of my journey, I do not want to go empty handed, therefore I accept your injustice as well and will write only two three lines, and you can no doubt speak for three hours. However I would request this much alteration that I would read my two three lines to the audience, and after every hour of your speech, I would express my thoughts about your speech for 5 minutes, maximum 10 minutes. Since you do not like public audience, therefore the gathering from sides would be limited to 25 persons. You akin my coming without informing you to be like a thief! Is this how you greet your guests? There was no condition that you have to be informed in advance. Moreover, you would have received the news from heavens. Whatever speech you are going to make, kindly give it to me then, and proceedings will start from today. After I receive your reply, I will send you my brief question. As far as the talk about cursing is concern, it is the same which is mentioned in hadith…. from Sanaullah dated 11th January 1903” (Tareekh-e-Mirza p.65) (Hadith about Curse: If the person who has been cursed, does not deserve the curse, then it returns to the one who has cursed)

Mirza Ghulam A Qadiani did not reply to this letter, instead instructed his disciple Mohammed Ahsan Amrohi to write the reply:

“Molvi Sanaullah Saheb, your letter was read to Hazrat-e-Aqdas, Imam-uz-Zaman, Maseeh Mowood … since its contents were purely racist and hateful, which is far away from seeking the truth, therefore this reply is enough from Hazrat-e-Aqdas (Mirza) that you do not want to investigate the truth … Hazrat has sworn that he would not enter into any debate with his opponents, how can an appointee of Allah go against his promise of God?… therefore your proposals are absolutely not acceptable…. From Mohammed Ahsan by order of Hazrat Imam-uz-Zaman dated 11th January 1903” (Tareekh-e-Mirza p.66)

Molvi Sanaullah went back to Amratsir, continued his relentless campaign, exposing the lies and fraud of Mirza Ghulam A Qadiani in the name of Islam, in his newspaper, Ahle Hadith. This shook the whole building of Ahmadiyyat. Finally Mirza could not take it any more. He wrote the following letter and published it in an advertisement.

The Last Rejoinder with Molvi SanaullahPrayer of Mirza Ghulam, against his erstwhile opponent, Molvi Sanaullah Amratsari seeking judgment from Allah

“Dear Mr. Sanaullah. Salaam on those who follow the right path.  My rejection and disapproval has been going on for a long time in your magazine. You have always remembered me in your paper as Mardood, Liar, Dajjal, corrupt and have advertised me all over the world that i am a Fabricator and Dajjal, and Liar and that my claim of Maseeh Mowood is absolutely a Fabrication. …..If I am such a Liar and FAbricator, as you remember me in your paper, THEN I WILL DIE IN OUR LIFETIME, because i know that a LIAR and Corrupt does not have a long life and at last he dies as a failure within the lifetime of his fierce opponents with great humiliation and discontentment….If I am not a LIAR and FABRICATOR and is honored by the addresses of God and am Maseeh Mowood, then I hope by the Grace of God that according to the Tradition of God you will not be safe from the punishment of a LIAR. Thus that punishment which is not by human hands but only at the hands of God, such as Plague and Cholera etc. deadly diseases are not afflicted upon you than I AM NOT FROM GOD. This is not a prophecy because of inspiration or revelation, rather just as a prayer i have sought justice from God and I pray to God…. {O my Master! Baseer and Qadeer who is Aleem and Khabeer, who knows my inside the heart! If this claim of Maseeh Mowood is just a fabrication of my egotistical self, in Your Eyes I am Corrupt and Liar and day and night Fabrication is my business, then O my Beloved Master! I pray with great humility in your Presence that kill me in Molvi Sanaullah and with my death make him and his Jamaat happy. Ameen.

But O my Perfect and True God! If Molvi Sanaullah is not right in these allegations which he accuses me of, then kill him in my lifetime, BUT not by human hands, rather by Plague or Cholera deadly diseases, … but i see that his tongue has crossed all boundaries, he considers me worse than those thieves and dacoits….he considers me worse than the whole world and has spread about me in far away places that this man actually is corrupt and trader and Liar and fabricator and an extremely bad person….Thus now I am now taking refuge in you and requests you that make true judgment between me and Sanaullah. Whoever is in your eyes truly a Liar and corrupt, KILL HIM IN THE LIFETIME OF TRUTHFUL PERSON, or afflict him with some serious illness which is like death. O My Beloved Master! Do Just that. Ameen.”

