Intro
Munir Hamid converted to Qadianism when he was barely 15. Thus, Mr. Munir Hamid of Philadelphia was a pioneer member of the Qadiani’s in America. However, just like all other African-American-Qadiani’s, his children aren’t interested in Ahmadiyya. Someone who alleges to be his son (Tariq Hamid) did comment in the bottom, however, where are the rest? Is Tariq Hamid a chanda paying member? What is his rank in Ahmadiyya?
In 1969 the Missionary in Charge, U.S.A. Maulvi A.R. Khan Bengali, appointed Mr. Munir Hamid of Philadelphia to hold the office of First National Qaid of the USA jamaat. The organization had ten different departments as advised by the 2nd Qadiani-Ahmadi Khalifa. The local branches were established and Khuddam started implementing the national programs in local majalis.
He died in 2009 and was eulogized by Mirza Masroor Ahmad. See his some of funeral herein.

He died.
An eminent elder Munir Hamid sahib, an Afro-American passed away on 21st February. He was an extremely sincere Ahmadi who had taken his bai’at at the age of fifteen. He was the first Qaid of Khuddamul Ahmadiyya USA and was the president of the Philadelphia Jama’at for more than thirty years. Currently he held the position of naib Ameer of USA. Huzur said his parents were not Muslims, his mother a practising Christian. From ten siblings he was the only religious one. At the time of his bai’at the rule was to have the bai’at form attested by a family elder. His mother refused to attest his form but acknowledged that he was the most spiritual among all her children. At that time he also wrote to Hadhrat Khalifatul Masih II (may Allah be pleased with him) and said the reply he received changed the course of his life. Huzur said he had met him and found him to be most courteous. His ardent love for the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) was such that each time he mention his name he would be in tears. He had great love for the Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) and devotion to the Khulafa. Huzur said the first time he met him he was on his way to attend Jalsa at Bangladesh. On his way back to USA, he met Huzur again and said that after the Jalsa in Bangladesh and meeting with Huzur he was recharged. Huzur said he could not attend the USA Jalsa last year due to ill health. Huzur said had he known the detail of his illness he would have made time to visit him at his home. He leaves behind a widow, two daughters and a son. Huzur said he was one of those people who are especially guided by Allah.

As one of his children, It is clear to me that you have no Idea of what you are talking about. I will pray for you and your family. May Allah show you the right path. Tariq Hamid, son of Munir Hamid. I LOVE being an Ahmadi. Love for All and Hatred for none!

Sir…you have no idea what you are talking about! Obviously you haven’t read the writings of your community in the 1906-1923 era. Call me, 925-382-7728, I can educate you on that. In fact, most African-American converts and desi converts barely read anything!

I know Tariq Hamed personally and his father Muhammad was my first teacher END was one of the most brilliant men that helps shape my intentions to be true too a lot, Almighty. I’m not sure if his remaining children are practicing actively in the community. I can tell you for sure that each one of them Are people are very high character and responsibility in life. My assessment is that he did an amazing job not only with me and others, but more importantly his family.

Assalamu alaikum, I must reiterate what my father (Tariq Hamid) has stated above. It is Allah Swt alone who determines who is Muslim. I am a proud descendent of my grandfather, Munir Hamid. I am his grand daughter and I am a proud Ahmadi. It is very sad that you would spread such divisive rhetoric concerning the descendants of African Americans; Stating that, “ However, just like all other African-American-Qadiani’s, his children aren’t interested in Ahmadiyya.” You speak on what you don’t know. His legacy has transcended through 3 generations, as my children are proud Ahmadi Muslims as well. You will be in my prayers.

@Anisa
Firstly, none of you any islamic or qadiani knowledge at all. Hamid didn’t know much either, since he didn’t triple check any books, nor did he care to. I have written his bio and read more than you guys. Furthermore, you, your father and your grandfather have no idea about Ahmadiyya Takfir. I have written a lengthy article on it, see in the below.
Anisa, are you a chanda paying member? If so, where?
Anisa, African-Americans used to be 90% of Ahmadi’s in America, however, in 2025, it is more like 2%, the Pakistani’s took over and they are highly racist and backwards uber drivers. In fact, it’s so bad, the Ahmadiyya Movement imported an African murrabi (Dibba), since after Azhar Haneef, there are NO more African American Ahmadi Maulvi’s.
Feel free to connect with me, I am also willing to edit.
