Professor Humphrey J. Fisher and J. Spencer Trimingham called Ahmadiyya a “maritime implantation” in West Africa

Intro

Professor Humphrey J. Fisher wrote “Ahmadiyyah: A study in contemporary Islam on the West African coast” (1963), London, Oxford University Press.  He was the first person to write extensively about Ahmadiyya in West Africa and other parts of Africa.  He presented enough information to prove that the British Government was helping Ahmadiyya convert Orthodox Muslims.  He also called Ahmadiyya a parasite to Orthodox Islam.  He even called the grave of Yuz Asaf as a “gimmick”.

Hanson tells us
“The postwar expansion of Ahmadi missionaries from South Asia led Humphrey Fisher to stress external control of the movement in West Africa and J Spencer Trimingham to argue that the Ahmadiya was a ‘maritime implantation’ in West Africa. Both Trimingham and Fisher allowed the changes of the mid-twentieth century to obscure their view of African initiative in the movement’s genesis in the West Africa.”

Zafrullah Khan’s career defending Ahmadiyya started in 1921, as he visited Rufus Isaacs, the Governor-General of India

Intro
The Ahmadiyya Movement has always been pro-British, since MGA was always pro-British.  In June of 1921, the Ahmadiyya Khalifa sent a delegation of Ahmadi’s to Simla to schmooze the Governor-General of India, The Earl of Reading, Rufus Daniel Isaacs, 1st Marquess of ReadingGCBGCSIGCIEGCVOPC (10 October 1860 – 30 December 1935).  This would be Zafrullah Khan’s first time working with the British via Ahmadiyya, but not his last.

The history of Ahmadiyya in Liberia (Africa)

Intro

The British government allowed the Mirza family free reign in Africa.  After WW-1 and WW-2, the British came to gain many territories in Africa, some taken from the French, Italians, Germans and others.  Nevertheless, the British used Ahmadiyya and the Mirza family to spread their tentacles in Africa.  We have covered Ahmadiyya in the Gambia and other places, sees the links at the very bottom.

Liberian Rubber during WW-2
Apart from Ceylon (present day Sri Lanka) and the Belgian Congo, Liberia possessed one of the few remaining sources of rubber for the Allies. To guarantee a steady supply of rubber from the world’s largest rubber plantation, operated at Harbel by the Firestone Company since 1926, the US government built roads throughout the country, created an international airport (known as Robertsfield Airport), and transformed the capital, Monrovia, by building a deep water port (the Freeport of Monrovia).  In 1944, with its entry into the war, Liberia adopted the US dollar and became one of only four countries in Africa to join the newly formed United Nations.

After WW-2, 1948
It seems that Liberia was a puppet state of the USA.  Their history is unclear.

1952
Ahmadiyya was introduced to Liberia during the era of the Second Caliphate, the movement today represents an estimated 10% of the country’s Muslim population, which should be 85,000 people.  However, this number seems dubious and devoid of proper research.  The earliest known record of an Ahmadiyya missionary in Liberia dates back to the 1950s, when Mufti Muhammad Sadiq, a missionary based in Sierra Leone at that time, visited Liberia in the spring of 1952. Staying in the country for a period of one month, Sadiq took the opportunity to meet the President of LiberiaWilliam Tubman and presented an English translation of the Quran as well as other Islamic literature.[2][3] However, the Ahmadiyya movement was first established four later, by Muhammad Ishaq Sufi. As per instruction of Caliph Mirza Basheer-ud-Din Mahmood Ahmad, Sufi arrived in the capital Monrovia on 6 January 1956. A year later, on 12 June 1957, Sufi met with President Tubman as well, this time in his presidential palace.[2][3]

1970
As part of his tour of West Africa during the early period of his reign, the third caliph of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Mirza Nasir Ahmad, visited Liberia. Invited by President Tubman, the caliph arrived at the Roberts International Airport, just outside the nation’s capital, Monrovia, for a two-day visit on April 29, 1970. Accompanied by a special representative of the president, Colonel Henri R. Gobson, and also a number of Governors, the caliph journeyed to the president’s Executive Mansion and conferred in a private audience with the president. Later, the Ahmadiyya mission invited the caliph for a dinner, at the now defunct Ducor Hotel. The following day, he returned to a dinner at the Executive Mansion tendered by the president in his honor, during which the president described him as “one of the greatest leaders in Islam”. On May 1, 1970, the caliph left the country.[4][5][6][7]

The fourth caliph, Mirza Tahir Ahmad, visited Liberia between January 31 and February 2 1988.[3]

The history of Ahmadiyya in Mauritius

Intro
Ahmadiyya ideologies were promoted by the British government all over their vast empire.  Especially after WW-1 (1919) and WW-2 (1945).  On the 27th July 1928: Hafiz Jamal Ahmad was sent to Mauritius as a missionary. He spent the next 21 years serving there, propagating the message of Islam on this island. He passed away on 27 December 1949 and was buried there. On his demise, the 2nd Khalifa said about Mauritius, “Blessed is that land where one as supremely resolute and pious as him is buried”.

