Intro
Wallace Farad was not named as “Master Fard” initially in the 1932, this is a later development by Elijah Mohammed and his team in the 1950’s and early 1960’s. Per the newspapers of Nov-Dec-1932, it is clearly discerned that his name was Wallace Farad. It should be noted that a Farad (symbol: F) is the unit of electrical capacitance, the ability of a body to store an electrical charge, in the International System of Units (SI)(See the Portland Press Herald of Wed, Oct 03, 1934 ·Page 10 for an explanation too and the Reno Gazette-Journal of Wed, Jun 22, 1932 ·Page 10). Furthermore, there was a famous Farad Powerhouse (an Electrical Power Plant) in California which used the some of the same math (calculus) that Wallace Farad wrote in his famous Lessons. Thus, it becomes quite obvious that Wallace Farad used fake names as he sold his goods from abroad, just like the Qadiani-Ahmadi Maulvi Muhammad Yusuf Khan (see Dannin). See his FBI file herein.
In fact, in the Detroit Free Press, (Of Nov-23-1932), he is referred to as Farad an oriental fakir. Also as Wallace D. Farad, an Arabian fakir looking to make financial gain by exploiting Negro’s. The Lansing State Journal of Thu, Nov 24, 1932 (Page 1) write his name as Wallace Fard (this is an obvious typo error). Also, in the Detroit Free Press of Tue, Nov 29, 1932 (Page 9) his name is spelled as Wallace Farad. Thus, after Wallace Farad had left in 1932, Elijah Mohammed changed his own last name and that of his brothers and that of Wallace Farad. Again, in the Detroit Free Press of Wed, Dec 07, 1932 Page 7, his name is spelled as Wallace Farad. On Dec-31-1932, The Afro-American (Sat, Dec 31, 1932 ·Page 6) published what seems to be a letter by Wallace D. Farad and from Chicago.
In 1933, 6 months after Farad was banished from Detroit, he was found and arrested (See the Detroit Free Press of Fri, May 26, 1933 Page 10), his name is written as Wallace D. Farad. He was found at the Traymore Hotel (See Detroit Free Press, Fri, May 26, 1933 Page 10). Notice how the middle initial was added. However, he isn’t mentioned again in any local newspaper for almost a year.
In March of 1934 (see The Dowagiac Daily News, Tue, Mar 27, 1934 ·Page 1), his name is spelled as Wallace Farad. Farad was asked to leave Detroit but had returned many times. The University of Islam was raided by police and 19 Negro instructors were arrested and held.
On Wednesday April 18-1934 (Via the Detroit Free Press, 1934, Apr–19, Page 1), 13 policemen were injured and 41 Negroes were arrested when rioters marched upon the local police station where 18 instructors (19 total) of the “University of Islam” were being held. An hour after the riot, the 19 workers were arraigned. They were charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor. They all pleaded not guilty. Here are the names of those who were arraigned:
1—Mary Rozier (33 years old)
2—Albert Sharrief (20 years old)
3—Mary Almanza (31 years old)
4—Burnsteen Sharrief (17 years old)
5—John Mohammed (24 years old)
6—Wali Mohammed (33 years old)
7—James Mohammed (36 years old)
8—David Sharrief (17 years old)
9—Ocier Zarrief (29 years old)
10—Tadar Ali (25 years old)
11—Willie Majied (25 years old)
12—Rozell Shah (44 years old)
13—Abbas Rassoull (34 years old)
14—Allar Cushmeer (38 years old)
15—Willie Mohammed (68 years old)
16—Kallat Mohammed (29 years old)
17—Elijah Mohammed (36 years old)
18—Azzad Mohammed (51 years old)
19—Jim Sharrief (25 years old)
On Apr-25-1934, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch (Wed, Apr 25, 1934 ·Page 2) reported that the 18 instructors at the “University of Islam” were released, not charged with any crime, however, Elijah Mohammed was given parole.
On Apr-26-1934, the Detroit Free Press reported that at trial, fifteen-year-old Sally Ali, who had attended the University of Islam, testified that she had been taught “in the Islamic New Deal that if she cut off the heads of four devils—devils being unrighteous people—she would win a free trip to Mecca and a button of some sort.” She further testified that she had been taught that Caucasians would be destroyed in the year 1934 by poison gas and fighting. Sally Ali alleged that the prophet and savior is a man named is G.D. Farrand (aka Wallace Farad). The court alleged that Farrand had been in Detroit in 1934, however, no evidence exists (See the Detroit Free Press of Thu, Apr 26, 1934 ·Page 1 and 2). Also, on Apr-26, Elijah Mohammed gets probation for child truancy. Wallace Farad is not mentioned at all. (See Corpus Christi Times of Thu, Apr 26, 1934 ·Page 2).
Via the Detroit Tribune (of Sat, Apr 28, 1934 ·Page 1), all instructors that were arrested in March were released with no charges, Elijah Mohammed got 6 months of probation.
In the Detroit Free Press of Apr-29-1934, W.D. Fard is mentioned as the prophet/savior of this voodooo cult of negroes and Elijah Mohammed is listed as the pastor. Moreover, via the Detroit Free Press of Sun, Apr 29, 1934 ·Page 13, W.D. Fard is mentioned as the founder as well as prophet and savior.
In Aug-1934, shortly after W.D. Fard had already disappeared again, Elijah Mohammed published the 3rd issue of the “Final Call to Islam” newspaper. Interestingly, Elijah Mohammed quoted the Quran, Chapter 46, verses 31-32, and inferred that W.D. Fard should be accepted. W.D. Fard was written as Prophet Fard Mohammed. Where did Elijah Mohammed get this argument?
Beynon (1938) interviewed many members of the Temple Nation and thus factualized the idea that his name was only as Mr. Wali Farrad, Professor Ford, Mr. Farrad Mohammed, Mr. F. Mohammed Ali. However, it should be noted that Elijah Mohammed was not interviewed by Beynon (1938).
Beynon (1938) was in the Chicago-Detroit area and interviewed 4 former followers of W.D. Fard: Verlene Mc Queen, (renamed Verlene Ali), Sister Denke Majied, (formerly Mrs. Lawrence Adams), Brother Challar Sharrieff (formerly Mr. Charles Peoples), Mrs. Carrie Peoples (Sister Carrie Mohammed). Beynon explains how there is a new schism in black people who follow the NOI and it has morphed into the “Temple People”, this group takes Fard to be God. Beynon reveals that Elijah Poole aka Elijah Karriem aka Elijah Mohammed is the leader of this new splinter sect. Interestingly, on page 901, the 3 Poole brothers were given different names and surnames, thus causing a confusion, which was allegedly resolved by Fard telling them they weren’t blood brothers. However, it should be noted that in the Detroit Free Press of Thu, Apr 19, 1934 Page 1, his name is written as Elijah Mohammed. His brother John was also arrested and his future wife, Burnsteen.
13 years later, via Hatim, Elijah Mohammed was interviewed and he only said that he wished he could call W.D. Fard as “Master” (See page 70). In this study, his name is only spelled as W.D. Fard (100+ times), there were no other variations.
Elijah Mohammed alleges that he was the 3rd minister (notice the Christian title), the two before him had full Muslim names, they were Abdul Mohammed and Othman Ali (both full Muslim names with no direct connection to India) and had strong connections to the Moorish Science Temple and eventually opposed W.D. Fard and Elijah Mohammed. Thus, it is proven that W.D. Fard can never be responsible for the plethora of Urdu/Persian names that were given out later.
In the late 1950’s/early 1960’s, Maulana Muhammad Abdullah (a famous Lahori-Ahmadi) began working for Elijah Mohammed and began to introduce Indian/Desi names like Farrakhan and Shabazz. It should be noted that Fard wasn’t fond of giving out full Muslim names. Even Burnsteen kept her German name. Even Elijah Poole kept his first name. The word Shabazz doesn’t appear in Beynon or Hatim or anywhere in NOI literature pre-1960. In fact, even Malcolm X didn’t change his name until after he left the NOI in 1964. The famous name Ugan Ali isn’t native to India either. Furthermore, one last point, members of the NOI didn’t begin calling Fard as “Master Fard” until the late 1950’s! This is also odd, since in slave days, the whites were called “Master”. Obviously, in Indian terminology it could mean someone who holds a “Masters Degree”.
In 1989, on page 158, Richard Brent Turner alleges to have met Muhammad Abdullah before he died in Sep-1989, in Hayward, California. Turner alleges that Muhammad Abdullah told him that Elijah Muhammad believed in Islam, however, he purposely told lies. Richard Brent Turner called Muhammad Abdullah as the leader of the Lahori-Ahmadi’s in California and a close friend and confidant. This was published in 1997. On page 164, Richard Brent Turner explains how Muhammad Abdullah told him that he fabricated his connections to Wallace Farad. Muhammad Abdullah explained how he allowed Warith Deen Muhammad to call him as “his Fard”.

