Eclipses during Ramadan by David L. McNaughton (1996)

Ahmadi’s went around the world and bragged about the 2 eclipses that were shown for MGA from 1894–1996.  Finally, an independent researcher (David McNaughton) came along and destroyed the Ahmadiyya position.  The Muslims of India and the World never touched this topic in Ahmadiyya, however, after 1996, the cat was out of the bag.

Eclipses during Ramadan

by David L. McNaughton

In “Hamdard Islamicus” (Karachi, Pakistan), vol. XIX no. 1 (Spring 1996): pp. 81-86.

Characteristics of Solar Eclipses

The sight of a total eclipse of the sun is an awe-inspiring experience. Daylight quickly becomes near-darkness, and all birdsong ceases as those creatures are deceived into thinking that night has fallen.

However, only a small area of the globe enjoys the privilege of admiring the total phase of such an eclipse whenever one sweeps across our planet. Even so, astronomers can now predict accurately those places and their times – enabling many of them to go and witness such an event. Total solar eclipses provide by far the best opportunity to study the seething atmosphere in the sun’s outer atmosphere, so scientists are always present to take photographs and carry out spectrographic and other measurements.

A solar eclipse can occur only at New Moon, but not every New Moon produces a solar eclipse. That is because the plane containing the lunar orbit is inclined to the plane defined by Earth’s much larger orbit round the sun (called the “ecliptic” plane). Thus, at the instant of its birth a New Moon’s position in the celestial firmament is usually either above or below the sun: under those circumstances the sun cannot become eclipsed.

About twice every year, however, New Moon happens to take place just as the moon is passing through the ecliptic plane. That produces almost perfect alignment of the three celestial bodies, enabling the moon to hide the sun from some terrestrial observers. The moon’s umbra (full shadow) traces out a comparatively narrow path across Earth’s surface; people there see a total eclipse. At the same time, a much larger area of our globe falls within the moon’s penumbra (its partial shadow); observers there are close enough to the axis of alignment for the sun to appear partially covered.

Sometimes the umbra just misses the Earth, but a portion of our planet still lies within the penumbra – experiencing a partial eclipse. On rare occasions the umbra can just graze the Earth – but without the axis of the moon’s shadow-cone ever intersecting the surface of our planet: such eclipses are termed “total but non-central”.

If the lunar orbital plane remained pointing in the same direction, then solar eclipses would always occur near the same Gregorian date, year after year. However, the lunar orbital plane gradually swings round, completing a revolution every 18.6 years; inevitably that movement affects the dates of solar eclipses. The result is that the interval between them tends to be either six or (less commonly) five lunar months. That is why solar calendar dates of eclipses are often slightly earlier than ones experienced during the previous year.

Lunar Eclipses

To produce a lunar eclipse, Earth must lie between the sun and moon. Once again, alignment needs to be nearly exact, so (like a solar one) this sort of eclipse is possible only when the moon is on or near the ecliptic plane. This time it is Earth which is casting the shadow – sometimes over the entire lunar disc (total eclipse); on other occasions on just a portion of it (partial eclipse). A lunar eclipse can take place only at Full Moon, and may be observed from absolutely anywhere in Earth’s night-hemisphere.

About two weeks before or after a lunar eclipse, there is always some sort of solar one – because alignment on the first occasion means that there will still be sufficient alignment for the second. In fact, in rare instances it is even possible to have a small partial solar eclipse just prior to the beginning of an Islamic month, followed by a lunar one in mid-month, and then by another small partial solar eclipse near the end of the same month. (A “small” partial eclipse affects a very restricted area of Earth’s surface, with just a minute fraction of the solar disc appearing to be covered).

Preferred dates for Ramadan Eclipses

Every now and again, there is an eclipse during the Holy Month of Ramadan – either a lunar eclipse near the middle of the month or a solar one near the end. Islamic months cannot begin until a day or two after a sun-moon conjunction (to give time for the crescent to become visible), so it is not possible to experience a solar eclipse at the beginning of an Islamic month.

A detailed analysis of Ramadan eclipses reveals a surprising pattern: they seem to be restricted to certain dates in the Gregorian calendar. Every total lunar eclipse which has ever occurred during Ramadan, for example, has fallen within one of three short intervals: 22nd February to 13th March, 20th June to 11th July, or 16th October to 7th November (1), which together add up to less than 20 per cent. of the entire year. (To maintain continuity, dates recorded in the old Julian calendar prior to AD 1582 (or 1752) were converted to “extrapolated” Gregorian-style dates for this particular illustration). Thus, there has never been a Ramadan total lunar eclipse in December/January, nor April/May, nor in August/ September. (Eventually there will be, but not for many thousands of years) (2).

Dates of central solar eclipses occurring during Ramadan have ranged from 12th November to 25th December, or from 20th March to 26th April, or from 16th July to 22nd August (3): (as above, these are Gregorian dates). Here, it is appropriate to include annular as well as total eclipses provided they are “central” (i.e. lying on the lunar umbral axis). The only difference with annular eclipses is that they display a narrow ring of sunlight around the dark lunar disc – caused by the moon being slightly further away from us, or by the sun being closer to Earth than normal.

So why do Ramadan eclipses prefer certain dates? They appear to be tuned to a near-synchronisation between three and a half revolutions of the moon’s orbital plane – and the 65-year period during which the date of mid-Ramadan migrates twice round our solar calendar. The full explanation for the “date-clustering” is complicated, involving periodic readjustments caused by slow accumulation of the difference between the cycle-lengths in that near-synchronisation (4).

Double Eclipses during Ramadan

Sometimes a Ramadan will contain a solar and a lunar eclipse. That inevitably provokes comment, because of traditions that such a “double-eclipse” is a portent for some unusual event. Ithna’asheri Shi’ites, for example, believe that their Twelfth Imam will reappear after a Ramadan double-eclipse (although those two phenomena will supposedly take place in reverse order, with the solar one occurring in mid-month (5); that will require the moon to suddenly double its speed of movement after the onset of the Holy Month!)

In March/April 1894 (Ramadan 1311), Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (founder of the Ahmadiyya or Qadiani movement in Pakistan) interpreted a double-eclipse as a sign that he was a genuine modern-day prophet (6). The lunar eclipse during that particular month was only partial, although the solar one two weeks later was total in a few places in eastern Asia (7). However, there was nothing at all extraordinary about those two eclipses: every 22 or 23 Islamic years there is at least one Ramadan featuring a pair of eclipses two weeks apart (8) – one of which is usually partial; see Table 1.

Very much rarer is a Ramadan containing two total eclipses. Table 2 lists all such occasions since AH 1, as well as during the next 200 years (9); (its solar eclipses are all central, with annular ones also included).

It will be interesting to see whether the two total eclipses scheduled to occur during Ramadan 1424 (AD November 2003) – are cited to support a claim similar to that made by Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, or as proof of the significance of some extraordinary event.

Notes for Table 2

Central lunar eclipses are always total.
*The central solar eclipses listed above are total unless asterisked – in which case they are annular.
Dates apply to the instant of maximum eclipse.
Extrapolated Gregorian dates are given even on occasions when the old Julian calendar was in operation;
the corresponding Julian date is then shown below in brackets.

2. Eclipses may also be examined with computer software such as EclipseMaster, MoonTracker, SunTracker and AstroCalc; Zephyr Services, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. To help with the preparation of Tables 1 and 2, AstroCalc was modified to print out celestial positions of the Sun and Moon near each Ramadan (i.e. every 354.367 days). Occasions when the mid-Ramadan Full Moon or the Eid New Moon were close to the ecliptic plane could then be highlighted – demonstrating that this occurs every 22 or 23 Islamic years.

Letter to the Journal of the British Astronomical Association 105/4, 1995

(From Dr David L. McNaughton)

Recently I was asked to examine occurrences of all lunar eclipses during Ramadan since AD 622 (i.e. since the beginning of the Islamic era), and an unexpected pattern emerged. I am trying to put together a tentative explanation for the pattern, and would appreciate comments.

Every total lunar eclipse taking place during Ramadanhas been restricted to certain dates, comprising the three short intervals 22 February to 13 March, 20 June to 11 July and 16 October to 7 November. (To maintain continuity, dates recorded in the old Julian calendar prior to AD 1582 (or 1752) were converted to ‘extrapolated’ Gregorian-style dates for this particular illustration).

So why do Ramadan eclipses prefer certain dates? They appear to be tuned to a near-synchronisation between three and a half revolutions of the moon’s orbital plane – and the 65-year period during which the date of mid-Ramadan migrates twice round our solar calendar. (Is that close resonance purely accidental?)

Detailed eclipse calculations do actually reveal a very slow drift: e.g. after AD 3000 those Ramadan eclipses will tend to move into late March, late July and mid-November.

Ramadan total lunar eclipses may be grouped into three parallel series. Each such progression comprises events 65 years and 2 days apart (on average). That is of course virtually the same as 67 Islamic years (804 lunations). (Furthermore, this time-span is just two hours short of 872½ draconic months). The three parallel series are separated by phase differences of 21 or 22 years; at present they comprise March, July and (mostly) November eclipses respectively.

Within each progression, the two extra days every 65 years do cause a slow but steady date-shift which continues for a few centuries. However, that gradually moves the eclipses away from the lunar nodal points, so this date-shift cannot be maintained indefinitely. Eventually, the progression is disrupted by a ‘backward jump’, which occurs after two successive Ramadans witness a total lunar eclipse. The second member of that pair then takes over as the starting point of a new series of eclipses 65 years and 2 apart, but containing dates displaced 11 days earlier than those taking place in the first series. Thus, this readjustment process interferes with and retards the tendency for Ramadan eclipses to drift.

The Ahmadiyya fraud on Eclipses and the Mahdi

This entire entry was taken from here:

Based on a Hadith they attribute to the Messenger of Allah(SAW), the Qadiani (Ahmadi) leadership asserts that the advent of lunar and solar eclipses during the Islamic month of Ramadhan of 1894 is the clear proof that Mirza Ghulam Ahmad Qadiani was the foretold Imam Mahdi!  Mirza Ghulam himself had written:

“One Hadith of Dar-e-Qatni also proves that the Promised Mahdi will appear at the head of 14th Century; and that hadith is this ….translation of the whole hadith is:’There are two signs of our Mahdi; since the creation of earth and heaven this sign has not been revealed for any appointed and prophet and messenger; and those signs are that moon will eclipse in the first night of its fixed nights of eclipse and sun will get eclipsed in the middle of the fixed days for its eclipse, during the month of Ramadhan.’

…this hadith clearly fixes 14th Century.”  (Roohani Khazain, Vol. 17, P. 331)

However, the actual hadith recorded in Dar-e-Qatni clearly reads:

Narrated Amr son of Shamir, quoting Jabir, who quoted Mohammad bin ‘Ali:”For our Mahdi, two signs are given which never occurred in the past from the creation of the heavens and the earth. One is that a lunar eclipse will occur on the first night of Ramadhan and the second sign is that a solar eclipse will occur in the middle of Ramadhan and these signs had never happened from the creation of the heavens and the earth.” (Dar-e-Qatni, Vol. 1, P. 188)

With regard to this hadith, we need to make the following observations:

  1. This hadith is not a saying of hazrat Muhammad(SAW), as the Qadiani leadership has tried to portray, but it is a saying attributed to an individual by the name of Mohammed bin ‘Ali. Thus, once more the falsehood of Qadiani leadership becomes apparent. According to an authentic hadith of hazrat Muhammad(SAW):

Ascribing false things to me is not like ascribing false things to anyone else. Whosoever tells a lie against me intentionally then surely let him occupy his seat in Hell-Fire.
(Hadith Sahih Bukhari, Volume 2, Book 23, Number 378)

  2. This hadith attributed to Mohammad bin ‘Ali has been rejected by scholars of hadith for centuries. In fact, the first narrator of this hadith is Amr bin Shamir who is a known narrator of weak and fabricated Ahadith.  Allamah Shamsuddin Dhahbi(RA)who was an expert of the Funn-e-Rijaal (the art of Men Narrators) has written:

“According to its authenticity, this saying attributed to Imam Baqir is extremely weak, outcast, and rejected. Looking at the chain of narration, the first narrator is Amr bin Shamir who has been labeled (in Meezanul-E’tidaal, P. 262) as the big liar, a narrator of weak and fabricated Ahadith, a non-believer of Hadith, a person who used abusive words for the companions of the Messenger(SAW) and the Sahabah(RA); and according to Ilm-ul-Hadith, his narration is not written as Hadith.”

Amr bin Shamir had claimed to have heard this hadith from a person by the name of Jabir. Not only we can not trust this assertion of a known liar, but also Amr failed to disclose — perhaps purposely — which one of the many Jabirs he was referring to in this quote. Nevertheless, among the individuals by that name, we find Jabir Ja’fi, who was described by Imam Abu-Hanifah(RA):

“Among the liars that I met, no one was bigger liar than Jabir Ja’fi.”

Amr bin Shamir finally claims that this hadith was originally narrated by Mohammad bin ‘Ali.  Qadianis assert that the Mohammad bin ‘Ali mentioned must have been Imam Baqir. However, we have had several narrators with this name and there is no proof or reason to believe that the person Amr intended was Imam Baqir.   Indeed, since it was the habit of Amr bin Shamir to narrate weak and fabricated Ahadith and attribute them to well known, truthful, and trustworthy narrators, we are obligated to be very doubtful of this hadith.

  3. Even if, for the sake of discussion, we were to accept this hadith at face value, it would only serve to expose the falsehood of Mirza Ghulam and the Qadiani propaganda machine. This saying clearly states that the lunar eclipse will happen in the beginning of the month of Ramadhan and the solar eclipse will occur in the middle of the month. However, this event is astronomically impossible and would be indeed miraculous if occurred. The lunar and solar eclipses Qadianis advance as the proof of their claim occurred on the 13th and 28th day of Ramadhan respectively!  It is then obvious that Mirza Ghulam, as was his habit, purposely changed the quote (by adding  the words “of its fixed nights“) and twisted the true meaning of the hadith to lend appearance of legitimacy to his false claim. Furthermore, the hadith clearly states that this event has never occurred in the history, while the combination of eclipses on 13th and 28th of Ramadhan have occurred thousands of times throughout history.

Obviously, Qadiani leadership’s complete reliance on an unauthentic and misinterpreted saying of a person by the name of Mohammad bin ‘Ali proves that they have nothing but deceit on their side.

The False Argument of Qadiani (Ahmadi) Leadership

Refuted by Muslim scholars and contradicted the by an extensive body of scientific evidence, Mirza Ghulam and the Qadiani (Ahmadi) leadership acknowledged that according to the divine laws the lunar eclipse always occurs on 13th, 14th or 15th of a lunar month, and solar eclipse always occurs on 27th, 28th, or 29th of a lunar month.  However, they advanced another baseless argument to misguide the uninformed.

They reasoned that by “first night of Ramadhan”, the hadith must have intended that first night a lunar eclipse could possibly occur (i.e. 13th); and by “middle of Ramadhan”, the hadith must have meant the middle night a solar eclipse could possibly occur (i.e. 28th)! Thus, they tried to justify the conclusion of their Sire, Mirza Ghulam, and claim that Mirza must have been Mahdi, since such an eclipse occurred during his life time!

With regard to this assertion, we need to make the following observations:

  1. It is the habit of the Qadiani leadership to use such foolish and feeble interpretations to try to misguide the gullible.  The words of the hadith (even though we have shown it to be an unreliable hadith not referred to our Prophet(SAW)) are quite clear:  The lunar eclipse should occur on the “first night of Ramadhan” and the solar eclipse in the “middle of Ramadhan” (e.g. 15th).  The hadith does not state the “first night from the nights of eclipses”, as Qadiani leadership would like everyone to believe.  As we have shown, this is an addition made to the hadith by Mirza Ghulam himself.
  2. This interpretation of Mirza Ghulam Qadiani and his associates is also shown to be absurd and false by the very hadith itself.  The hadith concludes by stating “these signs had never happened from the creation of the heavens and the earth.”  However, the combination of eclipses on the 13th and 28th of Ramadhan have occurred thousands of times throughout recorded history! As an example, we quote 45 years of eclipses in life time of Mirza Qadiani. In these 45 years, 3 times such combination of eclipses occurred on 13th and 28th (see book by Mr. Keith, “Use of the Globes” and another book, “Hadaiqun-Nujoom”). Both these books list eclipses from the year 1801CE to 1901CE. Out of those a list of 45 years is produced in a book, ‘Doosri Shadadat-e-Aasmani’ written by Sayyid Abu-Ahmad Rahmani which again confirms that these pair of eclipses have occurred three times alone during the 45 years in question! Further references on the accurate theories of Lunar Eclipses can be found in a commentary written by David McNaughton, a South African astronomer working in UAE, who is considered to be an authority on this subject. Accurate and detailed calculations, using Jean Meeus’s Algorithm, was performed in 1998 by Khalid Shaukat for the 3 pairs of eclipses mentioned before and produced in the following table:

Schedule of Relevant Eclipses in 45 Years of Mirza’s Life

    No. Eclipse Gregorian
    Islamic Date
    in India
Time of eclipse in India Description Remark
    1 Lunar July 13,
    1851 CE
    Ramadhan 13, 1267 AH Starts 11:21
    Max. 12:51
    Ends 14:22
Moon was below horizon in Qadian when eclipse occurred. Moon eclipse was not visible in India. Moreover, this happened before Miraz’s claim of Mahdi when he was 11 or 12 years old.
    Solar July 28,
    1851 CE
    Ramadhan 28, 1267 AH Starts 17:47
    Max. 20:04
    Ends 22:20
Eclipse was visible little before sunset in Qadian, sunset being at 19:31.
    2 Lunar March 21,
    1894 CE
    Ramadhan 13, 1311 AH Starts 18:58
    Max. 19:51
    Ends 20:44
Eclipse seen in Qadian After Sunset, which is the 14th of Ramadhan. This pair of eclipse actually goes against the Qadiani argument of 13th and 28th of Ramadhan!!! However, these eclipses were visible in other parts of the world and using this sign, Dr. Alexander Dowie claimed to be Messiah in the USA.
    Solar April 6,
    1894 CE
    Ramadhan 29, 1311 AH Starts 6:57
    Max. 9:24
    Ends 11:52
Eclipse was visible in the morning, sunrise in Qadian was at 6:11.
    3 Lunar March 11,
    1895 CE
    Ramadhan 13, 1312 AH Starts 7:25
    Max. 9:10
    Ends 10:54
Moon was below horizon in Qadian when eclipse occurred. Moon eclipse was not visible in Qadian.
    Solar March 26,
    1895 CE
    Ramadhan 28, 1312 AH Starts 14:21
    Max. 15:40
    Ends 17:00
Eclipse was visible in Qadian in the afternoon.

