In the Al-Hakam of 1900 (Al-Hakam, vol. 4, no. 3, dated 24 January 1900, pp. 1-6, via Malfuzat-2, online english edition, page 183). The Qadiani-Ahmadi’s purposely mistranslated this quote.
There is a strange story in this about Maulvi Abdul Karim and Mirza Ghulam Ahmad. In this story, Maulvi Abdul Karim tells the world that he fell asleep and woke up to find Mirza Ghulam Ahmad sleeping under his bed (charpai). Why was MGA there? It seems like a sexual situation. This is also quoted in Sirat Hadrat Masih-e-Mau‘ud.

After a nap when Abdul Karim woke up, he saw Mirza Ghulam Qadiani laying under the bed. Abdul Karim stood up in respect. Mirza Ghulam Qadiani asked with affection why you stood up, I was guarding you. Kids were making noise, I was stopping them to avoid disturbance in your sleep.

On one occasion, there was a traditional indian-style bedstead (charpoy) in the new house on which Maulvi Abdul-Karim Sahib was sleeping. MGA was strolling there as well. After some time, when he awoke, MGA was lying down below the level of the charpoy on the ground. Maulvi Sahib stood up out of respect. MGA lovingly asked: “Why have you stood up?” Maulvi Sahib expressed that he had done so out of respect. On this, MGA said: “I was standing on guard for you. The boys would make noise and I would stop them so that your sleep would not
be disturbed.”
