Intro
In 2002-2003, Mirza Tahir Ahmad (the 4th Qadiani Khalifa) was asked if chanda should be paid from gross or net. Mirza Tahir Ahmad emphatically said via gross (before taxes) and also alleged that there was an Ahmadi family in Canada which fell on tough times (couldn’t find a job) and took loans to pay chanda (See the clip on TikTok, Twitter and youtube, 13:46 time stamp), they were soon given the money back in the form of a new job. Mirza Tahir Ahmad encouraged this type of behavior and gave it an example of what an Ahmadi should do. Mirza Tahir Ahmad also said that the Ahmadi’s who want to pay net instead of gross are making excuses as a result of their person shortcomings. Mirza Tahir Ahmad also said that Ahmadi’s need to pay as much chanda as possible, they will be “barkat” (blessings) from it.
