MGA never led Salaat in his entire life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Intro
For the past 2 years, my team of writers/researchers and I have continuously told Ahmadis and Non-Ahmadis that MGA was incapable of leading Salaat.  MGA spoke with a terrible stutter/stammer, he could never properly memorize any chapters of the Quran, he was always high on opium, his Arabic tajweed was terrible-he had a Punjabee accent as he spoke in Arabic.  Thus, ever since MGA attended his father’s Masjid Aqsa, there was a hired Imam who led the prayers.  Further, in 1884, when MGA had Masjid Mubarak built, MGA hired an Imam.  After MGA made his claims in 1891, Abdul Karim, Maulvi Ahsan, Nooruddin, Mufti Muhammad Sadiq or any other Muslim would lead the prayers, the same was to be said about the Masjid Aqsa, these were the two only masjids in Qadian.  In the below, I have posted “new-information” on this topic, per 12-9-17.  My team has located the Malfuzat of 1903 wherein an excuse was given by Ahmadiyya leadership as to why MGA never led salaat, they went so far as to argue that the Messiah wasn’t supposed to lead Salaat per hadith. However, they casually forget that MGA also claimed to be the Mahdi, and the Mahdi was supposed to lead Salaat, hence, MGA has failed the most basic criteria of the Mahdi, the leading of Salaat.  In fact, while MGA would perform Salaat, his fanatical followers were known to approach MGA (during salaat) and stroke his body sexually.

Further, we have argued with Ahmadis on this topic endlessly, the hard-core Ahmadi never admitted that MGA failed to be an Imam even once in his life, they would always deflect our allegations, and in typical brainwashed fashion.  However, with this reference, the story is now closed and confirmed.  MGA never led Salaat in his entire life.  This particular incident was also quoted in the official Ahmadi newspaper, the Badr.

Malfuzat from 1903
It should be noted, this volume of Malfuzat was Published in Rabwah, 1961, in Urdu, covering the period from November 1901 to October 14, 1902 (see page xl).

Malfoozat 21-oct-1903 . Vol. 3 by Mirza Ghulam Ahamd Qadyani (also reported in Al-badar ) says

“Regarding leading in prayers , one guy question that why hazrat do not lead the prayers ? Answered that it is written in hadees that Maseeh that has to come will pray behind others “

(Malfoozat, Volume 2, Page 211-212)

“”Look, we also take advantage of this leniency as it has been almost two months that we have been combining the prayers. This is because of the reason of my sickness, and because of the writing of the commentary of Surah Fatiha. In the combining of these prayers, the hadith وَتُجْمَعُ لَهُ الصَّلاةُ is being fulfilled which means that the prayers will be combined for the sake of The Promised Messiahas. From this we also infer that at the time of The Promised Messiahas, he will not lead the prayers, but it will be someone else. This Imam will combine the prayers for the sake of The Promised Messiahas, and this is what is happening today. The days we cannot come due to increased sickness, the prayers are combined during these days and we infer from the words of this hadith that it was through love that The Holy Prophetsaw said that ‘it will happen for his sake’. It should be that we look upon the prophecies of The Holy Prophetsaw with great respect and importance and should not be careless of them, otherwise it is will be of great sin that we look down upon the prophecies of The Holy Prophetsaw. God Almighty created the reason by which the prayers were being combined for so long, otherwise this would only be for two days and it would not be a sign. We respect every world and letter of The Holy Prophetsaw. “”

Narration no. 19

” My mother narrated to me that mgaq got first attack of dizziness and hysteria few days after the death of Bashir 1 (we had an elder brother who died in 1888). While sleeping he got choked and then condition woresned but that attack was light. Then after some time (few days) he went out saying that I am not feeling well today. Mother said after some time sheikh Hamid Ali ( he was an old sincere servent of mgaq, he is dead now) knocked at the door and asked for a pitcher of hot water. Mother said, I knew that mgaq’s condition is worsened, so I asked a maid to ask him (sh hamid) about mgaq’s condition. Sh Hamid Ali said its bad. I went inside the mosque and saw mgaq lying. I went near him he said- I m not feeling well. I was praying and saw something black raised in front of me and went up to sky. Then I screamed and fell down and became like fainted. Mother says that after that he started getting these attacks on REGULAR BASIS. This humble one asked what was attack like, she said that his hands and feet got cold, body nerves got shrunk specially neck’s and then dizziness started. In that condition, he was unable to support his body. In the beginning, these attacks / seizures were svere but later on there was no such severity and he became used to that.

