Intro
2:106 (2:107 in the Qadiani Quran and 16:101 (16:02 in the Qadiani Quran) are the two “verses of abrogation” contained in the Quran. — Qur’an 2:106, When We substitute one revelation for (another) revelation, – and Allah knows best what He reveals (in stages),– they say, “Thou art but a forger”: but most of them understand not. Chapter 16 was revealed before Hijra and Chapter 2 right after Hijra. Check out my essay on MGA and how he supported abrogation.

In Sep-2025 (3:39:55), Bro Imtiaz explained how MGA alleged that Allah “Manuskhed” the “Jalalee-Color” (referring to Jihad with the sword) and wanted to show the “Jamalee-Color” (just preaching and etc, no conflict) of Jihad. MGA argued that the name Ahmad is the manifestation of Jamal, and—in contrast to this—the name Muhammad (saw) is the manifestation of Jalal (See pages 151-152). MGA then claims that Ismuhu Ahmad is via “Jamalee-Color” (just preaching and etc, no conflict) and this is MGA.

In 1903, (Al-Badr, Volume 2, number 7, number 6/3/1903, p. 50), MGA alleged that he forgets his wahi and gets new wahi, and he quoted 2:106.

Many quotes are given from 1904 to 1907 in the below.

It seems that towards the end of MGA’s life (May-1908), MGA was arguing that his famous doomsday Earthquake prophecy had been averted via 2:106, and further, MGA’s God issues an order in the morning and has the full authority to change it at night (Via Malfuzat-10, online English edition, page 473).

After MGA died, his son, the 2nd Qadiani-Khalifa abrogated (See Haqiqatun Nubuwwat, 1915) all of the writings by MGA on prophethood before 1901.

Thanks to Hani Tahir, we have obtained some interesting references which link MGA to the concept of abrogation. At a minimum…MGA would forget his own revelations…and he would say that he would get “new ones” in their place.

MGA writes that anyone who believes in Abrogation in the Quran of any sort is not a Muslim.  MGA thus declared 99% of the Muslims in the world as Kafirs (See also https://www.alislam.org/library/books/Selected-Writings-Promised-Messiah.pdf, pages 61-62).

The quote
Izala e Auham: Roohani Khaza’in Vol. 3:, p. 170, via See also https://www.alislam.org/library/books/Selected-Writings-Promised-Messiah.pdf, pages 61-62.

“””Gist of our faith is:  La Ilaha Illallah Muhammadur Rasulullah. (There is no god but Allah, Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.)

Our belief, which we hold in this life here on earth and to which we will continue to adhere firmly till the time that we pass on to the next world, is that our spiritual leader and master, Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be on him, is the Seal of the Prophets and the Best of the Messengers. At his hands religion has been perfected and blessing of Allah has been consummated which lead man to the right path and further on to God Himself. We hold this positive belief with absolute certainty that the Holy Quran is the seal of all Divine books and not an iota can be added to or subtracted from its prescribed teachings, inhibitions, commands and injunctions. There will be no revelation or word from God which may amend or abrogate or change or alter any of the injunctions of the Holy Quran. If anyone subscribes to such views, in our opinion, he ceases to belong to the body of believers and becomes an infidel thereby.

“Is it conceivable that the commands of God Almighty are immature, unfixed, and full of contradictions to this extent? So that he imposes fifty prayers first …… then he breaks his promise many times and abrogates the verses of the Holy Qur’an over and over again, without an abrogating verse coming down according to the verse: “ (2:106)…but we bring (in place) one better or the like thereof..” (Removal of Suspicions, Izalat Alawham).

—Ludhiana Debate (Arabic), page 115. Mirza said: (The Noble Qur’an says: “The verse 2:106  مَا نَنْسَخْ مِنْ آَيَةٍ أَوْ نُنْسِهَا نَأْتِ بِخَيْرٍ مِنْهَا أَوْ مِثْلِهَا” [2:106]
Whenever We abrogate a verse or cause it to be forgotten, We bring one better than it or one equal to it. Do you not know that Allah is powerful over everything?  The Qur’an said in this verse very clearly that it is not possible to abrogate a verse except with a verse only. This is why, He promised that there must be revealed a verse instead of the abrogated verse ).

