Intro
In 1901, (Via Malfuzat-3, online English edition, page 233, Al-Hakam, vol. 5, no. 28, dated 31 July 1901, pp. 3-4), MGA alleged that he was referred to in 66:12 (66:13 in the Kadiani Koran), i.e., “””We breathed into *him (feehee) of Our Spirit.”””–. MGA alleged that even Zamakhshari translated this verse the same way, however, this is unverified. Ibn Kathir translated the relevant words as “breathed into it”, not “breathed into him”. Even Suyuti translated the phrase as “breathed into it”. These are both Mujadids that Ahmadi’s allege to accept!
In 1902, via “Noah’s Ark” (See pages 78-79) MGA claimed to be mentioned in the verse 66:12. MGA also connects the verse 66:12 with the second coming of Eisa (as).
In 1906-1907, MGA claimed that 66:12 (66:13 in the Kadiani Koran) of the Quran was revealed about himself (See Haqiqatul Wahi (1907)(page 424).
In 1908, After MGA died, in Barahin-i-Ahmadiyya, Vol. 5, (Pages 136-137 and Pages 484-485) MGA claimed that the soul of Eisa (as) was breathed into himself (while MGA was Maryam [as]) via 66:12 (66:13 in the Kadiani Koran). This is how MGA explains how he became Esa (as)(nauzobillah).
In 1909, MGA repeats the same argument, Nuzul ul Masih. MGA (and his team) was backdating this argument to instances wherein he was called Maryam (as) and/or Eisa (as) in the Barahin series (v1-4, 1880-1884 era).
In 1917, in Muhammad Ali’s commentary of the Quran. On 66:12, Maulvi Muhammad Ali translated the key words as “we breathed into him”, which is exactly what MGA argued in 1907 (See Haqiqatul Wahi (1907)(page 424) and 1908 (See Barahin-i-Ahmadiyya, Vol. 5, Pages 136-137 and Pages 484-485). Ahmadi’s have written that the Arabic word “feehee” means him, whereas the wide consensus of Muslim scholars differ. See also 15:29, 32:9 and 38:72, in these verses Allah also says “fanafakhna feehee min roohina” (or a variation of it), in terms of Adam (as) and how Allah blew the ruh into Adam (as). The phrase “Khalideena-fee-ha” appears in the Quran 41 times, 11 times for Hell and 30 times for Heaven, this is just an example of the usage. The word(s) “feeha” appears 247 time(s) in 215 verse(s) in Quran. The word(s) “feehi” appears 167 time(s) in 157 verse(s) in Quran.
In 1926, The 2nd Qadiani Ahmad Khalifa translated the relevant words in 66:12 as “”so we breathed into her of our Spirit”” (See Invitation to Ahmadiyyat, page 50).
In 1955, via Maulvi Sher Ali’s translation of the Quran (2021 edition and 1955 edition), he translated “fanafakhna feehee min roohina” as “we breathed into him the spirit”.
In the 1950‘s and 60’s, the 2nd Qadiani-Ahmadi Khalifa’s “Tafseer-e-Kabeer” and “Tafseer-e-Sagheer”, he seems to have totally avoided Chapter 66.
In 1988, via Malik Ghulam Farid’s Official 5-volume commentary of the Quran (Short Commentary), he also translated the key words as “we breathed into *him”, which is exactly what MGA argued in 1907 (See Haqiqatul Wahi (1907)(page 424) and 1908. Ahmadi’s have written that the Arabic word “feehee” means him, whereas the consensus of Muslim scholars differ. However, in the 5-volume commentary itself, he translated it as “we breathed therein”.
Additionally, MGA claimed to have gotten pregnant by Allah in the 1884 era (see also 19:25 of the Quran). MGA said many disrespectful things about Maryam (ra), see them here. In 1902, MGA quoted 21:91 (21:92 in the Qadiani Quran) of the Quran and claimed that Maryam was called a married woman (Ahsanat). MGA then quoted 4:24, specifically the phrase “wa mushanatoo” and gave it as a parallel.
In 2021, Brother Zay discussed this entire issue with Ahmadi’s on discord (52:56) time stamp.
In roughly 2022, Razi alleged that when MGA was claiming to have become Maryam and gotten pregnant he was stealing poetry from the famous Rumi (See Maulana Rume his book Masnavi, Volume two) wherein he claimed to have gotten pregnant like Maryam (as)(See Miftah al Ulum vol. 1, p. 11). However, we have not found these scans as of yet.

“”One example is of the wife of Pharaoh who sought the refuge of God from her ill-natured husband. This is an example of those believers who succumb to the passions of the self and commit mistakes, but then they are remorseful, they repent and seek the refuge of God. Their inner self constantly disturbs them, like a husband who is similar in nature to Pharaoh. Such people possess a self that reproves itself; they constantly endeavour to safeguard themselves from evil. The second sort of believers are those who possesses a higher rank. Such believers not only abstain from wrongdoing, but perform righteous deeds as well. Allah the Exalted has likened such people to Maryas.
“”Who guarded her chastity—so We breathed into him of Our Spirit.”””–66:12
Each and every believer ought to develop a level of excellence in their righteousness and purity, for such people are a spiritual manifestation of Mary, and God breathes into them of His Spirit, which then transforms into the son of Mary. Zamakhshari has also interpreted this verse in the same sense and states that this verse is general in connotation. We must adopt this interpretation. Otherwise, it is narrated in the Hadith that except for Mary and the son of Mary, no one else is free from the touch of Satan, and this would establish that all of the Prophets were, God forbid, subject to the influence of Satan. Therefore, this verse indicates that each and every believer who reaches a level of excellence has the Spirit of God breathed into them and they become the son of Mary, and this also contains a prophecy that the son of Mary would be born in this ummah. It is strange that people will name their sons Muhammad, Jesus, Moses, Jacob, Isaac, Ishmael and Abraham, and consider it permissible to do so, but do not consider it permissible for God to name someone Jesus or the Son of Mary.”

