Intro
In “Life of Ahmad” (english, 1947) by Dard, his name is written as Babu Ilahi Bakhsh and he is referred to as an accountant. He could also be called as Munshi Ilahi Bakhsh Accountant , he was born roughly around 1850. He belonged to DG Khan and moved to Lahore due to his government service with the Accountant General Office in British India. He had deep affection with the religion of Islam which led him to get the knowledge of Quraan o Hadith. He became a student and disciple of famous scholar and spiritual leader of Amritsar, Syed Abdullah Ghaznavi. After the death of Syed Abdullah Ghaznavi (1881), his aspiration for the service of Islam took him to Mirza Ghulam Qadiani who, at that time, claimed to be in the field to challenge the christian missionaries and Ariya samajis via the announcement of the Barahin-i-Ahmadiyya.

In the below, we have summarized his (Babu Ilahi Bakhsh’s) book “Asai Moosa”‘(or spelled as Asa‘-e-Musa) in 1899. This is a 455 pages book which contains his correspondence with Mirza, all of his Ilham particularly about the lies of Mirza, and the failed Ilham of Mirza Ghulam Qadiani. Ilahi Bakhsh has published his replies and comments in the light of Quraan and hadith to the points Mirza sahib raised in his book Zaruratul Imam (1898). This book was mentioned in the ROR of Dec-1943. His name is written as Munshi ilahi Bakhsh. ilahi Bakhsh accused MGA and his family of being poor people (paupers) and those who sold out for a few coins. MGA tells ilahi Bakhsh to go and look at the Punjab Chiefs, however, Mirza Ghulam Murtaza lied to Lepel Griffin therein.

Ilahi Bakhsh met Mirza Ghulam Qadiani as early as in 1884. He says he joined Mirza when no-one from his present day,s friends were around. He spent generously towards the publishing of Baraheen Ahmadiyya third edition and other books of Mirza Ghulam Qadiani just for the sake of Islam. Ilahi Bakhsh Accountant died in April 1907.

1888-1889

FAILED PROPHESY OF MIRZA REGARDING BIRTH OF SON TO RISALDAR MAJOR AGAINST THE TRIBUTE OF Rs.500/-

Ilahi Bakhsh states that he had a signed letter of Mirza Qadiani he wrote to one of his friends, Risaldar Major Syed Amir Shah wherein Mirza had promised that in a period from 15 August 1888 to 15 August 1889 he would pray in his pure times sincerely and humbly for the birth of son to the house of Risaldar Major. He would receive this glade tiding in one year which he may publish in any magazine or newspaper.

If he could not get a glade-tiding or the glade-tiding is proved wrong in the fixed time, then Risaldar Major sahib would be at liberty to get hold of him from flap or call him a liar of whatever kind he likes. However, contrary to the promise of Mirza, no such glad-tiding was received nor a son was born to him despite lapse of one year and despite the fact that Risaldar Major Sahib had paid the tribute money of Rs.500/- in advance.

HIS ROYA AND INSPIRATIONS ABOUT MIRZA GHULAM

In around 1890 onwards, he started watching dreams and inspirations, from God that Mirza Ghulam Qadiani was a liar upon God in his claims and extravagant (Muftari and Musrif).

1898In September, 1898, He went to Qadian, on the invitation of Mirza Ghulam Qadiani and related his Ilham to him in seclusion. He also informed Mirza that he does not need an Imam like him rather Mirza may take Baiyat at his hand.PUBLICATION OF ZARURATUL IMAM
In October, 1898, Mirza Ghulam published Zaruratul Imam, a 50 Paged book, Mirza claimed to have completed authoring of this book in 1 -1/2 days. This was in response to the inspiration of Ilahi Bakhsh Accountant. In this booklet Mirza insisted that Imamat is the important institution in Islam and he is the Imam e Zaman (divinely appointed Leader of the time). Mirza sahib warned Ilahi Bakhsh that his Ilham may lead him to the wrong path. He also told him that his Jamaat have many peoples receiving such ilhams. So he must pledge baiyat to him.
It is however, strange to see that Mirza Sahib has added the story of his Income Tax case to this booklet which he claimed a sign of his truthfulness but it does not match to the topic of the book.