Statistics showing Systematic Over-representation of Ahmadis in the bureaucracy of Pakistan by Charles H. Kennedy

Intro
Charles H. Kennedy did lots of research on Ahmadiyya from a neutral position.  He exposed Ahmadi’s as they planned the terrorist attacks of May 29th, 1974.  He wrote:  ‘Towards the Definition of a Muslim in Islamic State: The Case of the Ahmadiyya in Pakistan’.  Kennedy shows how Ahmadis were systematically over-represented in the Federal bureaucracy of Pakistan.  In the back of the book, Kennedy shows how Ahmadi’s had totally infiltrated government jobs by 1982 via official Pakistan census reports.  Furthermore, the Mirza family loves the persecution, they have always called it as free press.  Brush showed similar rates of over-representation back in 1955.  Ahmadiyya ideas were then pushed upon Africa, as the colonist looked to indoctrinate an entire generation of Africans to obey the British.

A QUOTE
“there is evidence that Ahmadis are over-represented in the civilian bureaucracy. An examination of Table 2 reveals that Ahmadis are over-represented in the bureaucracy by a factor of three to eight times their proportional population base.

An explanation of this data
Prior to the constitutional amendments in 1974, Ahmadis had systematically gained posts in high ranking position through corruption and nepotism within the Pakistani politics. Zafarullah Khan and Abdus Salam in a coordinated attempt systematically favored Ahmadis and brought them in high positions in order to bring Pakistan under the control of Ahmadis. Their share in official positions within the Pakistani bureaucracy was much higher than their share in the population of Pakistan. Zafarullah Khan was just one example. As Ahmadis have sworn to follow their leader in all matters of life, those Ahmadi officials were loyal towards their Khalifa leader and not towards the constitution of Pakistan or their fellow Pakistani citizens. Most notably Zafarullah Khan even refused to pray the death funeral of Quaid-e-Azam Baba-i-Qaum Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan, as Zafarullah Khan and his Ahmadiyya sect argued, that they did not consider Muhammad Ali Jinnah a Muslim, instead they considered him A Kafir, a Nonbeliever Kufar, as he had not followed the call of the Ahmaidyya founder Mirza Ghulam Ahmad Qadiani. That way Zafarullah Khan impressively demonstrated his loyality to his Ahmadi Khalifa leader above his loyality to the founder of the country he was supposed to serve. This was a monumental slap in the face of Muslims, as they had only recently joined forces and under huge sacrifices gained an independent state for the Muslims of the Indian Subcontinent. And now their own Foreign Minister demonstrated to the eyes of the world, that he didn’t consider the Founder of Pakistan Quaid-e-Azam Baba-i-Qaum Muhammad Ali Jinnah a Muslim and didn’t even deem him worthy to show the respect of his funeral prayer.

Christians and Hindus as of 1982 had a Population of about 13 times bigger than Ahmadis. But despite their bigger share in the Population, Christians and Hindus were considerably less likely to be found in the Federal bureaucracy of Pakistan. Ahmadis were twice as much more often to be found in a high ranking Position in the Federal bureaucracy of Pakistan than Hindus, despite Hindus being 13 Times more populous than Ahmadis in Pakistan.

Please note that this data was from 1982. And many didn’t declare their religion in the statistics. It is Obvious that the situation was even worse than the data above suggests and prior to the constitutional ammendments in the 50’s and 60’s, the situation must have been even worse than the 1982 data suggests.

The constitutional amendments main aim was to drive back this unnatural development and limit the Ahmadis possible influence on the Pakistani democracy to their fair share in the population of Pakistan, which is just a fair and democratic principle, especially for a country that was created as a homeland for Muslims and against totalitarian rule by an Absolute Monarch. Ahmadis work against both of these principles. They undermine the Muslim unity, impressively demonstarted by Zafarullah Khan at the time of the funeral of Pakistans founder and implement another Absolute Monarch, who they Call Khalifa and they want to follow.