From the previous table, we can clearly see that this combination of eclipses has occurred at least more than once throughout the history.  Furthermore, please note that the pair of eclipses claimed by the Qadianis actually occurred in Qadian on the 14th and 28th of Ramadhan and not the 13th and 28th!  In either case, Qadiani argument is shown to be once more false.

As is their habit, the Qadiani (Ahmadi) leadership once more ignored clear evidence contrary to their faulty argument and resorted to further misrepresentation.  They claimed that the intent of the words “these signs had never happened from the creation of the heavens and the earth” was that these eclipses have never occurred while a claimant to being Mahdi or Messiah has been present! To support this argument and rejected the proof offered by Muslim scholars showing the feebleness of his arguments, Mirza Ghulam wrote:

“O Low Caste, Khabees, Enemy of Allah and Prophet! You have done this Jewish alteration in the (prophecy), so that this Grand Miracle of Holy Prophet(SAW) is hidden from this world …..your lie, O Worthless is exposed …… from which word did these stupid understood these meanings? O Morons! O Sightless! Disgrace to the Molviyat! …especially the head of the Dajjaleens, Abdul Haq Ghaznavi and his followers; Hundred thousand times shoes of curses may fall upon them. O Dirty Dajjal! Prophecy has been fulfilled but bigotry has blinded you.”
(Zamima Anjam-e-Atham, Roohani Khazain, Vol. 11, P. 330)”This has never happened and absolutely never happened, except in my time, since the beginning of universe till now, that lunar and solar eclipse had gathered in the month of Ramadhan in such a manner that some claimant of messengership or prophethood or muhaddathiyat (one who converse with God) had also been present.”
(Roohani Khazain, Vol. 9, P. 50)

“The meaning of prophecy is that this sign has not been to any other claimant, whether true or false. Only given to the Promised Mahdi. If these tyrant molvis (Muslim scholars) can present a similar occurrence of lunar and solar eclipse in the time of some other claimant then please do it; then I will no doubt become a liar.”
(Roohani Khazain, Vol. 11, P. 332)

“Combination of lunar and solar eclipse in Ramadhan has never taken place in the time of any Prophet or Messenger or muhaddith and since the birth of universe during the time of any claimant of messengership or prophethood or muhaddithiyat lunar and solar has never combined. Combination of Lunar and Solar eclipse and Mahdi is an unnatural phenomenon.”  (Roohani Khazain, Vol. 9, P. 84)

It is a sign of disbelief and hypocrisy of Qadiani leadership that they refute clear proofs and authentic hadiths of the holy Prophet(SAW) regarding Mahdi and insist upon their conjecture of an unauthentic saying attribute to Mohammad bin ‘Ali by a known liar! Certainly, no believer would require any further explanation to see the falsehood of the Qadiani claims. However, purely from an academic stand point, we offer the following observation:

  1. The prophecy of this unauthentic hadith is abundantly clear: the sign which has not occurred since the beginning of time is the specific combination of eclipses on the first and fifteenth day of Ramadhan. There is no mention whether this sign will occur before the birth, during the life, upon the claim, after the claim, or upon the death of the individual making the claim. Qadiani (Ahmadi) interpretation is simply without any merit.
  2. Even if, for the sake of discussion, we were to accept the Qadianis’ (Ahmadis) feeble interpretation, we still can show that Mirza Ghulam was not the only individual who based his claim on such a combination of eclipses.  Ample evidence for this stance is provided in the following books:
    • ‘Doosri Shadadat-e-Aasmani’ by Maulana Abu Ahmad
    • ‘Aimma-e-Talbis & Raees-e-Qadian’ by Maulana Abul Qasim Dilawari

Below, we have documented several such claimants.  Please do remember that Mirza Ghulam had stated that if such proof could be provided, then he would be shown to have been a liar.  Accurate and detailed calculations, using Jean Meeus’s Algorithm, was performed in 1998 by Khalid Shaukat for the following tables:

    No. Eclipse Gregorian
Name of the Claimant Claim and Comment
1 Lunar 07-11-0743 Rmz 14, 125 Saleh bin Tarif Burghwati Claimed Mahdihood and Prophethood and successfully ruled over his followers for 47 years. Later, he advocated his throne in favor of his son. (Aimma-e-Tilbees, Vol. 1, P. 192)
The combination of Eclipses matched exactly those of Mirza Ghulam: 14th and 28th of Ramadhan
    Solar 07-25-0743 Rmz 28, 125
2 Lunar 07-13-1851 Rmz 13, 1267 Mirza Ali Muhammad Bab Claimed to be Mahdi.  His movement is still alive and has split off into Babism and Bahaism.  They no longer claim to be Muslims.
(Double eclipses of 1829 and 1830 also could have been claimed for him; please note that Ali Muhammad died one month before the eclipse of 1851.
    Solar 07-28-1851 Rmz 28, 1267
    3 Lunar 11-15-1872 Rmz 13, 1289 Hussain Ali
Claimed to be the Promised One (Messiah) of every religion and a prophet.  His followers no longer claim to be Muslims.
(Double eclipses of 1829, 1830, 1851, and 1873 also could be claimed by him)
    Solar 11-30-1872 Rmz 28, 1289
4 Lunar 11-04-1873 Rmz 13, 1290 Mahdi Sudani Claimed to be Mahdi and began a successful movement to fight the British colonialists.
(Double eclipses of 1851, 1872 and 1895 also could be claimed by him).
Please note the specific solar eclipse used by him occurred on the 29th of Ramadhan.
    Solar 11-20-1873 Rmz 29, 1290
5 Lunar 03-21-1894 Rmz 13, 1311 Dr. Alexander Dowie, USA During the life time of Mirza Ghulam and appropriating the second double eclipse we previously mentioned, he claimed to be the Promised Messiah.
(Double eclipses of 1851, 1872, 1873, and 1895 also could be claimed by him – please note that he made the claim for the same eclipses as Mirza Ghulam)
    Solar 04-06-1894 Rmz 29, 1311

Once more, we can use Mirza Ghulam’s own statements to prove that he was a false claimant to being Mahdi, Messiah, and a Prophet.

For all those individuals, who after seeing all this proof, stubbornly insist on believing Mirza Ghulam’s claim to being Mahdi, we like to reproduce an earlier statement of Mirza:

“All those Hadiths in which the coming of Mahdi is foretold are not verifiable and cannot be relied upon.” (Haqeeqat-ul-Mahdi, Roohani Khazain, Vol. 14, P. 429)

We definitely disagree with Mirza Ghulam on this account and have in fact documented several authentic hadith of hazrat Muhammad(SAW) on this site [Read: Identification of the Prophesied Imam Mahdi].  However, isn’t this another sign of Mirza’s falsehood that he reversed course and attempted to take advantage of the eclipses which occurred during his life time by relying on deceitful alterations of an unauthentic Hadith?

Who is Chaudhry Mohammad Hussain (1891–1969)? The father of Dr. Abdus Salam #salamonnetflix

Chaudhry Mohammad Hussain was the father of the famous Dr. Abdus Salam (See the Al-Nahl magazine of 1997). He was born on 9-3-1891 at Jhang.  He had a total of 9 children. Most of this data is taken from an essay from his son, Chaudhry Abdul Hamid, which was published in the Al-Nahl of 1997.

At age 24, he enrolled himself at the Islamia College in Lahore in pursuit of a BA. However, he failed-out of this school soon thereafter. It is unknown how he paid for his classes and housing.

Per Ahmadiyya sources, he joined Ahmadiyya just 14 days before the death of Maulvi Noorudin (the Khalifa at the time).  This would be roughly February 28th, of 1914. He joined Ahmadiyya on a whim, he didn’t properly study it, Ahmadiyya sources claim that he saw a dream. At this time, he was already engaged to his first cousin from his maternal uncle (mother’s brother). This uncle was a solid Sunni-Muslim and publicly opposed Ahmadiyya. Ahmadiyya sources speak of his death in mockery, as they do with all of the opponents of Ahmadiyya, they are happy when we die and publicize those details, they do this in spite, since we archived the fact that MGA died of excessive diarrhea, which is a major sign of cholera.

Ahmadiyya sources tell us that immediately after becoming an Ahmadi, he mysteriously got a job with the British Government as a temporary teacher at Government High School in Jhang.

He married Saeeda Begum. She died while in child birth on 4-20-1922, their daughter was nevertheless born and named Masooda Begum.

ON may, 11th, he married again, his eldest daughter was roughly 2 years old at the time. He married Hajira Begum, she was the daughter of a companion of MGA, Hafiz Nabi Baksh. There are 3 Nabi Baksh’s that are mentioned in “The Life of Ahmad” by Dard. Ahmadiyya sources tell us that Hafiz Nabi Baksh had came into contact with MGA 10 years before his claims, which makes it roughly 1880-1881. He was a toilet attendant of MGA’s, just like Shaikh Hamid Ali. Ahmadiyya sources tell us that he spent many nights with MGA in the Baitul Fikr at Qadian. Only 3 people were allowed to sleep in the Baitul Fikr in those days, those three were MGA, Shaikh Hafiz Hamid Ali and Hafiz Nabi Baksh.

Dr. Abdus Salam is born.

He orders his entire household to serve Abdus Salam like a king.

He seems to have bought some farm land and thus qualified as a farmer, he then has his son, Abdus Salam apply for a scholarship at Cambridge, and it works, Salam gets the money for college.

He moves to Pakistan with the bulk of the Ahmadi’s in the Punjab. He seems to have settled in Multan, Pakistan, or he was already there before the partition and thus didn’t have to move. He became President of a local Ahmadiyya Jamaat.

He retires from Government service and moves back to Jhang, Pakistan.

1959, April
He moves to England to live with his eldest son, Dr. Abdus Salam.

At age 79, he serves the Jamaat of London, he was the secretary of Taleem and Tarbiyyat.

In December, he abruptly decides to leave England and moves back to Pakistan. On the way to Pakistan, he stops at Mecca and performs Umrah with his son and many members of his family.

He lives all over the country at his 6 son’s homes. Some lived in Sheikhapura, Multan and Karachi. It is unclear what jobs his sons did.

He dies on 4-7-1969 in Karachi. His body was transported to Qadian and buried in a special tract area of Bahishti Maqbara, it is called, “Qit’a-i-Mobashshshireen”, for which the Khalifa (Mirza Nasir Ahmad) has granted special permission in recognition of his services to Ahmadiyya.

TUHFA-E-GOLARHVIYYAH by Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (1902)

Per Ahmadiyya sources, MGA and his team began writing this book in 1900, as his beef with Pir Mehr Ali Shah exploded.  This book was in Urdu with some brief Arabic, it ran for 254 pages and was published from the Diya’ul-Islam Press, Qadian, the original edition had barely 40 words per page, this was how they extended the number of pages in those days.  In english the title translates as ‘Gift for Golarvi”.  Also spelled as Golarviah and Tohfa Golarviak.  In this book, MGA asserts that the Messiah was supposed to come exactly 1400 years after Muhammad (saw), he even quotes Nawab Siddiq Hassan Khan’s famous book and his assertions that the Mahdi was coming soon.  There is also an appendix, we aren’t sure when this appendix was added.  Tohfa-e-Golarwiyah comprises of RK, v. 17, pages 35-340, which includes the Appendix/Supplement on pages 35-86, pages 87-340 are the main book.  This book starts with an appendix, which is weird.  In the main body of the book Mirza Ghulam Ahmad argues, based on the Quraan and Hadeeth, that Jesus has died and that the Promised Messiah was to appear from among the Muslims. In the appendix he argues that he is the Promised Messiah.

(Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 17, Introduction to the book by Hadrat Jalal-ud-Din Shamsra, pp. 22-23).(See also Hidden Treasures).

“”””The Promised Messiahas giving details of this trickery said what was the point in writing the commentary after bai‘at. The Promised Messiahas further added by taking shelter in the shape of a debate Pir Sahib had sought a flight from writing a commentary of surah al-Fatihah and deceived the people in making them believe that he had accepted the challenge. The Promised Messiahas recalled the fact after holding a debate with ‘Abdullah Atham, he had made it very clear that he would never hold a debate with anyone on any subject.””””

“”””Translation: [Arabic] Glad tidings for you, My Ahmad. You are My purpose and are with Me.
I have planted for you My tree with My own hand. Your secret is My secret and you have a
good standing in My presence. I have chosen you for Myself.

You are to Me like My Unity and My Uniqueness, so the time has arrived when you
should be helped and be known among the people. O Ahmad, grace—that is verities and
points of wisdom—flow from your lips. You have been blessed, O Ahmad, and the blessing
that Allah has bestowed upon you was deserved by you.

The Gracious One has taught you the Qur’an—that is, informed you the meanings of the Qur’an that people had forgotten—so that you might warn a people whose ancestors passed away unheeded and so that the guilty ones might be faced with a conclusive argument from God. Tell them: I am not saying this on my own, but on the basis of revelation from God and I am the foremost of the believers in this age. Tell them: If you love Allah, then come and follow me, so that Allah may also love you. These people will plan and Allah will also plan and Allah is the Best of planners.

Allah is not such as to leave you till He has distinguished between the pure and the impure. My mercy covers you in the world and the hereafter. This day you are in a position of honour with Us. You are of those who are helped. You have a standing with Me of which the people have no knowledge. We have sent you in order to show mercy for the universe. O
Ahmad, enter Paradise along with your zauj. O Adam, enter Paradise along with your zauj.

This [zauj] means that everyone who associates with me, whether it is my wife or friend, will achieve salvation and will experience a heavenly life and will ultimately enter Paradise….

This station is by the Mercy of Allah, so that it may be a Sign for people. I determined to
establish a vicegerent on the earth and so I created this Adam. This Adam will establish the law and revive the faith.

This is a Messenger of Allah in the mantles of the Prophets—with good standing in the world and in the hereafter and one of those who have attained nearness to Allah.

I was a hidden treasure and I liked to be known. We shall make this servant of Ours a
Sign for the people and a mercy from Us and this was a matter determined since eternity.

O ‘Isa [Jesus], I shall cause you to die a natural death, that is your opponents will not
succeed in killing you, and shall raise you towards Me, that is will establish with clear
arguments and manifest Signs that you are near to Me, and shall purify you from the
charges of the disbelievers and shall place those from among the Muslims who follow you above your opponents till the Day of Judgment. A company of your followers will be from among the first and a company from among the last. They seek to frighten you of their mischief, but Allah will safeguard you Himself from the mischief of the enemies even if the people do not safeguard you and your Lord is Powerful.

Allah praises you from His Throne—that is, in contrast to the abuses of the people, Allah
praises you. We praise you and send down blessings on you. We shall suffice you against
those who mock you. They say: ‘This is a lie which he has fabricated; we have heard nothing like it from our ancestors.’ These ignorant ones do not realize that it is not hard for Allah to grant this station to someone. We have honoured some people above others. This status has been granted by the mercy of your Lord so that it should be a Sign for people. But these people have rejected the Signs of God unjustly and arrogantly while their hearts accept them.

Tell them: I have with me a special testimony from Allah; do you believe it not? Tell them again: I have with me a special testimony from Allah; do you submit or not. When they see a
Sign, they say: ‘This is just an ordinary thing; it has happened so since eternity.’ [And if they
see a Sign, they turn away and say, ‘A passing feat of magic.’] …Allah has decreed since eternity: I and My messengers will surely prevail—meaning that no matter how severe the opposition, people raised by God would never be vanquished. Allah is Supreme over His decree, but most people know it not. He it is Who has sent His Messenger with guidance and
the religion of truth, so that He might make it supreme over all religions. There is no changing the words of Allah. Those who have believed and have not adulterated their faith with any injustice are the ones who will be secure from every calamity and they are rightly guided.

Do not supplicate Me in the matter of those who have committed wrong; they are a people
drowned. They treat you with mockery and say: ‘Is this the one whom Allah has raised
up?’ They look at you but do not see you. Keep in mind when the one who will declare you a
disbeliever will plan against you… and will call upon his elder Haman to light the fire of
persecution saying: ‘Initiate the edict of apostasy yourself because people have greater regard for you and you can incite them all with your edict. Therefore you be the first to put a
stamp of approval, so that all ulema might be excited, and follow your stamp with their stamps. So that I should discover whether God is with this man or not though I consider him a liar.’ (Then he put the stamp.) Ruined is Abu Lahab and so are the two hands (one with which he held the edict and the other with which he put the stamp or wrote the edict). It did not behove him to intervene in this matter but in fear. Whatever pain will afflict you, it will be from Allah.

There will be a great trial after Haman puts a stamp on the edict of apostasy, then be steadfast as were steadfast the Prophets of high resolve…. This trial is from Allah, so that He
might love you with a great love. It is an everlasting love that will never be cut off. Your
recompense is with Allah. Your Lord will be pleased with you and will perfect your name.
There are many things that you like for yourselves but they are not good for you. And there are many things that you desire not, but they are good for you. Allah knows and you
know not.””””

[Urdu] Glory

I conceive that the word occurring in the last line means that the end would be glorious.
Then the revelation came:

[Urdu] The Powerful One has manifested His affair; Those who called [me] a disbeliever have been seized.

The meaning of this, which has been conveyed to me, is that soon such powerful Signs would be shown whereby those who called me a disbeliever would be charged themselves and will be seized securely and would have no way of escape left. This is a prophecy which every reader should remember.””””

[Urdu] Those who called [me] a disbeliever have been put down, All and every one of them have been seized.

This means that those who call me a disbeliever shall witness such Signs that they will have no excuse left. The revelation indicates that soon some bright Sign will be manifested which will be decisive.””””

At this point I recall a very clear vision which was as follows:

After Maghrib prayer, while I was fully awake, I was overtaken by a slight numbing of my faculties…and had a wonderful experience. First there was a sound of some people walking fast…and then five very dignified, holy, and handsome personages came into my vision. They were the Holy Prophet, may peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, Hadrat ‘Ali, Hasan, Husain and Fatimah al- Zahra’, may Allah be pleased with all of them. One of them, and I think it was Hadrat Fatimah, may Allah be pleased with her, out of great affection and kindness like a loving mother, placed this humble one’s head upon her thigh.

