Intro
It seems that ever since the rise of the Safavid Empire (the rise of the Shias), the Shia Tafsir work on 62:3 has changed.

However, I checked classical Tafsir like Tafsir Qummi doesn’t connect the Shia imams to this verse. Ali ibn Ibrahim al-Qummi (d. 919 CE) was a prominent 3rd/4th century Shia scholar, jurist, and hadith transmitter. In Tafsir Qummi, 62:3 is not connected to the famous Shia imams, in fact, there is only a short note which refers to Nurus Thaqlayn, Vol. 5, Pg. 323; Tafsir Burhan, Vol. 8, Pg. 8.

Modern Shia tafsir (Like Tafseer al-Mizan)(exegesis) of Quran 62:3 (“And [to] others of them who have not yet joined them”) emphasizes the continuation of divine guidance through the Prophet’s Household (Ahl al-Bayt) and Imams, seeing the “others” as future believers and especially the awaited 12th Imam, al-Mahdi.

More to come….
