Rahmat, I’ve been answering your questions with laws, zoning regulations, and factual sources. Now it’s your turn. No dodging, no vague responses—answer these directly, or admit you can’t. Everyone in this chat can see the debate, so let’s be transparent.
• Bradford’s council voted NO three times. If democracy matters, why is AMJ ignoring the town’s decision?
• If a local business applied for an event permit and got denied, would they get three more chances?
• Bradford’s Zoning By-law 2010-050 designates agricultural land for farming, not events.
• Ontario’s PPS 2020, Section 2.3.1, protects farmland from non-agricultural use.
• If AMJ’s event was just a one-time gathering, why are internal AMJ statements discussing building permanent infrastructure for future events?
• Under Bradford’s Special Events By-law, groups apply once, and a decision is made.
• AMJ has had multiple reconsiderations—why does AMJ deserve special privileges that no other group gets?
• Past AMJ events in Bradford caused severe traffic congestion and blocked emergency response routes.
• If AMJ has “traffic solutions,” why didn’t they prevent this in the past?
• How does Bradford handle 1,500+ extra cars per day on rural roads not designed for this capacity?
• If AMJ says there are no on-site sleeping arrangements, where are these 20,000+ attendees staying?
• Is AMJ ensuring that attendees are not illegally camping, clogging hotels, or disrupting surrounding areas?
• If AMJ truly accepted the rejection, why do they still claim Bradford as a “pending” location?
• Doesn’t this prove they never accepted the decision and plan to push again?
• The only people pushing this event are AMJ and their supporters—yet local farmers, businesses, and residents don’t want it.
• If this event were so good for the town, why is there so much resistance from people who actually live here?
• Carrot Fest is municipally planned and spread across the town, supporting businesses.
• AMJ’s event is private, on farmland, and does not generate local business revenue.
• If a music festival or car show tried to do this on agricultural land, would they get special reconsiderations like AMJ? No, they wouldn’t.
• The Planning Act of Ontario gives municipalities the right to restrict land use for public safety and infrastructure reasons.
• If this event actually complied with zoning laws, why was a Temporary Use Zoning By-law Amendment required?
• Why does AMJ think they can bend zoning laws that are meant to protect farmland?
• AMJ applied, got denied, then kept pushing.
• AMJ had multiple reconsiderations, and still got denied.
• No other group gets this many chances—why does AMJ think the rules don’t apply to them?
I’ve backed up my points with laws, zoning regulations, and factual sources. You’ve avoided direct answers for too long.
If you can’t answer these questions with clear facts, then the debate is over. Bradford has spoken, the law is clear, and this event is not happening.