Then I was given a book concerning which I was told: ‘It is a commentary on the Holy Qur’an, which has been compiled by ‘Ali and now ‘Ali bestows it upon you.’ [Allah be praised for all this].

“””The treatment that my own people have accorded to me is well known and the hostility of other people towards me is natural. All of them have done their utmost to destroy me. They have contrived every project for doing me harm and have carried it to its limit. They have omitted nothing—prayers, declarations of the merit of slaying me, slander and defamation. Then which is the hand that safeguards me? Had I been a liar, God would Himself have furnished the means of my ruin and it would not have been necessary for people to devise methods for my ruin and be frustrated by God. Is it the sign of a liar that the Holy Qur’an should bear witness for him, heavenly signs should be manifested in his support, reason should uphold him, and those who desire his death should themselves die? I do not believe that after the age of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), any opponent of a godly or true person has suffered such clear defeat and disgrace as my enemies have on account of their opposition to me. When they attacked my honour they were themselves disgraced, and when they announced that I was a liar and I would die before them, they ended up dying before me.”””
[Tohfah-e-Golarhviyyah , Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 17, pp. 49-50](See also Essence of Islam, Vol. 3).

“””Fie on these people, for they do not honour that which God and His Messenger have said. Seventeen years of the century have passed, but their reformer is still hiding in some cave. Why are they so miserly towards me? Had God so willed, I would not have come. At times it comes
to my mind that I should supplicate Him to relieve me of this office and to appoint someone else in my place. But, at that very instant, it occurs to me that there can be no greater sin than to lack the courage to perform the service that God desires of me. The more I wish to retire, the more God Almighty pulls me forward. There is rarely a night during which I am not confronted with the words: “I am with thee and My heavenly hosts are with thee.”  The pure of heart will see God after death, but I swear by His countenance that I behold Him here and now. The world does not know me but He Who has sent me knows me. Those who seek my ruin are utterly mistaken and totally unfortunate. I am a tree planted by the Hand of the True Master. He who seeks to cut me down only desires to partake of the fate of Korah, Judas Iscariot and Abu Jahl. My eyes shed tears daily for someone to come forward and seek Judgement concerning me, according to the standard of prophethood, and then see on whose side God is; but coming forward for such a test is not the
business of every characterless person. There was one Ghulam Dastgir, one of the disbelieving hosts of the Punjab, who laid down his life in this attempt. It is now impossible for someone like him to come forward.

O Ye people, be sure that I am supported by the Hand that will be faithful to me till the end. If your men and your women, your young and your old, your small and your great, should all come together and supplicate for my ruin until their noses are rubbed out by their repeated prostration and their hands are numbed, even then God will not hear their supplication and will not desist till He has fulfilled His design. If not even a single person remains with me, God’s angels will be with me, and if you conceal the true testimony, stones will well nigh bear testimony in my support. Do not, therefore, wrong your souls. The false and the true have different countenances.  God does not leave any matter without judgement. I curse a life of falsehood and imposture, and the failure to serve the Creator for fear of His creatures. It is not possible for me to be lax in performing the service which God Almighty has appointed for me at its appropriate time, though the sun and the earth may join hands to trample me down. What is man but an insect and what is a human being but a lump of flesh? Can you then expect me to disobey the command of the Ever-Living and Self-
Subsisting One for the sake of an insect or a lump of flesh? In the end God has always judged between His commissioned ones and their opponents; He will do the same now. There is a season for the coming of God’s commissioned ones and a season for their departure. Be sure, therefore, that I have neither come out of season nor shall I depart out of season. Do not fight God. It is not within your power to destroy me.””””
[Tohfah-e-Golarhviyyah , Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 17, p. 53](See also Essence of Islam, Vol. 3).

“””How can God, Whose powerful hand supports heaven and earth and all that is between them, be frustrated by the designs of men? The day is near when He will announce His Judgement. It is a sign of the righteous that the end is always in their favour. God descends upon their hearts with His manifestations. How can that structure be demolished in which the true King has His abode? Revile me as much as you like, and devise whatever means of persecution you can think of, and make every plan for my ruin, but remember that God will soon prove that His hand is supreme. A foolish one thinks that he can win with his devices, but God rebukes him: ‘O accursed one, I shall frustrate all thy designs.’ Had God so willed, He would have bestowed sight upon these opposing
Maulavis and their followers, and they would have recognized the time and the season of the advent of God’s Messiah; but the prophecies of the Holy Qur’an and of the Hadith were bound to be fulfilled, which had predicted that the Promised Messiah would be persecuted by the Muslim divines who would denounce him as a disbeliever, condemn him to death, slander him and account him as being outside the pale of Islam and a destroyer of the faith.”””””

“””Those who do takfeer [deny Mirza Ghulam Ahmad or call/consider him a kaafir] and those who adopt the path of takzeeb [calling/considering Mirza Ghulam Ahmad a liar] are a perished nation; therefore, they are not worthy [of the status] that any person from my Jama`at perform namaaz behind them [i.e., with one of them leading the namaaz]. Can a living [person] perform namaaz behind a dead [person]? Hence do remember that, as God has informed me, it is forbidden to you and entirely forbidden, that you perform namaaz behind any ‘mukaffar’ [one who calls/considers Mirza Ghulam Ahmad a kaafir] and ‘mukazzab’ [one who calls/considers Mirza Ghulam Ahmad a liar] or ‘mutaraddad’ [one who is hesitant/wavering in accepting Mirza Ghulam Ahmad].”””

“”””[Divine revelation to the Promised Messiahas]

‘Such behaviour is not appropriate; ‘Abdul Karim, the leader of Muslims, should be dissuaded from it.’  [Promised Messiah’s footnote about the above revelation]:

…This revelation contains guidance for the whole Jama‘at, that they should treat their wives with kindness and courtesy. Your wives are not your slaves. In point of fact, marriage is a covenant between man and woman.  Try therefore not to break this covenant. God Almighty says in the Holy Qur’an:

‘Lead a life of kindness and equity with your wives.’

And it is mentioned in a Hadith:

‘The best among you is he who is best towards his wife.’

Therefore, be good to your wives both spiritually and physically. Keep praying for them and avoid divorce. A person who is hasty in divorce is sinful in the eyes of God. Do not hasten to break like a dirty vessel that which God has brought together.””””

“If the masses had no share whatsoever in the esoteric visions (batini kushuf), then, at the time of God’s sending His messengers, prophets and muhaddathin, they would have doubted that perhaps such persons were liars or that they took the help of astrology in some cases or they availed of some other device. Thus to remove such misgivings God has granted to the people in general a bit of what He has gifted to His messengers and prophets in this behalf.”

“The Holy Quran has declared the death of Jesus in the verses: ‘But when Thou didst cause me to die’ and the ‘messengers have already passed away before him’; similarly, in the verse: ‘This day have I perfected for you your religion’ and that ‘but he is the Messenger of Allah and the Seal of the Prophets,’ prophethood has been clearly brought to an end and it has been declared in clear words that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), is the Last of the Prophets (Khatam al-Anbiya) as has been stated in the verse: wa la-kin rasul-lul lahi wa khatam-an Nabiyeen (but he is the Messenger of Allah and the Seal of the Prophets). But those who bring Jesus back to this world believe that he would return with his prophethood and that Gabriel would be descending on him continuously for forty-five years with prophetic revelation (wahy-i nubuwwah). What is left then of the Finality of Prophethood (Khatm-i Nubuwwat} and the finality of prophetic revelation with such a belief? Rather, in that case, Jesus would be the last of the prophets (khatam al-anbiya).”

“Here the words messenger (rasul) and prophet (nabi) used for me in the divine revelation show that I am a rasul and nabi of God  the application of these words is by way of metaphor and simile. For it is definitely not inappropriate to apply the words rasul or nabi to a person who receives revelation direct from God and is definitely spoken to by God as in the case of prophets. On the other hand, this is an eloquent simile (isti’arah). That is why in Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih al-Muslim, the Gospel and the book of Daniel and books of other prophets also I have been called by the name of prophet. In the books of some of the prophets the word ‘angel’ has occurred for me as a simile. The prophet Daniel has given me the name of ‘Mickael’ in his book. And in Hebrew, this word literally means ‘like God’.”

“”””I have already proved the death of the Messiahas and his spiritual exaltation….Now, after the death of the Messiahas, the next question is, what are the authorities contained in the Qur’an and Ahadith and other sources from which it is established that the Promised Messiah will appear from among the Ummah? I will set out these authorities below, please read them with care. Hopefully, God the Compassionate will guide you.

One of the arguments which prove that the Messiah who was promised to appear in this Ummah would be from among the Muslims is this Hadith set out both in Bukhari and Muslim and

It means that he will be your Imam from among you.  Since this Hadith relates to Jesusas and it is he who has been described in this Hadith as Hakam and ‘Adal [Arbiter and Judge], it follows, therefore, that the word Imam also refers to him. It is true that the words ‘from among you’ were addressed to the Companions of the Holy Prophetsa, but we know that none of them claimed to be the Promised Messiah. This, therefore, shows that the words ‘from among you’ are meant for
someone who, in the knowledge of God Almighty, would be a substitute for the Companions and is the one referred to in the verse:

And among others from among them who have not yet joined them.—Al-Jumu‘ah, 62:4

This verse shows that he will be instructed through the spiritual power of the Holy Prophetsa, and will, in this sense, be one of the Companions. This verse is further explained by the Hadith:

Had faith ascended to the Pleiades, it would be brought down by a man from among the Persians.

Here the quality which was particularized in the Promised Messiah and Mahdi has been attributed to this man from Persia. This quality is to replenish the earth with justice after it has been filled with wrongdoing and has become empty of faith and the belief in the Unity of God. Thus this man is the Promised Messiah and Mahdi; and I am he.

Just as the prophesied eclipse of the sun and the moon in the month of Ramadan has not occurred during the time of any other person claiming to be Mahdi, likewise, during the thirteen hundred years that have elapsed since the time of the Holy Prophetsa, no one has claimed, on the basis of Divine revelation, to be ‘the Man of Persia’ about whom the Hadith says that he will bring faith down from heaven.

[Tohfah Golarhviyyah, p. 19, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 17, p. 117](See Also, the 2009 online english edition of Tadhkirah).

“””In this revelation the family of my wife and my family are both described together as having been provided by God and both have been treated as praiseworthy to about the same extent. This is a clear indication that as my in-laws are descendants of Hadrat Fatimah, in the same way there is a mix of descent from Hadrat Fatimah in my genealogy through some of my grandmothers. The precedence given to my wife’s family in the revelation over my family is to stress the fact that she is a direct descendant of Hadrat Fatimah and I have partly inherited her blood.”””””
[Tohfah-e-Golarhviyyah, Ruhani Khaza’in vol. 17, pp. 120-127].(See also Essence of Islam, Vol. 4).

“””One of the authorities that show that the Promised Messiah will appear from among the Muslims, is this verse of the Holy Qur’an:

Al-e-‘Imran, 3:111

This means: [O Muslims] You are the best of people who have been raised to benefit mankind and to repel the mischief of all Dajjals and of the Antichrist…

Every religious community is called upon to perform a particular service and has to contend against a particular enemy. It has been decreed that the Muslims would have to fight against the Antichrist. In a Hadith related by Nafe‘ bin ‘Utbah, which is set out in Muslim, it is stated that the Muslims will fight the Antichrist and will be victorious over him. The Companions of the Holy Prophetsa did not fight the Antichrist, but, according to the connotation of the verse ‘And from amongst others…’ the Promised Messiah and his Jama‘at were declared Companions of the Holy Prophetsa. It is also worth observing that in this Hadith, the Holy Prophetsa specified that his
Companions are those who would fight the Antichrist and he did not say that the Hebrew Messiah would fight him. The word ‘descent’ is used for respect and honour and indicates in this context that as in that age of turmoil, faith will ascend to the Pleiades and all spiritual leadership, learning, and instruction will fall into decline, the God of heaven will send someone whom He will have trained Himself without the intervention of earthly means, just as rain descends from heaven without the intervention of any human agency.

Another authority which indicates that the Promised Messiah will appear from among this same Ummah of Muhammadsa:

Al-Nur 24:56

which means, Allah has promised those people who believe and act righteously that He will make them successors in the earth as He made those successors who were before them.

The previous successors referred to in this verse are the successors from the people of Mosesas whom God had sent one after the other to establish and maintain the Law of Mosesas. No century was allowed to go by without the appearance of such a successor who came to revive the religion of Mosesas. The Holy Qur’an indicates that there were twelve such successors and
that the thirteenth was Jesusas, who was the Promised Messiah under the Mosaic law. In view of the resemblance which is established by the use of the word kama [just as] in this verse, it is essential that there should be a resemblance between the successors of Muhammadsa and the successors of Mosesas. To prove and firmly establish this resemblance, the Holy Qur’an mentions twelve Mosaic successors, each of whom was from the people of Mosesas and the thirteenth was Jesusas, who was the Khatam-ul-Ańbiya’ among the people of Mosesas, but did not actually belong to them. Then, pointing out the resemblance between the successors of the Mosaic dispensation and the successors of the Islamic dispensation, God clearly indicated that at the end of the Islamic dispensation there would be a Messiah and twelve successors in between so that figure of ‘fourteen’ should also correspond. Similarly, the Promised Messiah of the Islamic dispensation appeared at the beginning of the fourteenth century, just as the Promised Messiah of the Mosaic dispensation had appeared in the fourteenth century of the Mosaic dispensation. Thus, the distance of the two Messiahs from the Founders of their respective religions is the same….

If the second Messiah who was to come was to be the same Jesusas, this would contradict the Holy Qur’an, inasmuch as the Qur’an declares the Successors of the two dispensations to be distinct personalities, as is evident from the word kama [just as]. This distinction provides a clear authority which cannot be rejected even if the whole world were to combine against it. If the same person who was the last Successor of the first dispensation was to come back, the distinction between the two dispensations would disappear and the import of the word kama would be falsified. Such a thing would be contradictory to the Holy Qur’an and is, therefore, false

This is false, and everything that leads to a false conclusion is false.

It is worth remembering that in the verse:

As He made Successors from among those who were before them.—Al-Nur, 24:56

the same kama has been used which is employed in the verse:

As We sent a Messenger to Pharaoh.—Al-Muzzammil, 73:16

p. 130, (See Also Muhammad Ali, Prophethood in Islam, {1915}, supplement, online version, retrieved on 7-1-19,

“The word min-ni (from me) used here, does not necessarily mean that ‘he will be from the Quraish,’ otherwise, this report would have simply mentioned Mahdi to be a Quraishite and could not have described the significance of greater importance. But the sense in which I have taken the word min-ni, evidently proves that he will inherit morals, excellences, miracles and unique mode of divine communication of the Holy Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. This also proves that Mahdi will be from among those perfect ones who are perfect in their morals and are reflection (zill) of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), in these matters. This is the significance of the word min-ni.”

[Tohfah Golarhviah, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 17, pp. 128-133].(See also Essence of Islam, Vol. 4).

“”””The third question is whether or not it is established that the Promised Messiah should have come in our time. The following detailed arguments prove beyond any shadow of doubt that he must appear in our time.

[1] The first argument is that it is stated in Sahih Bukhari— known as the most authentic book after the Holy Book of Allah—that the Promised Messiah will come to break the cross at a time when the world would be rife with intemperance in word and deed. It does not require an investigation to find out that hundreds of thousands have been influenced by Christianity and the country is being greatly affected by heretical teachings. Hundreds of people from every family have not only turned away from Islam but have become sworn enemies of the Holy Prophetsa. Hundreds of books have been published in refutation of Islam and most of them are full of abuse and vilification. When we look back in the context of this calamity, we are compelled to conclude that no century has been as harmful to Islam as the thirteenth century or the one which is now passing. Reason requires that in this time of peril, when forces of opposition have erupted in the world and the internal condition of Muslims has seriously deteriorated, some reformer should appear to repel the mischief of the cross and to purify the internal condition of Muslims. Experience of the thirteenth century has shown that it is not an ordinary task to purify the poisonous winds that are blowing fiercely and affecting sections of every town and village. This opposition to Islam and the multitude of objections raised against it is in itself not something that can be taken lightly. The earth is in turmoil at this appointed time and is forcefully throwing out its poisons. Heavenly power is needed to repel this poison because only diamond cuts diamond. All this clearly proves that this is indeed the time of the appearance of the Promised Messiah….

[2] The second argument comprises some Ahadith and visions of the honoured saints and great divines which indicate that the Promised Messiah and Mahdi would appear at the turn of the fourteenth century. For instance, the Hadith:

Signs will appear after two centuries.

has been interpreted by many of the older and later scholars as meaning that signs would appear after two centuries of the second millennium have passed. This means that the birth of the Messiah and Mahdi, which will be a great sign, will take place in the thirteenth century and that he will make his appearance in the fourteenth century. That is why scholars and divines have held that the Promised Mahdi was bound to be born in the thirteenth century so that he could proclaim himself in the beginning of the fourteenth. Basing himself upon this and several other indications, Maulavi Nawab Siddique Hassan Khan Sahib has recorded in his book Hujaj-ul-Kiramah that he believed on the basis of strong evidence that the Promised Mahdi would appear at the turn of the fourteenth century…

A Hadith of Dar Qutni also proves that the Promised Mahdi would appear at the turn of the fourteenth century. The Hadith says:

The translation of the whole Hadith is: Our Mahdi has two signs which have not appeared for any Messenger, Prophet, or commissioned one, since the creation of heaven and earth. The signs are that in the same month of Ramadan, the moon shall suffer an eclipse on the first of the nights peculiar to such phenomenon, and that the sun shall suffer an eclipse on the middle of the days peculiar to these eclipses.

This means that at the time when the Mahdi will put his claim before the world and the world will reject it, this sign will appear in heaven in his support, and that this sign would be exhibited in the month of Ramadan which is the month in which the Word of God was revealed. The spiritual significance of the darkness would be that great wrong had been committed on the earth, for the one who had come from God had been deemed an impostor. This Hadith clearly determines
the fourteenth century as the time of the appearance of the Mahdi and provides great sign for those who deny him, inasmuch as the eclipses of the sun and the moon took place in this century.
(Tohfae Golarviya, Roohani Khazain, Vol.17, p.142).( See also, Refutation: The Truth About the Eclipse By Saleh Mohammed Alladin (ra), online version, retrieved on 7-1-19,  Review of Religions, May-June, 1999).

“””From ancient time, this has been the way of God that a Sign is manifested when the Messengers of God are treated as liars and are regarded as impostors.”””