Who is Syed Muhammad Hussain Batalvi? 1840-1920

Intro
Syed Muhammad Hussain Batalvi (1840-1920) was a contemporary of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad in the Punjab.  They were both born during the the last 8-9 years of Sikh rule and were under the Ramgharia Misl, which was annexed into the greater Sikh Empire in roughly 1816 by Ranjit Singh.  They were both educated by the same teachers as British rule began in roughly 1850.  Their parents also knew each other, when MGA’s family went to Batala, they always stayed at the ancestoral home of Syed Muhammad Hussain Batalvi.  They were both Ahl-e-Hadith Muslims aka Wahabis.  In 1878 Batalvi started the Ishaat us Sunnah magazine and gave MGA space to market his new book-series, the Braheen-e-Ahmadiyya.  In 1881, Batalvi gave MGA an exhaustive review and supported MGA’s work via the Ahl-e-Hadith.  In 1884, when MGA wanted to get married, Batalvi had a list of young girls with him and shared it with MGA, this is how they found out about the daughter of Mir Nasir Nawab.  The Ahl-e-Hadith grew weary of MGA in late 1884 and some even called MGA a Kafir, since MGA was boasting about divine revelations in his book series (the Braheen), neverthless, Batalvi stuck up for MGA yet again.  By 1889 they became enemies, since MGA claimed to be the second coming of Esa (as).  They organized debates with each other and jousted from their magazines until 1899, when the British government stepped in and absolved MGA and forced Batalvi to never insult MGA ever again (by calling him kafir or otherwise).  His disputes with Ahmadiyya seem to have ended here.  However, he did have a famous debate with a Quranist in 1902 and his sons were found at Qadian in 1910, later on they recanted and left Ahmadiyya.

The 1850’s
MGA and Batalvi used some of the same teachers and were classmates at many times, most likely in Batala.

1860–1869
Batalvi studied Hadith, logic and grammar from Molvi Syed Nazeer Husain (1805-1901).  The same Maulvi that read MGA’s nikkah in 1884.

1869
After his mother died, and MGA completed his punishment, MGA returned to Qadian from Sialkot.  MGA abruptly visits Batala and almost has a debate with Batalvi, however, MGA comments that he agrees with everything Batalvi is saying (see BA4, pages 399-400).  Batalvi  had finished his studies on islam and as now an imam-proper.  This entire scenario happened in a mosque in Batala (see Dard, page 54).

1878
He starts his newspaper, Ishaat us Sunnah, which runs until 1900 and then goes missing.  It seems to have been replaced with a new newspaper, the “Ahl-i-Hadis”.  Which was edited by Maulvi Sanaullah.

1882
MGA mentions batalvi in BA3, on page 7 of the online english edition.  They seem to be very good friends.  MGA claims that Batalvi works as a secretary of the Anjuman-i-Hamdardi Islamia, Lahore.  Which is most likely the Anjuman Himayat-i Islam.  Maybe out of respect, MGA wrote it the way he did.

1884-MGA mentioned Batalvi in BA4
On pages 399-400, MGA remembers his debate with Batalvi that never happened.

1884
Batalvi gives MGA’s Braheen-e-Ahmadiyya series a glowing review, however, after the 4th volume is published, the Ahl-e-Hadith Muslims call MGA a Kafir.  Batalvi sticks up for MGA in this era and claims that MGA is not claiming prophethood, only divine revelations.

1887
The magazine became quite popular and was recognized by notable scholars and Government Officials. When Sir Charles Umpherston Aitchison, Governor of the Punjab from 1882-1887, left the area in April 1887, he gave Muhammad Hussain, a certificate testifying to his ability and learning. Muhammad Hussain proudly records this fact (See ‘ Isha‘atus Sunnah’ Vol. 20, No. 3).

1888
MGA mentions Batalvi on page 20 of “The Green Announcement”.  They seem to still be friends up to this point.  MGA even refers to him an “eminent person”, we are not sure what the Urdu word is here for “eminent person”.

1889
Batalvi begins to question MGA and his claims of being the second coming of Esa (as).  This spills over into the early part of 1890.

1891
A full blown war breaks out between MGA and Batalvi.  They arrange to debate each other in Ludhiana, however, MGA requests the British government to intervene and save him.  This debate lasted for twelve days, from 20 July – 31 July 1891.  The venue was the ‘Masjid Awanan’ (Awana’s Mosque) at Ludhiana.  This was a written debate, wherein someone other then MGA read out MGA’s (alleged) writings.  The written papers of both sides were later published by MGA as Al-Haq Mubahathah Ludhiana (Urdu). [i.e. Truth: the Ludhiana Debate].  Batalvi goes around the Punjab and gets the majority of the Ulema to pass a Fatwa of Kufr on MGA.

1892
MGA mentions Batalvi extensively in his book, ‘Nishan Asmani’ in english as “Heavenly Signs”.

March 17th, 1892
On roughly March 17th, 1891, MGA predicts that Batalvi would die in 40 days time or would suffer a major tragedy.  It expires on April 27th and Batalvi is fine, Batalvi then writes about it in his newspaper, this prediction isn’t published by MGA until 1893, in a book called, Aina Kamalat e Islam at page 601-604.

May 4th, 1893
MGA publishes a prophecy about Batalvi, that would he repent and stop calling MGA a Kafir and etc (see page 39).  Ahmadi’s claim that this was fulfilled when the British Government ordered him to never call MGA or Ahmadi’s as Kafirs ever again in 1899 and it was manifested in 1911-1913 era, when he was called to court to testify about Ahmadi’s.

