Intro
In 1880-1882, MGA denied that Eisa (as) raised the dead (see 3:49 of the Quran, 3:50 in the Kadiani Koran)(See also 5:110 of the Quran, 5:111 in the Kadiani Koran)(See Braheen e Ahmadiyya, Vol. 3, pages 229 and 233). MGA also denied the miracle of the snake of Musa (as)(See Braheen e Ahmadiyya, Vol. 3, pages 229 and 233. The verses of the Quran, which prove that Musa (as) dropped his rod and Allah turned it into a snake are covered in Chapter 20: 17-20 (See Tafsir ibn Kathir)(See the Kadiani Tafsir of these verses herein).

In 1882-1884, MGA quoted the Bible, John Verses 2-5 (make sure you read John, verses 1-15 to properly understand the context), as he denies the miracles of Jesus in the bible. However, MGA forgets to mention that the Quran, 3:49 had already confirmed the many miracles of Esa (as) and it specifically spoke of the instance in John wherein Esa (as) healed the blind, the sick, the lepers and brought a man back to life. In fact, in MGA’s first 10 books, he never mentioned the Quran, Chapter 3 verses 45-51 (See Braheen e Ahmadiyya, Vol. 4, pages 31-35, online English edition). MGA also scoffs at how some insects can be brought back to life with salt. MGA is making a mockery of the miracles of Esa (as).

In 1886, MGA called the miracle of the splitting of the moon a rare natural phenomenon like male humans/goats that give milk (a lie).

In 1891 (see Izala Auham), MGA took it a step further and straight up accused Eisa (as) of mesmerism and slight of hand and thus, was accusing Eisa (as) of using magic, or being a magician. Again, MGA also denied the miracle of the snake of Musa (as). #Ahmadis deny 26:63 (26:64 in the Qadiani Quran) of the Quran and claim that Musa (as) never split the sea, it was a low tide phenomenon. Watch Bro Imtiaz explain this whole thing herein. MGA also denied the miracle of Ibrahim (as) and 4 birds in 2:260.

MGA kept going, in 1893, via his written debate with Athim, MGA denied the miraculous birth of Eisa (as)(See Ruhani Khazain volume 6 Jang-e-Muqadas page 280-281) and later on Qadiani-Ahmadi’s began to call Maryam a Hermaphrodite (astagfarullah) and argued that all miracles happened via science. In 2023, they have backtracked and only call it a possibility, however, to consider this a possibility is to cede and reject the signs of Allah.

In 1897-1898, MGA and his team of writers argued that the Christians have written about many miracles of (Jesus) but the fact is that he did not perform any miracle (moijza)(See Zamima Anjam-e-Atham, RK-v11 p.290).

In 1899, MGA and his team of writers alleged that Mirza Mubarak Ahmad (MGA’s son) spoke twice in his mothers womb. Tiryaqul-Qulub Page 119 (arabic edition), Tiryaqul-Qulub Page 80 (Lahori-Ahmadi version online), Ruhani Khazain, Volume-15, page 217, Tiryaq ul Quloob page 41.

In 1899, via Malfuzat-2, online English edition (page 102, updated via Raoof), MGA denied the miracle of the snake of Musa (as).

In 1902, MGA and his team of writers alleged that 3000 miracles were displayed by the Prophet Muhammad (saw) (See RK, Vol. 17, page 153, Tohfa Golarvia).

In 1903 (See Tadhkirat-ush-Shahadatain [1903] online english edition), MGA began to allege that he had a 100,000 predictions/prophecies fulfilled, and even if a few didn’t get fulfilled, like Athim and also the death of Ahmad Baig‘s son-in-law (Sultan Muhammad, married to Muhammadi Begum), that shouldn’t be a big issue.

In 1906-1907, MGA alleged that his son Mirza Mubarak Ahmad had died, MGA then placed his hand on Mirza Mubarak Ahmad’s body and focused my attention toward God Almighty [and] so after two or three minutes the boy started breathing and a pulse could be felt and the boy became alive. Then it occurred to me that the giving of life to the dead, by `Eesaa, peace on him, was of this same kind and then the ignorant embellished upon it (See “Haqiqatul Wahi”, online English edition, page 324, Sign-104)(Urdu, RK, v. 22, p. 265). MGA also scoffed at snakes turning into rods and vice and versa (see page 355 of “Haqiqatul Wahi”, online English edition).

