Mawahibur-Rahman (Bounty of God) is an Arabic only book written in late 1902 and published on January 15th of 1903 by Mirza Ghulam Ahmad and his team of writers (See Hidden Treasures). It is about 144 pages and was published from Qadian via the Diya’ul-Islam Press. Quotations from this book appeared in the Jan-Feb-March edition of the 1923 ROR. This book could also be spelled as Mawahib-ur-Rahman. In 2023, it was fully translated into english by the Qadiani’s. Maulvi Sanaullah‘s visit to Qadian and his engagement with MGA is documented in this book. Syed Muhammad Hussain Batalvi is also mentioned as well as his review of the Barahin in the 1880‘s. Karam Din is also mentioned in this book. Zatalli is also mentioned herein. The Marham-i-Eisa is also mentioned.

In the 1901-1902 era, the editor of an Egyptian Journal, al-Liwa’, Mustafa Kamal Pasha (died in 1908), criticized the action of MGA in directing his followers not to get themselves vaccinated against the plague. The paper argued that such a course of action was against the teachings of the Holy Quran, which says: “And cast not yourselves into ruin with your own hands” (Al-Baqarah, verse 196).

This book also discusses the famous defamation case of Maulavi Karam Din vs. MGA.

In this book, MGA and his team of writers seem to discuss the miraculous birth of Eisa (as) and the merits therein. Noorudin had contradicted MGA as he wrote in his biography that it is not mandatory to believe that Esa (as) didn’t have a father. MGA also says that Eisa (as) had no children and nor did Yahya (as).

Zafrullah Khan tells us in his biographical book on Noorudin as follows:

“”The birth of Jesus (as) without a father had been a somewhat controversial question. Maulawi Nur-ud- Din had held the view that Jesus had a father. The Promised Messiah (as), in his book Mawahibur Rahman, announced that it was part of his doctrine that Jesus (as)
had been born without a father. On reading this Maulawi Sahib discarded his view and fell into line with the view propounded by the Promised Messiah (as). He frankly confessed this change of view in his book Nur-ud-Din.”””(see “hazratmaulvinoorudeen” by Muhammad Zafrullah Khan, 2nd edition, published in 2006, page 100).

“And this is also a part of our belief that the birth of Jesus took place against the normal laws”.

“Either we believe that Jesus was born on the decree of God, such is the way of Allah, He creates what He pleases, When He decrees a thing He says to it, ‘To be,’ and it is. Or, God forbid, his birth was illegitimate.”

“Subsequently, the plague epidemic widely spread in every class of the country and people began to fall like locusts. This disease preyed on them like a furious lion or a wild wolf that attacks a herd of sheep. Countless houses were rendered desolate. Death pounced upon the populace of the country. The world was shaken to its core and the catastrophes befell upon hard and tender [surfaces] of the earth. This disease left no place and in fact, it reached the frontiers of this country. It ruined the villages and the cities located on the boundaries of the country and reached every person.

“It did not leave any well-dressed [wealthy] or tattered-cloaked [poor] person. It entered every home, except for the one safeguarded by Allah the Almighty. Consequently, flocks of armies presented themselves before the table of plague and they were served with the food of that table, which was death. They came as guests in the abode of this epidemic and they were presented with the goblet of death.

“In short, the outbreak of plague is affixed to this country like the one in debt or like the dog of ashab-e-kahf [people of the catacombs] that remained attached to them; I do not believe that it will end in a matter of a few years. It is said that the span of this catastrophe is 70 years.

“Certainly, it is that fire which has been mentioned in the sayings of Khatamun-Nabiyyin [Seal of all the Prophets – the Holy Prophet Muhammadsa] and as Rabb-ul-Alamin [Lord of all the worlds] has pointed out in the Holy Quran as well. As Khair-ul-Rusul [the Best of Prophets] Hazrat Muhammadsa has already stated that it emerged from the east and it would soon engulf the population of the earth. Likewise, it has been mentioned in the earlier scriptures as well. Hence, wait until you start believing, however, do not ask questions about it as it is very difficult and the torment of God is very huge.

“Everywhere is tumult and cries for help. It is not a disease but a fire of hell. It is that earthly germ which speaks to the people and they are injured from it. Its bite has become very violent. It attacks people and kills them instantaneously because they do not believe in the signs of Allah the Almighty as it is stated by Allah the Almighty:

وَاِنۡ مِّنۡ قَرۡیَۃٍ اِلَّا نَحۡنُ مُھْلِکُوۡھَا قَبۡلَ یَوۡمِ الۡقِیٰمَۃِ اَوۡمُعَذِّبُوۡھَا عَذَابًا شَدِیۡدًا

[‘There is not a township but We shall destroy it before the Day of Resurrection, or punish it with a severe punishment’ (Surah Bani Israil, Ch.17: V.59)]. Likewise, you witness [these days]. This is due to the fact that people do not turn to righteousness. They spread transgression on God’s earth and they fear not. They increase in lewdness and sin, and they do not stop. They retreat on their heels when they are told to listen to what Allah has revealed to them. Hence, Allah punished them with this torment of His, so that they may return.”
Mawahibur-Rahman, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol 19, p. 295

Mawahibur-Rahman   :  “(مواهب الرحمن، ص 60-61)” denying that jesus-as had any child:

”The fact that Jesus had no father and NO child is a proof of what has been conclusively stated … and the birth of Yahya without any touch from the human powers, so was the birth of Jesus without the father and their death without leaving the heirs is a sign of this incident”.
Mawahib al-Rahman, pp. 70-72

“One of the doctrines we hold is that Jesus Christ and John the Baptist were both born miraculously . . . And the secret in creating Jesus and John in this manner was the manifestation of a great sign . . . And the first thing He [God] did to bring this about was the creation of Jesus without a father through the manifestation of Divine power only.”

“””Revelation (Arabic): All praise belongs to Allah Who has bestowed upon me in my old age four sons and has thus fulfilled His promise…[and] has given me the good news of a fifth one—who was destined to be born as a grandson in addition to these four—that he would certainly be born at some time.”””