Humble one asked, did he ever get any problem with his head? Mother said, before he used to get nominal headache attacks. Humble one asked, did he use to lead the prayers, mother said yes, but due to attacks he stopped. Humble one states that was before the claim of being Massiah. ”

Mirza Ghulam Ahmad never led Salaat!!!!!!!

Intro
We all know that MGA never did any public speeches.  We also know that he only had 5-debates in his entire life and they were all written debates, and Noorudin was always close by as well as Abdul Kareem and the rest of the team.  Officially, as of 1891, Maulvi Abdul Kareem, Amrohi and Noorudin were the imams of the mosque at Qadian.  They led all the prayers, they did all the friday sermons and wrote all of the books.  Mufti Sadiq also helped.  As did Muhammad Ali later on and many many others.  Before 1891, MGA had other people lead the salaat, the father of Jalal-uddin-Shams comes to mind.

Nonetheless, MGA couldn’t memorize the quran and was mostly high on opium, so he could never lead prayers.  That’s what my research indicates.

The Quote
SEERATUL MAHDI PART-III PAGE 111
“””Stated to me by Dr. Mir Muhammad Ismail that once Due to some reasons Molvi Abdul Karim could not lead the prayers, Molvi Nooruddin was also not present, so Hazrat Sahab ( MGAQ) asked Hakeem Fazluddin to lead the prayer. Hakeem Fazluddin excused to offer the services by saying how can i lead the prayer when huzur know that i have been suffering from PILES and can,t maintain my ablution (WAZU) due to gaseous emissions all the time. Huzur asked hakeem Fazluddin, are your prayers valid despite the problem? He said yes they are valid. Then lead the prayer , our prayer will also be valid said hazrat sahab”””

Conclusions
MGA was not any type of Imam.  He hired Noorudin and his friends to write and lead prayers for him and to give speeches on this behalf.  Check my other essays on MGA and his lack of leading salaat here: https://ahmadiyyafactcheckblog.wordpress.com/2017/03/03/mirza-ghulam-ahmad-got-stroked-during-salaat/

Nusrat Jehan Begum claims that MGA only led Salaat before 4 November 1888, never after

Intro
Ahmadi’s are very stubborn people.  This is their biggest malfunction.  We have posted data on this blog for years indicating that MGA never led salaat for any congregation.  Ahmadi’s refused to believe it.  It was too much for them, they then began to argue that MGA did in-fact lead some salaat.  However, after some additional digging, we have uncovered that MGA never led salaat at least after Nov. 4th, 1888.  The testimony in the below proves that.  Further, MGA barely had any followers to lead salaat for before this date.  We suspect that he still never led salaat, and even if he did, it was in-front of small children or gullible peers who never tried to correct MGA when he made mistakes.

Mirza Ghulam Ahmad spoke with a terrible stutter and Ahmadiyya leadership lied about it..they called it a stammer

Intro
It seems that the more research that I do into the life of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad…the more details I find which give us a better understanding of the capacities of MGA.  In this specific case, it is reported in many of the early Ahmadi sources, like Seeratul Mahdi.  However, i recently found a book which is said to be written by Mirza Basheer-uddin Mahmud Ahmad, its a new addition to the library.  I’ve probably read every single english book on this website, plus the Lahori site.   Nonetheless, this book is entitled “The Ahmadiyya Movement” and was published from Qadian, India in 1976, as an english-book.  I must say, the truth is, Mahmud Ahmad never wrote much, he had his mullahs ready to write down his thoughts, they wrote all the books, newspaper articles, commentaries, and all the speeches, just like Mirza Masroor and the other Khalifas. Mirza Mahmud Ahmad was just like his father, he had a team of writers around him, ready to help.  Mirza Mahmud Ahmad may have been the editor, but he wasn’t writing much.  However, he did give speeches and took over giving the Friday Sermon in Qadian in roughly 1911.