In 1908, (April-May), in Chashma-e-Marifat, MGA and his team of writers wrote that Maryam (as) had both male and female “characteristics” and was thus able to impregnant herself via male sperm if she ever got excited (See the Hermaphrodite theory). They were arguing that Hindu’s shouldn’t object to the miraculous birth since strange stories of births exist in Hindu literature.

In 1908 (Oct), via BA5, MGA and his team of writers called the splitting of the moon as a type of lunar eclipse (see pages 106-107).

In 1988, via the Qadiani Quranic commentary of Malik Ghulam Farid, See under 19:22 (19:23 in the Kadiani Koran). And 3:47 (3:48 in the Kadiani Koran). They alleged that tumors can cause the creation of Male sperm through a process called arrhenblastoma. This argument was repeated in the online edition of 2025.

In 2022, Mirza Masroor Ahmad was asked about miracles by an Ahmadi boy, the answer is strange and weird. The young boy was asking about the red drops incident of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad. In response to this, and very ironically, Mirza Masroor Ahmad said that science can’t comprehend the spiritual realm. Mirza Masroor Ahmad was so confused he even said that 1+1=2 can’t be proven (See the clip on TikTok and Twitter). Mirza Masroor Ahmad also commented on the splitting of the Moon miracle by Muhammad (saw) and seems to have forgot that MGA eventually called it an eclipse.

In 2022, A qadiani-Ahmadi named Dr. Jalil Ahmad Bhatti wrote an article wherein he accused Maryam of being a hermaphrodite.

In Nov-2023, Tahir Nasser tweeted about Maryam (sa) getting excited and impregnating herself. In Nov. of 2023, Tahir Nasser accused Maryam of having hormonal imbalance. Tahir Nasser also accused Maryam of seeing a handsome man (an angel) and getting excited, having an orgasm, and thus impregnating herself (see the scan in the below). In 2023, I asked the West Africans about this and they had no idea. Also in 2023, Maulvi Razi Ullah Noman has admitted that Maryam had both male and female reproductive organs.

In Sep-2025, 4 Qadiani-Ahmadi Murrabi’s discussed “Are Miracles Possible in Today’s World”? It is Maulvi Farhan Iqbal, Maulvi Zahid Abid (working out of Calgary, an asylum case), Maulvi Farrukh Tahir and Maulvi Aatir Mujtaba Khan (on twitter as @Conqueror1A). Sadly, they never mentioned “the red drops miracle” of MGA, nor did they address why and how Mirza Mubarak Ahmad (MGA’s youngest son) allegedly spoke whilst in the womb. At 43:53, Maulvi Farhan Iqbal argued that miracles are not required for a religion to be true (See the clip on Twitter and TikTok).

In 2026 (Mar), I discussed all of this vs. Moe Moe Laiq. This is Mohammed Laiq, an Ahmadi who is always as speakers corner.

1880-1884

MGA was already discreetly denying the miracles of Eisa (as) in the Barahin series (1–4)(1880)(MGA argued that flies can be brought back to life with salt). Some of Ahl-e-Hadith ulema immediately took notice and some called MGA a Kafir (1884). Even Nawab Siddiq Hassan Khan tore of the Barahin-i-Ahmadiyya and sent it back to Qadian in that condition, which enraged MGA. MGA was also accused of claiming prophethood by the Ahl-e-Hadith, only Batalvi defended him. I have written a full review of BA3 herein.

Mirza Ghulam Ahmad and the Splitting of the Moon incident of Muhammad

Surmah Chashm Arya, Ruhani Khaza’in, Vol. 2, pp. 122-127

In 1886, MGA called the miracle of the splitting of the moon a rare natural phenomenon like male humans/goats that give milk (a lie).

