In 2026 (Oct-23), on an episode of “This Week with Huzoor”, an Ahmadi questioner (Ansarullah from the New York and Houston Regions of the USA) said that he knew many Ahmadi’s that have taken out loans on “commercial properties” and subsequently paid “interest” as part of the re-payment plan. The questioner asked if this was allowed (jaiz)(See the clip on TikTok and Twitter).

Mirza Masroor Ahmad said that “interest” is never halaal in general terms. However, Mirza Masroor Ahmad then quoted MGA and argued that engaging in small amounts of “interest” was halaal for Ahmadi’s, however, the “interest” wherein a person is subjugated for life via unfair payments is haraam.