“يقول القرآن الكريم: {مَا نَنْسَخْ مِنْ آَيَةٍ أَوْ نُنْسِهَا نَأْتِ بِخَيْرٍ مِنْهَا أَوْ مِثْلِهَا}. فقد قال القرآن في هذه الآية بوضوح تام بأنه لا يمكن نسخ آية إلا بآية فقط. لذا وعد أنه لا بد أن تنـزل آية مكانَ الآية المنسوخة”.

The following page in full is about denying the abrogation of the quran by the Hadith. The yellow is a confirmation of the abrogation of one Quran verse with another verse.

“Every sane person can understand that abrogation never affects historical events, news, and the like, otherwise this necessitates that God is Lying (and this implies that rulings are subject to abrogation). Ludhiana Debate

“”””Having written this much, I went to sleep and saw in my dream that Maulavi Hakim Nur-ud-Din was reclining and a child of his own was playing in his lap. That child had a good complexion, was handsome and had large eyes. I said to Maulavi [Nur-ud-Din]: God has bestowed on you in
place of Muhammad Ahmad, a son, who, in his complexion, his features and his strength, is much better than Muhammad Ahmad, and I thought to myself that this child must be from another wife for the first child was weak and looked ill and only half alive, whereas this one is strong and has a good complexion. Then the following verse [al-Baqarah, 2:107] passed through my mind; I do
not recall having recited it:

[Arabic] Whatever Sign We abrogate or cause to be forgotten, We bring one better than that or one like thereof. Know you not that Allah has the power to do all that He wills? [Publishers]

I realised that this is the reply of God Almighty to that enemy of the faith [Sa‘dullah of Ludhiana] for he has attacked Islam by making himself a supporter of the Christians and that attack is unwarranted and full of bad faith….I also noticed that the child I saw in my dream had pustules on his body and someone said: Its remedy is turmeric and one other thing. [Allah knows best].

“”””11 November 1904
A note was presented from someone that he is a maulawi and his son has died, and he has developed doubts concerning the existence of God and is desirous of finding a way to reform himself. The Promised Messiah as said:

May Allah the Exalted remove the restlessness of the heart. Look, if there are two children before a person, one a stranger’s and the other his own beloved, would he give up the love for his child for the sake of the stranger’s child? No, not at all. So, when a person is called a Muslim, it means he belongs entirely to God and would never show disloyalty to Him under any
circumstances.

Then God Almighty has said concerning one’s progeny:

–64:15
–64:14

That wealth and children are your enemies. Remain afraid of them, because if they live on, they may become disobedient, apostate, wicked, thieves, or robbers; and if they die, this
becomes a trial in itself. Therefore, they are a source of mischief and trial in either case. However, when a believer has a relationship with God, he is happy and it does not matter to him if his child dies, since Allah the Exalted has commanded:

–2:106 (2:107 in the Qadiani Quran)

Look! Twelve children of the Holy Prophet sas died. Faith is actually that in which there is no equivocation, and one possessing such faith is loved by God very much. But, yes, if a child is more beloved than God, then I cannot understand how such a person can claim faith in God. And why does he make such a claim? We cannot know what our children will be like. Will
they be righteous or evil?

Nor are we beholden to them for their favours, whereas God has bestowed millions upon millions of blessings upon us. So, the person who severs his relationship with God to establish a relationship with his children is highly unjust. Yes, indeed along with the rights of God, take care of the rights of people. If you have complete faith in God, then your belief should be:

وست􀆬یک􀆶ن􀆱 ہر چہ از دوست می رسد

[Whatever treatment a friend metes out is acceptable.]

And Satan does not even come close to such a believer. He only comes where he gets even the slightest space to enter. Blessings descend when God is put first. If you deal with every friend of yours through false promises, telling lies, and breaking commitments even in the most trivial of affairs, he will never respect you, but God is Rabbul-‘Alamin [the Lord of all the Worlds], Ahkamul-Hakimin [the Best of Judges], and Rabbul-‘Izzat [the Lord of Honour].