“”””We wish to point out that the miracle of the splitting of the moon is not an event that the Muslims put forth as proof of the truth of Islam and as a principal argument in support of the truth of the Holy Qur’an. Out of thousands of internal and external miracles and signs, this was also a natural sign which is supported by historical proof. If overlooking clear proofs we are to suppose that this miracle has not been established, and if we are to interpret the relevant verse of the Holy Quran as the Christians or the followers of nature, or those who repudiate external events interpret it it would do no harm to Islam. The truth is that the Word of God has wholly relieved the Muslims of the need of relying upon other miracles. It is not only a miracle in itself, but on account of its blessings and lights, it produces miracles .

The Holy Qur’an comprises in itself such perfect qualities that it is in no need of extraordinary
miracles. The presence of external miracles adds nothing to it and their absence would disclose no defect in it. The beauty of the Qur’an is not decked out with the ornaments of external miracles. It comprises in itself thousands of strange and wonderful miracles which can be witnessed by the people of every age. It is not necessary to refer only to the past. The Qur’an is such a beautiful beloved that everything derives ornamentation from it and it is not dependent upon anything else for its own ornamentation.

Those who object to the miracle of the splitting of the moon have only one instrument to make, and even that a broken one, that the splitting of the moon is contrary to the law of nature. The
followers of the law of nature contend that it is obvious that so far as a man can find by the
exercise of his reason there is nothing apart from nature in the law of nature, that is to say, the
observation of the universe indicates that everything material and non-material by which we are
surrounded is part of a wonderful system for its existence and continuance and for its eff e c t .
This system is inherent in everything and never departs from anything. Whatever nature has designed will happen without fail in the same way.

We accept all that, but does it prove that Divine methods are their law are limited to that which
is our observation and experience no more? To believe that Divine Power is unlimited is of the
essence of the Divine system; it ensures that the door of intellectual progress should always remain open. Then what a mistake it is to put forward the proposition that whatever is beyond our understanding or observation is outside the law of nature! When we confess that the laws of nature are unending and unlimited, it should be our attitude that we should not reject every new thing because it is beyond our reason. We should assess the matter on its proof or lack of proof. If it is proved we should enter it in the list of the laws of nature, and if it is not proved we should confine ourselves to affirming that it is not proved. We would not be entitled to say that it is outside the law of nature. To hold anything as being beyond the law of nature, it is necessary that we should encompass all Divine laws which are eternal as within a circle and our intellect should fully comprehend all that God’s Power has revealed from the beginning up to now and that He will reveal through Eternity….

We believe that the Powers of God Almighty are unlimited, then it would be madness to hope to
encompass all His Powers. For if they can be confined within the measure of our observation, then how would they be unlimited and unending? In such case, we are not only confronted with the difficulty that our finite and incomplete experience should comprehend all the Powers of the
Eternal God, but there would arise a much greater difficulty that by limiting His Powers He Himself would also be limited and we would be affirming that we have discovered all the reality of God Almighty and that we have arrived at its depth and bottom.  Such an assumption would be disrespectful and destructive of faith and would amount to a total denial of God.

“”””Miracles of Jesus
Certain Muslim sects believe that Jesus used to fashion different types of birds and used to invest them with life by breathing into them. On this basis I have been asked that as I claim to be the like of Jesus I should also fashion a bird and make it come alive by breathing into it. It is alleged that millions of birds created by Jesus fly about everywhere and that the like of Jesus should also create some birds.

The answer to all these superstitions is that the verses on which they are based are allegorical and it is the height of faithlessness and patent repudiation of the basic values of Islam to construe them as meaning that God Almighty had deliberately associated Jesus in His attribute of creation; inasmuch as it would be a negation of the Godhead to believe that God Almighty should invest someone else with His special attributes and His Divinity. One of these people was asked if he could distinguish those birds that had been created by God from those that were created by Jesus, but he confessed by remaining silent that he was unable to do so.

The doctrine that some birds are the creation of God Almighty and some are the creation of Jesus is altogether vicious and amounts to polytheism. Anyone holding such a belief cannot be a Muslim….

The miracles of Prophets are of two types. One are heavenly manifestations, in which human design and reason have no part, such as the splitting of the moon, which was a miracle of our lord and master, the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and was manifested by the limitless power of God Almighty as a sign of the greatness of a righteous and perfect Prophet. Secondly, intellectual miracles, which are manifested through the extraordinary intelligence of a Prophet and which resemble Divine revelation. For instance, the miracle of Solomonas, which was manifested in the shape of:

‘A palace paved smooth with slabs of glass.’—Al-Naml, 27:45

whereby the Queen of Sheba was blessed with faith.