(Tohfa-e-Golarviyya; Roohani Khazain, Vol.17, p.143)( See also, Refutation: The Truth About the Eclipse By Saleh Mohammed Alladin (ra), online version, retrieved on 7-1-19,  (And  Review of Religions, May-June, 1999).

“””” I swear by God in Whose Hand is my life that He has manifested this Sign in the sky to testify my truthfulness, and He manifested it at a time when the Maulvis (theologians) named me Dajjal (Anti-Christ), the biggest liar, infidel and even the biggest infidel. This is the same Sign regarding which twenty years ago I was promised in Braheen-e-Ahmadiyya, namely, Tell them I have with me testimony from Allah, will you believe it or not? Tell them I have with me testimony from Allah, will you accept it or not? It should be remembered that although there are many proofs from Almighty God for vindicating my truthfulness and more than a hundred prophecies that have been fulfilled to which hundreds of thousands of people are witnesses, but in this revelation, this prophecy has been mentioned specifically, i.e. I have been given such a Sign which was not given to anybody else from the time of Adam to the present time. In short, I can stand in the sacred precincts of the Ka’aba and swear that this Sign is to testifying to my truth.””””

(Tuhfa-e-Golarhviyyah, p. 55-56, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 17, p. 181-182)(See also Hidden Treasures).  (See also Essence of Islam, Vol. 4).

1) God has bestowed upon me the understanding of the Holy Quran.

2) God has taught me the language of the Holy Quran in a miraculous manner.

3) God accepts my prayers more than of any other person.

4) God has supported me with heavenly Signs.

5) God has granted me signs from the earth.

6) God has bestowed upon me that I shall triumph over everyone who comes forward to oppose me.

7) God has given me the good tidings that my followers will always triumph over others through their reasoning in support of the truth, and that they and their progeny will be greatly honoured in the world, so that they should see that he who comes to God never suffers loss.

8) God has promised me that till the Day of Judgment, He will continue to manifest my blessings so much so that kings will seek blessings from my garments.

9) Twenty years ago, I was informed by God that I would be denied and that people would not accept me but that God would accept me and would manifest my truth through powerful signs.

10)God has promised me that for the purpose of repeating the light of my blessings, a person will be raised from among my progeny into whom God will breath blessings of the Holy Spirit.  He will be characterized by inner purity and will have a close holy relationship with God. He will be a manifestation of the True and the High as if God had descended from heaven.  The time is coming and is near when God will spread far and wide the acceptance of this Movement. It will spread in the East and the West and in the North and the South and Islam will become synonymous with this Movement. This is not said by any man. This is revelation from God for Whom nothing is impossible “””

Page 103–A summary

MGA says death by killing of a prophet is no proof that the prophet is not a true prophet and then on same page later he says if EsaAS did not die on cross then yahyha AS also did not get killed but was lifted up to heaven alive.
[Tohfah Golarhviah, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 17, pp. 148-150]. (See also Essence of Islam, Vol. 4).

“”””The next step is to prove that I am the one whose coming as the Promised Messiah was decreed for the beginning of the fourteenth century. This is proved by the fact that the eclipse of the sun and the moon has taken place at the time of my claim; and the mischief of the cross has assumed a special significance in my time. Through me God has established that the Promised Messiah was to appear from among the Muslims. God Himself has strengthened me, so that no clergyman can stand against me in debate, and God has so overawed Christian divines that they dare not confront me. This is because God has supported me with the Holy Spirit and has appointed His angel to accompany me. Therefore, no Christian priest can confront me. These are the people who used to say that the Holy Prophetsa exhibited no miracle and made no prophecy. Now they are challenged but they do not come forth. This is because God has put it in their minds that if they enter the field against me they can look forward to nothing but defeat. Just consider, who was it that stood up against the Christian clergy when the deification of the Messiahas was at its height and it was alleged that the Holy Prophetsa did not have the support of the Holy Spirit and his miracles and prophecies were denied? Who was it in whose support God Almighty showed such great miracles? Although hundreds of stories have been put forward which have no support, read my book Tiryaq-ul- Qulub and then say honestly who it is that has shown signs and the prophecies which are proved by the testimony of hundreds of thousands of witnesses who are still living. Who is it that challenges his opponents and puts them to shame every morning by inviting them to compete with him and show if they enjoy the support of the Holy Spirit? Is there anyone from amongst the Christians and Hindus and Aryas who can assert before me that the Holy Prophetsa displayed no sign? Thus God has perfected His argument. Denying the truth is not the sign of honesty and integrity.

God has made the truth crystal clear to every people and there is none under the sky who can compete with me with regard to the support of the Holy Spirit.
[Tohfah-e-Golarhviyyah , Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 17, pp. 149-150](See also Essence of Islam, Vol. 3).

“”””God has bestowed upon me strength from Himself so that no Christian cleric can withstand me in debate. God has so impressed the hearts of Christian divines with awe that none of them has any strength left to stand up against me. God has sent me the support of the Holy Spirit and has appointed His angels to keep me company, and no Christian cleric can challenge me. These are the people who used to say that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) performed no miracles and made no prophecy; and now, despite being challenged, they fail to come forward. This is because God has put it in their hearts that they will experience nothing but defeat when they stand up against me.
[Tohfah-e-Golarhviyyah, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 17, pp. 170-172](See also Essence of Islam, Vol. 3).

“”””The excellences of the men of God who have a relationship of love and friendship with Him are not confined to prophecies alone. Verities are disclosed to them and they are granted spiritual comprehension. The wonders and mysteries of the Shariah and proofs of the truth of Islam are revealed to them. The inner meanings of the Holy Qur’an and the fine points of the Word of God are miraculously conveyed to them. They become heirs to miraculous wonders and heavenly knowledge both of which are bestowed directly upon those whom God loves. They are favoured with special love and are invested with devotion and sincerity like Abrahamas. The Holy Spirit is
reflected in their hearts. They become God’s and God becomes theirs. Their prayers bring about extraordinary results. God’s jealousy is roused in their support. They are blessed with victory over their opponents in every field. Their countenances shine with the light of Divine love. God’s mercy comes down upon their dwellings like rain. Like a beloved child, they rest in the lap of God.  God displays greater wrath in their support than a wild tigress whose young is threatened. They are protected against sin, attacks of the enemies, and errors of teaching.  They are the kings of heaven. God hears their supplications in a wonderful manner, so much so that kings have recourse to them. The Lord of Glory resides in their hearts. They are invested with a Divine prestige and their countenances display royal self-sufficiency. They consider the world and its inhabitants to be less than a dead insect. They know only the One and melt under His fear every moment. The world falls at their feet, and it is as if God manifests Himself in human form. They are the light of the world and the pillar of this mortal universe. They are the princes of true peace and they are the sun that dispels darkness. They are hidden beyond hidden and no one truly recognizes them, except God, and no one truly recognizes God except themselves. They are not God but it cannot be said that they are distinct from God. They are not immortal but it cannot be said that they die. Can a wicked person, whose heart and thoughts and life are foul, ever resemble them? Certainly not, except for such resemblance as a shining pebble may sometimes have with a diamond.

When men of God appear in the world, a type of spirituality descends from heaven on account of the blessings that they enjoy and all temperaments are activated, and those whose hearts and minds have affinity with true dreams begins to experience such dreams and visions, as when rain brings down water from the sky the subsoil water also rises, and every kind of vegetation begin to sprout. On the contrary, if rain is held back over a period of time, the water in the wells also dries up. Thus the men of God are in fact heavenly water and with their coming the waters of the earth also swell.

“””It is absolutely wrong to say that Jesus (peace be on him) has ascended bodily to heaven. There is no proof of this in the Holy Qur’an nor in Ahadith, nor can reason accept it; indeed the Qur’an and the Hadith and reason all three reject it. The Holy Qur’an has clearly said that Jesus (peace be on him) has died, and the Hadith narrating the Me‘raj [Spiritual Ascent] of the Holy Prophetsa informs us that Jesusas has joined the souls of the departed Prophets (peace be on them), and has cut asunder completely from the earth. Reason tells us that it is not the way of Allah that a mortal body should ascend to heaven and, discarding all the characteristics of earthly life like eating and drinking etc., should join the souls who have suffered bodily death and have arrived in the hereafter. Reason can furnish no such instance. Moreover, as the belief that Jesus (peace be on him) ascended bodily to heaven is inconsistent with the Holy Qur’an, so is the doctrine of his bodily descent inconsistent with the Holy Qur’an.

The Holy Qur’an affirms the death of Jesus in the verses:

‘When Thou didst cause me to die.’—Al-Ma’idah, 5:118

‘Verily, all Messengers have passed away before him.’— Al-e-‘Imran, 3:145

‘This day have I perfected your religion for you.’— Al-Ma’idah, 5:4

‘But he is the Messenger of Allah and the Seal of the Prophets.’—Al-Ahzab, 33:41

and proclaims the end of normal Prophethood after the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and clearly affirms that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) is Khatam-ul- Anbiya’ by stating:

‘But he is the Messenger of Allah and the Seal of the Prophets.’—Al-Ahzab, 33:41

But those who insist on bringing Jesus (peace be on him) back to the earth believe that he will return with the status of a Prophet and for forty-five years Gabriel shall continue to convey Prophetic revelation to him. What room does this doctrine leave for the belief that Prophethood ended with the Holy Prophetsa? According to them it is Jesus who is the Khatam-ul-Anbiya’.

“”””Bear in mind that the twelfth khaleefah of Islaam, who should be at the start of the 13th [Hijree] century, is [at a position] comparable [i.e., analogous] to prophet Yahyaa, whose head was cut off for a defiled nation (whoever is able to understand should do so) … Islaam’s thirteenth khaleefah, who should be at the start of 14th century, whose name is Maseeh Mau`ood … Mr. Sayyad Ahmad Baraylvee is the twelfth khaleefah of the system of Muhammadee khilaafat, being the analogue of Hadrat Yahyaa … “”””

“””While I was engaged upon the compilation of this book, Allah the Almighty addressed me and said:

[Urdu] Yalash is the name of God Himself.

This is a revealed new word which is not found in this form in the Qur’an or hadith or in any dictionary. It has been disclosed to me that it connotes [ya la sharik] [O You without an associate]. The purpose of this revelation is that no human being possesses a quality or a name or performs any action which is peculiar to Him and is not to be found in any other. That is why the qualities and the miracles of every Prophet are displayed, by way of reflection, by some of his selected followers who have a perfect spiritual relationship with him, lest the ignorant ones should hold a Prophet to be without an associate because of some uniqueness. To call a Prophet Yalash would amount to utter disbelief.”””
[Tohfah Golarviah, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 17, pp. 213-214](See also Essence of Islam, Vol. 2).

“”””God Almighty deals with offenders in two ways, and offenders are of two types.  First, there are those offenders who do not transgress the limits, and though out of extreme bigotry they persist in their effort yet they do not carry their persecution to the extreme limit. These will be punished in the hereafter. God, the All-Knowing, does not seize them in this world inasmuch as their attitude is not one of severe hostility.  For the punishment of sins the appointed day is the Day
of Judgement.

Secondly, there are those offenders who transgress the limits in their wrongdoing and persecution and desire to rend the Messenger of God and the righteous like wild beasts and to wipe them out altogether, and to consume them like a blazing fire. With regard to such offenders who carry their wrath to the limit, the way of Allah is that His wrath is roused against them and they are punished in this world in addition to their chastisement in the hereafter. In the idiom of the Qur’an they are designated the maghdubi-‘alaihim.”””

“””This revelation was published in the Barahin-e-Ahmadiyyah twelve years before I was declared a non-believer. [This was the time] when Maulavi Muhammad Husain wrote out his declaration of apostasy and asked Miyan Nadhir Husain of Delhi to be the first to place his stamp of approval on it and thus declare me a non-believer and to publish it among all Muslims. Twelve years before this declaration and the stamp of approval from the above-mentioned Miyan [Nadhir Husain], this book [Barahin-e-Ahmadiyyah] had been published throughout the Punjab and India. Maulavi Muhammad Husain, who turned out to be the first to propound this declaration, after twelve years, was the one who laid the foundation of declaration of apostasy. Miyan Nadhir Husain of Delhi was the one to spread this fire throughout the country on account of his reputation. Here is a proof of God’s knowledge of the Unseen, inasmuch as this prophecy was made at a time when there was no cause or occasion for this declaration and Maulavi Muhammad Husain considered himself to be in my service. At that time God the Almighty revealed this prophecy. Anyone endowed with even minimal reason and intelligence should reflect whether it is within human power of mine or of anyone else to know, on the basis of intellectual conjectures, twelve years in advance, a storm, the fierceness of which would carry away a person like Maulavi Muhammad Husain—who professed such sincerity towards me—into such great error and along with him a person like Miyan Nadhir Husain who had said that no book like the Barahin-e-Ahmadiyyah had been published in the history of Islam. Indeed this is purely God’s knowledge [of the Unseen] which is termed a miracle.””””

(Roohani Khazyian 17-pagee 226 -Toufa Golria)

“””When the Dajjal [Antichrist] is destroyed there will be no Dajjal thereafter till the Judgment Day. This is a determination by the All-Wise, All-Knowing. This is an intimation from our Noble Lord and good news from Allah, the Compassionate and the Merciful.”””””

“””Among the arguments which prove that I am the Promised Messiah, there are some signs that are personal to the Promised Messiah. A major sign among them is that the Promised Messiah must appear in the latter days as set out in the Hadith:

It will be in the latter days when tribulations will abound and the age will be approaching its end.

There are two kinds of indications to prove that these are the last days in which the Messiah should appear.

The signs set out in the Qur’an and the Ahadith which indicate the approach of the Day of Judgement and which have been clearly fulfilled. As, for instance, the eclipse of the sun and the moon in the month of Ramadan which is indicated in the verse:

Al-Qiyamah, 75:10

Then there is the discarding of camels as a means of transportation, as is clearly indicated in the verse:

Al-Takwir, 81:5

And the multiplication of irrigation canals which is obvious from the verse:

Al-Infitar, 82:4

And the continuous falling of stars as indicated in:

Al-Infitar, 82:3

And the occurrence of famines and the spread of epidemics and the scarcity of rain as contained in:

Al-Infitar, 82:2

And a total eclipse of the sun; thus spreading darkness as stated in:

Al-Takwir, 81:2

And the moving of the mountains as is generally understood to be the meaning of the verse:

Al-Takwir, 81:4

And the rising of the fortunes of the people who are wild, lowly, and unacquainted with noble Islamic virtues, as is obvious from the verse:

Al- Takwir, 81:6

And the multiplication of the means of communication and travel, whereby it will become easy for people to meet one another, which is an accepted interpretation of the verse:

Al- Takwir, 81:8

And publication of books, pamphlets and letters in all countries, as indicated in:

Al- Takwir, 81:11

And the corruption of the inner condition of the divines, who are the stars of Islam, which is a clear purport of the verse:

Al- Takwir, 81:3

and the spread of innovations, errors, and all kinds of disobedience and vices, as indicated in the verse:

Al-Inshiqaq, 84:2

All these signs of the approach of the Day of Judgement have been manifested and the world is in the grip of a great revolution…

Then there is the verse in Surah Al-Mursalat which indicates that a great sign of the approach of the Day of Judgement is that someone should appear and with his coming the number of Messengers should be determined.

This means that the last Khalifah in the chain of successors in the Islamic dispensation, whose name is the Promised Messiah and the awaited Mahdi, shall make his appearance in the last days. The verse is:

Al-Mursalat 77:12

i.e., the time when number of the Messengers will be determined. This means that with the appearance of the last Khalifah, the number of Messengers which had been determined by Divine decree and had been hidden, shall become manifest. This verse also clearly shows that the Promised Messiah will be from among the Muslims.”””””

“””By the solar count, the period from Adam to the Holy Prophet, may peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, comes to 4598 years as disclosed by God Almighty to me.”””

“””Each prophet has one advent but our Prophet, the blessings of Allaah and peace be on him, has two advents and the categorical statement on this is the noble verse ‘wa aakhareena minhum lamma yalhaqoo bihim’ [And others of them who have not joined them] [Quraan 62:4]. All great Quraanic commentators write in the explanation of this verse that the final group of this nation, that is, Maseeh Mau`ood’s community, will be colored as [i.e., have the characteristics of] the Companions [of Muhammad] and like the Companions [of Muhammad], with whom Allaah be pleased, without any difference, will obtain grace and guidance from His Holiness [Muhammad], the blessings of Allaah and peace be on him. … His Holiness [Muhammad], the blessings of Allaah and peace be on him, has two advents or, in other words, it may be stated that His Holiness’ second coming into the world, the blessings of Allaah and peace be on him, in a ‘buroozee’ [projected or manifested or displayed] manner, had been promised, which [promise] was fulfilled by the appearance of the Maseeh Mau`ood and Mahdee Ma’hood”””

“””(B) God Almighty has disclosed to me through a vision that on the basis of the value of the letters comprised in surah al-‘Asr, the time from the birth of Adam to the blessed period of the Holy Prophet, may peace and blessings of Allah be upon him—that is, including all 23 years of his prophethood—amounts to a total period of 4739 lunar years, that is to say from the beginning of human civilization [Adam] to the death of the Holy Prophet, may peace and blessings of Allah be upon him.””””
[RK, v. 17, p. 296; marginal note; Tohfa-e-Goldrawiyah](Via Nuzhat Haneef)

“””It would not be strange if Sayyad Ahmad Baraylvee’s appearance was for this Maseeh Mau`ood in the manner of Ilyaas [Elias]. Because his blood cleared the way for Maseeh Mau`ood, who is this writer, by uprooting a tyrannical dominion. It seems to be the effect of his blood that invited the British into Punjab and, having removed the severe religious hindrances, which were like an iron oven, delivered the Punjab to a free dominion and lay the foundation for the propagation of Islaam.”””
[Tohfah-e-Golarhviyyah, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 17, p. 317, sub-footnote]. (See also Essence of Islam, Vol. 4).