Oct-Dec 1898
He claims that MGA broke the law and conducted a prophecy vs. himself.  Even though MGA is guilty, the British government absolves MGA.  MGA issues another prophecy against Batalvi, MGA claims that Batalvi will be disgraced by Feb 1900.

1902
Ahmadiyya sources tell us that In November of 1902 a debate took place between Muhammad
Hussain Batalavi and ‘Abdullah Chakrhalavi on the importance and position of the Holy Quran and the hadith.  Chakrhalavi was the founder of the Ahl-e-Quran sect of North India, he died in 1931.

1905
In Lecture Ludhiana, MGA mentions Batalvi, and even says that he visited Qadian often from roughly 1855–1889.  MGA also mentions the case of 1898 wherein Capt. Le Marchand saved MGA from going to jail.

1907
MGA and his team publish a dream of MGA wherein it seems that Batalvi will convert to Ahmadiyya. It seems that MGA was still hoping that Batalvi would eventually accept MGA as the Messiah (See 2009 Online edition of Tadhkirah, pages 949-950).

1910
2 of his children seem to have been taken to Qadian by Ahmadi’s and forcibly converted to Ahmadiyya.  Later on they recanted.  He also appears as a witness in some Ahmadiyya related cases.

1920
Batalvi dies.

1931
Ahmadi’s publish: “Batalvi Ka Anjam” by Mir Qasim Ali.

1937
The son of Batalvi writes a book about MGA called “The useless Prophet”.

2019
Via twitter, Ahmadi’s share info that some of the great grandsons of Batalvi have become Ahmadi.

Mirza Ghulam Ahmad’s Diary

Intro
Mirza Ghulam Ahmad seems to have kept a diary, and most likely a “diary-writer”, since MGA couldn’t write very well, since he broke his arm as a teenager.  The 2nd Khalifa, Mirza Basheeruddin Mahmud Ahmad also admitted to keeping a diary writer as he was in court in 1953, he denied some interesting writings from his own diary and blamed an entire entry on having a new “diary-writer”.  MGA most likely used Mufti Muhammad Sadiq, Noorudin and many others.

A quotation that proves that MGA’s diary existed
On 25th April 1907, following page of Mirza Ghulam A Qadiani’s daily diary was published in Akhbar al-Badr, Qadian:

“Whatever has been written by Sanaullah, actually its foundation has been laid down by God. Once I meditated towards God about it and in the night I received this inspiration (ujeebo dawat adDaaee). For Sufis the big miracle is acceptance of prayers, rest is all its branches.” (Akhbar alBadr Qadian, 25th 1907, p.7 Column 3)

“Ishaat-us-Sunnah”–the Ahle hadith newspaper, some quotes

Intro
As everyone knows, this was the famous “Ahl-e-Hadith” newspaper that made MGA popular and gave him an opportunity to do free marketing.  In February of 1878 he started publishing the magazine Isha‘atus Sunnah. It was a voice of the Ahle Hadith movement in the Punjab of the time. The magazine became quite popular and was recognized by notable scholars and Government Officials. When Sir Charles Umpherston Aitchison, Governor of the Punjab from 1882-1887,[7] left the area in April 1887, he gave Muhammad Hussain, a certificate testifying to his ability and learning. Muhammad Hussain proudly records this fact.[8]

I present some interesting quotes in the below.  Muhammad Husain’s request for a Mubahila vs. MGA may be seen in his lsha‘atus-Sunnah No. 3, Vol. 18, p. 77, 1. 11: No. 12, Vol. 14, pp. 338-339; No. 7, Vol. 18, p. 197, 11. 6-8.

Quotes
May 1881
Ahmadiyya sources claim that Batalvi published a notice in his magazine which indicated that Braheen-e-Ahmadiyya Vol. 1 was published (see Dard, page 90).  Isha‘atus-Sunnah No. 4. Vol. 2, pages 3 and 4.

1883
“””‘In our opinion, from the point of view of the modern age, this book stands unique in the
history of Islam. No book has ever been published like it in the past, and we cannot say
anything about the future, which is known only to God. The perseverance of the author in the
service of Islam, through his life, his energy, pen, tongue, and every form of activity is almost unprecedented amongst Muslims. This should not be taken as Asiatic exaggeration. We
challenge anyone to show us the like of this book.'”””” (Isha‘atus-Sunnah. vol. 6, Nos. 6-11).

“Some of our Muslim brothers believe that the present misfortunes of the followers of Islam cannot be removed without the sword. It is no use acquiring worldly education. However, looking at the present condition of the Muslims, this belief appears improbable.”
“Brethren! the age of the sword is no more. Now instead of the sword it is necessary to wield the pen. How can the sword come into the hands of the Muslims when they have no hands. They have no national identity or existence. In such a useless and weak condition, to consider them as a nation is to exceed the imagination of Shaikh Chilli (a proverbial, comical figure in Urdu fiction).” (Isha’at-as-Sunnah, vol. 6, no. 12, December 1883, p. 364).

