Shaukat Hayat Khan (24 September 1915 – 25 September 1998) was an influential politician, military officer, and Pakistan Movement activist who played a major role in the organizing of the Muslim League in the British-controlled Punjab.
In 1995 he told the world how he was sent to Qadian in what appears to be 1946-1947 and met the 2nd Khalifa. Jinnah had a message for the 2nd Khalifa, Mirza Basheer ud Din Mahmud Ahmad. That message was to pray for the success of Jinnah’s mission and also to support Pakistan. The 2nd Khalifa replied that he had been praying for Jinnah’s success from the beginning and continue to do so and will not allow any Ahmadi to stand against a Muslim Leaguer in any election. Thus, Mumtaz Daultana won the election in Sialkot District and the Ahmadi (Nawab Muhammad Din) who ran against him lost (see 8th March, 1946 khutba, pdf page 9, Khutbaat-e-Mehmood volume volume 27, page 94 onwards)(he was also president of the Sialkot Ahmadiyya jamaat). The name “Nawab Muhammad Deen” is mentioned in relation to politics, alongwith his son Muhammad Naqi, in this Khutba. Interestingly, it’s placed in the section where KM2 tries to rationalize why he ordered Ahmadis to vote for Ahrar. Nawab Muhammad Deen is acknowledged as an Ahmadi politician in this passage, but any details about his excommunication etcetera don’t seem apparent to me(page 12 pdf, Khutbaat-e-Mehmood volume volume 27, page 94). So much is clear though that KM2 did not look at him favorably. An interesting observation in the same Khutba, the entire Jamaat of Gujranwala was punished because they exercised their democratic right and voted to whom they saw fit (see 8th March, 1946 khutba, pdf page 9, Khutbaat-e-Mehmood volume volume 27, page 91).
In 1946, an Ahmadi politician in British-India was ex-communicated for running against the Muslim League – ahmadiyyafactcheckblog
Excerpt from Sardar Shoukat Hayat’s book The Nation that lost its soul:
“”After the meeting that night, at about twelve midnight, I reached Qadian. When I got there Hazrat Sahib had retired. I sent him a message that I had brought a request for him from the Quaid-i-Azam. He came down immediately and enquired what Quaid’s orders were? I conveyed him Quaid’s message to pray for and also support Pakistan. He replied, ’Please convey to the Quaid-i-Azam that we have been praying for his Mission from the very beginning. Where the help of his followers a is concerned, no Ahmadi will stand against a Muslim Leaguer and if someone disobeys my advice the community will not support him’. So Mumtaz Daultana won an overwhelming victory over the President of local Ahmadi community, a sitting member from the Sialkot District.””
Notice that the article by Alislam just stops when it mentions that:
“”Where the help of his followers is concerned, no Ahmadi will not stand against any Muslim Leaguer.””
And doesnt mention the next part which says:
if someone disobeys my advice the community will not support him’. So Mumtaz Daultana won an overwhelming victory over the President of local Ahmadi community, a sitting member from the Sialkot District.
This article mentions the name of that ahmadi ” Nawab Mohammed Deen”, There is no mention of Mumtaz Doultana or Nawab Mohammed deen on alislam article. In this video on the mark of 14:28 the man says:
Sardar shoukat hayat, a young leader of Pakistan movement has wrote that once Mr. Jinnah sent me to Qadian to the current caliph of Ahmadiyya movement to pray for us and support the movement of Pakistan. He says when I talked to the Caliph, he said, we already support the movement and if any Ahmadi runs for election against any Muslim League candidate, he will be excommunicated. And that’s exactly what happened. An ahmadi did run for elections against Mumtaz Daultana and was in fact excommunicated from Jamaat.”””