“””On several occasions, God Almighty has informed me through visions that Krishna, who appeared among the Aryas was a chosen one of God, and was one of the Prophets of his age. Indeed, the word Avatar, current among the Hindus, is in fact synonymous with the word Prophet. There is a prophecy in the Hindu scriptures that an Avatar will appear in the latter days who will possess the qualities of Krishna and will be his Buruz [re-advent by way of reflection]. It has been disclosed to me that I am that person. Krishna has two qualities: First, he is Ruddar, the slayer of wild beasts and swine—with reason and heavenly signs; Secondly, he is Gaupal, or nourisher of cows, that is to say, a helper of the pious with his spiritual breath. Both these are characteristics of the Promised Messiah and both these have been bestowed upon me by God Almighty.”””
[Tohfah Golarhviyyah, p. 130 sub-footnote, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 17, p. 317 sub-footnote](See Also, the 2009 online english edition of Tadhkirah).

(B) God Almighty has disclosed to me repeatedly in my visions that a person of the name of Krishan, who appeared among the Aryas, was a chosen one of God and was a Prophet of his time.

The expression Avatar which is current among the Hindus is in its essence synonymous with Prophet. There is a prophecy in Hindu scriptures that in the latter days an Avatar would appear, who will possess the qualities of Krishna and will be his reflection. It has been conveyed to me that I am that person. Krishan had two qualities; one, that he was Ruddar i.e. the slayer of wild beasts and swine, [evil characters] that is to say by reasoning and Signs; and, two, that he was Gopal i.e. the nourisher of cows, that is to say he was a helper of the virtuous through his spirit. Both of these are the qualities of the Promised Messiah and God has bestowed both of them upon me.
[Tohfah Golarhviyyah, pp. 130 footnote, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 17, pp. 317–318 footnote].(See Also, the 2009 online english edition of Tadhkirah).

“”””(A) Once I was shown in a vision a person well versed in Sanskrit who was a great believer in Krishan [Krishna]. He stood before me and addressed the following words to me:

[Urdu/Hindi] O Ruddar Gopal, your praise is set out in the Gita.

I understood therefrom that the whole world whether Hindu, Muslim or Christian, is waiting for a Ruddar Gopal, but he has been described in different words and languages; and all are agreed that this is the time of his advent. All have set out two qualities for him: slayer of swine, and protector of cows. I am the one [possessing both these qualities]. Among the Hindus it has been proclaimed from ancient times that the subject of these prophecies would appear in the Aryavart, that is to say, in this country India. Those prophecies also set out names of places of his habitat but they are all metaphoric, subject to interpretation.

NURUL-HAQQ (Part-2) quotes and background data

Nurul-Haqq was a 2-part booklet written by MGA and his team of writers in 1894.  This book is in Arabic only, however, the original also contained an Urdu translation.  This book has never been translated into english (see Hidden Treasures).  On May 18, 1894, Noor-ul-Haq Part-2 was published (see Mujadid e Azim, abridged english edition, page 507).  In Part-1, MGA and his team never even mentioned any hadith about eclipses and etc, in fact, in 15 years as a writer, MGA had never connected the famous prophecy of the Mahdi with any hadith about eclipses.  However, in 1907, in Haqiqatul Wahy, MGA claimed to have predicted the eclipses in Nurul-Haqq Part-1, pages 35-38.  This is the same book wherein MGA’s team wrote Lanaat 1000 times.

“””(B) When I had decided to compile this book [Nurul-Haqq], I received a revelation from the Lord of lords that the disbelievers and those who have declared me a disbeliever would not have the power to compile a book like it in its arrangement of prose and its poems, and containing the insights and wisdom set forth in it. Therefore, he who desires to controvert my revelation should produce the like of what I have set forth; for the Mahdi is guided towards
matters to which no one else is guided. His opponent will not be able to get anywhere near him, even though he were to fly through the atmosphere.”””
[Nurul-Haqq, part 2, Title Page, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 8, p. 187](See the 2009 edition of Tadhkirah).
“””… I behold that the people of Mecca will enter in large numbers in the party of Allah, the Powerful, the Absolute.  This is the doing of the Lord of the heavens and is strange in the eyes of the earthly people.””””[Nurul-Haqq, part 2, p. 10, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 8, p. 197](See the 2009 edition of Tadhkirah).
“””The correct interpretation and the true and correct meaning [of the hadith] is that ‘the moon would be eclipsed on the first night in the month of Ramadan’ means that it will be eclipsed on the first of the three nights in which it is full, as you well-know the expression ayyam-e-bid [white days]…. Also, the meaning of his words that ‘the sun would be eclipsed on the middle [day]’ is that the solar eclipse would occur in a manner that it would split in the middle the days on which an eclipse takes place.… I have not said this on my own; rather, it is a revelation from the Lord of the worlds.””” (Nurul-Haqq, part 2, pp. 13, 15, 19, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 8, pp. 201, 204, 210)(See also Hidden Treasures).
“”””Know then that Allah has breathed into my heart that the eclipses of the moon and of the sun that have occurred during Ramadan are two awe-striking Signs which have been exhibited to warn those who follow Satan and have adopted the ways of injustice and transgression… If they persist in their denial, the time of the chastisement is near.””””
[Nurul-Haqq, part 2, p. 35, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 8, pp. 227–228](See the 2009 edition of Tadhkirah).
“”””My Lord revealed to me that I should perfect the divine challenge against them (the Christians) and should expose to mankind the ignorance of the disobedient ones. That is why I have compiled this booklet [Nurul-Haqq].””” [Nurul-Haqq, part 2, p. 61, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 8, p. 259](See the 2009 edition of Tadhkirah).

“”””(C) It has been revealed to me by my Lord that they are all like the blind and will not be able to produce the like of it and that they are false in their claims.”””[Nurul-Haqq, part 2, p. 62, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 8, p. 260](See the 2009 edition of Tadhkirah).

“””O servants of God, ponder and think. Do you consider it permissible that the Mahdi should be born in the countries of Arabia and Syria and his Sign should be manifested in our country; and you know that the wisdom of God does not separate the sign from the person for whom the sign is meant. Then how could it be possible that the Mahdi should be in the East but his sign should be in the West. And this should be sufficient for you if you are really seekers after truth.””” (Noorul Haq, Part-II)(Retrieved from, on 6-25-19)(See also Review of Religions, May-June, 1999).
“”””I desire to make it clear to the readers that my faith in Hazrat Masih, peace be on him, is a very good faith. I believe sincerely that he was a true prophet of God and was loved by Him and I believe that, as indicated by the Holy Quran, he had, as a means of his salvation, perfect faith in our lord and master, Muhammad Mustafa, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. He was one of the sincere servants of the law of Moses. I respect him according to his station. But the Jesus who is presented by the Christians, who claimed to be God and condemned everyone else except himself, both those who had gone before and who were to come after, as accursed, as having been guilty of vices the recompense of which is a curse, is regarded by us as deprived of Divine mercy. The Holy Quran makes no reference to this impertinent and foul-mouthed Jesus. We are surprised at the conduct of one who considered that God was subject to death and himself claimed to be God and who reviled such righteous ones as were thousand times better than him. In our writings we have had this fictitious Jesus of the Christians in mind. The humble servant of God, Isa, son of Mary, who was a Prophet and is mentioned in the Holy Quran, is not the object of our harsh condemnations. We have had to adopt this method after having endured for forty years the abuse of the Holy Prophet, peace and blessing of Allah be upon him, by the Christian missionaries.”””(Nurul Quran, No.2)(See Truth about Ahmadiyyat by
B. A. Rafiq, online version,, Retrieved on 6-25-19).

“”””I declare it with regret that we have had to issue this number of the Nurul Quran in answer to a person who, instead of adopting a civil method, has had recourse to vile abuse of our lord and master the Holy Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and out of his vileness he has uttered such calumnies against that Leader of the pure and Chief of the righteous, that the heart of a pious one trembles at hearing them. This reply is a refutation of the utterers of such abuse. We wish to declare that our belief concerning the Messiah, peace be upon him, is a very good belief and that we have sincere faith in that he Was a true Prophet of God and was loved by Him.”””” (NuruI Quran, No.2)(See Truth about Ahmadiyyat by
B. A. Rafiq, online version,, Retrieved on 6-25-19).

“””Padre Fateh Masih of Fateh Garh, District Gurdaspur, has addressed a vile letter to me in which he has charged our lord and master Muhammad Mustafa, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, with adultery and has, besides this, uttered vile abuse of him. I have, therefore, considered it necessary to reply to it and hence this booklet. I trust the Christian padres will study it carefully and will not be aggrieved at its language as the tone that has been adopted in it is in consequence of the harsh language and vile abuse employed by Mian Fateh Masih, Yet, it is necessary to uphold the holy station of the true Messiah, peace be on him. In reply to the harsh language of Fateh Masih, a fictitious Jesus has been portrayed and that also under great compulsion for this foolish one has abused the Holy Prophet peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, in a vile manner and has wounded our hearts.””” (Nurul Quran, No.2)(See Truth about Ahmadiyyat by B. A. Rafiq, online version,, Retrieved on 6-25-19).

“””I had no worldly resources, horses or soldiers except that I wield my pen and decided that I would not write any book without mentioning the blessings of the reign of Queen Victoria for which all Muslims ought to be grateful…. It is our duty according to our religion. He, who is not thankful to men, cannot be grateful to God Who loves fairness…. I have published these books not only in India but also in Arabia and other countries…. This is what I have done for the British Government. God above is the witness of the sincerity of my motives. I have not served the Government out of fear, nor have I ever expected a reward at its hands…. On the other hand, I have a right to say that I am like a shield for the British Government to protect it from calamities. God has told me that He will not let harm come to it while I am with it. Hence, there is no one else like me in respect of the help that I have rendered to the British Government, which it will find out soon if it has any insight into people.”””” (Nurul- Haqq, Part I, p. 29, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 8, pp. 39)(See also Hidden Treasures).
“””This Government safeguards the lives and the properties of the Muslims and provides them with security against the attack of every wrongdoer… I have not embarked upon this enterprise out of any fear of Government or in the hope of any reward from it. All I have done is in accordance with the divine command and the command of the Holy Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him.””” (Nurul Haq, Part I, p.30)(See Truth about Ahmadiyyat by

“””I have seen Jesus, on whom be peace, several times in my dreams and my visions. He has eaten with me at the same table and once I asked him about that which had befallen his people. He was much perturbed and recalled the greatness of Allah and proclaimed His Holiness and
pointed to the earth and said: I am from the earth and am innocent of that which they attribute to me. I found him a humble and courteous person.””” (Nurul-Haqq, Part I, p. 41, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 8, pp. 56-57)(See also Hidden Treasures)(See also the 2009, online english edition of Tadhkirah).

On page 184

“””Oh God! Am I not from You? At this time, when there is an onslaught of disbelievers, Oh God,you come to my aid from sky and help this humble self.”””(See also Hidden Treasures).
“””…I am able to say that I am like an amulet for this government, and am like a refuge to safeguard it against calamities. God has given me the good news saying:

[Arabic] Allah would not chastise them while you are among them.

[Nurul-Haqq, part 1, pp. 32–33, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 8, p. 45](See also the 2009, online english edition of Tadhkirah).
“”””On another occasion I saw him [Hadrat ‘Isa, peace be upon him] standing at the threshold of my door holding a paper in his hand as if it was a letter. Then it was conveyed to me that the letter contained the names of those who love God and whom God loves and that it describes the ranks of nearness to God which they enjoy. I read this letter and discovered that towards the end there was an entry with regard to me proceeding from Allah the Almighty to the effect:

[Arabic] He is to Me like My Unity and Uniqueness and soon will he be made well known among people.

“”””It should be known that the Holy Quran does not arbitrarily give the command to fight. It gives the command to fight only against those people who prevent others from believing in God, and stop them from obeying His commandments and worshipping Him. It gives the command to fight against those who attack Muslims without cause, expel them from their homes and countries, and prevent people from becoming Muslims. These are they with whom God is wroth, and Muslims must fight them if they do not desist”””” (Nur al-Haq, vol. I, p. 46).
“””(A) The truth that has been shown to us by the True God, the All-Wise, and the information conveyed to us by the Knower of the Subtleties is that the weapons of the Promised Messiah are heavenly and not earthly and that all his campaigns are with a spiritual outlook and not with
material weapons. He will kill his enemies with his looks and his courage, that is to say with his spiritual force and his penetrating arguments and not with arrows, lances, or swords and that his kingdom is heavenly and not earthly.””” [Nurul-Haqq, part 1, p. 52, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 8, p. 72](See also the 2009, online english edition of Tadhkirah).
“””(B) Our Lord has revealed to us that the battles of the Promised Messiah are spiritual battles, which will take place with a spiritual outlook.””” [Nurul-Haqq, part 1, p. 54, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 8, p. 75](See also the 2009, online english edition of Tadhkirah).
“”””It was revealed upon my heart that the Masihas [Messiah] applied the term Antichrist to the Christians of the latter age. He did not apply the epithet to earlier ones though they were also astray and were given to perverting the scriptures. The clue to this is that the earlier Christians did not exert themselves so hard to mislead people as the later ones did. Indeed, they had not the power to do so.””””  [Nurul-Haqq, part 1, pp. 57–58, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 8, pp. 79–80](See also the 2009, online english edition of Tadhkirah).
“”””It has been revealed upon my heart that the meaning of the word ruh in the verse {{(On the day when the Spirit [and the angels] will stand… (al-Naba’, 78:39)}} is the company of Messengers, Prophets, and Muhaddathin, all together, on whom Ruhul-Qudus [the spirit of holiness] descends and who are granted the converse with Allah.””””

“”””It has been revealed to me by my Lord that you will not be able to enter into this contest and that Allah will disclose your helplessness, and will humiliate you and will establish that you are held prisoner by ignorance and error, and that, even if you were supported by your people in this opinion, you would all be finally vanquished.”””  [Nurul-Haqq, part 1, p. 114, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 8, p. 153](See also the 2009, online english edition of Tadhkirah).

“Like a man who eats feces (poo/shit) for a long time, and thinks of it as nice and

good food, … do you eat shit, you who is the shit of the malicious people? … he said

i would not eat shit”

(MGA’s arabic book nur alhaq page 115)

“كمثل رجلٍ كان يأكل البُرازَ مِن مدة مديدة، ويحسبه من أغذيةٍ لطيفةٍ جديدةٍ، … أتأكل البراز يا بُرازَ الخبيثين؟

…. قال إني ما آكل البراز”. (نور الحق، ص 115)

MGA says _____________________________________________________________________________________________

“if you remove the poo/shit from the toilet but some of its particles remained, would you eat there? As well, if the remains of filth stay in the heart, the angels of mercy

would not enter it. (AL-HAKAM NO. 39, page 8, NO. 31/10/1902)

“إذا أزيل البراز من المرحاض وبقيت فيه بعض أجزائه، هل يستسيغ أحد أن يأكل الطعام هنالك؟ كذلك إذا

بقيت في القلب شوائب القذارة لما دخله ملائكة الرحمة”. (الحكم، مجلد6، رقم39، صفحة 8، عدد: 31/10/1902م)

MGA says

“who their eyes commit adultery, and their hearts are more unclean than feces/poo/shit, and those who never mention death, by god, I am innocent of them … they are like a mouse that grow up in darkness”.

MGA says

“There is no doubt that Allah has blackened their faces with humiliation, this is what is called good ripe fruit for MUBAHALA, and this is the divine support, but holding on

to lying is like eating shit and manure”.

MGA says

“And fall like flies on the pus, mucus and the shit of people, and leave roses ……”.

MGA says

“His body is now of a special kind so that he no longer needs food, nor to dress, nor to urine, and nor to shit/defecation.” (إزالة الأوهام، ص 356)

“وإن جسمه الآن من نوع خاص بحيث لم يعد بحاجة إلى الطعام ولا إلى اللباس ولا إلى البول والتبرُّز”. (إزالة الأوهام، ص 356)

MGA says

“Elahi Bakhsh filled his book the rod of Moses with false accusations, obscenities, and with uncleanness which is contrary to reality, it’s like a channel of water filled with mud, or a toilet filled with shit”.

Who is Dr. Hafiz Saleh Muhammad Alladin (born 3 March 1931 in Hyderabad, India; died 20 March 2011 in Amritsar)

He was an Indian Ahmadi Muslim astronomer. Alladin received in 1963 a PhD at the University of Chicago. He was among the famous 100 Astronomers of the world and served as the educational advisor to former President APJ Abdul Kalam of India. He wrote many books, penned hundreds of articles and published more than 50 research papers. He then went as a professor at the Osmania University in Hyderabad, where he was Director of the Center of Advanced Study in Astronomy.  In 1998, he finally wrote about Ahmadiyya and picked the topic of the eclipses.  He was the president of Sadar Anjuman Ahmadiyya, the highest body of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamat in India under the Khalifatul Masih V Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad for 4 years.[5] He was referred as Ulul Albab by Mirza Masroor Ahmad which means one of those gifted with understanding.[6]

His father?
His father was an Ahmadi named Seth Abdullah Allahdin (or spelled Alladin). Abdullah Alladin wrote “The Claims and Teachings of Ahmad, the Promised Messiah and Mahdi” published as a second edition in 1917, from Secunderabad, India, which is central India.  This proves that Ahmadiyya had spread to deep South Central India by 1917.  The title of this book also lists how there is an Ahmadiyya Jamaat book depot in Ceylon (slave island), which is modern day Sri Lanka.  His father devoted a large part of his wealth to the Mirza family (see page 53), he seems to have converted to Ahmadiyya in the 1910’s.  In 1922, he wrote a translation of the Quran in english, a sort of translation with hadith, however, he only picked certain verses of the Quran.  His PDF version of the same book, republished in 1918 can be downloaded here.  The Imam Of the Age by Seth Abdullah Allah Din (1918).  In this book, he even quotes MGA’s letter of Takfir to Dr. Abdul Hakim Khan.  A 1916 version of the same book can be found here: Claims and Teachings of Ahmad (1916).

His father was mentioned in the ROR of 1919
“”””Among honorary workers, the name of Seith Abdullah Allah Din of Sikandrabad deserves special mention. He is filled with great zeal for the propagation of the truth taught by the Ahmadiyya Community and has spent thousands of rupees in publishing and distributing Ahmadiyya literature. He has only recently succeeded in winning over a learned Imam of Sikandrabad whom he now wishes to employ as an Ahmadi preacher and has asked him to prepare himself for that purpose. It is gratifying to learn that many a seeker after truth has benefited by the literature published by our brother and Ahmadi preachers are making the best use of his publications. They are mostly English and Gujrati translations of the writings of the Promised Messiah.”””

Khan Bahadur Seth Ahmad Aladin of Hayderabad Deccan writes:

“Respected Mirza Bashiruddin Mahmood Ahmad Sahib has been specially kind and benevolent towards me. His practical life, broadmindedness and unwavering faith in Allah has always impressed me.” (Al-Hakam, Jubilee No., 1931).