MGA’s stuttering and stammering problem
Mirza Mahmud Ahmad tells us in this book that his father had a “stammering” problem.  Here is the quote, see page 23, Mahmud Ahmad claims that it was a slight stammer, however, it was much more then that as other facts will prove:

“”Again, it had been written that the Mahdi would be born in a village called Kadaa, and he was born in Qadian, which the common people call Kadia or Kadi. It had been written that he would be affected by a slight stammer in his speech, and so he was. Again, it was written that the Messiah would have whitish complexion and straight hair, and he possessed them both. It was
written that his marriage and the offspring through that marriage would be of prophetical bearing; and so it came to pass with him, that he was informed beforehand that…””

Mirza Tahir Ahmad tells us the same in 1985 See—An English translation of the Friday sermon delivered by Hadrat Mirza Tahir Ahmad, Khalifatul Masih IV on March 29, 1985 at the Fadl Mosque, London, see page 4

He quotes a newspaper from the al-fazl of 1938 as such

“””Mirza Sahib was not able to correctly pronounce Arabic words. He was not able to phonetically distinguish Arabic letters with similar sounds; for example, the letter ‘Qaf ’ versus ‘Kaf ’. Occasionally his audience would object, but Mirza Sahib was not able to say anything in his defence. (Qadiyaniyyat—A Grave Threat to Islam, p. 12, referencing an article appearing in al-Fadl, September 14, 1938)”””

Brief Commentary
Mirza Basheer-uddin Mahmud Ahmad told us through his official newspaper in 1938 that his father had lot of trouble with pronouncing Arabic, in fact, he was terrible at it. There are many other references which need to be added here which corroborate the story.

Mirza Tahir Ahmad throws Moses (as) under the bus and accuses him of stammering and stuttering
In classic-Ahmadi-style, Mirza Tahir Ahmad accuses Moses (as) of stuttering and stammering just like MGA, however, this is not true…it is not written that Moses (as) stuttered or stammered, it is written that he wasn’t as eloquent as Aaron (as).  He then goes on to quote other commentaries and references wherein it is states that the grandson of Muhammad (saw) stammered and etc.  However, what does this have to do with MGA’s inability to give speeches?  was Husain a prophet or an imam who needed to have the capacity to give speeches and etc?  The real story here is that MGA was a terrible stutterer and he never grew out of it…hence, other people led the salaat on his behalf and other people did all of the speeches and etc and all of the debates (only 4-5) were written debates.  Finally, after accepting that his grandfather did have some sort of speech impediment, he claims that the reference to the al-fazl is a total fabrication and thus he contradicts his entire line of argumentation and his entire argument collapses.

Sometimes Ahmadis quote this hadith
“”He will be slow of speech (a slight stutter) and when he is delayed, he will strike his left thigh with his right hand.” (Al-Isha’ah)”””

What is this book?
The full name of the book is “Al-Ishāáh li Ashrāť as-Sāáh” [The Promulgation: of the Signs of the Hour] by Muhammad al-Barzanji.  He seems to be a huge scholar from Medina.  However, in this case, his work is still in arabic and it doesn’t exist on the internet, hence we have a problem fact checking Ahmadis on this.  Nonetheless, we need to see the book and that exact page, before we comment.  Further, this quotation doesnt even reveal who this person is….is it the Mahdi?  The Messiah?  There is absolutely no indication.  I would suspect another classic case of “Ahmadi-mis-quotation” and “Ahmadi-intentional-tampering” and “mis-representing” of sources.

Al-Barzanji wrote a book on the Miraj
This is an interesting book…i’m sure that he wrote that the Miraj was physical.  Nonetheless, this source remains unchecked.  The Mutazalites had challenged the physicality of the Miraj 1000+ years ago.  It was a dead issue for a looooong time, which proves that Sir Syed and Noorudin and MGA only denied it since they were denying all miracles and they must have thought that 20th century science was the limit of human advancement, they were wrong, Einstein came along and changed that….and since Einstein, we have advanced 10-fold at least.

