Intro
On Dec-20-1920, Mufti Muhammad Sadiq reported in a letter to Qadian that a business man named J.L. Mott from New Orleans had converted to Qadianism (see ROR of Feb-1921, page 75), aka Shaikh Abdullah Din Muhammad, he was allegedly Franco-Irish.

All of sudden, The Moslem Sunrise of Oct-1921 reports how “Shaikh” Abdullah Din Muhammad (aka Mr. J.L. Mott) is planning to build an Ahmadiyya mosque in New Orleans and is planning to use $500 of his own money. Shaikh Abdullah Din Muhammad (Mr. JL Mott) is planning to build an Ahmadia Moslem Mosque in New Orleans. Some of his American friends have promised considerable help and he himself intends to put 500 dollars into the funds out of his own pocket. May Allah assist him to accomplish this wonderful task. They also report that he is distributing Ahmadiyya literature in New Orleans.

He is mentioned again the Moslem Sunrise of April-1922 (see page 99). His photo is posted in the Moslem Sunrise of July-1922 (see page 111).

He was described in the Moslem Sunrise of July-1922 (see page 111 and page 124) as an influential business man living in New Orleans. The Moslem Sunrise alleged that he worked in the Secret Service and was a war veteran, and finally a Free Mason. He was also the owner (proprietor) of Ahmadi American Asiatic Agency, this seems to be an import/export business. It is also alleged that he is a long time friend of Mufti Muhammad Sadiq.

By 1924, he seems to have created a splinter group of Ahmadi’s in New Orleans and then totally disappeared. After 1925, he totally disappeared in the history of Ahmadiyya.

1924

The Moslem Sunrise of Jan-1924 alleges that Sheikh Abdullah Din Muhammad (Mr. J.L. Mott) sent a clipping of a New Orleans newspaper under the heading, “Berlin is building 2ND Mohammaden Mosque”. In this article it describes the Ahmadiyya Movement as “anti-British”, which is quickly refuted by Maulvi Muhammad Din. Maulvi Muhammad Din wrote in response that Ahmadi’s follow the law of the land wherever they might live. Other newspapers have reported the opposite and call Ahmadi’s as British spies and British propagandists.