Cult Conceived by Islamic Religious Fakir, Nurtured by Grafting Fanatics
He is referred to as Farad. Farad was arrested coming out of his hotel room at 1 W. Jefferson Avenue, Detroit. Farad was smiling enigmatically. He did not resist arrest. At police Headquarters, Farad evaded questions cleverly and had the smile of a complacent Oriental Fakir. Farad told detectives that he is the “supreme being on Earth”. Farad admitted to teaching Ugan Ali about Islam and Ugan had helped Farad start the Detroit chapter. Farad makes money via collections from his gullible followers and proceeds from his sales as a representative for a printing firm, said Farad himself. Each member of the cult is required to have an “identification card”, which Farad sold for a fee. Farad said that there were no funds in his cult’s treasury. Farad alleges that he has started a fund to pay an overdue electric bill in the temple. Farad alleges that Harris and Ugan Ali had misunderstood his teachings, and human sacrifices were not tolerated in his cult. Farad said that the death penalty is only for those who “disturb the peace in our temples”. Farad alleged to have members in Chicago, New York and Philadelphia.
–Detectives Wednesday expressed themselves as convinced that the cult had been conceived by an Arabian religious Fakir and for personal gain.
–3 men arrested with murder are Robert Harris and Wallace D. Farad (an Arabian, who confessed himself the supreme leader of the Detroit cult of Islam. Ugan Ali is the 3rd, a teacher.
–While in custody, Robert Harris falls into trances and has refused to eat.