It appears that this miracle of Jesus was purely intellectual like the miracle of Solomon. History reveals that in those days people were inclined towards the useless pursuit of sleight of hand, which astonished the common people. People like those who, in the time of the Pharaoh, used to manipulate the forms of serpents and other animals and made them move like living animals, had by the time of Jesus spread into the land of the Jews who had learnt magical tricks from them as is also indicated in the Holy Qur’an. It is, therefore, not a matter of surprise that God Almighty may have instructed Jesus in some method whereby a toy fashioned out of clay could be manipulated by pressing a spring or breathing upon it so as to fly like a bird or to move on its feet. Jesus had worked with his father Joseph for twenty-two years as a carpenter, and carpentry stimulates a man’s mind towards inventing different kinds of machines and mechanical instruments.

Miracles are granted to a person in accord with the faculties that he possesses. As the spiritual faculties of our lord and master, the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) were well developed in the appreciation of spiritual verities, he was accordingly bestowed the miracle of the Holy Qur’an, which is comprehensive of all verities and understandings of the Divine. It should, therefore, not be a matter of surprise if Jesus displayed an intellectual miracle to his opponents, like the one displayed by his ancestor, Solomonas. Such a miracle is not beyond the reach of the intellect inasmuch as in our own time many mechanical experts are able to fashion birds that speak and move and wag their tails. I have also heard that some mechanical birds can even fly. Many such toys are manufactured in Bombay, Calcutta, Europe, America and every year new one are introduced into the market.

As the Holy Qur’an often employs metaphors, these verses can be construed to mean that birds signify the illiterate and simple people whom Jesus chose as his companions, who were like birds under his care, and into whom he breathed spiritual guidance whereby they began to fly.

Moreover, it is possible that such wonders might be performed like a pastime through hypnosis. Those who are experts in ‘amal-ut-tirb [psychokinetic exercises] can, by directing the warmth of their spirits towards certain objects, make them appear as if they were alive. The human soul possesses the capacity of directing its warmth upon a lifeless object so as to make it move as if it was alive. I have seen some practitioners of this phenomenon, who so warmed a wooden tripod by the touch of their hands through the exercise of their animal spirit that it began to move, and though several people mounted on it, it could not be stopped….

It should be remembered that such an object which is fashioned out of clay or wood and is
warmed by a spirit through ‘amal-ut-tirb does not become alive. It remains solid and lifeless; it is only made to move by the warmth of the spirit of the mesmerist. It should also be remembered that the Holy Qur’an does not affirm the movement or flight of such birds, nor their coming to life. It should also be kept in mind that curing diseases and influencing objects with the warmth of the spirit are all branches of mesmerism and there have always been people who healed the paralytics, the lepers and those suffering from tuberculosis through spiritual exercises….It has been conclusively established that, under Divine direction, Messiah, son of Mary, was an expert
in mesmerism, like the Prophet Isaiah, though he was not as great an expert as the latter, because even the bones of Isaiah performed the miracle that when they were brought into contact with a corpse, it came back to life; but the corpses of the two thieves who were nailed
to the cross at the same time with Jesus were not revived through contact with his body. In any case, these mesmeric activities of Jesus were in accord with the thinking of his age for a special purpose. It should, however, be kept in mind that mesmerism is not worthy of such appreciation
as the common people imagine. Had I not looked upon it with contempt and disgust, I could, by the grace of God Almighty and with His support, have performed the same wonders as were performed by Jesus. But I prefer the spiritual method that was followed by the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him.) Jesus had adopted this method under Divine direction in view of the earthy and low thinking of the Jews, which had become their second nature. In truth he was not fond of this method.

