Intro
There are barely any Ahmadi’s in Brazil. We estimate barely 3-10 Ahmadi’s in the entire country. Ahmadiyya sources allege that Ahmadiyya came to the country in 1986 (Ahmadiyya Muslim Mosques Around The World – A Pictorical Presentation. Ahmadiyya Muslim Community; Khilafat Centenary Edition. 2008. ISBN 978-1882494514). The Ahmadiyya movement bought a mission in 1989 and converted it into a mosque by 2017.
However, there have been little to no converts. In fact, there were a few missionaries working in the country in 2008, by 2021, only one missionary is working. None of these missionaries seem to have been proficient in Portuguese.
In July-2025, on “This Week With Huzoor”, there was a delegation from Brazil, not much was discussed, they were there for the #2025UKJalsa.

Ahmadiyya Muslim Community of Brazil held it 19th Annual Convention on April 14 and 15 at their Mission House in Petrópolis, in the state of Rio de Janeiro.
The two-day event, affectionately known as Jalsa Salana, reported a peak attendance of nearly one hundred people and a message sent by the Khalīfa of Islām, His Hilliness Mirzā Masroor Ahmad, the worldwide head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, was read out to the attendees.
His Holiness Ahmad, who resides in London, UK, sent a special 5-pages message for the participants and Ahmadis of Brazil stressing that only morality and lives guided under the boundaries of morality can successfully fight the societal ills of this time.
Hadhrat Ahmad further said that the stated purpose of the mission initiated by the Holy Founder of Islām, the Holy Prophet Muhammd was to help mankind advance in morality.
Several dignitaries from various walks of life, members of other faiths, and some members from interfaith clergy specially attended the convention.
All visitors stressed the need of interfaith dialogue and appreciated the Ahmadiyya Muslim tradition of advancing the cause of interfaith harmony.
A representative from the Mayer’s office also attended the event.
In the concluding speech, Wasim Ahmad Zafar, national president and missionary in-charge of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Brazil, introduced the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community and stressed the need of continuously building moral characters.
The event ended with silent prayers led by Missionary Zafar, where many non-Muslim attendees joined the prayers according to their own fiath’s dictates.
As per the tradition of the institution of Jalsa Salana, all attendees of the convention were served meals and the guests reportedly enjoyed the Pakistan and Indian style dishes.

Visit to Sao Paulo, Brazil to preach Ahmadiyyat
Hafiz Ihtsham Ahmad Moman, Missionary, Brazil

Brazil is the fifth largest country in the world by area and the sixth by population. The country’s biggest city is Sao Paulo with a population of over 12 million.
By the grace of Allah, there are Jamaat members present in this city. With the guidance of Hazrat Amirul Momineenaa, I visited the city for one week to conduct tarbiyati and tablighi activities, visited the houses of Ahmadi Muslim members and offered congregational prayers and Jumuah prayer with them.
With the help of members of the Jamaat, pamphlets were distributed and banners about Islam and the Promised Messiahas were placed at the city’s popular locations. People’s attention was drawn by a big banner which had the Promised Messiah’s picture and read “The Messiah has come”. People asked a variety of questions about the Promised Messiahas and about Islam Ahmadiyyat.
Moreover, meetings were held with different people to tell them about Islam Ahmadiyyat. I also visited the Buddhist Temple and met with the secretary. Furthermore, I visited a non- Ahmadi mosque in the city and met its Imam. And together with the Imam, we distributed food in the city to the homeless people.
Similarly, some local people who attend the Quran classes I hold met me and bought some Jamaat literature. A lecture was also held to which local guests were invited. In this lecture, I spoke about the advent of the Promised Messiahas.
By the grace of Allah, a Brazilian woman who also attends the Islam and Quran classes was blessed to enter the fold of Ahmadiyyat by performing bai‘at.
May Allah the Almighty bless the Jamaat with the positive fruits of this visit and may the Jamaat continue to grow and succeed at each step. Amin.
