In Tarikh-i-Ahmadiyya Volume 11, Dost Muhammad Shahid (ahmadiyya official historian) states that before selecting Rabwah to be the Ahmadiyya Markaz in Pakistan, Khalifa II Mirza Mahmoud Ahmad considered some other places for the reception of Ahmadi migrants from India. On 18 October 1947, Mirza Mahmood Ahmad (the Qadiani Khalifa) went on a journey to Sargodha, along with some of his companions, to inspect the land which later was to be known by the name of Rabwah. Members of his team were Mirza Bashir Ahmad, Nawab Muhammed Din, Moulvi Abdul Raheem Dard, Ch Asad Ullah Khan, Rajah Ali Muhammad Sahib, Sheikh Muhammad Din Sahib. The journey towards Sargodha to inspect the land started on 18 October 1947. These statements were made by the 2nd Khalifa on Sep-10-1948.
The Khalifa had presented Nankana Sahib which is the sacred place of Sikh Community was one of the option to build the new Ahmadiyya headquarters. Mirza Mahmoud stated that we might acquire land around Nankana Sahib so that Sikhs may realize, if they attack Qadian which is Ahmadiyya Markaz, Ahmadis would attack Nankana Sahib. When he talked to the British Government Officers and they denied to lease such land. It should be noted that the 2nd Khalifa repeatedly claimed that he would move back to Qadian, and even made a prophecy.