One evil characteristic of this physical practice is that a person who continues to employ his emotional and intellectual faculties to heal physical maladies suffers a serious decline of the spiritual capacities, which heal spiritual ills through their influence, and is not able to achieve any remarkable success in illumining and purifying souls. That is why Jesus, who healed those afflicted with physical ailments with this method, was not able to achieve any noticeable success in impressing hearts with guidance and the Unity of God and steadfastness of faith. But the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), who did not pay any attention to physical matters, and concentrated on stimulating spiritual guidance in the hearts of his people, was most successful in purifying the souls and helped thousands of God’s creatures to achieve it to the highest degree. He achieved matchless success in the spiritual reform of mankind and in bringing about inner change. The dead, whom Jesus revived by the practice ‘amal-ut-tirb, died within a few minutes, as the warmth of the spirit and its life was only temporarily stimulated in them, but those who were spiritually revived by our Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) shall live forever.

My designation of mesmerism as ‘amal-ut-tirb, in which Jesus had acquired some proficiency, is under Divine direction. God Almighty disclosed to me that this art is ‘amal-ut-tirb, and it is concerning this that I received the revelation:

VERSE QUOTED

‘This is the tirb of whose reality people are unaware.’ It must be realized that God Almighty is Unique in respect of every one of His attributes and does not associate anyone in them. The emphasis which the clear and unambiguous verses of the Holy Qur’an give to this subject
is well known. As Allah, hallowed be His name, says:

Al-Furqan, 25:3-4

That is: ‘God is He Who alone owns the kingdom of the heavens and the earth. He has no partner. He has no son nor has he any partner in His kingdom. He has created everything and has placed limits on their bodies, their power, and their life. The pagans have taken gods— beside that True God—who have not created anything and are themselves created. They do not determine any harm or benefit for themselves and do not control life nor death nor resurrection.’

God Almighty has here clearly affirmed that there is no Creator besides Him. In another verse, it is stated that the whole world together cannot create even a fly. Then it is stated that no one beside Him has control over death and life and resurrection. Had it been His way to associate any one of His creatures in these attributes, He would have made an exception of them and would not have taught His absolute Unity.

It may be asked why then has Allah the Glorious, employed the expression, ‘You will create’ with reference to Jesus. The answer would be that this is a metaphoric use of the expression as in the verse:

‘So blessed be Allah, the Best of creators.’—Al-Mu’minun, 23:15

Without a doubt God Almighty is the true Creator and those who fashion toys of clay or wood are also creators but only metaphorically so, because their works are mere show and have no reality.

If it is asked why it is not permissible for Jesusas to have fashioned birds under Divine direction which could fly by his breathing into them, by way of a miracle, the an-swer is that God does not make anyone the master of death and life or harm and benefit. Prophets seek miracles through prayer and supplication and do not possess the power to work miracles like a man has the power to use his hands and feet. Thus the power of creation is one of those Divine attributes that are never bestowed upon man and is distinct from a miracle. The essence of a miracle is that God Almighty, in order to demonstrate the truth and honour of a Prophet and the powerlessness and
helplessness of his opponents, manifests something that is extraordinary or beyond imagination by His special design or in response to the prayer or supplication of the Prophet. But it is done in a manner which is not inconsistent with His attributes of Unity, Holiness and Perfection and which does not permit of anyone else’s power or design.

It is not a miracle that God Almighty should invest a human being with the power of fashioning birds of clay, which would become real birds with flesh and bones and blood and all the limbs of animals when he breathes into them. If God Almighty can make someone the agent of His attribute of creation in the case of birds, He can also bestow the full agency of His attribute of creation. In this event, partnership in Divine attributes would become permissible, though only
under His direction and permission, and the comprehension of the true Creator would become doubtful in the presence of such creators whose creations would become indistinguishable
from God’s. This would not be a form of miracle; it would be partnership in Godhead.

Some wise people try to solve the dilemma of polytheism by asserting that the birds which Jesus created did not live for any length of time but fell down and died after a short flight. But this explanation would help only if it is held that those birds were not invested with true life but only appeared to be alive for a short time as a result of mesmeric influence….

The Holy Qur’an affirms that Jesus had been given the power to do these things as an exercise of his natural capacity, which is inherent in every human being. Jesus was not unique in this respect. Such capacity is being demonstrated in our own age. The miracles of Jesus were
rendered bizarre and doubtful by the pool which had existed even before the birth of Jesus, and which also displayed wonders and a single dip into which bestowed healing upon all those afflicted with diseases such as paralysis, leukoderma, leprosy etc. And there were others who
manifested similar extraordinary signs later on, and there was no such pool to cast doubt on their manifestations.