In a democracy, the majority of people shall have the say and not a small minority who is just better organized and follows an Absolute dictator, they call “Khalifa” and systematically tries to undercut the political system by installing their loyal followers in positions of power within a state. Where that can lead, could be seen recently in Turkey, where the Gülen Sect tried to violently putsch their way to power in Turkey with the help of a few hundred loyalists in the Turkish Police and Army.

Who is Rashid Ahmad? The first African-American Ahmadi imam?

Intro
The Mirza family aka Ahmadiyya INC normally hire a local in any country once they wish to open up a business center (masjid, hospital or school).  First, they send a murrabi in the hopes that he can convert at least one native person to Ahmadiyya.  He then searches for a local, someone who is down and out on his luck and in some financial problems.  Once this person converts, they begin to prepare him to be an Imam and thus establish validity in any said country.  This is exactly what they did in Africa, but remember, the Pakistani’s will always remain in-charge.  The second and final African-American Ahmadi imam is Azhar Haneef, he went on Hajj with Rashid Ahmad and many other African-American-Ahmadi’s.  Nevertheless, in the story of Rashid Ahmad, you will find a criminal who found an easy job and thus took advantage.  He lived a life of luxury after he became an Ahmadi.  He was given women, and job security.  It seems that he may not been a Murrabi, instead a trusted employee, since he is never mentioned in any jamaat publication as a Murrabi.  He also sheds light on some other famous Ahmadi converts turned imams.

Where did they find Rashid Ahmad?
The details of his life were obscure until Ahmadiyya INC published a book about this man’s life.  Rashid Ahmad was born as Rudolph Thomas in East St. Louis on March 26, 1923.  He grew up around shootings, killings, alcohol abuse and widespread gambling.  His father was fond of woman-chasing and ran illegal loads of alcohol through many states and etc.  He would even lie to the police regularly.  His parents never married each other and barely spent time with each other.  As soon as his mother got some money, she left her children and worked in bars and etc all over the southern states all the way up to new york.

He graduated highschool in 1942 and voluntarily lived on the streets and did crime
He was a petty thief for 3 years.

1945, he moves to Chicago
He wore flashy clothes in an attempt to get women’s attention, he would then turn those girls into prostitutes and then act like their manager.

1946
After running the streets for 1 year, he meets Ahmadi muslims close to their Chicago mosque, Al-Sadiq Mosque, on Wabash Ave, which was the headquarters of Ahmadiyya in the USA for a long time.

In 1946, the Ahmadi imams smoked cigarettes afghani-style
Rashid Ahmad says:

“””I also noticed some Punjabi Pakistanis who inhaled their cigarettes in an unusual fist formation with the cigarette sticking out the other end of the fist – a kind of hand-hookah method I surmised was unique for smoking opium. They would hold their fist to their mouths and inhale the smoke from the cigarette, which would stick out from between their ring finger and pinky at a 45 degree angle. I was determined to get to the bottom of this moneymaking
scam, so I kept coming back at all the times for prayers (page 18)”””

1947
He formally joins Ahmadiyya.  He was previously sleeping on benches.  Now, he is allowed to sleep in the mosque and to use Ahmadiyya facilities.

1948
He writes to the Khalifa asking to become a missionary.

December 1949
He begins his travel towards Rabwah, Pakistan and is considered an israeli spy.  He eventually arrives in Karachi and reaches Rabwah a few days later, on Dec 24, 1949, as few days before the 1949 Rabwah-Jalsa, the first ever in Rabwah.

1950
After spending some time in Rabwah, most likely in religious classes, on June 4th, Rashid Ahmad travels with the Khalifa on a tour of Quetta, Sindh and Karachi.  He related how the Khalifa could barely walk as a result of gout and had terrible health.  He also tells how the Khalifa was on a Pakistani military destroyer ship.  This was the first time any Khalifa was given this honor.  Apparently, an Ahmadi naval officer arranged for it.  Later on, we would see how Ahmadi officers in the Pakistani military have preferential treatment to Ahmadi’s and the Mirza family.  He also mentions how the Khalifa was always meeting people in terms of his private business endeavors.

September 1950
Rabwah was flooded out.  Instead of returning to Rabwah, the Khalifa and his family went to Lahore and stayed there for a few weeks.

October 1950
After 4 months on the road and living with the Khalifa, Rashid Ahmad and the Khalifa finally returned to Rabwah.

