Intro
In 1929, after masquerading as an East Indian Yogi and collecting large sums of money, Hazrat Ismet Ali was found out to be a West Indian Negro (See The Philadelphia Tribune of Thu, Aug 08, 1929 ·Page 8). Sheikh Ismet Ali and his wife Mrs. Cajzoran Ali (aka Amber Stein, a white woman) were masquerading and spreading lies and running the the Kaaba Alif Educational Center (on 57th st) in NY until their treasurer (John H. House) turned on them. House testified in court against Ali and his wife and proved that Ali was a negro and pretending to be East Indian in a fraudulent scheme (See the Daily News of Sun, Jul 21, 1929 ·Page 29).
In 1930 (Jan-18), Master Hazrat Ismet Ali was sentenced to 1 to 5 years last week for operating a confidence game. Ali was found guilty, however, his white wife was not (See The Chicago Defender of Sat, Jan 18, 1930 ·Page 10).
In 1930 (Oct-28), the Times-Picayune of Tue, Oct 28, 1930 ·Page 3 reported that E.C. Williams aka Hazrat Ismet Ali stole 50k U.S. dollars from naive followers of his. E.C. Willams was caught in Trinidad (See also Lincoln Journal Star of Tue, Oct 28, 1930 ·Page 4). His name is also written as Ali Ghulam Ismet Ali.
In 1930 (Nov-25), the British government refused to allow Elkener Williams to be extradited back to the USA (See The Windsor Star of Tue, Nov 25, 1930 ·Page 1).