Some conclusions
MGA’s followers spent their entire lives covering up the life of MGA.  They make these offensive and rude parallels and brainwash each other to believe these silly arguments.  The truth is….all the people who immediately surrounded MGA knew that MGA was a liability.  They knew that MGA was incapable of being an Imam, they only tempted him to make these audacious claims since he had gotten rich overnight when his brother died in 1883.  In the case of MGA’s speech impediment, he had a terrible stuttering and stammering problem, this is the main reason why he never gave a public speech or never gave a friday sermon.  What’s alarming however, is the fact that the inner circle of Ahmadiyya leadership knew the truth….yet they purposely hid it.

Tiryaq-e-Ilahi never worked on anyone…it was just a super-opium drug….

Intro

MGA and Noorudin played with opium their entire lives.  They took medicines that had soooooo much opium in them that a human isn’t capable of leading salaat, doing public speeches or any other things…in fact, MGA was sooooo high, he would sit in his room all day and do nothing…..this is why he was always sitting around aimlessly.  In fact, MGA had soooo many digestive problems as a result of eating opium that he was forced to keep many bathroom attendants, who would tend to MGA all day and all night, they would clean up MGA’s feces and piss and then clean MGA, as we all know, MGA’s right arm was broken since he was a child, he thus couldn’t even clean himself after his sloppy excretions.

Mirza Ghulam Ahmad never fasted during Ramadhan

Intro
Ahmadis are in the business of lying on behalf of the Mirza family, they lie about everything, they knew that MGA never led Salaat, never led Friday Khutbah, and never gave public speeches and never fasted during ramadhan.  In fact, in 1904, he had the gall to drink with his left hand in front of a hostile gathering of Muslims and had to be escorted out by the British police.

The quote
“””“Hazrat Amajan(ra) narrated to me that when Hazrat Masih-e-Maud(as) began to have attacks, (these attacks have been further qualified in the context of the statement as of headache and cold feet syndrome) in that year, he did not fast throughout the Ramadhan and paid the fidya. On the commencement of the Ramadhan during the second year, he started to observe the fast but after eight or nine days, the attacks began again and therefore he stopped and paid the fidya. The following year, he had fasted for ten or eleven days but on account of these attacks, he had to stop fasting again and he paid the fidya. The year after, it was the thirteenth fast when he had an attack around the time of Maghrib and he had to break it. He did not fast during the rest of the Ramadhan that year but he paid the fidya. After this, he observed all the fasts during Ramadhans, except during the last two or three years before his death” (Ahmad, Mirza Bashir, Seeratul Mahdi, Volume 1, Pages 51-52″”””

Dr. Mir Muhammad Ismail (MGA’s brother-in-law) was fooled about MGA leading Tarawee or Tahujjad

Intro
We all know that MGA never led Salaat, not even on accident, not even in a very small gathering of children, MGA was not even the imam at Qadian during the time of his father, as we all know, MGA’s father hired the father of Jalal-ud-din Shams to lead the Salaat at his Aqsa mosque, which was a 5 minute walk from the Palace of the Mirza family.  MGA had the Masjid Mubarak built after his father died and it was basically his private office.  He would allow his closest followers to come in and pray with him.  The area for the imam was hidden, it was a cut out into the wall and opened up into an area for 3-4 people.  As Mirza Masroor Ahmad told us, MGA would stand in that room, to the right of the imam, and some of his super-obsessive followers would enter and stroke MGA’s body during salaat.  In other narration in Seeratul Mahdi, MGA’s same brother-in-law narrates a story that gives the reader the impression that MGA always avoided being the imam to any prayers.  What probably happened in this scenario was that MGA’s brother-in-law, who was only 14-15 at the time, he was fooled to think that MGA was leading Taraweeh or Tahujjad, which are obviously 2 separate prayers, maybe MGA substituted one for the other??  Further, MGA would eat til the adhan was even over, which is also objectionable.  And where was the Abdul Kareem?  Or Nooruddin at the same time??  What about Ahsan Amrohi??  As we all know, there were barely 20 Ahmadis who lived in Qadian, so there was no need for the Masjid Aqsa to even be opened…all of this activity happened in closed-quarters, aka MGA’s office aka Masjid Mubarak.