1884
“In our opinion, in this age and in view of the present circumstances, this is such a book that the like of it has not been written up to this time in Islam. … Its author … has proved himself firm in helping the cause of Islam, with his property, with his pen and tongue and his personal religious experience, to such an extent that an example of it is rarely met with among the Muslims who have gone before … who, besides helping Islam … have also come forward with
their religious experiences and have proclaimed, as against the opponents of Islam and the deniers of revelation, the manly challenge that whoever doubted the truth of
revelation might come … and witness the truth thereof and who have made non-Muslims taste of the same” (Isha‘atus-Sunnah, vol. 7, June-Nov., 1884, Batala, India)(See also Lahori-Ahmadi website and this book, page 10: http://www.aaiil.org/text/books/mga/selectionsdiscoursesexhortationspromisedmessiah/selectionsdiscoursesexhortationspromisedmessiah.pdf)

Batalvi wrote about MGA as follows: that I (MGA) lead a highly pure and virtuous life, love truth and am one of the most ardent well wishers of the British Government.(Isha’at us Sunnah, No. 9, Vol. 7).

1886
Maulawi Muhammad Husain devoted about 14 pages of his paper to this book and instead of reviewing it he gave quotations which he said spoke for themselves. He asked every Muslim to buy ten or twenty copies of the book for distribution amongst the Hindus so that the hostile activities of the Arya Samaj against Islam might be checked.  MGA’s book was Surmah Chashma Arya(Isha‘atus-Sunnah Vol. 9, No. 5 and No. 6, pp. 145-158)(See Hidden Treasures).

May-June-1888
See Hidden Treasures, pages 23-24.

“””The author of the Barahin-e-Ahmadiyyah is well-known to us. In fact, few know more about his thoughts, aspirations and circumstances etc. than we do. He belongs to our district, and when
young, attended the same course and the same instruction with us. Since those days we have corresponded, communicated and conferred with him regularly. Nobody, therefore, should take it an exaggeration if we say that we know the author and his circumstances rather well.”””Volume 11, No. 6, pages 6-11.

1889 and 1890
“Isha’at al-Sunnah 12 (1889): 353-388; 13(1890): 1-100, under the titles, “A Discourse with the imaginary Messiah Mirza of Qadiyan”  (Khayali masih Mirza Qadiyani se guft o gu) and “A discourse with the fictitious apostle” (farazi hawari se guft o gu).  An account of the debate itself was published in the same journal, 13(1890): 115–326.”

Dec 1889
Maulawi Muhammad Husain of Batala, a great friend of MGA, was also much perturbed. Fath-e-Islam was being printed at the Riaz-e-Hind Press, Amritsar, he happened to go there and saw the proofs of it. He wrote a letter on January 31st, 1891, asking whether MGA had really claimed to be the Promised Messiah.  Ahmadas thought it sufficient to write only ‘Yes’
in answer. Muhammad Husain had asked him to say Yes or No.  (Isha‘atus Sunnah, Vol. 12, No. 12).

January 1890
Batalvi and MGA go back and forth on his claims.
(Isha‘atus Sunnah, No. 1, Vol. 13).

Jan-1890
Batalvi says that since it was he who had thus raised him (MGA) in the eyes of the masses, so now he was under obligation to bring Ahmad down for his fresh claims.  Isha’at-us-Sunnah, Vol-13, No.1, page. 4.

March 1890
“Dear readers it is 30th April 1892 today , three days have passed after the expiry of 40 days time line. I am flourishing and am better than Mirza in health, wealth and in children. Maybe Mirza would justify his failed prophesy by telling his Mureeds that It was meant a metaphoric AZAB would fall on me on qayamah or he could say look Batalvi felt great distress during fasting or see Batalvi’s son has suffered from cold and cough and in this way my prophesy has fulfilled with extreme grace.”” (Vol. 13, No. 3).

Dec 1891
“””‘If you are a man and have any courage, then prove both your claims in an assembly of
learned men—you will not come into the field—I challenge you to a Mubahila. Come out into the field of Mubahila and take an oath”””. (Vol. 14, No. 12 p. 338).

Jan-1892
“”Otherwise He [God] would send down the severest punishment upon you and drive you to destruction””” (Isha’at-us-Sunnah, Vol. 15, No. 1, p. 15. and also Vol 18, No. 7, p. 215.)

1892
MGA claims that Batalvi mischievously accuses my wife of adultery and says that it has been revealed to his friend Mullah Muhammad Bakhsh that my wife shall have unlawful connection with my followers and, becoming loose, shall get a divorce from me and marry the said mullah. (Vol. 15, No. 7, p. 215).

