Intro
Zulfiqar Ali Khan Gohar was the elder brother of Shaukat Ali and Muhammad Ali Jauhar (See the Ahmadiyya Magazine of Majlis Ansarullah UK, “Ansaruddin” of Jan-Feb-2007, see scans in the below). These are the famous Ali brothers who started the Khilafat Movement. They were Yusuf-Zai-Pathans. They were all secretly Ahmadi! They were the sons of the Ahmadi woman Abdi Bano Begum. His father is also from Rampur and his name was Majid Abdul Ali, another semi-famous relative was Abdul Ali Khan sahib (See “Ansaruddin” of Jan-Feb-2007).

In 1869, Maulvi Zulfiqar Ali Khan Gohar was born in Rampur (See “Ansaruddin” of Jan-Feb-2007).

In the 1870’s-1880’s, Ahmadiyya sources allege that Maulvi Zulfiqar Ali Khan Gohar was sent to Bareilly, India for education and then to the Aligarh College (See “Ansaruddin” of Jan-Feb-2007). Ahmadiyya sources allege that Maulvi Zulfiqar Ali Khan Gohar saw a letter of MGA published in the “Riaz e Haqiqat” newspaper addressing Alexander Webb and allegedly accepted Ahmadiyya in his heart.

In 1894-1895, Maulvi Zulfiqar Ali Khan Gohar began working as a tax collector for the British Government (See “Ansaruddin” of Jan-Feb-2007).

In 1900, Ahmadiyya sources allege that Maulvi Zulfiqar Ali Khan Gohar converted to Ahmadiyya via letters. Zulfiqar Ali Khan Gohar was working as a Tehsildar in a small village called Bhogaon or Bhongaon. This appointment seems to have been connected to his joining the Ahmadiyya Movement, since the Ahmadi was also a tax collector (See “Ansaruddin” of Jan-Feb-2007).

In 1904, Ahmadiyya sources allege that he was there in Gurdaspur in 1904 for MGA vs. Karam ud Din. It is strange that his brothers didn’t convert to Ahmadiyya. He seems to have given MGA paan.

in 1920, Ahmadiyya sources allege that he moved to Qadian permanently and began working as “Amoor-e-Aama” and then later as “Nazir-e-Ala” (See “Ansaruddin” of Jan-Feb-2007)(See also Kalam-e-Gohar).

In 1921, Maulvi Zulfiqar Ali Khan Gohar met with Lord Reading as an official member of the Ahmadiyya Community (See “Ansaruddin” of Jan-Feb-2007)(See also Kalam-e-Gohar).

In 1922, Maulvi Zulfiqar Ali Khan Gohar presented a gift to the Prince of Wales (See “Ansaruddin” of Jan-Feb-2007) as an official member of the Ahmadiyya Community.

In 1924, he travelled with the 2nd Khalifa to London.

In 1925, Maulvi Zulfiqar Ali Khan Gohar attended the All Muslim Conference as an official member of the Ahmadiyya Community (See “Ansaruddin” of Jan-Feb-2007)(See also Kalam-e-Gohar).

In 1927, Maulvi Zulfiqar Ali Khan Gohar attended the annual gathering of the Muslim League. He also attended the All Muslim Conference (See “Ansaruddin” of Jan-Feb-2007)(See also Kalam-e-Gohar).

In 1928, Maulvi Zulfiqar Ali Khan Gohar was part of the Ahmadiyya delegation that met with the Simon Commission (See “Ansaruddin” of Jan-Feb-2007)(See also Kalam-e-Gohar).

From 1930 to 1935, he moved back to Rampur and worked for the government therein and allegedly with the approval of the 2nd Qadiani-Ahmadi Khalifa (See “Ansaruddin” of Jan-Feb-2007)(See also the Al-Fazl of Aug-16-1930).

In 1931, his son, Muhammad Ali Jauhar died of a stroke in London on 4 January and was buried in Jerusalem by the choice of his relatives, friends and admirers (a photo of his death procession is posted in the ROR of Feb-1931). The inscription on his grave in the Khātūniyya Madrasa, which is near the Dome of the Rock, says: “Here lies al-Sayyid Muhammad Ali al-Hindi”. On the orders of Huzoor, nazarat umur-e-kharjia (the Jamaat’s directorate for foreign affairs) had sent a telegram expressing condolences to Maulvi Shaukat Ali, the brother of Maulana Muhammad Ali Jauhar. The Al Fazl newspaper wrote a note on the demise of this Muslim leader and paid tribute to his scholarly contributions (Tarikh-e-Ahmadiyyat, Vol. 5, p. 311).

In 1938, another one of his sons, Shaukat Ali died.

In 1947, Maulvi Zulfiqar Ali Khan Gohar moved to Lahore, Pakistan and later to Rabwah.

in 1954, Maulvi Zulfiqar Ali Khan Gohar died on 26 February. He had 4 wives and 14 children. He has 2 famous son‘s, his other children aren’t known, only a few have been tracked.