Mirza Ghulam Ahmad got stroked during Salaat

Intro
So we already know that MGA never led salaat, he would stand to the right of the imam or in his private room, which was inside the Masjid Mubarak, most likely in the far back of this small mosque. This was the mosque that was connected to MGA’s house.  MGA would enter from a special doorway that was connected to his house.  MGA was also fond of grabbing other mens’s hands and holding them close to his thigh.

Maulawi Muhammad Yar Sahib and his obsession with touching MGA
This Ahmadi mullah was also a teacher of Mahmud Ahmad at Qadian.  He was so in-love with MGA that he would just begin stroking MGA’s entire body during salaat and had to be restrained many times by the people of Qadian. In fact, MGA would point to his thighs and this Ahmadi mullah would come running, and ready to serve his master.  We all know that MGA loved massages, and even had his daughter give him massages and thus stroke his body inappropriately.  MGA had at least 10 different people giving his massages on any given day.  Or at least it seems like that.  He also had females who spent the night with him in his make-shift room who seem to have massaged him all night.  Whereas his wife and children slept separately in a different part of the house.  Noorudin and Abdul kareem also lived in the same house, Mufti Sadiq would also sleep inside the house.

“Qazi Muhammed Yusuf Peshawari narrated to me in writing that there was a time when mgaq used to stand with Molvi A Karim sialkoti in the small room on the west side inside Mubarak Mosque. But when in 1907, the mosque was extended, that room was demolished. THE REASON FOR STANDING INSIDE THAT SMALL ROOM WAS THAT PROBABLY QAZI YAR MUHAMMED USED TO BOTHER mgaq.

Humble one states that qari Yar Muhammad was a very sincere person but he was mentally imbalanced, because of that he used to feel / grope mgaq’s body and was a source of pain and discomfort “

The Quotes
In a Friday sermon delivered by Mirza Masroor Ahmad on 8-7-2015, he tells us:

“””Hazrat Musleh Maud (may Allah be pleased with him) said one of his late teachers, Maulawi Muhammad Yar Sahib had obsessive love for the Promised Messiah (on whom be peace). He started associating every prophecy of the Promised Messiah with his own person. In his desire to be physically close by to the Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) he sometimes did unwarrantable things. For example during Salat he would stroke the Promised Messiah (on whom be peace). In light of this the Promised Messiah appointed people to keep an eye on him during days when he was particularly obsessive and not let him come in the Promised Messiah’s vicinity.

When the Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) spoke or delivered lecture he had the habit of motioning his hand towards his thighs. When he moved his hand in this manner Maulawi Yar Muhammad Sahib jumped up and came close to him. When asked why he did so he would say the Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) had gestured him to come close to him. Thus was his obsessive love for the Promised Messiah that he even considered his reflex actions to mean a beckoning gesture. We claim to love God but in spite of His clear declaration to: ‘come to Prayer and come to prosperity’ we do not pay attention! Each Ahmadi should try and respond to God’s call like ardent devotees and jump up in obeisance. Its school holidays now and children bring along their parents [to the mosque], later attendance lessens. This is a reminder. May God enable us to safeguard and establish our Salat!””” (see the last 2 paragraphs).

Ahmadis are hypothetically allowed to kill other Ahmadis

Intro

Mirza Bashir Ahmad wrote many controversial things about Ahmadiyya.  He declared Takfir on the Lahori-Ahmadis as well as all Muslims in 1916, then he wrote how Ahmadis condone the rape of prisoners of war, he also wrote the infamous Seeratul-Mahdi wherein he accidentally confessed that his father (MGA) never led salaat, never read out a Khutbah Juma, chased and lusted after Muhammadi Begum and etc etc etc.  He also wrote that the Ahmadiyya Khilafat wouldnt last pass the 4th Khalifa and would turn into a political Khilafat, Mirza Masroor Ahmad had to clean up that story in 2005.  In a recent find, I have found an essay that Mirza Bashir Ahmad seems to have written in 1959 or 1960, in this essay he explains how it is possible for Ahmadis living in India to kill Ahmadis living in Pakistan and other countries.  As we all know, India was at war with Pakistan in those days and thus many Ahmadis were in the Pakistani and Indian military and thus, a few may have even killed each other indirectly.  Nonetheless, I copied and pasted the translation of Mirza Bashir Ahmad’s essay from here: https://www.scribd.com/document/79714502/The-Question-of-Divided-Loyalty-by-Mirza-Bashir-Ahmad