MGA claims to be the HIM in the verse 66:12.
“””It is this very phenomenon of the birth of Jesus son of Mary in this Ummah, which has been vividly prophesied in Surah At-Tahreem, wherein it is explained that someone from among this Ummah will firstly be transformed into the likeness of Mary. Thereafter the soul of Jesus will be breathed into this Mary. As such, for a period of time this person will be nurtured in the womb of Mary before being born as the spiritual manifestation of Jesus. And in this way, such a person will come to be known as Jesus son of Mary. This is the prophecy regarding the Son of Mary who would be from among the Ummah of Muhammad[sa], which was revealed almost 1300 years ago in Surah At-Tahreem of the Holy Quran”””.

“””It was the same promise which was set out in surah al- Tahrim [last verse of Chapter 66 of the Holy Qur’an]. In accordance with this promise, it was incumbent that someone from among the Muslims should be named Mary and through the spiritual process ‘Isa [Jesus] should be born and should be called Son of Mary. I am that person. Mary was commanded: and so was I, the only difference being that Mary was then suffering from physical exhaustion and I was suffering from lack of financial means.””

Khurram Shah alleges that ALL people can become Ibn Maryam – ahmadiyyafactcheckblog
49:06, Khurram asks, was Maryam (as) a him? Khurram quoted 66:12 and inferred exactly that! And via the official 5-volume short commentary of the Quran by Malik Ghulam Farid (first published in 1988 and then again). However, Khurram doesn’t know that in the 5 volume LONG commentary by the same author, he translates it as “we breathed therein”, instead “we breathed in him”, which is an obvious error. Furthermore, why hasn’t Khurram checked Tafseer-e-Kabeer or Tafseer-e-Sagheer for confirmation of ideology?

Ibn Kathir
QTafsir | The Disbelievers can cause no —
The Disbelievers can cause no Harm to the Believers
This is a parable that Allah made of the believers, in that, if they needed to, their association with the disbelievers will not harm them. Allah the Exalted said,
(Let not the believers take the disbelievers as protecting friends instead of the believers, and whoever does that, will never be helped by Allah in any way, except you indeed fear a danger from them.) (3:28) Qatadah said, “Fir`awn was the most tyrannical among the people of the earth and the most disbelieving. By Allah! His wife was not affected by her husband’s disbelief, because she obeyed her Lord. Therefore, let it be known that Allah is the Just Judge Who will not punish anyone except for their own sins.” Ibn Jarir recorded that Sulayman said, “The wife of Fir`awn was tortured under the sun and when Fir`awn would finish the torture session, the angels would shade her with their wings. She was shown her house in Paradise.” Ibn Jarir said that Al-Qasim bin Abi Bazzah said, “Fir`awn’s wife used to ask, `Who prevailed’ When she was told, `Musa and Harun prevailed’, she said, `I believe in the Lord of Musa and Harun.’ Fir`awn sent his aides to her and said to them, `Find the biggest stone. If she insists on keeping her faith, throw the stone on her, otherwise she is my wife. When they came to her, she looked up to the sky and was able to see her house in Paradise. She persisted on the faith and her soul was then captured. The stone was thrown on her lifeless body.” This is the meaning of her statement,
(My Lord! Build for me a home with You in Paradise, and save me from Fir`awn and his work,) means, `deliver me from him, because I am innocent of his actions,’
(and save me from the people who are wrongdoers.) Her name was Asiyah bint Muzahim, may Allah be pleased with her. Allah said,
(And Maryam, the daughter of `Imran who guarded her chastity (private part).) meaning, who protected and purified her honor, by being chaste and free of immorality,
(And We breathed into it (private part) through Our Ruh,) meaning, through the angel Jibril. Allah sent the angel Jibril to Maryam, and he came to her in the shape of a man in every respect. Allah commanded him to blow into a gap of her garment and that breath went into her womb through her private part; this is how `Isa was conceived. This is why Allah said here,
(And We breathed into it through Our Ruh, and she testified to the truth of her Lords Kalimat, and His Kutub,) meaning His decree and His legislation.
(and she was of the Qanitin.) Imam Ahmad recorded that Ibn `Abbas said, “The Messenger of Allah drew four lines on the ground and said,
(Do you know what these lines represent) They said, `Allah and His Messenger know best.’ He said,
(The best among the women of Paradise are Khadijah bint Khuwaylid, Fatimah bint Muhammad, Maryam bint `Imran and Asiyah bint Muzahim, wife of Fir`awn.) It is confirmed in the Two Sahihs from Abu Musa Al-Ash`ari that the Messenger of Allah said,
(Many men have reached the level of perfection, but none among women have reached this level except Asiyah (Fir`awn’s wife), Maryam (the daughter of `Imran), and Khadijah (the daughter of Khuwaylid). And no doubt, the superiority of `A’ishah to other women is like the superiority of Tharid to other meals.) In my book, Al-Bidayah wan-Nihayah, I have mentioned these Hadiths using their various chains of narration in relating the story of Prophet `Isa and his mother Maryam, peace be upon them, all praise be to Allah. This is the end of the Tafsir of Surat At-Tahrim, all thanks and praise are due to Allah.

The Quran Explorer on https://quran-archive.org is a much better online Quranic resource to check the facts as it includes all the original (first edition) works by Muslim and non-Muslim translators, that is including the first English Quran translations.
