In 1925, Mrs. Hazel Barton (aged-30) of 4522 Toland War, Eagle Rock was arrested for bootlegging. Prohibition officers arrested her at her home on Sunday and found a cache of 90 gallons of mash, a gallon of alcohol and a fine still in full operation. In 1925, On page 9 of “The Los Angeles Times” of Tue, Mar 31, 1925, a photo of Hazel Barton is given. On page 22, the story is given and how her friend died after overdosing on alcohol laced with mercury, which caused the death of Mrs. Helen Osborne. Hazel Barton resurfaced in the late 1950’s, when the FBI was working on the identity of WD Fard. Hazel Barton told the FBI many things about WD Fard aka Wallie Ford.

In the 1960’s, Hazel Barton was listed as a wife of Wallie Ford in FBI reports (see pages 6–9). She was interviewed by Ed Montgomery too (See The San Francisco Examiner of Sun, Jul 28, 1963 ·Pages 1 and 21).

In 1977, on July-1, Hazel Barton died (aged 83) in Long Beach, Los Angeles County, California, USA (See Batey, Anton, and Kevin Morris. W.D. Fard’s First Footsteps in America: The Trail in Oregon.
