Intro
He was from Halalpur, India. He seems to be the only Ahmadi from Halalpur, India, which is close to Delhi. He shows up in the history of Ahmadiyya in 1914, after the split, as a teacher in a Jamia, which was housed the biggest building in Qadian, the Talim ul Islam High School. He published a book “Nishan-e-Rehmat” in 1914 wherein he argued that the Khalifa, Mirza Basheer ud Din Mahmud Ahmad was the Musleh Maud. It is also rumored that he was in-fact the real author of “Tafseer-e-Kabeer” and “Tafseer-e-Sagheer”.
Per Qadiani-Ahmadi sources, the first Principal of Jami’a Ahmadiyya was Maulana Syed Sarwar Shah Sahib. The teaching staff consisted of towering personalities like Hafiz Roshan Ali, Maulvi Ismail Sahib Halalpuri and Mir Mohammad Ishaq (MGA’s brother-in-law)(See Devotion of Life, page 160).
