Intro
Abdullah Shafiq, a 23-year-old university student and Ahmadiyya youth group leader in Australia, pleaded guilty on Thursday to 16 counts of disseminating, possessing, and producing child abuse material (watch the news report herein on local-7 news in Australia, and on TikTok and Twitter)(check out my video with AK Shaikh in Urdu/Punjabi)(Farooq and Amir Haq have streamed too)(and via the Advertiser TikTok channel). These offenses occurred in Oct-2024 and March-2025 (see article from Advertiser), Abdullah Shafiq’s identity was hidden from the public via a court order. During the investigation, in May-2025, Abdullah Shafiq bought property in Australia valued at 700k+. On Thursday (Oct-2-2025), Judge Mr. Wickens removed an existing suppression order which was in place to protect the identity of Shafiq – but denied prosecution application to have his bail revoked.

His Ahmadi relatives are rich enough to help him make bail! Thus, Abdullah Shafiq is free and roaming around Australia. Abdullah Shafiq is scheduled to appear in the District Court in November for sentencing.

Shafiq was an active member of the Ahmadiyya Youth Association (AMYA), a global youth organization affiliated with the Ahmadiyya Community. Shafiq held the position of Nazim Tabligh, or head of preaching, for AMYA’s Australia chapter, where he was responsible for coordinating outreach and religious education programs. His role involved organizing efforts to spread the teachings of the Ahmadiyya Community and engaging with communities across Australia. In 2019, Abdullah Shafiq sang one of Mirza Basheer ud Din Mahmud Ahmad’s stupid poems at the 2019 Australia Jalsa Salana.

Shafiq also volunteered extensively with the Adelaide chapter of Humanity First, an international not-for-profit relief agency associated with the Ahmadiyya Community. As part of its Adelaide chapter, Shafiq organized a fundraiser in 2024 titled Support the Homeless this Winter—Share Warmth & Spread Hope. Shafiq’s volunteer efforts were highlighted on the fundraiser’s GoFundMe page, which encouraged donors to support the Adelaide chapter’s work. The Australia branches of Humanity First and the Ahmadiyya Community did not respond to requests for comment on Abdullah Shafiq’s involvement in their organizations.

Ahmadiyya Youth Leader Found Guilty of Child Exploitation Crimes

Abdullah Shafiq, a 23-year-old university student and Ahmadiyya youth group leader, pleaded guilty on Thursday to 16 counts of disseminating, possessing, and producing child abuse material. The offenses, which occurred between October 2024 and March 2025, have led to his suspension from Flinders University and a ban from campus and online classes involving other students and staff.

Despite prosecution attempts to revoke bail, Shafiq was remanded on continuing bail. His defense cited ongoing university exams, medical appointments, and financial obligations, including a significant mortgage, as reasons for bail to be maintained. He is scheduled to appear in the District Court in November for sentencing.

Outside of his university studies, Shafiq was an active member of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association (AMYA), a global youth organization affiliated with the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. Shafiq held the position of Nazim Tabligh, or head of preaching, for AMYA’s Australia chapter, where he was responsible for coordinating outreach and religious education programs. A Flinders University student who has dedicated his young adulthood to “supporting and feeding” homeless individuals was doing so while committing horrific child sexual crimes, a court has heard.

In the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Thursday, Abdullah Shafiq, 23, pleaded guilty to 16 counts of disseminating, possessing and producing child abuse material.

Prosecutors told Magistrate Justin Wickens they would apply to have Shafiq’s bail revoked – meaning he would be remanded in custody – but Hugh Woods, for the Sheidow Park man, told the court his client was “still in the process” of completing his degree.

“I can indicate that he has regular appointments with his general practitioner,” Mr Woods said. “Additional to that, Your Honour, he has university exams.

“In May this year, as a young man, he signed his first mortgage agreement and owes $719,000 to the bank.

“With all those factors in mind … I suggest bail should continue in the meantime.”

Court documents, obtained by the Advertiser, reveal Shafiq’s offending occurred between October last year and March this year.

Outside of his university studies, Shafiq says he is a member of Humanity First – a youth group aiming to raise funds to help feed the homeless.

A fundraiser, organised by Shafiq, has amassed nearly $2000 in donations.

“We are a dedicated youth group based in Adelaide, and we would love your help in Supporting and Feeding the Homeless individuals, right in our home, Adelaide,” the GoFundMe, which is under his name, says.

“Our goal is to raise funds to help the lesser-fortunate individuals in Adelaide, and to help them get through this cold and harsh winter. Your generous contribution will make a direct impact on those in need.

“Humanity First is an international not-for-profit, non-political, non-religious relief agency that provides aid on the basis of necessity alone, irrespective of caste, creed, colour or religion.”

“Have a look at some of the wonderful work the Adelaide chapter of Humanity First has been doing,” the GoFundMe says.