–2:155 (2:156 in the Qadiani Quran)

Here, the term ثَََثَمَََمَرٰٰٰرٰت [thamarat—fruits] refers to children; they are a trial from God, and this is indeed a test for man. Nonetheless, these things and perfect faith are attained through taubah [repentance] and istighfar [seeking forgiveness], so engage in this abundantly. And then recite this:

–7:23 (7:24 in the Qadiani Quran)

And recite it in abundance. God Almighty will grant something better in recompense. He who does not leave the threshold of God is forgiven, even if he is a sinner. Indeed, severing the bond with God is a bad thing and a deadly poison. So, do taubah and istighfar and continue to supplicate in Prayers. May Allah the Exalted be your Provider. And peace be on you.

The Jew—Muslims believe in Qiyamah [the Resurrection]. What are the signs that lead them to believe in it?

The Promised Messiah—Man’s own body compels him to believe in hashr nashr [resurrection and raising the dead to a new life] because it is undergoing hashr nashr at every moment
to the extent that in three years, this body no longer remains and is replaced by a new one. This is Qiyamah. Aside from this, it is not necessary for one to comprehend every [Islamic] tenet
through reason alone. Rather, man is obligated to believe that Allah Almighty exists with His actions and attributes, and among His attributes are: يَخْلُقُيَخْلُقُ مَامَا يَيَََشَشَََآآءُءُُُ 1 and عَلٰىعَلٰى كُلِّكُلِّ شَيْءٍشَيْءٍ قَدِيْرٌقَدِيْرٌ2  (portions of 2:106) Then what doubt can there be in believing that Qiyamah will take place, particularly in the case that we have and observe its proof even in this life? Someone asked about the expected earthquake. MGA said:

Read the book, Haqiqatul-Wahi (p. 342, 2018 English edition) for Allah has abrogated some in its enforcement, as He said:

[God grants them respite till a specified term.](See Quran, 13:39, 13:40 in the Qadiani Quran)

Our God is the Omnipotent. He has full authority: is our belief. He is not like a fortune teller. He issues an order in the morning and has the full authority to change it at night. The verse: مَامَا نَنْسَخْنَنْسَخْ مِنْمِنْ اٰيَةٍاٰيَةٍ (2:106, 2:107 in the Qadiani Quran) bears witness to it. After all, sadaqah [almsgiving] and istighfar [seeking forgiveness] do mean something. It is the unanimous consensus of all noble Prophets that sadaqah and istighfar ward off calamities. What is a calamity? It is an adverse painful event that has been decreed through the will of God Almighty. Now, when a Prophet informs of such a calamity, it becomes a prophecy, but Allah the Exalted is the Most Merciful of all who show mercy. He turns with His mercy towards those who supplicate with humility. Therefore, I do not believe that prophecies that contain a warning are irrevocable. On the contrary, they can be averted.

“”You see, where I have mentioned the earthquake, I have also drawn attention towards repentance, seeking forgiveness, supplications with humility, and almsgiving which implies that this grave calamity can be averted. Alas! People have advanced in my enmity to such an extent that they have even forgotten the principles of Islam. They read (8:33, 8:34 in the Qadiani Quran) and still criticize me. May Allah guide them”””.

“The Promised Messiahas came and told us that the Quran must be followed to the letter – from beginning to end; from the ‘b’ of bismillah to the ‘s’ of ‘al-nas’. The Holy Quran is a standing instruction for us all and it must be followed till the Day of Judgement. I vividly remember Huzooras saying, ‘If someone believes that there is a chance that certain verses of the Quran have been abrogated, then what need is there for such a person to reflect and ponder over the meanings of the Holy Quran and try to act upon them? Such a one would say, “If there are such verses in here that are abrogated, then why waste my time by trying to fathom them? It is possible that the verse I reflect on may eventually turn out to be abrogated.” But whoever says that the entirety of its text is pure from abrogation and every iota must be obeyed, they will try to understand it and in this manner the Quran will become a means of enhancing his awareness.’” (Tafsir-e-Kabir, Vol. 2, p. 97).

There is the matter of whether there is Nasakh (abrogation) in the Holy Qur’an or not. About this, my understanding of it is such that I will say that up to now I have not seen any verse that is abrogated and yet remains within the Holy Qur’an. Neither the Holy Prophet(sa), nor Abu Bakar(ra) or Umar(ra) ever stated anything that supports the idea that such verses are part of the Holy Qur’an.