Detroit, Mich., April 25.–Circuit Judge Arthus E. Gordon today dismissed charges of contributing to the delinquency of children against 18 instructors in a Negro “University of Islam,” but convicted “Elijah Mohammed,” who said he was a minister at the school. “Mohammed” was admitted to probation.
‘I am not going to fine or sentence you,’ Judge Gordon told the cult leader. I do not think that would solve the problem. I don’t care anything about you adults, .. we do want your children to have the same opportunities as our children’.
When the defendants were arraigned last week, 500 followers of the cult made a demonstration in front of police headquarters, causing injuries to 20 policemen and an equal number of Negroes””.

43 members of the “Allah Temple of Islam” on 3743 South State St. were arrested for inciting a riot and possible murder. Among the 43 prisoners was also a man named King Shah, 38 years old and living at 3242 South State St. and Allah Shah, 18 years old and living at 2556 Warren boulevard, both were wounded in the riot. Their Moorish names puzzled the police until King Shah disclosed that the prophet of their order, W.D. Fard, or Fard Mohammad, or Elijah Mohammed, had christened them thus last spring. A police search for Prophet Fard was started but he could not be found last night. Fard was described as one “born in the holt city of Mecca in 1877″, who came to America on July 4, 1930. King Shah also seems to be claiming to be a minor-prophet. It seems that Elijah Mohammed is missing.
Captain Joseph Palcynski (73 years old, a veteran of nearly 50 years on the police force) via heart attack was the possible murder charge. The baillif named Philip Brankin was shot in the chest was awaiting a life-saving blood transfusion. a negro was shot, 38 people, 12 policemen, 6 bailiffs and 20 negros were cut or bruised. This happened in the Woman’s court, presided over by Municipal Judge Edward S. Scheffler. It was like a fanatical frenzy. The cultists were wearing their red, crescent marked fezzes askew, stormed through the court room with wild shouts.
After questioning many witnesses, the newspaper concluded that Mrs. Rosetta Hassan, who lives at 3342 South State street. On Friday, while riding a street car with her husband, Zach Hassan and their 9-year old son, Zack Jr., Mrs. Hassan became embroiled in a quarrel with Mrs. Athenasia Christopolous, who lives at 1448 Monroe Street, whose young son also accompanied her. Mrs. Christopolous alleges that that her glasses were broken in the quarrel and sought a warrant vs. Mrs. Hassan.
In the courtroom, all the negro cultist jumped into action at precisely when the order was given. A riot seems to have ensued. Chairs went flying! Captain Joseph Palcynski (73 years old, a veteran of nearly 50 years on the police force) ran towards all the trouble. King Shah pushed Palcynski to the floor, some reports alleged that many Negro’s jumped on him. He was dead a few seconds later. The bailiff, Philip Brankin dashed into the fight and seems to have shot Allah Shah (left foot) and King Shah (right shoulder). However, it was unclear as to who fired the weapons. No weapons were found! Several witnesses reported seeing bailiffs and police men with drawn revolvers. 30 of the 40 prisoners are also facing contempt of court accusations. They all allege to be from the ‘Allah Temple of Islam”, which propounds the theory that all blacks are Moors and not Negroes. The original prophet was Noble Drew Ali. The Chicago Temple, seems to be an offshoot of Drew’s original group.
“””A quarrel between 2 women on a street car 10 days ago developed yesterday into a man sized riot in a court room, on the 9th floor of the police headquarter building at 1121 South State St””.