In 1990, he wrote an essay about the life of MGA in the ROR.

He seems to have written another article in the ROR of 1998, wherein he argued that the double eclipses in ramadhan in 1894 for MGA was miraculous, since it was visible in Qadian, India.

The Advent of the Promised Messiah as Vindicated by the Signs of the Lunar and Solar Eclipses

“Nuzul ul Masih” or “The Descent of the Messiah” (published posthumously in 1909) and quotes

Dear readers, after MGA died, there were 3 books that were published posthumously, “Jesus in India”, “Braheen-e-Ahmadiyya Vol. 5” and “Nuzul ul Masih”.  These books were cover-up jobs, the BA5 addressed the failure of MGA’s “age-prophecy”, which promised that MGA would live until age 80, which would be 1920, however, MGA died early of cholera.  In this book, MGA claims that his father died in 1875, and he also wrote that his brother died in 1881.  Why did do this?  His editors did this to discredit MGA himself and assert that MGA was just guessing, they were thus able to adjust his year of birth back 4-5 years to 1835.  Ahmadi sources claim that MGA began writing this book in 1902.  This book in english is “The descent of the Messiah”, however, Ahmadi sources call it “The Second Coming of the Messiah”.  This book was published on the 25th of August 1909.  Interestingly enough, Ahmadiyya sources have just published an english translation of ‘Ijaz i Ahmadi” (1902).  The first 55 pages of Ijaz i Ahmadi are in fact the Appendix for Nuzul ul Masih.

Seeratul Mahdi and Nuzul ul Masih, clashing of dates and etc
This narration 769 spreads over 5 pages and deals with various discrepencies in the dates.

Ref. seera tul Mahdi 3

Narration no. 769

” Dr Ismail wrote to me and said that in narration 467 of seerat ul mahdi, he differs with me on some of the dates which are given below:

1- (A) HAZRAT MASIH MOUOOD WROTE 20 AUGUST 1875 AS THE DATE OF DEATH OF HIS FATHER LATE MIRZA GHULAM MURTAZA (look Nazool al Masih page 207) but in seerat ul mahdi 1876 is written. Then in an other place, HAZRAT SAHEB (mgaq) WROTE JUNE 1874 AS HIS FATHERS’S DATE OF DEATH (nazool ul masih page 116)

The humble one states that ” contradiction ” in his (mgaq) own statement shows that he wrote those estimated dates out of memory. But the dates that i wrote was taken from government records therefore I consider 1876 is the right date and in HAZRAT SAHIB (MGAQ)’s book KASHFAL ATA HAS THAT REFERNCE”

(B) I am skipping this part, this again shows contradictions that mgaq had with regards to some incidents.

2- HAZRAT SAHEB (mgaq) WROTE HIS BROTHER MIRZA GHULAM QADIR DIED IN 1881 (nazoole masih) and you wrote 1883 in seera tul mehdi. Similarly in an other place HAZRAT SAHEB (mgaq) WROTE 1887 AS DATE OF DEATH (nazool Masih 213) ”

Some quotes
1—-“””He who accepts me accepts afresh all the prophets and their miracles, and he who does not accept me will lose his previous faith also, for he has only tales to fall back on and his own observation. I am the mirror of God Almighty. He who comes to me and accepts me will see afresh the God concerning Whom other people have only old tales to tell. I believe in the God Whom those who deny me do not recognize. I state truly that what they believe in are the idols of their imagination and not God. That is why those idols cannot help them, cannot give them
strength, cannot bring about a holy change in them, and cannot show them any signs (Nuzul ul Masih, pp. 84-85, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol .18, pp. 462-463)(See Hidden Treasures).”””

2—“”The name of the Revenue Officer who was trying the suit was Hafiz Hidayat ‘Ali. He dismissed the suit on the statement of the defendant that according to a decision of the Commissioner he was entitled to cut down the tree in dispute. When he announced the dismissal of the suit the defendant and his witnesses went out of the court room. They returned to the village and announced that the suit has been dismissed. Thereafter, the Reader of the Court, who left the court room for a little while, returned and pointed out to the Revenue Officer that the order of the Commissioner which the defendant had relied upon had been set aside by the Financial Commissioner. The Reader put up the file to the Revenue Officer. Thereupon, Hidayat ‘Ali made a complete turnabout, tore up his first order, and decreed the suit. “”””Once I saw in a dream that my brother Ghulam Qadir was seriously ill. This dream was communicated to several people. Accordingly, my brother became seriously ill

Thereupon, I began to pray for him. I saw another dream that he was being called by an elder deceased member of the family. The usual interpretation of such a dream is death. His illness became more serious and he was reduced to a skeleton. This caused me great anxiety and I turned to Allah the Almighty, praying for his recovery…. I started praying and a few days later I saw in my dream that my brother was walking about in the house in full health without any support. He was accordingly restored to health by Allah the Almighty and lived for fifteen years thereafter.

“”””The declaration by Bava Nanak in my dream that he was a Muslim meant that sometime his being a Muslim will become public. It is for this purpose that I wrote my book ‘Satt Bachan’. My saying to the Hindu: ‘The water of this fountain is not clear, drink from our fountain’; meant that a time will come when the truth of Islam will become manifest to the Hindus and the Sikhs and the fountain of Bava, which the Sikhs have foolishly rendered muddy, will be cleared up through me.
[Nuzulul-Masih, pp. 205, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 18, p. 583](see also the 2009 online english edition of Tadhkirah).

“””””(A) On one occasion I saw Bava Nanak in a dream in which he declared himself a Muslim. I also saw a Hindu drinking from his fountain and I said to the Hindu: The water of this fountain is not clear, drink from our fountain. This was thirty years ago and I related my dream to several Hindus and I was certain that confirmation of this would become available in due course. Accordingly, after some years, this dream was fulfilled very clearly. Three hundred years after the death of Bava Nanak, we found access to his robe which proves clearly that he was a Muslim. This robe, which is a kind of outer covering, is preserved with great reverence as a relic at Dera Baba Nanak [District Gurdaspur] in the custody of his descendants.

“”””About twenty-five years before the case brought against me by Martyn Clark I had seen in a dream that I was present in a court before a magistrate and the time of the prayers had approached. I requested permission from the magistrate to go and join the prayers and he cheerfully gave me permission.

Accordingly, in the middle of the hearing of that case, when I requested Captain Douglas to permit me to join the prayers, he gladly gave me permission.

“””””In a dream I saw an angel seated on an elevated platform in the guise of a boy. In his hand he was holding a pure loaf of bread, which was very bright.  He gave it to me and said:

[Urdu] This is for you and for the dervishes who are with you.

I saw this dream at a time when I was not at all known nor had I put forth any claim nor was there any group of dervishes with me. But now I have a large Jama‘at of people who have voluntarily chosen to put their faith above the world and have thus reduced themselves to the position of dervishes. Having migrated from their homes and having separated themselves from their relatives and friends, they have taken up permanent abode near me.

I had interpreted the loaf of bread as meaning that God Himself will provide for me and for my followers and that we will not be rendered anxious on account of lack of provision.

This has been the case over a long number of years.

“””””Mirza A‘zam Beig, who was a retired Extra Assistant Commissioner, instituted a suit against us to recover the share from our property of some of our absentee co-sharers.  My brother Mirza Ghulam Qadir, believing firmly in the strength of our case, entered upon its defence. When I
supplicated with reference to this matter, I was vouchsafed the revelation:

[Arabic] I shall accept all your supplications except in the matter of your collaterals.

Thereupon, I collected all our relatives and told them very clearly that they would not succeed in that suit and should not proceed with its defence; but, relying upon the apparent strength of their case, they paid no heed to my warning and continued the defence. In the court of first instance, the decision went in favour of my brother. But how could the matter be concluded contrary to the revelation from Allah the All-Knowing! Finally, in the Chief Court, my brother lost the case. In this way the truth of the revelation became manifest for everyone.

“”””About twenty-five years ago, I saw a dream in Gurdaspur that I was sitting on a char-pa’i [cot] and that Maulavi ‘Abdullah Ghaznavi (deceased) was sitting on my left on the same cot.  Meanwhile, it passed through my mind that I should push Maulavi [‘Abdullah Ghaznavi] off the charpa’i.  I began to move slowly towards him until he got off the cot and sat down on the ground. Thereupon, three angels appeared from heaven, one of whom bore the name: Khaira’iti. They also sat down on the ground as Maulavi ‘Abdullah was sitting and I remained seated on the charpa’i.
Then I said to all of them: ‘I will now pray and you say Amin.’ Thereafter, I supplicated:

[Arabic] Lord, remove all uncleanliness from me and purify me completely

On this, the three angels and Maulavi ‘Abdullah all said: ‘Amin’. Thereafter, the three angels and Maulavi ‘Abdullah flew up to the sky and I woke up.

As soon as I woke up I felt sure that Maulavi ‘Abdullah would soon die and that a special grace had been decreed for me in the heavens. Thereafter, I felt all the time that a heavenly power was working inside me until I began to receive revelation in continuous succession. In that one
night, Allah the Almighty perfected in me a change of the kind which cannot be brought about by the hand of man or by man’s volition.

It seems to me that Maulavi ‘Abdullah Ghaznavi had been drawn to the Punjab to bear witness to the light which was to be vouchsafed to me and he bore such witness. His testimony was affirmed by Hafiz Muhammad Yusuf and his brother Muhammad Ya‘qub but later they were
overcome by the love of the world.

I declare on oath in the name of God—whose false oath is the act of curse—that Maulavi ‘Abdullah made an affirmation of my claim in my dream. I pray that if this statement of mine, which I have made on oath, is false, then Allah the Almighty might be pleased to bring about my
death in great torment within the lifetime of the progeny of Maulavi ‘Abdullah and his followers and disciples; and if I have told the truth, then God might be pleased to make me prevail and to confound them, or to guide them aright. Maulavi ‘Abdullah’s own words were: ‘You have been
given the sword of heavenly Signs and other reasoning.  When I was in the world I was hoping that God would raise such a person in the world.’ This is the dream that I saw. [Do You O Lord curse him who lies and do You succour him who tells the truth.]””” [Nuzulul-Masih, pp. 236–238, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 18, pp. 614–616](see also the 2009 online english edition of Tadhkirah).

“””That is [Arabic] I shall humiliate him who designs to humiliate you.

This is a grand revelation and prophecy which has been fulfilled in various ways and in respect of diverse nations.  Whoever attempted to bring my Movement into contempt
was himself humiliated and frustrated.””” [Nuzulul-Masih, p. 189, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 18, p. 567](see also the 2009 online english edition of Tadhkirah).

“””I saw that I was standing in the street of a large town and with me was Maulavi ‘Abdullah Ghaznavi and both of us entered a mosque where he had his companions in large numbers and who were strong men, all armed and wearing military uniforms. Maulavi ‘Abdullah also appeared as a young man, very strong, in military uniform, and armed with his sword hanging by his side. I felt that all these people were awaiting some grand command and all of them, except Maulavi ‘Abdullah, were angels equipped and ready for some desperate venture.””””

“”””That sword sent forth shining rays like the rays of the sun. I wielded it to the right and to the left, each time killing thousands of people. On account of its extraordinary length it reached the ends of the earth and worked like lightning traversing thousands of miles in a second. I perceived that the hand that wielded it was mine but the power came from
heaven. Each time I wielded it to the right or the left large numbers of people were cut and fell down.””” [Nuzulul-Masih, pp. 238–239, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 18, pp. 616–617](see also the 2009 online english edition of Tadhkirah).
“””[Arabic] Be grateful to Me that you have found My Khadijah.

This was the good news, several years in advance, of my marriage into a noble family of Sayyeds of Delhi.… [In the revelation] my wife was named Khadijah as she is the mother to a blessed progeny, and a blessed progeny has also been promised to me. It was also an indication that she would be of a Sayyed family.””” [Nuzulul-Masih, pp. 146–147, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 18, pp. 524–525](see also the 2009 online english edition of Tadhkirah).
“””It was the same promise which was set out in surah al- Tahrim [last verse of Chapter 66 of the Holy Qur’an]. In accordance with this promise, it was incumbent that someone from among the
Muslims should be named Mary and through the spiritual process ‘Isa [Jesus] should be born and should be called Son of Mary. I am that person. Mary was commanded: and so was I, the only difference being that Mary was then suffering from physical exhaustion and I was suffering from lack of financial means. “””[Arabic] Allah will clear him of that which they alleged because he has a high standing with Allah.

This is a tremendous Sign that despite the fact that all these people—Maulavi Muhammad Husain on behalf of the Muslims, Lalah Ram Bhaj Dutt on behalf of the Hindus and Dr. Henry Martyn Clark on behalf of the Christians—had combined against me to humiliate me and, together with their supporters, mounted an assault against me, as it happened at the time of Jang-e-Ahzab [the Battle of the Moat], Allah humiliated all of them and established my
innocence. …so that the revelation might be fulfilled:

[Arabic] [Allah cleared him of that which they alleged.]”””

“””It was about 1884 that God vouchsafed to me the revelation:

[Arabic] [I have lived a whole lifetime among you before this, then do you not understand?]

This was an indication on behalf of God the All-Knowing, that no opponent of mine would be able to point to any default in my life.  Accordingly, up till now, when I am about sixty-five years of age, no one, whether living close to me or far from me, can point to any stain in my past life. Indeed God Himself has made my opponents bear witness to the purity of my past life. For instance, Maulavi Muhammad Husain has, on many occasions, praised me and the members of my family in his journal Isha’atus-Sunnah and has claimed that no one is better acquainted with me and my family than him. Then, to the extent that he understood, he praised me. In this way an opponent, who became the originator of my condemnation as a non-believer, has confirmed the truth of this prophecy [I have lived among you…]. [Nuzulul-Masih, p. 212, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 18, p. 590](see also the 2009 online english edition of Tadhkirah).
“””This prophecy was fulfilled as following: At the time of Captain Douglas, I was charged with murder; Allah cleared me of that charge. Then I was charged at the time of Deputy Commissioner Douie, and Allah cleared me of that charge. I was also charged with being ignorant and the opposing maulavis were themselves proven to be ignorant.  Then Mehr ‘Ali charged me with being a plagiarist and he was proven to be so himself.””” [Nuzulul-Masih, p. 131, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 18, p. 509](see also the 2009 online english edition of Tadhkirah).

“”””Epidemics will spread among the people and simultaneously God’s blessings will be promulgated. That will be so because He will safeguard some from this calamity as a Sign
and secondly, these ailments will become a source of spiritual blessings and there would be many who will partake of spiritual blessings in these awe-striking days and will join the truthful movement. That is what actually happened; and many who were bigoted against the
Movement joined it by witnessing the awe-striking event of the plague.”””
[Nuzulul-Masih, p. 20, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 18, p. 398](see also the 2009 online english edition of Tadhkirah).
“””””(C) There are three types of Signs in this revelation. (1) First that this revelation comprises the date of the consecration of this mosque. (2) Second that in it is a prophecy stating that the affairs of a great Community will be settled in this mosque. Accordingly, thousands of people have made their covenant of repentance in this mosque. Hundreds of points relating to the mysteries of the faith are expounded in this mosque. Designs for new publications are settled in this mosque and a large number of Muslims offer the five daily prayers in this mosque and hear sermons and make their sincere heartfelt supplications.  No sign of any of these things existed at the time of its consecration. (3) Third, this revelation indicates that there will be some calamity in future. Whoever will enter this mosque with complete sincerity will be secure against that calamity. Other references in the Barahin-e-Ahmadiyyah prove conclusively that plague is that calamity. Thus, this is a prophecy that whoever enters this mosque with complete devotion
and sincerity, such as is acceptable to God, will be secure against the plague, that is, against death by plague. [Nuzulul-Masih, pp. 147–148, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 18, pp. 525–526](see also the 2009 online english edition of Tadhkirah).
“”””One day before the death of my brother Mirza Ghulam Qadir, I received the revelation:

[Urdu] Funeral.

I informed several people of this revelation. Next day my brother died.””” [Nuzulul-Masih, p. 225, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 18, p. 603](see also the 2009 online english edition of Tadhkirah).

(B) Once I was in great need of fifty rupees and, as sometimes happens in the case of people who voluntarily adopt poverty and put their trust in God, I had nothing with me at the time. When I went out for a walk in the morning, the thought of the need prompted me to make a supplication in the jungle. I withdrew to an isolated place on the bank of the canal at a distance of three miles from Qadian towards Batala and made my supplication there. As soon as I had finished I received a revelation the rendering of which [in Urdu] is:

[Urdu] Observe how soon I accept your supplications.

I returned joyfully to Qadian and went to the post office to find out whether any money had arrived. I received a letter in which it was stated that a person from Ludhiana had dispatched fifty rupees and the amount reached me probably that day or the following day.

“””Ali Muhammad Khan, Navvab of Jhajjar, had started a grain market in Ludhiana. Through the mischief of someone, this market was deserted and he began to incur great loss. Then he turned to me with a request for prayers. But before I received any letter from Navvab [‘Ali Muhammad Khan] for prayer specifically in this matter, I was informed by Allah the Almighty that a letter on the subject would be received by me.””””[Nuzulul-Masih, p. 218, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 18, p. 596](see also the 2009 online english edition of Tadhkirah).
“””In my vision I received his [Navvab ‘Ali Muhammad Khan of Jhajjar’s] second letter in which he had described his great anxiety, thereupon I …prayed for him and I received the revelation:

[Urdu] This obstruction will be removed for a time and he will be relieved of this distress.

I had mentioned this revelation in the letter that I wrote to him which made him wonder still more. This revelation was fulfilled very speedily and within a few days his market flourished in a very good way and the obstruction was removed.”””[Nuzulul-Masih, p. 219, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 18, p. 597](see also the 2009 online english edition of Tadhkirah).
Miyan ‘Abdullah of Sannour, who is a patwari [A village registrar of land] in Patiala State, was pursuing a matter very diligently and had hope of achieving it. He requested me to supplicate for him in that behalf. When I prayed, I instantly received the revelation:

[Persian] How many a desire terminates in dust.

I told him that the object he was pursuing would never be achieved and informed him of the words of the revelation.  It so happened that certain difficulties arose and the object, though within reach, could not be achieved.””””[Nuzulul-Masih, p. 234, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 18, p. 612] (see also the 2009 online english edition of Tadhkirah).

