Intro
In a recent debate between Bro Imtiaz and Saleem Meer (on 1-4-25), in terms of swearing an oath on something, which is what Muhammad (Saw) did in terms of the physical return of Eisa (as)(see the famous hadith on 4:159). Saleem wanted to make swearing on oath a trivial matter and at 2:43:16, Saleem presented a counter argument from Bukhari that even Umar (ra) said that Ibn Sayad was the Dajjal on oath (See Izala-e-Auham, Roohani Khazain vol 3 p. 211). However, Bro Imtiaz responded by reminding Saleem Meer that the in the full hadith Muhammad (Saw) told Umar (ra) that he couldn’t overpower Dajjal anyways (since only Eisa [as] can) and thus it is a moot point.
Why did Umar (ra) swear on oath that Ibn Sayad was a Dajjal? At the time, when Muhammad (Saw) and Umar (ra) met Ibn Sayad, he was barely a child. It is recorded in Bukhari that Umar (ra) swore that he was a Dajjal. Muhammad (saw) is recorded as responding to Umar (ra) asking if he can kill Ibn Sayad for disrespecting Muhammad (Saw) in his speech. Nevertheless, Umar (ra) didn’t make a prediction in the future, he was stating a matter of fact, which is obscure as to how he knew and he was stopped by Muhammad (saw) anyways, thus, this is a silly counter argument. Furthermore, the oath was to be taken literally! Umar (ra) really thought that Ibn Sayad was Dajjal.
Lastly, in 1893, via “Karamatus Sadiqeen” (1893), argued that if anyone takes an oath on something, it can’t be metaphorical.

“””That this action is a prediction against the intention. Similarly, there was no clear revelation
about Ibn Sayyad, and the Prophet’s first thought was that Ibn Sayyad was the Dajjal, but this
opinion changed in the end. Such is the condition that Abu Bakr Siddiq (RA) made regarding the
prophecy of Surah Rum. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) clearly stated that the word Muz in the Arabic dictionary is used only for years and I was not properly
informed as to which year this prophecy would be fulfilled within the limit of nine years. Similarly, the hadith in the words of which is Fazahb Wahali al-Inha Al-Imamah O Al-Hijr Fadha Hai Al Madinah Yathrib – is clearly showing that what the Holy Prophet (PBUH) considered to be the place and evidence of prophecy through his Ijtihad was wrong. And according to the prophecies of Jesus Christ the most surprising of the predictions is the situation. Many times they took something to mean a prediction and finally something else appeared. Yehudah was given the twelfth throne of heaven in a prophecy, but he was completely deprived of heaven. And sometimes gave Peter the keys of heaven and sometimes made him a devil. In the same way, it is known from the Bible that the revelation of Jesus Christ was not very clear and many prophecies could not be fulfilled because of them, but they were fulfilled in their true meaning. However, all these things definitely establish the principle that the Prophets (peace be upon them) sometimes are mistaken/wrong/at fault in the interpretation and interpretation of prophecies. As far as the words of revelation are concerned, they are without a doubt children of the first class, but the Prophets have a habit of sometimes giving some detail on their part even in ijtihad. And since they are human beings, there is sometimes a possibility of error in interpretation, but there is no room for this error in matters of religion and belief, because there is a great order in their preaching from Allah and they are also taught to the prophets in practice. Thus, our Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was also shown Paradise and Hell in verses which are Mutawatir.

Sahih al-Bukhari 1354, 1355 – Funerals (Al-Janaa’iz) – كتاب الجنائز – Sunnah.com – Sayings and Teachings of Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه و سلم)
Narrated Ibn `Umar:
`Umar set out along with the Prophet (p.b.u.h) with a group of people to Ibn Saiyad till they saw him playing with the boys near the hillocks of Bani Mughala. Ibn Saiyad at that time was nearing his puberty and did not notice (us) until the Prophet (ﷺ) stroked him with his hand and said to him, “Do you testify that I am Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ)?” Ibn Saiyad looked at him and said, “I testify that you are the Messenger of illiterates.” Then Ibn Saiyad asked the Prophet (p.b.u.h), “Do you testify that I am Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ)?” The Prophet (p.b.u.h) refuted it and said, “I believe in Allah and His Apostles.” Then he said (to Ibn Saiyad), “What do you think?” Ibn Saiyad answered, “True people and liars visit me.” The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “You have been confused as to this matter.” Then the Prophet (ﷺ) said to him, “I have kept something (in my mind) for you, (can you tell me that?)” Ibn Saiyad said, “It is Al-Dukh (the smoke).” (2) The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “Let you be in ignominy. You cannot cross your limits.” On that `Umar, said, “O Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ)! Allow me to chop his head off.” The Prophet (p.b.u.h) said, “If he is he (i.e. Dajjal), then you cannot overpower him, and if he is not, then there is no use of murdering him.” (Ibn `Umar added): Later on Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) (p.b.u.h) once again went along with Ubai bin Ka`b to the date-palm trees (garden) where Ibn Saiyad was staying. The Prophet (p.b.u.h) wanted to hear something from Ibn Saiyad before Ibn Saiyad could see him, and the Prophet (p.b.u.h) saw him lying covered with a sheet and from where his murmurs were heard. Ibn Saiyad’s mother saw Allah’s Apostle while he was hiding himself behind the trunks of the date-palm trees. She addressed Ibn Saiyad, “O Saf ! (and this was the name of Ibn Saiyad) Here is Muhammad.” And with that Ibn Saiyad got up. The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “Had this woman left him (Had she not disturbed him), then Ibn Saiyad would have revealed the reality of his case.