The essay
“”The Question of Divided Loyalty Some Parallels From History””

MIRZA BASHIR AHMAD (1893-1963)

Translated from Urdu by Professor Mohammad Aslam

During the U. S. Presidential election two contestants were in the field: Nixon and Kennedy. Kennedy being a Catholic, doubts were raised over his loyalty to the role of President. Catholics are followers of the Pope, and strict in their religious affiliation. If U.S. interests demand one thing and the Pope (or Kennedy‘s own faith) another, what will Kennedy do? Of two conflicting loyalties, which one will he choose? Will he choose his country and his high office? Or, will he choose his Catholic faith? Will he play the role of President hundred percent? Or will he compromise it by his fealty for the Pope?

Astute Kennedy survived the question and got away with a simple answer. Should the two loyalties-the Pope and the Presidential office-conflict, Kennedy said, he would give up the Presidential office but remain a simple Catholic. (Time, September 26,1960).Kennedy’s answer proved satisfying to Americans. The election swung in his favor and he became President. For the next four years now he will be the Head of the U.S.State. As U.S. Head, he will hold the reins of world politics; the reins of one of the two steeds which pull the chariot of world affairs, the reigns of the other steed being in the hands of the Russian dictator. Gog and Magog in mortal conflict! God help this poor world!

On closer view, however, Kennedy’s reply could not be correct even in Christian terms. Was not Jesus confronted by a similar question? And what was Jesus’ reply?Did he not say (Matt. 22:21-22) “Unto Caesar, Caesar’s and unto God, God’s”?Kennedy did not say this. Maybe, he did not wish to risk unpopularity with American voters. Maybe, if he had done so, American voters would have become confused, uncertain whether Kennedy was a good enough American. This does not make Jesus’reply, however, less clear or less correct. Loyalty belongs to different contexts. In each context it takes its own course. Determined to remain loyal in every context and honest to God in our judgment and understanding, we should have no difficulty, confront no conflict. Jesus, however, was speaking to the Israel, not to men in general. His reply was limited by his context, by his country and his people. He thought onlyof Caesar. He did not put the matter in universal terms. Islamic (or Ahmadiyya)conceptions are different. Islam (or the Ahmadiyyat) is universal. It is for all men,  everywhere, in all sorts of contexts. The teaching of Islam sets forth the subject of loyalties in terms, which cover every condition and all circumstances. The principles of Islam are universal. They relate to all kinds of situations. Muslims, therefore, have no difficulties, no reservations on the subject. No anxiety, conflict or confusion. We can hold our heads high. We are neither ashamed nor uncertain as to what we must doin any given circumstances. This clear conscience, we owe to the grace of our God.We concede this with humility. Read the verse in the Holy Qur’an (4:60):

“O ye who believe obey God and obey the Prophet and obey those in authority from among you.”

The Arabic expression “in authority from among you” should not mislead any one into thinking that loyalty to authority is limited only to Muslim authority. No, not at all.The verse teaches obedience to authority as such. “From among” (Arabic min) also means over or of or in. The verse teaches decorum and discipline in public affairs. It makes loyalty to ruling authority an Islamic duty. Ruler and ruled are pictured in the verse as one group. Always, the verse implies, a community or people consist of both rulers and ruled. The ruled owe obedience to the rulers. This being so, it becomes idle to dispute over the meaning of the verse; to construe that rulers whom Muslims are to obey must be Muslims is simply absurd.