“””(A) In an announcement of March 12, 1897, addressing Sir Sayyed Ahmad Khan the Promised Messiahas said:

That prophecy of mine was also fulfilled in an awe-striking way. On one occasion he suddenly lost one hundred and fifty thousand rupees through the dishonesty of a mischievous person, and was so affected… that for three days he did not eat anything… Once, he even became unconscious.

(B) ‘Towards the end of his life, Sir Sayyed had to bear the heavy bereavement of the death of a grown up son.”””” [Nuzulul-Masih, p. 191, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 18, p. 569](see also the 2009 online english edition of Tadhkirah).

“”””Once an English speaking friend of Maulavi Muhammad Husain named Najaf ‘Ali (who went to Kabul and probably is still there) came to see me. With him was my friend Mirza Khuda Bakhsh.  When we—the three of us—went out for a walk, I saw in a vision that Najaf ‘Ali has made some statements indicating some feelings of opposition and hypocrisy towards me. When I told him about the vision, he admitted that it was so.””” [Nuzulul-Masih, p. 206, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 18, p. 584](see also the 2009 online english edition of Tadhkirah).

“””On one occasion I was travelling by train in the direction of Ludhiana when I received the revelation:

[Persian] Half to you and half to your collaterals.

I was given to understand that Imam Bibi—who was the widow of one of our collaterals—would die and half her land would revert to us and the remaining half would revert to our collaterals.
I communicated this revelation to those of my friends who were with me at that time. And so it happened that the woman died and her land was divided half and half between our collaterals and us.”””[Nuzulul-Masih, pp. 213–214, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 18, pp. 591–592](see also the 2009 online english edition of Tadhkirah).

“”””On one occasion I travelled from Ludhiana to Patiala. Before I set out I received the revelation:

[Urdu] Some loss will be incurred in the course of this journey and some worry and suffering
will be encountered.

I informed my companions of this. Before we set out from Patiala for the return journey, it was time for ‘Asr Prayer and in order to make my ablutions I took off my cloak and handed it to a servant of Sayyed Muhammad Hasan Khan, a minister of the State of Patiala. Thereafter, when the time came to purchase our tickets, I put my hand in my pocket and discovered that the handkerchief in which the money had been folded had fallen out of my pocket. Then I
remembered the revelation that this loss had to be suffered.  After we boarded the train and arrived at the [railway] station of Doraha, a European traveller deliberately misinformed one of my companions that the train had arrived at Ludhiana and we all got out of the train. After
the train left we discovered that it was a different station.  Having detrained at a deserted place we were all put to much trouble. In this way the second part of the revelation was also fulfilled.”””

“”””I had a daughter named ‘Ismat Bibi. Concerning her I received a revelation:

[Arabic] A vine of paradise, a large tree of paradise

from which I understood that she would not live and so it happened.””” [Nuzulul-Masih, p. 215, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 18, p. 593](see also the 2009 online english edition of Tadhkirah).

“””Khalifah Sayyed Muhammad Hasan, Chief Minister of Patiala State, was facing some trouble, anxiety and sadness. I received several requests from him for prayers. It so happened that in one of those days I received the revelation:

[Urdu] The breeze of mercy is blowing.

All your supplications will be accepted today.

On this, I recalled his request and supplicated for him and informed him of this by a letter. Within a short time he was relieved of his trouble and informed me accordingly by a letter.”””

“”””On one occasion I received a letter from Sayyed Muhammad Isma‘il, the brother of my wife (who was at that time ten years old), who wrote from Patiala to the effect that his mother had died and there was no one to look after his younger brother Ishaq. At the end of the letter there was a note that Ishaq had also died and that we should come [to Patiala] immediately. This letter caused me great anxiety, more particularly as my wife had high fever at the time. In this state of anxiety I was overcome by a light slumber and the revelation came:

That is [Arabic] O women! Great are your stratagems.

…From this I understood immediately that this was merely a ruse. Then…I sent my servant Sheikh Hamid ‘Ali to Patiala and on his return he told us that both Ishaq and his mother were alive and safe.””””  [Nuzulul-Masih, pp. 232–233, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 18, pp. 610–611](see also the 2009 online english edition of Tadhkirah).
“”””[Arabic] You will recognise the day of Joy which will beclosest to the day of the ‘Id [Festival].

The Promised Messiahas writes about this verse:

The day and the date of the assassination of Pundit Lekhram were disclosed to me in an Arabic couplet set out in Karamat-us-Sadiqin published widely four years before the event. When Lekhram was assassinated Hindu newspapers raised a great cry with reference to this couplet which was: Wa Bashsharani Rabbi…This great prophecy after being published so widely was fulfilled on March 6, 1897. One unknown person cut open Lekhram’s belly, with a very sharp knife on a Saturday afternoon which was the day next after the day of ‘Id [Festival], in the city of Lahore and disappeared so completely that he has not been traced so far, though he had been staying with Lekhram for quite some time.””””  [Nuzulul-Masih, pp. 182–183, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 18, p. 560](see also the 2009 online english edition of Tadhkirah).

“”””Being a diabetic, I was apprehensive about my eyesight for one of the consequences of diabetes is that eyesight can be affected and cataract can set in. On this account, I supplicated and received the revelation:

That is [Arabic] Mercy will descend upon three, the eye, and two others.

In this revelation, the eye is expressly mentioned and the other two limbs are not specified. It is commonly said that the proper functioning of life requires that the eye, the ear and intelligence should be preserved. The fulfilment of this revelation can be judged from the fact that I have been suffering from diabetes for eighteen years and doctors and physicians know what a threat this disease constitutes for eyesight. Then what is the power which informed me in advance that I would be exempted from the operation of this rule and then proved it accordingly?”””

“”””This revelation was widely published in an announcement of December 21 and within a couple of days all and sundry had been informed that my paper will be acclaimed above all others, and so it happened. In the Conference itself, representatives of other faiths came to the platform and testified to that effect. The Civil and Military Gazette the Punjab Observer January 2–9, 1897. (See Tarikh-e- Ahmadiyyat, volume 2, page 403). Several other papers wrote
emphatically that my paper was the best of all.”””””  [Nuzulul-Masih, p. 195, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 18, p. 573](see also the 2009 online english edition of Tadhkirah).
“”””During the pre-natal stage of my daughter, Mubarakah, there was some concern because of miscalculation [of the expected delivery date]. The anxiety mounted and there was concern that there might be an undiagnosed health problem. I prayed in the court of Allah the Almighty and
was granted the revelation:

[Persian] [The day of deliverance is coming soon.]

It was conveyed to me that a daughter would be born.  Accordingly, a daughter was born on Ramadan 27, 1314 AH and was named Mubarakah.”””  [Nuzulul-Masih, p. 202, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 18, p. 580](see also the 2009 online english edition of Tadhkirah).
“”””One Shia gentleman who called himself by the title of Sheikh Najafi arrived some time ago in Lahore and raised a storm of opposition and demanded a Sign from me. I promised him in my announcement of February 1, 1897, that within forty days God Almighty would show him some Sign. It is a bounty of God that before the expiry of forty days the Sign of the death of Lekhram Peshawari was fulfilled. Thereupon, Sheikh Najafi made haste to disappear from Lahore.””” [Nuzulul-Masih, p. 209, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 18, p. 587](see also the 2009 online english edition of Tadhkirah).

“””Having been informed by God, the All-Knowing and All- Aware, I had disclosed in my announcement of March 12, 1897 that the death of Sir Sayyed Ahmad Khan K.C.S.I. was approaching. I had expressed my regret that I had not had the opportunity of meeting him even once and had invited his attention to the announcement saying that this was the substitute for a meeting. One year after the announcement Sayyed [Ahmad Khan] died.”””  [Nuzulul-Masih, pp. 191–192, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 18, pp. 569–570](see also the 2009 online english edition of Tadhkirah).
“”””In that [which I told the vice-consul] there were two prophesies; (1) Your conduct, as a nation, is not good and you lack the noble attributes of honesty and integrity; and (2) If you do not reform personally you will fare ill and will come to a bad end. I had added in my announcement (by way of a prophecy about the vice-counsel): It would have been better if he had not visited me. It was most unfortunate for him that he spoke ill of me after he had left me. That is why he resented my admonition and reviled me.””””  [Nuzulul-Masih, p. 187, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 18, pp. 565–566

“”””In July 1897 when my friend Mirza Ya‘qub Baig appeared in the final examination for surgery and I supplicated on his behalf, I received the revelation:

[Urdu] You have passed.

This meant that he had passed, for in the case of sincere friends who are so close as to reach the point of unification such phrases are sometimes employed…. Eventually he passed his examination very well.”””  [Nuzulul-Masih, p. 223, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 18, p. 601](see also the 2009 online english edition of Tadhkirah).
“”””This case started in this manner. A man of the name of ‘Abdul-Hamid was incited by the Christians to make a statement before the District Magistrate of Amritsar that he had been sent by me to murder Dr. Henry Martyn Clark a Christian missionary. Thereupon the District Magistrate Amritsar issued a warrant for my arrest. On August 1, hearing this, my opponents gathered at the Batala and Amritsar station platforms and on the roads leading thereto, to witness my disgrace. But by Allah’s grace it so happened that somehow that warrant miscarried and in the meantime the District Magistrate of Amritsar realised his lack of jurisdiction in the case and sent a telegram, on August 6, to the District Magistrate of Gurdaspur that the execution of the warrant should be stopped. This telegram surprised everyone at Gurdsapur as they had received no intimation of any warrant. When the record was received by the District
Magistrate of Gurdaspur he summoned me to his court and treated me with great courtesy, providing me with a chair close to him. The name of this District Magistrate was Captain M. W. Douglas. He was a wise, intelligent and just man and realised immediately that the whole case was false and without foundation, and that is why I have compared him to Pilate at another place, but in his courage and justice he was much better than Pilate. By the further grace of Allah it so happened that ‘Abdul-Hamid himself confessed that he had been put up by the Christians to make his original statement which was entirely false. The District Magistrate,
being convinced of the truth of this, wrote a strong order discharging me and congratulated me with a smile. [Allah be praised for all this.]”””” [Nuzulul-Masih, pp. 198–199, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 18, pp. 576–577](see also the 2009 online english edition of Tadhkirah).
“””(C) One part of this revelation was fulfilled when disagreement arose between our opponents, that is to say, between ‘Abdul-Hamid and those who had put him up, when ‘Abdul-Hamid confessed that he had been tutored by them and had made an utterly false statement. … Another part of the revelation was fulfilled in this manner: Maulavi Muhammad Husain appeared as a witness on behalf of the Christians against me. He was surprised to see that contrary to his expectations I had been granted great honour. Seeing me so honoured he immediately asked for a chair himself but the District Magistrate rebuked him and told him that
he could not be provided a chair. Therefore, it was a divine Sign that what he wished to do to me [humiliation] was inflicted upon himself.””” [Nuzulul-Masih, pp. 199–200, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 18, pp. 577–578](see also the 2009 online english edition of Tadhkirah).
“”””In the beginning of October 1897, I was shown that I had appeared as a witness before an English Judge who asked me the name of my father but did not administer an oath to me, as is customary.”””  [Nuzulul-Masih, p. 221, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 18, pp. 599](see also the 2009 online english edition of Tadhkirah).
“”””Then on October 8, 1897, I saw in a dream that a constable had brought summons for my appearance in Court. I related this dream to the people in the mosque and it happened accordingly. A constable brought summons which showed that the editor of Nazimul-Hind, Lahore, had cited me as a witness in his case…. Accordingly, I went to Multan to make my statement and it so happened that the presiding officer forgot to put me on oath and started
recording my statement.””””  [Nuzulul-Masih, p. 221, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 18, p. 599](see also the 2009 online english edition of Tadhkirah).
“””(B) When this prophecy was published on February 6, 1898, only two districts in the Punjab were affected by the plague. But thereafter twenty-three districts were affected by it. In less than ten months, there were 316,000 cases and 218,799 persons died according to figures published by the Government.”””  [Nuzulul-Masih, pp. 153–154, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 18, pp. 531–532 footnote](see also the 2009 online english edition of Tadhkirah).
“””When the book Ummahatul-Mo’minin was published by the Christians, Anjuman-e-Himayat-e-Islam Lahore, presented a memorial to the Government that the publication of the book should be banned and its author should be prosecuted. I was much opposed to this memorial and had published clearly in my writing that this was not a good way to proceed. But they did not accept my advice; indeed, I was reviled for it. At that time I received a revelation:

[Arabic] You will soon recall my admonition; I commit my cause to Allah.

That is, ‘You will soon recall my words…’ This was an indication that the memorial would fail of its purpose and that I commit to God the way that I had adopted, which was to refute the charges of our opponents and to deal with them. This revelation was communicated to a large number of people and it happened accordingly—that is to say, the request made by the Anjuman was turned down.””””  [Nuzulul-Masih, pp. 225–226, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 18, pp. 603–604](see also the 2009 online english edition of Tadhkirah).
“”””When, based on a motion initiated by my opponents, the government moved to have me assessed to income tax and I filed an objection, I was overcome with a state of vision, while I was sitting in the small mosque with some friends and we were busy compiling a statement of income and expenditure. I was shown that the Hindu Tahsildar of Batala, before whom the matter was pending, had been transferred and his place was taken by a Muslim. Along with this vision there were some indications that presaged my victory. I related this vision immediately to those present—one of whom was Khwajah Jamal-ud-Din,Inspector of Schools, Jammu and Kashmir, and there were many others. Thereafter the Hindu Tahsildar was suddenly transferred and his place was taken by Miyan Taj-ud-Din as Tahsildar of Batala. He made an honest inquiry and sent his report to Mr. Dixon, Deputy Commissioner Gurdaspur. By a happy co-incidence, he too was an intelligent and just official. He recorded an order to the effect that: Mirza Ghulam Ahmad is the head of a well-known sect and I do not have any doubt about his integrity… He accepted my objection and exempted me from any tax and closed the file of the case.”””” [Nuzulul-Masih, pp. 228–229, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 18, pp. 606, 607](see also the 2009 online english edition of Tadhkirah).
“”””When Khwajah Jamal-ud-Din, B. A., who is a member of my Jama‘at, failed in the examination for a judicial appointment, and became a prey to disappointment,
despair, and pain, I received a revelation concerning him:

That is [Arabic] God will remove his grief.

Soon thereafter he was appointed in the State of Jammu and Kashmir to a post which he found better than the judicial post. That is, he was promoted as the Inspector of Schools for the entire State of Jammu and Kashmir.”””  [Nuzulul-Masih, p. 213, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 18, p. 591](see also the 2009 online english edition of Tadhkirah).
“””At one time, the eyes of my son, Bashir Ahmad, gave him great trouble. His eyelashes fell off and water ran constantly from his eyes. Finally, I supplicated on his behalf and received the revelation:

Meaning [Arabic] My boy Bashir’s eyes have recovered.

Within a week God Almighty bestowed healing upon him and his eyes were restored to perfect health. Before that we had tried both the Allopathic and Ayurvedic medicine for several years but none of them did any good and the condition of his eyes had gone on deteriorating.”””

(A) On one occasion, I was in great trouble on account of diabetes. Sometimes I passed water a hundred times in a day. Signs appeared between my shoulder blades which indicated the appearance of a carbuncle. Then, I was occupied in supplication and received the revelation:

Meaning that [Arabic] We call to witness death when it is removed.

This revelation has also been so fulfilled that every second of my life since has been a Sign.”””
[Nuzulul-Masih, p. 235, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 18, p. 613](see also the 2009 online english edition of Tadhkirah).
“””On one occasion the son of Doctor Nur Muhammad, owner of the medicine factory, Hamdam-e-Sihat, fell seriously ill. The boy’s mother was very restless with anxiety. I took pity on her and supplicated for the boy’s recovery, whereupon I received the revelation:

[Urdu] Will recover

I communicated this revelation to those who were then close to me. It happened accordingly that by Allah’s grace, the boy recovered completely.”””  [Nuzulul-Masih, p. 230, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 18, p. 608](see also the 2009 online english edition of Tadhkirah).
“”””(C) When the maulavis were unable to come forward to compete in writing a commentary and Mehr ‘Ali Shah of Golarha had recourse to all kinds of reprehensible devices, God Almighty bestowed upon me the miracle of writing a commentary on my own. I prepared the booklet I‘jazul- Masih in seventy days, though there were several interruptions and, for a good part of the time, I was ill…. During those days, I was vouchsafed a revelation about this book:

Meaning that [Arabic] He has been forbidden by the Forbidder from heaven.

This revelation has been fulfilled so clearly that neither Miyan Mehr ‘Ali nor any of his supporters have been able to write a reply so far.””” [Nuzulul-Masih, p. 224, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 18, p. 602](see also the 2009 online english edition of Tadhkirah).
“”””I had received a revelation relating to my book I‘jazul- Masih:

Meaning that [Arabic] He who, being incensed, sets out to write a reply, will soon find that he is filled with remorse and has come to a sorry end. “”””

[Nuzulul-Masih, pp. 193–194, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 18, pp. 571–572](see also the 2009 online english edition of Tadhkirah).

“””(A) One Muhammad Hasan Faizi of village Bheen, Tahsil Chakwal, District Jhelum, a teacher in the Madrassah Nu‘maniah in the Shahi [Royal] Mosque Lahore, made a public announcement that he would write a reply to my book. After making such a tall claim, when he started compiling his notes and with reference to some of the verities that I had set out in my book he called down the curse of Allah upon liars, he perished soon thereafter. Observe how, having called down a curse upon me, he died an accursed death within a week.”””  [Nuzulul-Masih, p. 194, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 18, p. 572](see also the 2009 online english edition of Tadhkirah).
“””(B) Pir Mehr ‘Ali Shah of Golarha wrote a reply to this book I‘jazul- Masih after a long time in Urdu, but it was proved that even the Urdu text was a verbatim copy of the book of Muhammad Hasan Bheni, and this brought great humiliation upon Mehr ‘Ali Shah. Thus, the revelation was fulfilled in his case also.”””    [Nuzulul-Masih, p. 194, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 18, p. 572](see also the 2009 online english edition of Tadhkirah).
“”””I saw in a vision once that my fourth son Mubarak Ahmad had fallen down near the matting and was seriously hurt.  His shirt was all stained with blood. As Allah’s will would have it, within less than about three minutes I came out of the veranda and saw Mubarak Ahmad, who was just over two years old, standing near the matting. He made a sudden child-like movement and his foot slipped and he fell down and his clothes became bloodstained. This happened exactly as I had seen in my vision.”””  [Nuzulul-Masih, pp. 219–220, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 18, pp. 597–598](see also the 2009 online english edition of Tadhkirah).
“””Once I saw in a dream that my fourth son Mubarak Ahmad had died. Within a few days, he had high fever and lost consciousness eight times. The last time it appeared as if his life had come to an end. I began my supplication on his behalf and while I was so occupied I heard everyone say: ‘Mubarak Ahmad has died’. I placed my hand on him and there was no pulse or breathing and his eyes seemed petrified like those of a corpse. But my supplication brought an extraordinary change and by my putting my hand on him he began to revive and the signs of life
returned. Then I announced in a loud voice to those present: If Jesus son of Mary brought any dead person back to life, it would have been nothing more than this. That is, he would have revived someone near to death like this and not one whose soul might have reached the heavens and conveyed by the Angel of Death to its last resting place.”””  [Nuzulul-Masih, p. 220, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 18, p. 598](see also the 2009 online english edition of Tadhkirah).
“””On one occasion I received the revelation:

[Arabic] Lord show me how do You bring the dead back to life. Lord, forgive and have mercy
from heaven.

