In 2026 (Sep), Bro Imtiaz streamed with Mohamed Anas Raheem of New Zealand about his journey out of the cult of Ahmadiyya. Anas Raheem explained how his family is from Sri Lanka and joined Ahmadiyya back in 1915. Anas Raheem was born in Germany, grew up in Canada, however, he moved to New Zealand (in roughly 2006) and was a prominent Ahmadi, he held the position of Sadr of MKA New Zealand and a prominent spokesperson/outreach head for the Ahmadiyya Community in New Zealand.

Anas Raheem ‘s wife also left Ahmadiyya. Anas Raheem also explained how he spoke to Asif Basit about the Nida scandal. Anas Raheem was serving as National Sadr MKA-New Zealand. When Sadr-MKA-UK came to New Zealand, Anas Raheem hosted him. Anas Raheem explains how people were asking questions about Nida, so him and the local murrabi’s organized a question and answer session with Asif Basit, however, all Basit did was downplay the Nida scandal and no one asked again.

Anas Raheem’s great-grandfather accepted MGA’s claim after seeing an advertisement about the Imam Mahdi placed by Sufi Ghulam Muhammad, one of MGA’s companions. At the time, Sufi Ghulam Muhammad was spending three months in Sri Lanka while travelling to Mauritius. Anas Raheem’s visited him at the Mansion Hotel on Armour Street in Colombo 12, where several others interested in the Ahmadiyya ideology had also gathered. In 1915, he became one of the movement’s pioneers in Sri Lanka and took bai‘at at the hands of Sufi Ghulam Muhammad. Anas Raheem’s great-grandfather was already married at the time. He later left his wife and family and eventually remarried. All of us are descendants of his second wife, who was not particularly religious.