1892
Batalvi gives MGA permission to give a death prophecy against him.
(Isha‘atus Sunnah Vol. 15, No. 8. p.170).

1893
“””That the Qadiani is a Dajjal of this time, a second Musailma, perfidious, deceiver, cheat,
liar and impostor, and that he is the enemy of the faith of Islam and all other heavenly faiths.””” (Vol. 16, No. 1, p. 6.).

1895
“”””Mirza Saheb started scolding Hindus and their ladies in volumes of Braheen other literature and advertisements. On page 19 of his book, Shuhna-e-Haq, he writes: ‘ You are not going to give me the hand of your daughters that you are investigating my property’. In his book, Surma Chasme Arya, he mentioned Arya girls in bad language and abused their idols. Moreover he started intimidating Hindus in his Inspirations. Such things made Hindus furious and a source of permanent animosity.”””” (Isha’at us Sunnah vol. 18 p.13-14).

“”And when he (Lekhram) was murdered, and in assigning the cause of his murder the public
differed, the Hindus got an excuse for saying that the above mentioned revelation of the
inspired murderer Mirza Ghulam Ahmad was the cause of his murder and they published it as
certain that their representative had been murdered by the Mirza to fullfil his own
revelation. Some Hindus alleged that other Muhammadans were also involved in the conspiracy of murder and wrote that as the Muhammadans had been unsuccessful in the
prosecution of the Pandit so they obtained a fatwa of his murder from the mullahs.””
(Isha‘atus-Sunnah Vol. 18, No. 1, p. 14).

“””To calm the excitement of the Hindus, which has passed due limits, I ask them—and this is a
sure remedy for putting a stop to all disturbances—to give up the certainty that the murderer was a Muhammadan and to think also of the probability of the murderer being a Hindu. The reason for this is that the Hindus had been injured to the same extent by the abuses of the pandit as the Muhammadans and, in the words of the Editor of the Akhbar-e-‘Am who is himself a pandit, Lekhram used to abuse Hindu saints in the same harsh tone as the Muhammadan saints and that therefore an orthodox Hindu or an orthodox Muhammadan may equally be suspected of his murder. There is no reason, therefore that a Muslim be specified for such suspicion. And the private reason of this murder has also been published in newspapers; and the Civil and Military Gazette, which is a neutral paper, remarks that it is possible that after all the murder may only have been a private one.””” (Isha‘atus-Sunnah Vol. 18, No. 1, p. 16).

“””Had we been under Muslim rule, we would have given you (Ahmad) a proper reply. We

would have at once cut off your head with a sword and made you a dead body”””. (Vol. 18, No. 3, p. 95).

MGA claims that Muhammad Hussain charges me with a false accusation and instigates the Ahl-e- Hadith, a sect of which he is the leader, to murder me. He also got it published through some men of his party that carrying away my wife and the wives of my followers forcibly was meritorious. I have got this Ishtihar and request that it may be filed.(Vol. 18, No. 3. p. 95).

“””Have pity on the creatures of God and give up stratagems. Either accept Islam—or prove by means of a controversy or a Mubahala that these articles of faith which you profess do not
lead to Kufr.””””(Vol. 18, No. 3, p. 77 See also Vol. 17, No, 12, p. 384; Vol. 18, No. 4, p. 132).

MGA claims that Muhammad Hussain incites Muslims against me while speaking of the Sultan of Turkey. He writes that I do not regard the Sultan as the rightful Caliph, and religious
leader of the Muslims. Over the Sultan’s rule Muhammad Hussain opposed me and took the
contrary view, while Sir Sayyid Ahmad Khan in his paper, dated July 24th, 1897, took my
side and rejected the views of my opponents. (Vol. 18, No. 5, p.143).

“”””Mirza is ready to carry the filth and dirt of the Christians and to rub his face on their shoes.
He has given to the British Government the dignity of God. This donkey of an Antichrist
has published such nonsense regarding His Majesty the Sultan that one has a strong desire
that this Satan of impure mind … should be beaten with shoes two hundred times. Curse on
this offspring of a dog! He should rather have become an open apostate to Christianity than
use contemptuous words for the Sultan. I have made five prophecies about him:

(1) The Qadiani shall be involved in a serious case and shall be banished or charged and thrown into prison.
(2) While in prison, he shall go mad.
(3)  He shall suffer from a fistula.
(4) He shall become a leper and his figure shall be deformed.
(5) His wife shall have unlawful connection with his disciples and, after getting a divorce from him, shall marry me. Maulawi Abu Sa‘id Muhammad Husain will pronounce the marriage sermon.
(6) Eventually the Mirza shall become blind, deaf and dumb and, committing suicide, shall be thrown into hell.””””” (Vol. 18. No. 5, pp. 150, 154,155).

MGA claims that his character was showing the character of the foul and grossly vulgar language used form and the vile attacks made on MGA.
(Vol. 18, No: 5, pp. 154-155).