On Oct. 25th, 1950
Rashid Ahmad failed his arabic exam at Jamia.  In fact, almost all Ahmadi missionaries from abroad were never taught proper arabic, and the pakistani’s barely know it as well.

November 1950
After about 10-12 months in Rabwah, the Khalifa marries Rashid Ahmad to Sara Qudsia (she died in 2003 in rabwah), the daughter of an Ahmadi murrabi-teachers, Muhammad Ibrahim Khalil.  They married on November 14, 1950.  The Khalifa came to the wedding ceremony on crutches, he seems to have been unable to walk in those days.  Rashid Ahmad accompanied the Khalifa almost everywhere that he’s went in this era.  Their first child was born in 1952, the second in 1953 and the third in 1954.  These were all back-to-back pregnancies, no breaks.

November 1952
Rashid Ahmad gets into a dispute with the Khalifa about another missionary of the Ahmadiyya movement.  It is unclear what this is all about.  Nevertheless, the Khalifa stops speaking to Rashid Ahmad, they eventually reconciled.

March–May 1953
This entire section is left blank.  This is unbelievable, since even 2 sons of the Khalifa were arrested and subsequently released.

June 1953
He goes on tour with the Khalifa again, towards Sindh yet again.

January 1954
15th of January 1954, Rashid Ahmad travels to Lahore with the Khalifa.  The Khalifa was being questioned as part of the 1953 riots on Ahmadiyya via the Munir Enquiry.  The Ahmadi women of various jamaat’s asked the Khalifa if they could see the German Ahmadi missionary (Kunze) in training as well as the american, and the Khalifa allowed it.

March 10th, 1954
Rashid Ahmad stood directly behind the Khalifa during prayers.  However, on this day he was absent, since his wife was in delivery of their 3rd child.  A young boy stood in his place and stabbed the Khalifa in the back.  By 2018, the whereabouts of the boy are unknown.

December 1954
He returns to the USA, he arrives into NY with his wife and 3 children, 3 Ahmadi imams meet him and receive him.  The very next day he is sent to St. Louis, his wife and and children stay in NY.  As he finished his studies, he admitted that he barely learned Islam, in fact, he said that most foreign ahmadi missionaries in this era didn’t fully complete their study programs, which means that they failed, but were passed nevertheless.

1955
While in St. Louis, one of the imams (Maulvi Ghulam Yasin) who had received Rashid Ahmad in NY, he was also the uncle of Rashid Ahmad’s wife, he immediately took her back to Pakistan and forbade Rashid Ahmad from communicating with her.  This condition lasted for 12 years.

1956
He secures tax-exemption status for the Ahmadiyya movement, thus eliminating the need to pay property tax.  He also tells how there were lots of Ahmadi’s living in the mission house in St. Louis.

July 1960
He appears in an african-american newspaper as a convert to Islam.  He also demonstrates Wudhu.

1962
He marries again, while still married to the girl in Pakistan.  He married Aziza Ahmad and she is the daughter of two pioneers of Ahmadiyyat in St. Louis, Usman and Amina Khalid, they had 4 children, have four children, Mojahida, Munir, Wadud, and Ghaniyya.  This is an example of an Ahmadi murrabi in the past 60 years participating in a polygamous relationship.  They had their first child in September of 1963.  The rest of the children were born in 67, 69 and 74.

1966
Rashid Ahmad returns to Rabwah, he hadn’t seen his wife and kids for almost 12 years.  He goes to his wife’s house and is immediately asked to leave by another uncle of Rashid Ahmad’s wife.  This uncle tells Rashid Ahmad that he is divorced and has no rights to this woman.  The jamaat then sets up an inquiry into this matter.

1969
His eldest son dies in Pakistan, he was only 17 years old.  Rashid Ahmad was not allowed by Ahmadiyya INC to go to Rabwah for mourning.

1974
Rashid Ahmad was an Ahmadiyya missionary at the Jamaat President for the USA.

1975
He meets with Bhutto in the USA and discusses Ahmadiyya persecution.

Moslem Sunrise, 1975 edition, see page 13
Rashid Ahmad is mentioned as a missionary, as well as Kunze.  Rashid Ahmad seems to be the Nationa Ameer.  He isn’t listed as a current missionary.

After 1976
He seems to have been relieved of all of his duties as a missionary or as a President, he isn’t mentioned in any jamaat publications either.