The Promised Messiah, Founder of the Ahmadiyya Movement (on whom be peace),writing about the verse laid down very clearly:

“The Holy Qur’an commands, ‘ Obey Allah and obey His Prophet and obey those in authority among you. ‘ Believers are to obey those in authority, besides God and His Prophet. To say that ‘

those in authority‘ does not include a non-Muslin-Government would be a manifest error. For, a government-or authority-whose ordinances are in accordance with the Shariah (that is, they are not in conflict with it) is ‘ authority from among you.‘ Those who are not against us are among us. The Qur’an, therefore, is unequivocal on the point. Obedience to governmental authority is one of its imperatives.” (Works and Speeches, Vol. (i), p. 261)

So also in the Hadith , the Holy Prophet (on whom be peace and the blessings of God)says:

“He who obeys me, obeys God; he who disobeys me disobeys God. He who obeys his authority obeys me; he who disobeys his authority disobeys me” (Muslim, Kitab alImarah).

In this hadith the whole subject of obedience becomes illuminated. Loyalty and obedience belong by right only to God, Creator, Master, Lord of Men and Nations.Others have authority derived from Him. They reflect the Authority, which is God’s.A Prophet is vicegerent of God, a Messenger, bearer, of divine ordinances. To obey the Prophet is to obey God. Similarly one who has authority among men is responsible for discipline, for order among God’s creatures; a guardian of their lives, property and honor. Obedience to such a one is most pleasing to God. It is obedience to God. Obedience, at whatever level, is one and the same: it is obedience to God.Truly said the Holy Prophet, ‘Obedience to me is obedience to God and obedience toauthority is obedience to me.’

In accordance with all this (the Holy Qur’an, the Holy Prophet’s Hadith, the writings of the Promised Messiah), the present Head of the Ahmadiyya Movement, Hadrat Mirza Bashir-ud-Din Mahmud Ahmad, inculcated loyalty to one’s State. He said clearly:“Our belief is that Islam requires every one to be loyal to the state under which helives… To think that Ahmadis in India or Pakistan will remain loyal to their respective Governments only so long as the Ahmadiyya Head requires them to be so, is senseless and stupid. The Ahmadiyya Head has no prerogative in this matter. His role is to recapitulate, to implement, the teaching and spirit of Islam, not to alter one jot out of it. He is to fulfill not to destroy… Loyalty to a Government or State, according to us, is ordained by the Holy Qur’an and the Qur’an is the Book of God… The Ahmadiyya Head or Khalifa has no right to alter an ordinance contained in the Holy Book. The Khalifa is a deputy, not a dictator. A deputy it bound to authority in the same way as are all the others.” (al-Fazl, April 5, 1949)On another occasion, he said:

“Officers of Government, assistants, clerks, every one: your obligation to carry out orders or directions issued to you by the Government is a special and a serious one. When Government makes a thing binding, then, there can be no deviation, not even by a hair-breadth. Honest belief implies nothing else. When a person elects to serve a Government, forthwith he enters into a solemn covenant. It is that he will be unsparing, sincere and honest in carrying out the duties and obligations assigned to him. If he breaks the covenant, he makes himself answerable both to Government and to God. He engenders his faith, his relation with God.” (al Muslih, June 18, 1953)In common wisdom also, it seems but plain that a movement which seeks adherents,fellow-members, and believers, in all parts of the world cannot but hold on to the principle that every one has to be loyal to the Government under which he lives.Anything short of this would mean disaster. Disorder and disruption rather than peace and goodwill. Disastrous for the movement, and productive of large scale conflicts, such as might destroy good human relations all over the world. If Ahmadis have the least bit of wisdom, they will not entertain a policy which will put an end to their own existence, or jeopardize peace in general. Ahmadis today are to be found in many parts of the world, outside Pakistan and India; in Malaya, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Syria,Egypt, parts of East Africa (such as Kenya, Uganda, Tanganyika), parts of West Africa (such as Nigeria, Ghana,Sierra Leone), Switzerland, Holland, Germany, UK,USA, Canada, South America and so on. Even outside Pakistan and India, in places their numbers run into thousands, and the numbers are on the increase. Such a movement brooks disaster, if it begins to oscillate between different loyalties. Divided loyalty can only be fatal for such a movement-fatal both spiritually and physically.