MGA claims that Batalvi called him a mad elephant, thirsty for the blood of Muslims,
disloyal, traitorous and rebel; again in Vol. 16 p. 116, he calls me a murderer and a
dacoit; and in his fatwa of Takfir, he calls me kafir, heretic, apostate, innovator, Dajjal,
accursed, impostor and deceiver. All these papers are herewith attached.(Vol. 18, pp. 85,
120, 161, 165, 180.).

“””Having expressed many a time my readiness to have a Mubahala with him, I prevented his having recourse to a challenge for Mubahila. I showed the mischief contained in the conditions added by him to a Mubahila—when these machinations of his were broken and he was left helpless he devised another plan which he published in his Ishtihar of May 19th, 1897,
viz. both parties should pray to God without coming into the presence of each other. This
showed clearly that he was unable to have a Mubahila with me in my presence, and that
therefore no one should go to him in Qadian. I accepted this method also.””” (Vol. 18, No. 7, p.
197).

“””Otherwise He would send down the severest punishment upon you and drive you to
destruction”””(Vol. 15, No. 1, p. 15. See also Vol. 18, No. 7, p. 215).

“””I do not regard the Mirza as the murderer of Lekhram, nor do I believe in his being involved
in the conspiracy of murder.””””(Vol. 18, No. 9, p. 265).

April 1898
Sir Charles Umpherston Aitchison, Governor of the Punjab from 1882-1887, left the area in April 1887, he gave Muhammad Hussain, a certificate testifying to his ability and learning. Muhammad Hussain proudly records this fact (See ‘ Isha‘atus Sunnah’ Vol. 20, No. 3).

September 1899
Batalvi talks about his children.
(Isha‘atus Sunnah, Vol. 22 No. 8, pp. 225, 226).