Allegedly, Satohashi Takahashi was trying to mobilize negroes against the U.S. government in 1942-1943.
“””……Satohashi Takahashi, a retired major of the imperial army, set up the “Pacific Movement of the Eastern World Inc.” aimed to convince negros that the yellow race, not the white, was their true friend.
He had branch offices in Chicago, Cleveland, Tulsa, Cincinatti, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Detroit and Gary. He said that Japan was about to invade America, that this was a white man’s war and no concern of the Negro, and that they should accumulate arms and ammunition to help the Japs when they got here.
No Relationship
The Negroes joined up, took his money, had a swell entertainment, but pitched the Black Dragon society’s scion in the pokey when he told Hoosier Negroes that they were brothers of the Japanese.
“‘Gulan Bogans, a Georgian Negro, swore he had run into Allah on a street in Detroit and Allah told him he (Bogans) really was Mohammed Elijah destined to lead his race into the ‘invisible empire of Islam’ and deliver it from the ‘North American Wilderness””.
This took hold in several places with all the pomp and popularity of a paid-up burial society. Every recruit got a fancy Moslem name, but pretty soon, the dues got too heavy and the boys told the FBI about Gulan””.

He said that Japan was about to invade America, that this was a white man’s war and no concern of the Negro, and that they should accumulate arms and ammunition to help the Japs when they got here.

Wallace Fard Muhammad – Wikipedia
A declassified Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) memorandum dated May 16, 1957, states: “From a review of instant file it does not appear that there has been a concerted effort to locate and fully identify W. D. Fard. In as much as Elijah Muhammad recognizes W.D. Fard as being Allah (God) and claims that Fard is the source of all of his teachings, it is suggested that an exhaustive effort be made to fully identify and locate W. D. Fard and/or members of his family.”[93] The FBI took note of the article written by Erdmann Doane Beynon, and it conducted a search for Fard using various aliases including the name “Ford”.[94] On October 17, 1957, the FBI located and interviewed Hazel Barton-Ford, Wallie Ford’s common-law wife, with whom he had a son named Wallace Dodd Ford, born on September 1, 1920.[95] This son, later also known as Wallace Max Ford, died in 1942. He was serving for the United States Coast Guard, during World War II, at the time of his death.[96] Barton-Ford gave a description of Wallie Ford, and described him as a Caucasian New Zealander.[95]

Wallace Fard Muhammad – Wikipedia
The FBI’s search for Fard was officially closed the following year on April 15, 1958.[97] Immigration records did not match any of his aliases. His true identity remains unknown,[98] but there is strong evidence that the Nation of Islam founder Wallace D. Fard was the same man as Wallace Dodd Ford, an inmate in San Quentin Prison. According to Patrick D. Bowen, a PhD candidate at the University of Denver‘s Iliff School of Theology, fingerprints and photographs taken from San Quentin Prison matched those of Fard taken during the 1930s in Detroit; furthermore, in San Quentin he almost certainly came in contact with African American Muslim preachers and converts also incarcerated there.[5]

Wallace Fard Muhammad – Wikipedia
On August 15, 1959, the FBI sent a story to the Chicago New Crusader newspaper, stating that Fard was a “Turkish-born Nazi agent who worked for Hitler in World War II“. According to the FBI story, Fard was a “Muslim from Turkey who had come to the United States in the early 1900s. He had met Muhammad in prison … where the two men plotted a confidence game in which followers were charged a fee to become Muslims.”[99]
After the story was published, Elijah Muhammad and Malcolm X subsequently charged black media outlets, which reprinted the accusation in large numbers, with running the story without requesting a response from the Nation of Islam.[99]
According to the FBI, Fard was linked to the Pacific Movement of the Eastern World, a pro-Japanese movement of African Americans which promoted the idea that the Empire of Japan was the champion of all non-white peoples, and to senior members of the Black Dragon Society, such as Satokata Takahashi and Ashima Takis.[100] The FBI charged that Takahashi had been an influential presence in the Nation of Islam. He spoke as a guest at the NOI temples in Detroit and Chicago.[101][better source needed]

“White Man is God for Cult of Islam,” New Crusader, August 15, 1959.
“”Talib Dawud, a jazz trumpeter and prolific proselytizer associated with the Moslem Brotherhood of America, Inc., first attacked the NOI in 1959 with a series of articles in the black Chicago newspaper, the New Crusader. The most scathing was a photograph of NOI founder W.D. Fard, whom the group believed to be Allah-in-person, with the subtitle: “White Man is God for Cult of Islam.”

A February 19, 1963, FBI memorandum states: “In connection with efforts to disrupt and curb growth of the NOI, extensive research has been conducted into various files maintained by this office. Among the files reviewed was that of Wallace Dodd Ford.”[102] Five months later, in July 1963, the FBI told the Los Angeles Evening Herald-Examiner that Fard was actually Wallace Dodd Ford.[103] The paper published the story in an article titled “Black Muslim Founder Exposed As White.”[104][dubious – discuss] An FBI memorandum dated August 1963 states that the FBI had not been able to verify his birthdate or birthplace, and “he was last heard from in 1934.”[105]
