Intro
Ahmadiyya sources allege that Mian Khair ud Din Sekhwani converted to Ahmadiyya on 23 September 1889. Other Ahmadiyya sources allege that the three brothers took oath of allegiance on the same day, 23 November-1889, at the hand of MGA. Two of his brothers also converted, Jamal ud Din Sekhwani (see Dard, page 845) and Imam ud Din Sekhwani (see Dard, page 845). Mian Khair-ud-Din (famous list of 313 companions in 1896, see Dard, page 845) comes from a family of brothers who were early converts to Ahmadiyya from Sekhwan. Sekhwan was a village just 1/2 northwest of Qadian. However, their father, Muhammad Siddiq Sekhwani (See Dard, page 856) was not an Ahmadi in 1896 but seems to have joined later and is mentioned as a donor for the proposed Minaret-ul-Masih (the minaret of the Messiah) in 1901. Their mother Sharf Bibi and their father Muhammad Siddiq Sekhwani also accepted Ahmadiyyat as well as their sister Amir Bibi (more commonly known as Mai Kako). The latter remained in household service of MGA and his family. They were ethnically Kashmiri and that’s why they have the fore-title Khwaja and the surtitle Wyne (“n” is silent) around their names, but they lived in Punjab, India (See also Where did Jesus die?).
In 1897, the entire family was mentioned as “wool weavers” and as having donated 1 rupee each. Their names are listed as attendees at the public meeting to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee in Qadian, District Gurdaspur, with our Imam the Promised Messiah and Imam Mahdi. With contribution or without, and the names of the absentees who contributed. From June 20, 1897 to June 22, 1897 (see “A Gift for the Queen” aka “Tohfa-e-Qaisariyyah” see pages 59-69). Also in 1897, the entire family was mentioned as donor’s for the guest house and well at Qadian (see “Siraj-e-Munir”, pages 156-157).
A son of Mian Khair ud Din who became famous in the jamaat is Maulana Qamar-ud-Din. He was appointed the first president (Sadr) of Majlis Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya at its inception in 1938. His son Rashid-ud-Din Qamar played vital role in establishing Majlis Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya in the UK and was its pioneering Qaid alongside serving in many other capacities in the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat UK.
The sons of Imam-ud-Din Sekhwani (see Dard, page 845) were Jalal ud Din Shams, who became a famous global Maulvi of the Ahmadiyya Movement. Brother of Jala ud Din Shams are Dr. Salah ud Din Shams who was the first ever President of the Zion jamaat in the 1980’s. Another one is Munir ud Din Shams, he is currently working as a Qadiani-Ahmadi missionary in the UK and is a major editor of MGA’s books into English. He is also Additional Wakilut-Tasnif. Another is Falah ud Din Shams, who seems to live in the USA and has been the National Vice President of the entire USA-Jamaat, he was previously a President from their Chicago chapter. In 2024, he is listed as a “Director” for the Ahmadiyya Movement in Islam, USA, Inc.
Allegedly, the family of Muhammad Siddiq Sekhwani were known to be exceptionally poor. However, they strived so much financially that even though their combined amounts were still pretty meagre, MGA gave them special attention. For example, for the construction of the white Minaret-ul-Masih (the minaret of the Messiah), which symbolized the mission of MGA and the minaret mentioned in the hadith prophecies, there was a special call for construction funds. A minimum contribution of 100 rupees entitled the person’s name to be commemorated near the foundation. The three Sekhwani brothers, as they were called, asked for a special exception if they all three could combine their contribution to add up to 100 rupees. This was still a great financial sacrifice for their families and MGA accepted their request and included their names along the list of those who made the 100-rupee contributions.
Ahmadiyya sources allege that Mian Khairuddin Sekhwani passed away in Jhelum at the age of 80.

His sister
His sister Amir Bibi (more commonly known as Mai Kako). The latter remained in household service of the Promised Messiah and his family. There is a story in SM about her. Once one of the daughters or may be one of the wives of the sons, of Mirza threw a fruit’s coat upon Mai Kaako. Mai Kaako starts abusing and cursing to them. MGA heard this and admonished Mai Kaako in a harsh way as he said it was a great insult for him and his family.

Then, in 1966, he and his family moved to the UK, where they lived close to the Fazl Mosque. They’ve been here for a very long time, so everyone is acquainted with them. During the time of Hazrat Khalifatul Masih IV, he had the opportunity for a long time to call the Adhan [call to prayer] at the Fazl Mosque for Friday prayers. He also had the opportunity to serve as the Local President of Fazl Mosque and Putney. After retiring in 1995, he dedicated his life and he had been voluntarily serving, first in Wakalat-e-Tabshir and then in the Office of the Private Secretary here in the UK. Even the day before his demise, he was working in the office until the Zuhr prayer after which he returned home. He was regular in offering the five daily prayers, quiet in nature, compassionate, sociable, virtuous, sincere, and loyal. He was a musi. He is survived by his wife, two sons and two daughters, along with many grandchildren. He was also the maternal uncle of Amir Sahib UK. May Allah the Almighty grant him forgiveness and mercy and elevate his station. This funeral will be offered here in praesentia, God-willing.

No doubt they are very suitable. They are sincere. They always serve beyond their capacity. All three brothers have the same characteristics. I do not know which one of them excels the

(1456) Mian khairuddin Sekhwani stated to me through his writing that once Hazrat sahib (Mirza Ghulam) said that the wealth of prostitute (KANJRI KA MAAL) be spent for religious Jihad. Because when enemy is attacking on Islam and Ahle Islam, (Forces of Islam) have no money for purchase of Arms and ammunition except the wealth of Prostitute, will you then waste your time and say we don’t take this money of prostitute, whereas everything (Kanjri ka maal) is owned by Allah and all such things become pure when these are returned back to Allah.
