Intro
In 2026 (Jun), during the debate between Sheikh Asrar Rashid vs. Maulvi Razi, the Quranic Tafsir of Ibn Abbas via Ali ibn Abi Talha was discussed, specifically the famous chapter heading of Bukhari which MGA twisted in 1891 as MGA lied about what Ibn Abbas was actually arguing, i.e., that Eisa (as) would die in the future per 3:55 of the Quran (3:56 in the Kadiani Koran). This was totally outside the parameters of the debate and was a violation of the debate contract.
At 39:08-39:56, Sheikh Asrar Rashid explains how there are issues with Ali ibn Abi Talha, since he never met Ibn Abbas, Sheikh Asrar Rashid quotes Ibn Hajar Asqalani in this regard and his book, “Tahdhib al-Tahdhib” wherein Ibn Hajar Asqalani says that Ali ibn Abi Talha never met Ibn Abbas. Another book that mentions this is Tahdeed ul Kamal. Even recent researchers have said the same (see “Christ and the Crucifixtion” by Todd Lawson).
At 1:01:55 to 1:05:02 and 1:11:03 to 1:11:24 and 1:21:21 and 1:25:45, Maulvi Razi brings up the issue of the Ibn Abbas chain. At 1:21:21, Maulvi Razi alleges that Ibn Hajar Asqalani called the chain of narrators which includes Ali ibn Abi Talha is daef (weak). Why did Razi say this, it makes no sense. At 1:25:45, Maulvi Razi alleges that Suyuti and Ibn Hajar called this chain (sanad) as the most authentic of Ibn Abbas.
At 3:04:35, Maulvi Razi talks about the “ibn Ali Talha chain”.