Sections of the book

  1. pp 1 33- : Polemical question/answers:
    1. Murder attempts were made on Atham and the author says that since Atham did not go to the police, he was afraid from inside. Muhammad Hussain Batalvi said that since Atham openly declared the attempts to be orchestrated by Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, the latter should have filed a criminal complaint against him.
    2. People left MGA when he prophecied the death of Atham. MGA responds with saying that Jesus promised to restore the throne of David but did not. He uses very aggressive language but with the caveat that he is talking about the ‘Jesus who claimed to be God and not the Jesus of the Quran’.
    3. In addition to attacking Atham, he attacks Christians in general and says:Sadly this was the first instance to determine the integrity of the Christians but none of them cared for the truth. Even the editor of the Civil and Military Gazette, who claimed to be unbiased and straightforward, told a dirty lie on this occasion. I am not sad about Hasam-ud-Din as these people who join the ranks of the Padres (priests) are usually puppets of lies and insects who feed on filth. They have no natural shame nor fear of God.
    4. Gloating over Atham’s death –See how today the reality of the prophecy has been laid out. Didn’t all of them die today who put Atham on a vehicle and paraded him through the streets of Amritsar? Hasn’t it been proven today that all their happiness was false?
    5. In response to a question from Shuhna Hind paper in Meerath (1 September 1896) about MGA claiming to be a prophet:How can a person who believes in the Quran . . . that I am a prophet or messenger after Muhammad(saw). . . . I have never claimed in real terms to be a prophet or messenger; and using a word in its non-real meaning, and using its dictionary meaning in normal conversation does not obligate ‘kufr’. However, I don’t even like that as there is a chance that common Muslims will be deceived by it. But I cannot hide the conversation of God to me that frequently uses the words of prophet and messenger, as I am an appointed one. I repeatedly say that the word ‘mursal’ (messenger) or ‘rasool’ or ‘nabi’ (prophet) used for me in those revelations is not used in its real sense (common usage) – and the real truth to which I bear solemn witness is that our Prophet Muhammad(saw) is the ‘khatam-ul-anbiyaa’ and no prophet will come after him – old or new. . . . Sometimes, the revelations of God, some words are used about some of His friends (saints) in allegory and similitude, and are not based on fact. The whole quarrel which foolish and biased (people) have dragged in a different direction: the name of the coming promised messiah stated from the blessed tongue of Muhammad(saw) as quoted in Sahih Muslim etc. – i.e. prophet of Allah – is in the spirit of the same accepted allegorical usage in the books of Sufis (reference to ibn Arabi) and a common idiom for communication with God. Otherwise, what prophet after the Khatam-al-Anbiya (Last Prophet).
    6. p.28:
    7. Best way to resolve this is by way of Mubahila (prayer duel) and invites Fateh Maseeh by name.
  2. pp 34-44: A good way for the priests of Punjab and India to solve the issue
    1. Cartoon of Trinity
    2. MGA invites one of the following Christian priests: Dr. Martin ClarkImad-ud-Din, Thakar Das, Hasam-ud-Din, Safdar Ali Bhandara, Thomas Howell, or Fateh Maseeh
    3. Christians eat pigeons with relish although the pigeon is their God (Holy Spirit). Hindus are better as they do not eat their God, the bull.
    4. Offers to gather in a field (Mubahila) and let the wrath of God descend on the person opposite. Offers 10,000 rupees (3,000 advance) in case nothing happens to the opposite person within one year.
  3. Challenge of Mubahila to Muslim scholars
    1. Declares Nazir Hussain of Delhi to be the originator of the declaration of ‘kufr’ against MGA
    2. pp. 51-62 : samples of Arabic revelations from God
    3. My claim is based on two aspects: Quran/Hadith and my revelations. You have not accepted Quran/Hadith, now let us come to the challenge of my revelations. This is how it will work: I will write down all these Arabic revelations on a paper and come to a field and pray God to kill me or send a terminal disease in one year if these revelations are fake, as I do not want to misguide people.
    4. pp. 69-72 and 283: Names of Islamic scholars invited. See Contemporary Muslim Scholars
  4. pp. 73-282: Arabic with Persian translation
  5. pp. 283-284: Arabic rejoinder to the editor of the Civil and Military Gazette
  6. Appendix: Atham and the prophecy (in response to Fateh Maseeh:If any of the prophecies of Jesus, the dead god of Christians, is proven to be equal in weight to this (Atham’s death) prophecy, I will pay any sort of fine. What were the prophecies of that helpless person? Only this that earthquakes and droughts will happen and there will be battles? May God’s curse be on those minds who took these prophecies as evidence of his divinity and made a dead person their god. Don’t earthquakes happen all the time? and droughts occur all the time? Isn’t there some war going on somewhere all the time? Then why did this foolish Israeli (Jesus was of the progeny of the Biblical Israel) term these normal occurrences as prophecies? Only because the Jews were after him? When they asked for a miracle, Jesus replied that these adulterous and promiscuous people ask me for a miracle . . . see how Jesus sidetracked them . . . now someone would have to be adulterous and promiscuous to ask for a miracle . . .
    1. the author then goes on to describe the low moral character of Jesus (lying and relationship with prostitutes and being the offspring of prostitutes, etc.) and then ends by saying, ‘Quran does not mention anything about Jesus’ life’ and had Fateh Maseeh not insulted Muhammad(saw), he would not have insulted Jesus.
    2. pp. 299-301: advertisement about a conference in Town Hall, Lahore, where the author’s paper will be read.
    3. pp. 307-308: Maulvi Sanaullah Amritsari has said, after my current call to Mubahila, ‘what happened to your Mubahila with Abdul Haq Ghaznavi? If, by these words, Maulvi Sanaullah means that as the Christians, after the duration of the (Atham) prophecy, made a lot of noise in Amritsar and the unclean group of Christians were dancing in the street like courtesans; and all priests and their like-minded maulvis and some filthy-natured newspapermen were all abusing me and calling me all sorts of things – that all this was the effect of the Abdul Haq mubahila? . . . . so all that show of happiness that the filthy and lewd people had over Atham, the same happiness is now turned to shame and disappointment. Now find him – where is Atham? Is he not in his grave as a result of the prophecy? Has he not been dropped into Hawia (hell)? . . . . the second matter that raised my respect after the said Mubahila (with Abdul Haq) are the pamphlets that I wrote in Arabic . . . (see Plagiarism for a discussion of the author’s Arabic books). . . . the sixth matter that was the cause of my respect and embarrassment for Abdul Haq after the mubahila was that Abdul Haq advertised that he will have a son . . . I have been blessed by a son as prophecied . . . (see elsewhere for MGA’s failed prophecies of sons) . . . and Abdul Haq should be asked where is the son that was the blessing of the mubahila? Did he dissolved inside the womb, or regressed back into sperm?
    4. pp. 320-324: Letter from Ghulam Fareed of Chachran Sharif
    5. pp. 324-328:Shaikh Ali Hamza bin Ali Malik Al-Toosi, in his book Jawahir-al-Israr published in 840 A.H. writes this about the Promised Mahdi: ‘(Farsi) It is in Arbaeen that the Mahdi will merge from Kad’ah. (Arabic – Hadith): Said the Prophet (saw): the Mahdi will arise from a village known as Kad’ah and Allah the Exalted will verify him and will gather his companions from the far reaches of the land – on the number of those of Badr, 313 men – and with him will be a written book (or printed) in which will be the numbers of his companions with their names, places and occupations.’The author then goes on to print the names of these 313, at least one of which is duplicate and a few are ambiguous and many are already dead at the time of this writing. You can view the list here.
    6. p.338Remember that the second part of this prophecy (about Muhammadi Begum‘s husband) is not fulfilled then I will stand as the worst of the worst. O stupid people, it is not the fabrication of man, not the business of an evil forger. Surely know that this is the true promise of God – the same God whose words cannot be circumvented – the same Lord of Glory whose intent no one can stop. You have lost the knowledge of His ways and methods, and that is why you faced this tribulation. In Braheen-e-Ahmadiyya 17 years ago, there was an indication of this prophecy and it is the revelation on page 496 of the book: ‘O Adam abide you and your spouse in the garden; O Maryam abide you and yourspouse in the garden; O Ahmad abide you and your spouse in the garden.’ The word spouse is mentioned three times and I was named in three ways: the first name was Adam when Allah the Exalted gave me a spiritual form with His own hand, and the first wife was mentioned at that time. Then he named me Maryam at the time of the second wife as I was given blessed children at the time who resembled the Messiah and, also, I had to face many tribulations at the time just as Mary was put into trial with the bad assumptions of the Jews at the time of the birth of Eesa(as). And now the third wife is awaited and the word ‘Ahmad’ has been associated with it and this word is an indication that there will be praise and adulation in this time. This is a hidden prediction whose secret God has opened upon me now. Thus this mention of ‘spouse’ with three different names points to this prophecy.(MGA never married the third time, and had to suffer humiliation because of his pursuit of Muhammadi Begum even when she was married to someone else).
    7. p.342I hear with sadness that this Ghaznavi group that is maligning Islam and who live in Amritsar are saying to people that: the unfortunate Muhammad Saeed of Delhi who left my following and his brother Kabeer who died in Maleer Kotla in December 1896 are the effect of the mubahilawith Abdul Haq. Now Muslims – see what Satanic fabrications this are being employed by these dark-hearted group of Ghaznavi’s followers.
    8. p. 344:Now Abdul Haq Ghaznavi should eat something and kill himself that God is showing my respect to hundreds of thousands of people, and which is humiliation for him. The filthy person should think whether this is the effect of the mubahila? or that his (AHG) brother should die and he should take over control of his old wife as the sign of success in the mubahila.