1899
HIS CORRESPONDENCE WITH MIRZA GHULAM QADIANI
The correspondence between Mirza and Ilahi Bakhsh began indirectly through Shaikh Hamid Ali and Hafiz Muhammad Yusuf Deputy Collector Irrigation Department in April 1899.

Ilahi Bakhsh did not want to publish his inspirations against Mirza. He wrote to him and sought his consent. Mirza replied to him to publish these Ilham subject to the condition that Ilahi Bakhsh would give an oath that these inspirations are from Allah and he is truthful in reporting these inspirations and that Allah punish him if he add something fabricated in it. Moreover Ilahi Bakhsh should give his name address and designation on it. Ilahi Bakhsh however objected to the conditions attached by Mirza.

PUBLICATION OF “ASAI MOOSA”

Ilahi Bakhsh published his book “Asai Moosa” in 1899. ILHAM OF A BLIND HAFIZ QURAN AGAINST THE ILHAM OF MIRZA
Ilahi Bakhsh quoted many failed ilham of Mirza Ghulam Qadiani in his book. Like birth of Masleh Maoud, Athem,s death, Ilham about Mir Abbas Ali Ludhianvi etc. He narrated that when in Amritsar, Mirza Ghulam Qadiani told his ilham to Athem of his death, one blind Hafiz Quraan who had reverted to Islam from Christianity, has published Ishtihar challenging Mirza that Athem will not die in the time line fixed by him. It was so happened that Athem did not die in the dead line as set by Mirza. Ilahi Bakhsh states that It is amazing fact the Blind hafiz was a common man and did not have any claim of piety or divine guidance, had proved right against Mirza who had all the claims of being divinely appointed, Imam e Zaman etc.
VERSE “ISMUHU AHMAD” DOES NOT MEAN GHULAM AHMAD QADIANI

Ilahi Bakhsh has criticised Mirza and his Jamaat for claiming the verse “ISMUHU AHMAD” revealed to mean Ghulam Ahmad. He said this verse mentions our holy prophet Muhammad peace be upon him.

MIRZA QADIANI’S CRITICISM ON PROPHETS OF ALLAH, SAHABA AND HOLY PROPHET PBUH

Ilahi Bakhsh has replied to Mirza Qadiani’s criticism on prophets a.s Sahaba r.a. and holy prophet pbuh in his book.He also stated that Jesus was not crucified but raised up to heavens.

COMMENTS ON INCOME TAX CASE

ilahi Bakhsh has commented on income tax case against Mirza as narrated by him in Zaruratul Imam. He says getting exemption of income tax and withdrawal of income tax case is a routine matter in tax department. There are some 5000 peoples who every years, are summoned by tax authorities but are given exemption after scrutiny. So it may not be a divine sign otherwise for rest of 5000 people we would have to accept similar sign. He said Mirza sahib mortgaged his garden to his wife Nusrat Jehan against gold jewellery worth Rs4000/- and cash Rs.1000/-, a question arises as to how did she purchase this much jewellery, because she did not own such great quantity of jewellery at the time of marriage. Moreover, her property also belong to Mirza sahib so why he did all this expenditure on mortgaged deed.

CONCLUSION
Friends Munshi Ilahi Bakhsh, Accountant, Munshi Abdul Haq and Mir Abbas Ludhianvi were all very old and close friends of Mirza. They all advanced big charity money to Mirza sahib with their open hearts and Mirza appreciated them very much. When they saw the real character of Mirza, they all left him to seek refuge in Islam. But Mirza and his Jamaat did character assassination of these people after they reverted to Islam. Munshi Ilahi Bakhsh Accountant was however, the man who replied to Mirza in a befitting manner through his book and he got him exposed before common men.

Maulvi Abdul Kareem is mentioned in the ROR of Dec-1943 in terms of Hafiz Muhammad Yusuf. In 1901, Hafiz Muhammad Yusuf had told MGA that Maulvi Abdul Kareem had put forward the absurd claim that MGA=Muhammad (saw)(astagfarullah). MGA counter argues in Malfuzat that he had been saying this the early 1880’s and via the Barahin series (1-4 only) and Muslims like Maulvi Nazir Ahmad of Delhi had praised this book. MGA alleges that Munshi Abdul Haq and Babu Muhammad (aka ilahi Bakhsh) also witnessed this. MGA also mentioned Nawab Siddiq Hassan Khan.