1986
Rashid Ahmad relates the murder of a young african-american-ahmadi:

“””In 1986 an Ahmadi youth was murdered in Zion, Illinois. His name was Fahim Ahmad and he was the son of an Ahmadi couple, Mr. and Mrs. Hanif and Nafia Ahmad (Laeeqa Ahmad was Fahim’s stepmother). The murderer was a Caucasian man, Joey Isbell, who was harassing young black boys in Shiloh Park. He was shaking the bikes as the boys were riding them and flashing a gun at them. Fahim said that he was not afraid of him nor his gun. The murderer then shot him at point blank range with a .357 caliber gun. Fahim died on the spot. Inna Lillahi wa inna Ilayhi raji‘un. He was 16 years old.”””

1992
The Ahmadiyya Jamaat publishes, ‘Ahmadiyya in America“, Rashid Ahmad is not mentioned as a “currently-working” murrabi, in fact, he is not mentioned at all whatsoever.

1994
The Ahmadiyya Jamaat publishes, “Mosques around the World”.  In this book, only 6 current imams are mentioned as working in the USA, Rashid Ahmad is not mentioned.

1998, he performs Hajj
Rashid Ahmad says:

“””The following seven Ahmadi brethren accompanied me: Al-Haj Nasirullah Ahmad (who is currently the president of the Milwaukee Jama‘ah), Maulana al-Haj Azhar Haneef and his dear father al-Haj Abid Haneef, al-Haj Jalal Nuruddin, al-Haj Mustafa Abdullah, al-Haj Khalid Walid and al- Haj Rafiq Lake. I was the eldest of the group being 76 years old at the time. It is only by the sheer Grace of Allah that I was able to complete the Hajj without any issues.”””

98–2013
These are quiet years for him, its unclear what he is doing.

2015
He passes away, 90+ years of age.

Kunze is mentioned in 2015, “A History of Conversion to Islam in the United States, Volume 1: White American Muslims Before 1975” Book by Patrick D. Bowen
See pages 302-303, Rashid Ahmad is also mentioned.

Trimingham, J. Spencer “The Influence of Islam Upon Africa” (1968)

Intro
Early academic studies on Ahmadiyya described “Ahmadiyya in Africa” as a maritime implantation, a strategic move on behalf of the British wherein they used Ahmadiyya to stop the Muslim populations from rebellion.  The British and the USA were raping the Gold Coast of Africa for precious resources and needed Ahmadiyya to help end ideas of Jihad.

An important quote from this book about Ahmadiyya
See Page 80 and 81
“””A real deviation which made its appearance in Africa under European occupation was the Ahmadiyya of Qadiyan (now centred at Rabwah) which claims Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (d. 1908) as its Messiah.  Entering British West African dependencies from the sea (1921) emissaries found neo-Muslims susceptible to their propaganda.  They succeeded in building up communities by individual conversions in coastal Ghana and Nigeria, but in Northern Nigeria they came up against the entrenched prejudice of legalistic Islam.  In East Africa, on the contrary, the first missionary in 1934 found entrenched Islam on the coast and the neo-Muslims in the interior, among whom a few converts were made.  But once East and West African Muslims realized that Ahmadis were regarded as deviationists by the rest of the Muslim world they had little chance of any wide success.

Ahmadi’s form new communities–that is what condemns them in African Muslim eyes—clearly distinguished from other Muslims by their whole attitude and outlook, by such non-conformism as refusal to pray behind a non-Ahmadi imam, by deviations from Islamic law or simply from African Islamic practice, such as their allowing women to enter mosques.  Their influence has been greater than as reckoned in purely quantitative terms.  They have shown enthusiasm for education, and through their aggressive propaganda and literature, especially their translations of the Quran into African languages, they have provoked discussion and controversy.”””

The Data

In June, 1948 Mirza Mahmud set up Furqan Battalion to axe his grind in Kashmir affairs. In a special session of Majlis-i-Shoora, he announced that he had been persuaded by some military officers to send at least a platoon on Jammu front to take part in Kashmir war. Under the command of Mirza Mubarak Ahmad, a platoon of 45 Ahmadis, after receiving instructions from M.M.Ahmad, then Deputy Commissioner Sialkot, moved to MirajKay to fight on the Jammu front. The Government of Pakistan, claims an Ahmadi weekly paper Lahore, itself requested Mirza Mahmud to send a Battalion on Kashmir front. An Organizing Committee under Mirza Nasir Ahmad (Fatehuddin) was set up which recruited Ahmadi volunteers and by June 1948 the Furqan Battalion, under the command of Col. (Retd.) Sardar Muhammad Hayat Qasarani was formed which stationed at Sarai Alamgir near Jhelum. After Qaisarani, Mirza Mubarak Ahmad became its commander. The Furqan camp was named Zubir and the commanding officer was called ‘Alam Kabab’, (a name revealed to Mirza Ghulam Ahmad for the future Muslih Maud, Mirza Mahmud claimed that ‘office’ in 1944). Besides Col. Qaisarani, Maj. Waqi-uz-Zaman (Second in Command), Major Hameed Ahmad Kaleem, Major Abdul Hamid, Major Abdullah Mahar and Cap. Naimatullah Sharif occupied important positions in the Battalion.

