Intro
Zahir Ahmad is great grand son of MGA (maternal). His biological mother was Sahibzadi Amtul Jameel (aka Bibi Jameel) was a daughter of Mirza Basheer ud Din Mahmud Ahmad through his 3rd wife, Syeda Maryam. His father was the son of a famous Qadiani-Ahmadi missionary Maulvi Chaudhry Fateh Muhammad Sial, Chaudhri Nasir Ahmad Sial. Chaudhri Nasir Ahmad Sial and Sahibzadi Amtul Jameel (aka Bibi Jameel) had one son which was forcibly given away to be raised in his uncles house (MM Ahmad and his mom’s sister, Amtul Qayyum), since they didn’t have any kids. Chaudhri Nasir Ahmad Sial and Sahibzadi Amtul Jameel (aka Bibi Jameel) had 3 daughters also. Oral history has told us that Chaudhri Nasir Ahmad Sial didn’t live with his wife often, she stayed in Rabwah at her fathers palace (Qasr-e-Khilafat) and Chaudhri Nasir Ahmad Sial worked odd jobs and was barely home. We think Zahir Ahmad was born in the 1960’s in Pakistan and he moved to the USA with his adopted parents soon thereafter. Zahir Ahmad inherited a special ring in the Mirza family. When MGA died, he had 3 rings that were given to his 3 sons (from his second marriage), Mirza Basheer ud Din Mahmud Ahmad, Mirza Bashir Ahmad and Mirza Sharif Ahmad. The ring that was given to Mirza Basheer ud Din Mahmud Ahmad is now used at the official ring for the Khalifa, and whomever the Khalifa is, the ring must be worn. The ring that was given to Mirza Sharif Ahmad was given to Mirza Masroor Ahmad (the 5th Khalifa), even before his election, Mirza Sharif Ahmad had given it to Mirza Mansoor Ahmad (father of Mirza Masroor Ahmad, the 5th Khalifa). The last ring was given to Mirza Bashir Ahmad, who gave it to MM Ahmad, who gave it to Zahir Ahmad (a quote from Seeratul Mahdi about the rings is posted in the below).

In 2008, he wrote a long life story of his adopted father, MM Ahmad (it is posted in the below). Per his linkedin account, he is the CEO of a company called “Office Suites”, and since 1993. He was the Operations Manager at the Mashaal Corporation from 1985 to 1993. He was also the Director of Business Development at Softtech Systems Inc.

By the 2000’s, he found a wife, Tazeen Ahmad, they had 2 kids, Muhammad (born in 1987)(aka Moe Vision, a rapper) and a daughter named Marium. In 2008, he wrote a memorial about his adopted father, the famous MM Ahmad.

Sahibzada Mirza Muzaffar Ahmad—————————Zahir M. Ahmad

Sahibzada Mirza Muzaffar Ahmad, known to his friends as MM and his colleagues and admirers as Mian Sahib, was an Ahmadi Muslim legend. In this article, I will first draw a brief sketch of his illustrious life and then share some personal experiences, including reminiscences of the visits of Hadhrat Khalifatul Masih Ill and Khalifatul Masih IV1a to the United States.

Life Sketch
Sahibzada Mirza Muzaffar Ahmad was born in Qadian on February 281\ 1913 to QaMr. ul Ambiya Mirza Bashir Ahmad and Syeda Sarwar Sultana Begum, making him a grandson of the Promised Messiah He acquired his early education in Qadian and was sent to attend Government College, Lahore for a degree in law. After completing his studies, he competed for the very prestigious Indian Civil Service Exam. By the Grace of Allah, he passed the exam and headed to the United Kingdom for higher education. He attended Oxford University and completed his studies there.

After returning to India, he married Sahibzadi Amatul Qayyum, daughter of Musleh Mau’ood. He joined the Indian Civil Service where he held important portfolios before opting for Pakistan at the time of partition in 1947. Once he joined the Civil Service of Pakistan, commonly referred to as CSP, he swiftly rose through the ranks. Among the portfolios he held were: Secretary Finance West Pakistan, Additional Chief Secretary West Pakistan, Federal Secretary Commerce, Federal
Secretary Finance, Minister of Planning and Minister of Finance.

