Intro
Ever since 1924-26, the Qadiani-Ahmadi’s have been believing that (see page 320, online English edition) 17:104 of the Quran (17:105 in the Qadiani Quran). The 2nd Qadiani-Ahmadi Khalifa made up a false revelation of MGA and connected it to this verse of the Quran. The 2nd Qadiani-Ahmadi Khalifa then argued that this revelation of MGA prophesied that an influx of Jewish immigrants, like a mass influx would happen (aka creation of the modern state of Israel). He claimed that the word “wada” (promise) was actually a promise of the 2nd coming of Eisa (as) and was fulfilled via MGA (astagfarullah). It should be noted that not even Maulvi Muhammad Ali wrote like the Qadiani’s in his famous Kufri commentary of 1917.

In reality, 17:104 of the Quran simply means that all people will be gathered on the Day of Judgement. Even Ibn Abbas wrote in his famous commentary that this verse refers to the afterlife and just before it and after the descent of Eisa (as).

“”Therefore in verse 17:104 the warning of the latter days relates to the period after the second coming of Jesus. The words ‘shall bring you together’ refer to the present influx of Jews [written 1924] into Palestine. Jews from different countries are offered facilities of travel and rehabilitation. The revelation of the Promised Messiah said, ‘I will relieve the children of Israel.’ This indicated a great change in the position of the Jews. It indicated the end of the opposition which nations of the world had made for so long to an independent home for the Jews.”””

* تفسير Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs

{ وَقُلْنَا مِن بَعْدِهِ لِبَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ ٱسْكُنُواْ ٱلأَرْضَ فَإِذَا جَآءَ وَعْدُ ٱلآخِرَةِ جِئْنَا بِكُمْ لَفِيفاً }

(And We said unto the Children of Israel after him) after his destruction: (Dwell in the land) the land of Jordan and Palestine; (but when the promise of the Hereafter) when resurrection after death; and it is also said that this means: when Jesus son of Mary descends (cometh to pass we shall bring you as a crowd gathered out of various nations.)

The Destruction of Fir`awn and His People

﴿ فَأَرَادَ أَن يَسۡتَفِزَّهُم مِّنَ ٱلۡأَرۡضِ ﴾

(So he resolved to turn them out of the land.) means, he wanted to expel them and drive them out.

﴿ فَأَغۡرَقۡنَـٰهُ وَمَن مَّعَهُ ۥ جَمِيعً۬ا • وَقُلۡنَا مِنۢ بَعۡدِهِۦ لِبَنِىٓ إِسۡرَٲٓءِيلَ ٱسۡكُنُواْ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ ﴾

(But We drowned him and all who were with him. And We said to the Children of Israel after him: “Dwell in the land…”) This is good news for Muhammad, a foretelling of the conquest of Makkah, even though this Surah was revealed in Makkah before the Hijrah. Similarly, the people of Makkah wanted to expel the Prophet from the city, as Allah says in two Ayat:

﴿ وَإِن ڪَادُواْ لَيَسۡتَفِزُّونَكَ مِنَ ٱلۡأَرۡضِ لِيُخۡرِجُوكَ مِنۡهَا‌ۖ ﴾

(And verily, they were about to frighten you so much as to drive you out from the land…) (17:76-77) Hence Allah caused His Messenger to inherit Makkah, so he entered it by force, according to the better-known of the two opinions, and he defeated its people then out of kindness and generosity, he let them go, just as Allah caused the Children of Israel, who had been oppressed, to inherit the land, east and west, and to inherit the land of Fir`awn’s people, with its farmland, crops and treasures. As Allah said,

﴿ كَذَٲلِكَ وَأَوۡرَثۡنَـٰهَا بَنِىٓ إِسۡرَٲٓءِيلَ ﴾

(thus We caused the Children of Israel to inherit them. ) (26:59). Here Allah says:

﴿ وَقُلۡنَا مِنۢ بَعۡدِهِۦ لِبَنِىٓ إِسۡرَٲٓءِيلَ ٱسۡكُنُواْ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ فَإِذَا جَآءَ وَعۡدُ ٱلۡأَخِرَةِ جِئۡنَا بِكُمۡ لَفِيفً۬ا ﴾

(And We said to the Children of Israel after him: “Dwell in the land, then, when the final and the last promise comes near, we shall bring you altogether as mixed crowd.”) meaning, all of you, you and your enemies. Ibn `Abbas, Qatadah and Ad-Dahhak said, “It means all together.”