The Battalion advanced from Baghsar front to the Valley of Saadabad on 10 July 1948 and occupied a portion of it about miles wide and 5 miles long when the cease-fire took place. Nine Ahmadis were killed during Kashmir war.74 As the war was going on, Mirza Mahmud summoned some influential Ahmadis to Lahore to start a movement inside the Valley. Khalifa Abdul Manan, the son of Khalifa and an engineer by profession, was called to Lahore and advised to contact some one in the Valley to help in the execution of the Ahmadi plan. He states:

He (Mirza) then said: ‘I want reliable person from the Valley who should be available for operation on the fighting line to’… ‘I (Mannan) at once said: yes, Your Holiness! I have one in mind, but he is presently in Srinagar “Can he come”? He inquired and I said ‘yes’, “but I have no means to communicate with him.” ‘You write him and give me the letter.’ I wrote, the message reached him in Srinagar, he left in disguise immediately. He was under orders of arrest from the Emergency Administration. He reached Lahore within a few days, presented himself at Rattan Bagh and started the assigned work and continued to work for years and year.” 75

Furqan Force concentrated its activities mostly in the Saadabad Valley Sector. It was a spy rather than a fighting force. The leaders of the Muslim Conference expressed their apprehensions on the Ahmadi involvement in Kashmir affairs. Sardar Aftab Ahmad, General Secretary, Muslim Conference, condemned the Ahmadi role in Kashmir war and held them responsible for spying and playing an Imperialist inspired game.76

Mirza Mahmud, in his address dated 27 December 1950 states:

‘Sardar Aftab Ahmad, General Secretary Muslim Conference Kashmir, has alleged that Ahmadis had sent the Furqan Force to fight in Kashmir as a part of a conspiracy. They leaked secret reports to the Indian Army. On the basis of their reports the enemy war planes bombarded Pakistan’s strategic positions. All the leading newspapers of the Punjab carried his statement. We made a complaint to the Government stating ‘Why did Government allow us to remain in Kashmir for two years’? The Government asked Sardar Aftab to retract and the Ministry of Kashmir prepared a draft statement and sent it to Karachi to contradict his earlier statement. But Sardar Aftab’s statement appeared in distorted form only in least circulated daily Tamir, Rawalpindi. After sometimes in November 1950 Sardar Aftab repeated the same allegations on the arrival of Sir Owen Dixon mission in Pakistan as mediator on Kashmir question although the volunteer forces had been withdrawn from Kashmir by that time.’77

The Furqan Battalion was disbanded on 17 June 1950. Brig K.M.Sheikh of Pak Army read out the message of Gen Gracey, C-in-C of the Battalion to the Furqan Force in a ceremony held for that special purpose:

Gracey paid a glowing tribute to Furqan Battalion in his message dated 17 June 1950. The text of the message to the Battalion from the notorious General Sir Douglas Gracey, K.C.I.C.B.E., M.C., Commander in Chief (Furqan Battalion) is given below:

“Your offer to provide a volunteer force in the fight for liberation of Kashmir in June, 1948 was gratefully accepted, and the Furqan Bn came into being. After a short period of training during the summer of 1948, you were soon ready to take your place in the field. In September 1948 you were placed under Commander MALF. Your Bn was composed entirely of volunteers who came from all walks of life, young peasants, students, teachers, men in business, they were all imbued with the spirit of service for Pakistan; you accepted no renumeration, and no publicity for the self sacrifice for which you all volunteered. Yours was a noble cause. You impressed us all with your keenness to learn, and the enthusiasm you brought with you. You and your officers soon got over many difficulties that face a young unit.In Kashmir you were allotted an important sector, and very soon you justified the reliance placed on you and you nobly acquitted yourself in battle against heavy enemy ground and air attacks, with not losing a single inch of ground.

Your conduct both individual and collective and your discipline have been of a very high order.

As your mission is over and your Bn is under orders to disband. I wish to thank every one of you for the services you have rendered to your country. Khuda Hafiz.” 78
