Nina Stauffer’s name appears in the South-Side News of Thu, Jun 12, 1930 ·Page 6 as a student of the Zinter Music School and later as a teacher. She appears in the newspapers of Chicago all throughout 1931-1933 as a musician of sorts in “dramatic arts” (See the South-Side News of Thu, Mar 05, 1931 ·Page 5 and many others) and affiliated with the Zinter Music School.
She has an essay (Religion and Art) in the Oct-1932-Jan-1933 edition of the Moslem Sunrise. She has another essay (Islam and Science) in the April-July-1933 edition of the Moslem Sunrise. And in Oct-Jan-1934, entitled, “Islam in the Renaissance”. And in March-1935, “Points of Interest in Muhammad’s Career”.
Via the Moslem Sunrise of Feb-1938, allegedly, “Prophet’s Day” was held on Oct-31, 1937 in Chicago by Ahmadi’s (this essay is by Nina Stauffer). It is also alleged that similar “Prophet’s Day” events were held at other Ahmadiyya centers in Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Indianapolis and Kansas City. Nina Stauffer alleges that this was held at the Ahmadiyya Mosque/temple on Wabash Ave with Sufi Muti-ur-Rahman Bengali as the chairman. A Syrian Muslim (not an Ahmadi), Mr. Saleem Nimar recited the Quran. Omar Khan (previously written as Brother Omar) was the first speaker and was called the “President” of the Ahmadi’s in Chicago. Thereafter, Omar Cleveland (white man) gave a lecture. Dr. Tarbell was there too.
In 1946, via the Moslem Sunrise of the 3rd Quarter-1946, Sufi Muti-ur-Rahman Bengali gave 220 South State St., Suite 1010 as the mailing address for the Ahmadiyya Movement in Chicago, he also gave an address at 2532 Center Ave, Pittsburgh, which was managed by Maulvi Mirza Monawar Ahmad. “Life of Muhammad” by Sufi M.R. Bengalee is promoted heavily too. Nina Stauffer alleges that Sir Muhammad Zafrullah Khan stopped in Chicago and spoke to some Ahmadi’s, Stauffer alleges that he even spoke to Ahmadi’s from Kansas City, Cleveland, Pittsburgh and Indianapolis (see page 23). Another book by Sufi Muti-ur-Rahman Bengali, “Tomb of Jesus” (published in 1946, from the USA) is promoted.