Upon completing his career with the Government of Pakistan, he headed to the World Bank as the Executive Director for the Middle East and Pakistan. He retired from the World Bank in 1984. During his tenure at the World Bank, he also served as the Executive Secretary of the Joint Ministerial Committee of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund.

The final chapter of his life, and the one most revered by him, began when he was appointed the Amir of the USA Jama’at in 1989 by Khalifatul Masih IV . All his life he had preached the creed, “I will give precedence to my faith over all worldly objects.” Allah provided him with the formal opportunity to serve the cause of his faith, Ahmadiyyat, the true Islam. Once given the opportunity, he never looked back and at age 76, with failing health, he embarked on a 13- year journey, enhancing the condition of the Jama’ at in ever) way.

Love of Allah, the Holy Qur’an and Holy Prophetsaw

If one has to describe Mian Sahib in one sentence, it would be that Taqwa, or fear and love of Allah ruled his every action. His love for Allah ran so deep that the mere mention of the name f Allah would bring tears to his eyes. It was easy to assess his love for Allah as he treated the word of the Holy Qur’an with utmost respect. He did not even allow us to sit or stand in a way that our backs were towards the Holy book. He read the Qur’an several times a day and read all the different commentaries that have been rendered. Most copies we have at our home have extensive handwritten notes on them.

His love and devotion to the Holy Prophet of Islam, Hadhrat Muhammad Mustafa saw was evident during the speeches he delivered on the subject of ZikreHabib (remembrance of a beloved one). It was his favorite subject and despite the fact that he had written those speeches many times, he would become extremely emotional and consumed while preparing and delivering those speeches.

Love for the Institution of Khilafat
Since this article is to be included in the issue to celebrate the blessings of Khilafat, I will concentrate on this aspect of Hadhrat Mian Sahib’s personality. His devotion to the institution of Khilafat was of such a nature that, when I asked Hadhrat Khalifatul Masih IV for a quote to be placed on his tombstone, Huzur wrote back and said, “You should write it yourself and add on my behalf the following: ‘He was a complete devotee to the Khilafat-e-Ahmadiyya; his unwavering love, obedience and devotion to the institution was that of such high magnitude that, as a younger brother, I often felt embarrassed.”‘

While on the subject, I would like to share an incident that will adequately express this point.  Mian Sahib spent the last nine years of his life in pain due to a back condition. At times it was difficult for him to walk a long distance. Once, we were at Dulles Airport on our way to see our beloved Imam, Khalifatul Masih the rvr1 off to London.

As I was walking with Huzur for security reasons, Huzur asked me as to the whereabouts of “Bhai,” a term used in respect for older brothers. I informed him that due to his back and leg pain he was left behind. Huzur turned back and started to walk. When we saw Mian Sahib, he was walking gingerly with a group of people and was clearly in pain. One of his assistants was walking with a wheelchair behind him. Huzur very lovingly asked “Bhai” to have a seat in the wheelchair. Mian Sahib turned to him and with a very grateful look asked, “May I?” He did not
feel comfortable sitting down without his Khalifa’s permission and even when he obtained the Khalifa’s permission, he felt uncomfortable sitting down while his Khalifa was still standing.

It was an experience within itself when Huzur would graciously agree to visit the U.S., Mian Sahib would immediately go into overdrive. The first visit of a Khalifa to the United States was

(15)  In the name of God, the most Gracious, the most Merciful. Yours humbly submits that the Promised Messiah had three rings. One of them was the “AlaysAllahu bikafin ‘Abduhu” ring which he mentioned several times in his writings. This was the oldest ring which he had manufactured a long time before his claim. The second ring was from his revelation, “Gharsatuka baydi birahmati wa qudtratil khurooj”. This was manufactured after his claim and he continued to wear it for some time on his hand. This due to comparatively being the largest writing had the largest size. The third was prepared in his last years, which he wore on his hand when he died; but it was not prepared by him. Someone wanted to gift him a ring and asked what to write on it, so Huzoor replied, “Mawla Bas” and so it was prepared for him as such. At the time of his death, someone tooo off this ring and then after some time, Walida Sahiba took it back. The “AlaysAllahahu bikafin ‘abduhu” ring was given to big brother (Hazrat Khalifatul Masih Thani); the “Ghursatuka baydi” ring was given to me; and the “Mawla Bas” ring was given to dear Mian Sharif Ahmad. The sisters were also given similar two additional blessings.