MGA wrote his book entitled, “The Review of the Debate with Batalvi and Chakrhalvi”, its a book of roughly 11 pages and now in english.  The details of the debate can be found in the issue no. 5, v. 19, pages 141-231.  (See Hidden Treasures, since this seems to point towards 1896).

Not a clerical error: Someone in PML-N deliberately altered Khatam-e-Nabuwwat clause

Intro
Ahmadis cannot be trusted by any government in the world, except the British.  Ahmadis are forced to make allegiance to their Khalifa, hence, everything they do in their personal life, it is per the orders of the Mirza family.  Zafrullah Khan did exactly that from the 1920’s to the 1980’s.  However, he didn’t have any children, he seems to have been a homosexual, which is totally ok by me.  Nonetheless, you would have thought that a man as rich as him would have tried to have 10+ children. Nonetheless, he spent his entire life in service to the Mirza family and with British support.  He helped the British partition India and helped Ahmadiyya secure a headquarters, aka Rabwah.  Recently, in a sneaky move, some Ahmadis seem to have penetrated government offices an attempted to alter a clause which forces Ahmadis to identify themselves.  Read the story: https://www.pakistantoday.com.pk/2017/10/14/not-a-clerical-error-someone-in-pml-n-deliberately-altered-khatam-e-nabuwwat-clause/

The story

An investigation initiated by the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) into the controversy surrounding the amendment to the Khatam-e-Nabuwwat declaration for electoral candidates has revealed that the clause was deliberately altered, contrary to claims made by some party leaders that it was a clerical mistake, a report in the local media said on Saturday.

On October 7, PML-N President Nawaz Sharif had formed a three-member committee to probe the issue of alteration in the Khatam-e-Nabuwwat (Finality of Prophethood) Declaration Clause in Electoral Reforms Bill 2017 and ordered a report to be submitted within 24 working hours.

Headed by Leader of the House in Senate Raja Zafarul Haq, the committee included Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal and Federal Minister for Climate Change Mushahidullah Khan.

According to the Express Tribune, Raja Zafarul Haq has confirmed that a deliberate attempt was made to alter the clause, and that the PML-N chief had been apprised about the committee’s findings. He refused to share details of the findings with the paper.

Mushahidullah Khan also confirmed to the paper that the report had been sent to Sharif, but refused to reveal the findings. He said it was up to the PML-N president to take a decision.

Earlier this month, Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif had advised his elder brother to kick the person responsible for the blunder out of the federal cabinet. Prior to this demand of stern action against the individuals responsible, the federal government tried its best to downplay the entire episode by quickly reversing the amendment and calling it a clerical mistake.

It was after Shehbaz’s demand for a stern action that Nawaz decided to form a three-member committee.

On Friday, during a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Law and Order, Shehbaz Sharif reiterated his statement that the government firmly believed in the Finality of Prophethood of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

He said the federal government had restored the oath statement of Khatam-e-Nabuwwat to its original form and a committee was also constituted by the PML-N president to conduct immediate investigation.

The statement from Shehbaz on Friday was not just in the backdrop of the amendment controversy, but was also meant to contain the damage done after Law Minister Rana Sanaullah’s controversial statement regarding the Ahmedi community that brought him into the limelight for all the wrong reasons and got his membership of the Lahore High Court Bar Association cancelled.
