Intro
Qadianis (Yahya Khan) in the last stream with (5:45:22) @MrAdnanRashid and @DWI_MImtiaz claimed that Qurtubi believed that Joseph the Carpenter and Maryam were “hanging around” (with sexual connotations) before she was pregnant (astagfarullah). They got this from MGA and his book “Ayyam us Sulh” (See the full quote in the below), in it, MGA alleged that Afghani tribes were just like the Jewish tribes and they also allowed their young girls to go and “hang around” with their fiance’s even before marriage. MGA even said that the Afghani tribes view “engagements” like “nikah” and never differentiated between the two (these are lies).

Thus, Yahya Khan accused Al-Qurtubi of saying the same. However, our team quickly double checked the sources and realized that Al-Qurtubi was only presenting the Biblical narrative (also called Israʼiliyyat) as a form of reviewing the relevant literature. Al-Qurtubi held the view that Maryam (RA) gave birth to Isa (pbuh) right after she conceived him as he found this the apparent meaning of Ayah 19:22.

Thus, Al-Qurtubi disagreed with the Biblical narrative (also called Israʼiliyyat), in fact, Al-Qurtubi preferred the Islamic position that Maryam never “hung around” with any non-mahram men in her whole life. Razi was sliding information to Yahya Khan and thus thoroughly embarrassed Yahya Khan for bringing a false reference.

“”5th point is their customs, which are similar to Jews, as their tribes don’t make a difference between regular relationship and marriage. Ladies meet their fiance quite often. Hazrat Mariam used to meet with her fiance Yousaf (Yusuf)(Joseph) before marriage, this is quote sufficient evidence of jewish customs. But these customs are too much between women of tribes of Sarhad, some of these women even get pregnant before nikah (marriage), and its not considered bad, people used to get-away with it and laugh, because like jews they believe “this-arrangement” to be like a nikah, because before it they fix a dowry for it…”