One imaginary situation is often posed. Two countries, both with Ahmadi populations,go to war, Ahmadis in the two countries profess loyalty to their respective Governments. What are Ahmadis going to do in such a contingency? Will they still side with their respective Governments and engage in mutual killing? The question is not a new one. Neither for us, nor for the rest of the world. Our answer has alwaysbeen this: Yes, even in such a contingency, Ahmadis will remain loyal to their respective Governments. This belief of ours is not of our making. It is a belief taught by God and explained by His Prophet. It is a belief we cannot alter or dilute. If loyalty to their respective Governments results in the killing of Ahmadis by Ahmadis, well that is there and, there is nothing more to be said or done. It is but a consequence, an obligation entailed by our religious belief. Principles have priority over persons.Persons may be sacrificed for the sake of principles, not principles for the sake of persons. Such mutual killing will be forgiven by the Wise and Merciful God of the Qur’an. It will be the result of His own teaching, of conditions, over which we have no control. The situation, however, is not so imaginary. History is full of instances in which professors of the same creed have fought each other. Hindus have fought Hindus,Christians, and Muslims.Believers have put to death other believers of the same religion sometimes several hundred thousand in number. The most cruel wars in history have been fought without cause, and with the most tragic consequences. What then if Ahmadis have to fight against Ahmadis? They will fight and kill one another, if necessary, to save a divine principle: the principle of loyalty to the state to which one belongs. Such wars are an understandable obligation. So, Ahmadis may fight on opposite sides. But while they fight they will also pray for the return of peace, a peace which makes the world safe for truth and justice.True, Ahmadis owe spiritual allegiance to one leader or Imam. How, one may ask, canthey be permitted to take part in mutual killing? The answer is again the same: The Ahmadi Imam is no dictator or ruler who can do what he likes or order his followers as he pleases. The Ahmadi Imam or Khalifa is himself subject to Islamic Law, the
Shariah. The Shariah is above the Khalifa, not the Khalifa above the Shariah. We may quote from the statement of the present Khalifa again (the second Khalita of thePromised Messiah):
“No Khalifa has the power to alter any of God’s ordinances. The Khalifa is no dictator. He is only a deputy. He is bound to. carry out a law, to put through some one else’s commands. He is subject to that law, those commands, as much as all the others in thefold.” (al-Fazl, April 5, 1949)We should also remember that the Ahmadiyya Khilafat is a spiritual institution. It has and seeks no political power, no statehood. Ahmadis seek to advance only by spiritual methods. They and their Head are content to live as loyal citizens under Governments, which guarantee freedom in religious matters.

Then, have not Catholics fought Catholics, belonging to different countries, different states? And yet Catholics owe allegiance to the Pope, believe in him and obey him, as though he were God on earth, (being successor of Christ, the God incarnate). And not Catholics only. Muslims also have fought Muslims. Muslims fought Muslims in the time of the Abb aside Khalifas, whose Khilafat was received as authentic by all Sunni Muslims? Again during the Turkish Khilafat, Muslims of different countries fought one another and yet they owed allegiance to one Khalifa or Imam. These facts are eloquent. They speak and speak loudly. They prove that followers of one and the same creed, owing spiritual loyalty to the same leader or chief, can go to war against one another. Why not Ahmadis? Why cannot they be trusted to do the same? Why cannot they be loyal to their Imam and yet be loyal to the states under which they live?To be brief, the Ahmadiyya stand is clear and clean. Need we reiterate that we Ahmadis living in different countries, under different states and Governments, are loyal to the countries in which we live, to the states and Government under which we live. Ahmadis of Pakistan are loyal to Pakistan, deeply concerned to exert and to prayfor its progress and prosperity. Similarly Ahmadis of India are loyal to India. The position is inevitable. It is the position the late Quaid-i-Azam perceived so clearly in1947. He commended to Indian Muslims the duty of loyalty to India. Ahmadis in Indonesia; are loyal to Indonesia, Ahmadis in Syria and Egypt to the UAR, Ahmadis in West Africa to their African Governments, Ahmadis in Germany are loyal to Germany, Ahmadis in Britain are loyal to Britain, in America to America and so on.This is the divine command and the voice of our hearts. And he who does not believe us and attributes some other belief to us, offends against God and grievously wrongs us. “And our last words are,
True praise is for Allah alone, the Lord of all the Worlds.”