This was an intimation that I would have to supplicate in this manner and my supplication would be heard. Thus, my son Mubarak Ahmad became so seriously ill that everybody said he had died. I started my supplication and put my hand on him and he began to breathe again. This revelation has also been fulfilled in this wise that through me, God Almighty has bestowed spiritual life on thousands who were spiritually dead, and continues to do so.”””  [Nuzulul-Masih, pp. 235–236, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 18, pp. 613–614](see also the 2009 online english edition of Tadhkirah).
“””One night I received a revelation as if a third person was addressing me in the following words:

[Arabic] I am running to you with the members of my family.

This revelation was announced to all friends. Accordingly, I received a letter the same day from Khalifah Nur-ud-Din from Jammu that plague had broken out in that city and he wanted permission that he should move to Qadian with all his family members.”””” [Nuzulul-Masih, p. 211, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 18, p. 589](see also the 2009 online english edition of Tadhkirah).
“”””I was once seriously ill and recovery appeared improbable.  In this condition, I received the revelation:

[Arabic] No one can die without Allah’s command and that which benefits people endures in the earth.

Accordingly, God Almighty, of His grace and benevolence, restored me to health when recovery had seemed problematic. It is true that thousands of people recover from serious and even dangerous illnesses, but it is not within the power of man to announce in such a condition
that recovery is certain.””””  [Nuzulul-Masih, p. 221, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 18, p. 599](see also the 2009 online english edition of Tadhkirah).
“””On one occasion his son Mirza Ibrahim Baig, fell ill and he wrote to me requesting me to pray for his son’s recovery. I supplicated for him and saw in a vision that Ibrahim was sitting close to me and said to me: ‘Convey to me greetings from Paradise;’ from which I understood that
his life was about to come to an end. I was reluctant to let his father know, but after much thought I informed Mirza Muhammad Yusuf Baig about this [impending] event and a few days later his grown up, gentle-minded, and obedient son passed away from this world before his eyes.””””  [Nuzulul-Masih, p. 223, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 18, p. 601](see also the 2009 online english edition of Tadhkirah).
“””(A) In those days God Almighty addressed me and said:

Meaning that [Arabic] I shall safeguard all those who dwell in your house from dying of
plague except those who think highly of themselves out of arrogance; and I shall safeguard you particularly. Peace be on you from the Merciful Lord.””””

[Nuzulul-Masih, p. 23, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 18, p. 401](see also the 2009 online english edition of Tadhkirah).
“”””I write another dream, which I saw about the plague, which was as follows: I saw an animal of the height of an elephant, but whose mouth resembled a human mouth and some of whose limbs resembled the limbs of other animals. I saw that it came into existence suddenly through [Allah’s] decree. I was sitting at a place that was surrounded on all sides by a forest in which cattle, donkeys, horses, dogs, swine, wolves, camels etc. abounded. It was conveyed to
me that all these were human beings who had taken on the form of animals on account of their misconduct.

Then I saw that the animal of the size of an elephant, which was a compound of various forms and had emerged solely with Divine decree from the earth, came and sat down near me, facing the north. It had a modest appearance and very shy looks. Every few minutes it would run into
one of the surrounding forests where its entry caused great confusion and terror and it started killing and eating the animals in the forest. I could hear the noise of its crunching the bones. After every raid into the forest it returned to me and sat down close to me, staying for about ten minutes.  Then it raided another forest where its action was repeated and, at the end of it, returned to me. Its eyes were very large and I studied it carefully each time it came back to me. It conveyed to me, by the expression of its face, that it was helpless in the matter and that it was only carrying out a task that had been assigned to it. It appeared to me to be a gentle and pious creature who did nothing on its own account, but only that which it was commanded to do.

Then it was conveyed to me that this animal was the plague and was the [germ out of the earth], mentioned in the Holy Qur’an, which would be sent in the latter days and it would bite people because they did not believe in God’s Signs …. The germ of the earth, mentioned in these verses, was destined to appear in the time of the Promised Messiah. It was further conveyed to me that this animal combining the features of many animals, which I had seen in my dream, was the germ of the plague. God had named it [germ of the earth] as this malady originates with the germs of the earth and is propagated by them and it first affects rats and then spreads
in different ways. Just as humans are affected by it, so can all other animals. That is why in my vision I saw it in different shapes.””””” [Nuzulul-Masih, pp. 37–39, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 18, pp. 415–417](see also the 2009 online english edition of Tadhkirah).

Response to the Book Saif-i-Chishtiai : pp. 53-99

“”””I received this book by mail on July 1, 1902. Presumably, Peer Mehr Ali Shah has sent it with the intention to notify me that he has responded to my book Ijaz-ul-Masih, and also to Shams-i-Bazigha”””

“”””Now listen carefully to the criticism that Peer Sahib saying that the book Ijaz-ul-Masih which is a 200 page book; contains few sentences which will not be more that 4 lines if combined, some of these sentences are stolen from Maqamat al-Hareeri, some from Quran and some are stolen from other books. And some are written with some changes and some are popular Arabic phrases.

This is my theft that Peer Sahib has caught that out of 20,000 sentences 10/12 sentences; the sentences which are verse of Quran or Arabic phrase or according to him””””

“”””””from Hareeri or Hamadhani’s sentences. Sorry that he did not feel any shame raising these objections. He did not consider a bit that those little and 2/4 sentences should not be considered copying, as authors’ writings do contain such things, and these few sentences should be taken as quotes, then how can there be any objection? Hariri’s own book contains many Quranic verses as quotes. Similarly some unchanged sentences and verses (poetry) from others are found therein and some sentences from Abu Fazal Badi-uz-Zaman are found as is. So shall we form an opinion that all of Maqamat al-Hareeri is plagiarized? Some have doubted to the extent that Hareeri’s entire book was authored by someone else. And some say: once he was summoned before an Ameer/King and introduced as master of the pen. To test him, he was ordered to write something in perfect Arabic which he could not and that incident caused him a lot of embarrassment, yet he was well respected among authors and his Maqamat al-Hareeri is viewed with respect though that cannot be used in matters of faith or education because Hareeri is incapable of writing a true or real incident or hidden meaning of inspirations and prove that he can master the words to express a meaning or thought.”””””

“””””Why the one who is unable to write in response says that there are sentences in the book that are stolen (plagiarized)? If such (writing) is possible by stealing, why is he not coming to face it and why is he running around like a fox. O stupid one, first prove your Arabic skills by writing an exegesis then your criticism will be given some attention. Otherwise criticizing me and accusing me of stealing and pointing out grammatical mistakes, without proving your Arabic language skills is only like eating excrement. O ignorant, shameless, first write an exegesis of a Surah in perfect Arabic, then you will have the right to point out my mistakes or declare it stolen (plagiarized) “”””

List of Prophecies : pp. 118-242

Here, Mirza Ghulam Ahmad presents a list of ‘prophecies’ in a tabular form, with numbering, the ‘revelation’ he received, and how it was fulfilled:

No. Revelation Fulfilment
1 1874: Around the time of the death of his father: ‘Sky and the morning star’, ‘is not Allah sufficient for his servant?’ (both Quranic expressions) After his father’s death, he received fame and more than 1,000,000 rupees sent by his followers through the post office.
2 1880-1882: Several Quranic and pseudo-Quranic phrases meaning people will come from far-off areas, and help is near. He has a lot of followers, and the road to Qadian has been broken many times due to the frequency of horse-drawn carriages travelling on it.
3 1880-1882: psuedo-Quranic: ‘don’t turn your face away from the creation of Allah, and do not get tired of people’ Many people are coming to see him.
4 1880-1882: ‘people of Suffa, who are the people of Suffa’ Many people have migrated to Qadian and guest-houses and ‘suffa’ had to be made for them.
5 1880-1882: ‘your forefathers will be cut off, and will start from you’ His fame has spread more than that of his family
6 1880-1882: ‘I desired to be succeeded, so I made Adam’ Quranic: ‘I have made in the earth a successor . . . shed blood. . . . know not.’ He was the Adam. The blood refers to the murder cases against him. Adam was twin – first male, and then female, I was born twin – first female then male – which denotes the symmetrical end of time. I am spiritually without father (teacher) or mother (family of prophets). Jesus’ similarity with Adam (Quranic) is not complete, whereas my similarity is complete.
7 ‘and when they see a sign, they walk away and say it is magic . . . . ‘ He says that since this Quranic verse is from Surah Al-Qamar and is related to the incident of the ‘splitting of the moon’, therefore it is related to the eclipses

MGA’s editors add the word knife to the Lekh Ram prophecy
We all know that this entire book is an edit-job by Ahmadiyya mullahs. We have noticed that they claim that when MGA initially wrote the Lekh ram prophecy he wrote that Lekh Ram would die via a knife.  This is a lie, MGA never wrote any such thing.  See the scan in the below:

Atif Mian’s conversion to Ahmadiyya story

We wanted to post the official conversion story of Atif Mian.  He doesn’t give lots of details however, he seems to have gotten disgusted with Islam after the attacks of 9-11-01, and then converted to Ahmadiyya in haste.  We have copy and pasted the story from ““”””By the Dawn’s Early Light: Short Stories by American Converts to Islam By the Dawn’s Early Light: Short Stories by American Converts to Islam First published in the United States of America in 2009 Published by: Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya USA An Auxiliary of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community 15000 Good Hope Road Silver Spring, Maryland 20905 USA””” (see page 90).

Atif Mian doesn’t give any proper reason for leaving Islam.  He has been totally silent on Jesus in India, the eclipses and many other classic irregularities with Ahmadiyya.  Just like Dr. Salam.

"The greatest gift of Ahmadiyya teachings is that they
introduce you to the true concept and reality of God."

I was born in Nigeria in 1974 but grew up mostly in Pakistan. Looking back
at my life, I have to admit that I have been extremely fortunate in many ways.
I had the most loving and caring parents who sacrificed a lot for the education
and proper upbringing of their children. I was the youngest in my family, with
three older sisters. So you can say I was spoiled once by my mother and three
times by my sisters.

I would describe our household as moderately religious. My mother
constantly taught me the value of good morals. I remember having a sense
from a fairly young age that I was expected to do the "right thing," i.e. tell the
truth, respect elders, not be extravagant, and so on. My parents paid great
attention towards their children's education. They commuted long distances
for six years just so we could go to school in Lahore where education standards
were higher.

When I was finishing my high school, my father encouraged me to apply
to the U.S. for college. Luckily I got admitted to MIT and joined there in the
fall of 1993 as a freshman. Life at MIT was quite difficult in the beginning.
Classes were tough, language was a bit foreign, and culture was very different.
There were adjustments to be made at many levels. It was perhaps the result
of exposure to alternative ways of life, or perhaps the natural consequence of a
maturing mind that I began to ponder seriously about the pre-suppositions of
life that a child grows up with.

I had been raised as a Muslim with a strong emphasis on the belief in God.
I had never questioned what I had been taught thus far, but this now turned out

Short Stories by American Converts to Islam 91

to be an uneasy compromise. Should I believe in Islam simply because fate had
me born into a Muslim family? Why should one take religion seriously when
its primary determinant seems to be the flip of a coin that decides which family
one is born into? Why should one put so many constraints on life because of a
God that may or may not exist?

The questions were many, but I struggled with finding acceptable answers.
At the same time the conventional understanding of Islam seemed more and
more intolerant and irrational to me. Muslims who advocated on behalf of
Islam enthusiastically split hairs when it came to religious dogma, and yet
seemed oblivious to the basic tenets of justice, tolerance and human civility.
For example, otherwise sane looking people would actively support the idea
that anyone who chooses to leave Islam should be condemned to death. I was
beginning to be put off by religion.

It was around these early years in college when I found out that an old
friend of mine from high school, Hamid Sheikh, was an Ahmadi Muslim. I
had known him for over eight years but never knew that he was an Ahmadi
Muslim. My impression of Ahmadi Muslims at that time was quite negative,
formed largely by the general social attitude towards Ahmadi Muslims in
Pakistan. In my mind Ahmadiyya Community was some weird cult devoid of
common sense. Therefore, when I found out that a good friend of mine was an
Ahmadi Muslim, I was quite surprised.

At this point, however, I was less interested in the finer details of differences
between Ahmadiyya Islam and Sunni Islam teachings. I had enough trouble
trying to understand religion at a basic level and did not care much about
complicated sectarian discussions. So I badgered Hamid with some general
questions about God, religion and the purpose of man's creation. We had
some discussions, and Hamid gave me two books to read: Islam's Response to
Contemporary Issues by the Fourth Khalifa, and his biography, A Man of God.

I had been searching for a logical and humane approach towards religion
but was disappointed with what I had found thus far. However, reading Islam's
Response to Contemporary Issues was a totally refreshing experience. I was not
yet ready to say that I believed in a particular religion, but I remember saying
to myself after reading the book that if there ever were a religion worthy of
following, it must look like the one described in that book.

I loved the way the Fourth Khalifa approached religion. He spoke with
the precision of a scientist. He always began with "first principles" and then
gradually built his case through the rules of logic. There was also a deep sense

of love, compassion and humanity in whatever he wrote or said. It is hard to
express it in words, but I fell totally in love with his personality.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community began to provide me with the
answers that I had been searching for. But conviction of the heart and mind are
two separate issues. There were always more questions that I could have asked.
At what point do I draw the line between skepticism and belief?

I did not know the answer to this question. I was also perturbed by the
idea of praying for myself. How could I do that if I were not willing to call
myself a believer? Wouldn't that be hypocritical? Even selfish perhaps? And
then there was the chicken and the egg problem. If one needs to have faith to
pray sincerely, and must pray sincerely to have faith, where should I begin?

My solution to these conundrums was that I could only pray to a possible
God. I would pray that if You are truly there then guide me to what is right
and what is true. In my heart I already had the suspicion that the truth might
be Ahmadiyya. Therefore, afraid that I might stay away from it because of the
social sanctions against it, I would add that I was willing to pay whatever price
it took to find and accept the truth.

Over the next few years, I continued to read whatever I could on Islam
Ahmadiyya. I did not discuss this much with others. I preferred to study on my
own instead. The web was a great tool for me., the Community's
website, was just beginning to develop and I must have been one of its most
voracious consumers at the time. My greatest attractions were the "Q&A"
sessions conducted by the Fourth Khalifa, as well as his sermons. I could spend
hours listening to him.

While I found the message of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community very
attractive, I was extremely repulsed by the attitude of orthodox clerics towards
the Community. How could they lose all sense of humanity and prevent Ahmadi
Muslims from practicing their faith in Pakistan? How could man become
arrogant enough to decide who is a Muslim and who is not, as a matter of law?
It was because of such attitudes of orthodox clerics that I never took them
seriously in their allegations against the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.

After finishing my undergraduate education at MIT, I decided to pursue a
doctorate in Economics, also at MIT. I finished my PhD in 2001 and moved to
Chicago to start my first job as an Assistant Professor at University of Chicago.
While I was in Boston, I had stopped going to the local mosque for a long
time because I could not pray behind an Imam who condoned an intolerant
interpretation of Islam. There was an Ahmadiyya mosque near Boston but it

was far and I did not have a car. So now that I had a car in Chicago, I thought I
should look for an Ahmadiyya Muslim mosque.

Once I found the local Ahmadiyya Muslim mosque in Chicago, I began
going for Friday prayers. I might have done so for the rest of my life without
becoming an Ahmadi Muslim. I had already acknowledged that the Ahmadiyya
interpretation of Islam was the only one that made sense. Why then go through
the hassle of conversion and all the social conflicts that come along with it?
After all, what is the line beyond which one says, "I believe"? The human mind
is a specialist when it comes to making excuses.

However something changed in March of 2002. 1 cannot say how and why.
The Holy Prophet Muhammad said that the key to a person's heart is in Allah's
hands. So one day Allah changed my heart. There is no other explanation for
it. I felt a strong desire that I must sign the initiation form. I had to do it. There
was no other option for me anymore. Like a kid in the candy store, I had to
have it.

My parents were quite unhappy at my decision to become an Ahmadi
Muslim. This trial has been the most difficult for me since the last thing I ever
wanted to do was to upset my parents in their old age. It is all the more difficult
given how much they have done for me. But life ultimately owes its existence
to God, and I pray that we may all find peace in Him.

While there are sacrifices in the path of a convert, these are overshadowed
by the fact that man at his core is a moral being. There is nothing more rewarding
than being truthful to one's conscience. The greatest gift of Ahmadiyya teachings
is that they introduce you to the true concept and reality of God. Everything
that is pure and good is to be found in God. Therefore one can never be truly
spiritual unless one tries to get closer to God by developing attributes that are
in His likeness: developing compassion for humanity, being sincere, treating
everyone with absolute justice, and saying the truth even when it may have
negative immediate consequences. When one struggles to become better only
to attain closeness to God, God never leaves such a person alone. This is the
ultimate lesson of Islam Ahmadiyya and the ultimate gift for a convert.

I have been fortunate to serve the Community in various capacities. One
of my greatest joys has been the many friendships that I have formed through
MKA. I have had the privilege of meeting many remarkable individuals whose
sincerity, desire to serve humanity, and selfless dedication to work tirelessly
for the good of others, leaves me awestruck. At a time when religion has been
distorted to create mayhem in many parts of the world, the Ahmadiyya Muslim
Community provides a true picture of what Islam is supposed to be.