The belief that Jesus fashioned birds of clay and made them come alive as real birds by breathing into them, is entirely false and polytheistic. It was only an exercise of mesmeric capacity that had been developed to some degree by his spiritual propensity. It is also possible that he made use of clay from the pool that had been activated by the Holy Spirit. His miracle was only a kind of sleight of hand and the clay remained only clay like the Samaritan’s calf. Ponder over it, because this is a magnificent point; no one comprehends it except those who have been granted great wisdom.””””””

“It must also be understood that healing ailments and transferring the heat of one’s body into another are all parts of the art of mesmerism. Men of this type have always existed who would cure leprosy and other ailments. All those who are highly educated and are well read will agree with me and support my statement that some Naqshbandi and Suharwardi saints also practiced and performed similar services to mankind. Some of them were so well advanced in this field that they would make a very large number of deseased persons sit around them and cast them a glance which would heal them. The well known saint Muhiyud Din Ibne Arabi was much reputed in this art”

In 1899, via Malfuzat-2, online English edition (page 102, updated via Raoof), MGA denied the miracle of the snake of Musa (as).

“”The Miracles of the Other Prophets
The Promised Messiah said: “The signs that Moses and the other Prophets showed to the world, like turning ropes into snakes with a staff, were all illusions—especially in view of the fact that these spectacles were shown in an era when showmen performed all sorts of sleight of hand and people would be left confounded as to how a certain thing had actually occurred. Conjurors from among the British can show such illusions and tricks that make it appear as if they can revive a dead man, or make broken things appear as if they are perfectly intact. For example, in the Ain-i-Akbari as well, Abul Fazal has narrated a tale that a magician ascended into the sky in front of a crowd of people and one after the other, parts of his body fell from the sky. His wife burned herself on the pyre as per the Hindu tradition known as sati; however, the magician returned from the sky and asked for his wife. When she could not be found, he suspected that a certain vizier had hid her because he had feelings for her. Then, the King granted the magician permission to search the vizier, after which he pulled his wife out from under the vizier’s arm.”

MGA said: “In such circumstances, man is left with no choice but to have faith and deem the works of Prophets to be from God and consider the tricks of magicians to be deception and illusion. In this regard, the matter becomes a delicate one.”””

“”It is clear from this verse that after all the miracles of Christ which are narrated and the disciples had seen but still requesting (for the table), it is a proof that their hearts were not satisfied before. Otherwise, what was the need for them to say the words:

“”Let our hears be reassured and know that you have been truthful to us..”

Truthfullness of Christ was also already suspicious and they (disciples) didn’t consider this exorcism…”

“”Doctor Dowie, brags in his newspaper that such and such person got better and so and so got well. This process is such that to practice it, it is not necessary for one to be a righteous and pious person, let alone that this can be used as a witness for someone’s appointment from God (as a prophet). Because this method of removing ailments is commonly found among Hindus, Jews and Christians, some people are also found of this type among Muslims. When Jesus Christ used to perform miracles of healing, some Jews also used to do this kind of work, and there was also a pool in which some sick people were cured by taking a bath.

Footnote:
Therefore Hazrat Hujjatullah (Mirza Ghulam) has first mentioned that what is common among different nations, and for which there is no distinction between righteous and evil, that cannot be used as the criterion for identifying the truthful one and the liar”.

Swoon upon swoon was coming over [him] and I was engaged in supplication, near him, in the house, and several women were sitting next to him. Once a woman called out and said: Stop now because the boy has died. Then I came close to him and placed my hand on his body and focused my attention toward God Almighty [and] so after two or three minutes the boy started breathing and a pulse could be felt and the boy became alive. Then it occurred to me that the giving of life to the dead, by `Eesaa, peace on him, was of this same kind and then the ignorant embellished upon it [RK, v. 22, p. 265; Haqeeqat-ul-Wahee].

In 1908, (April-May), in Chashma-e-Marifat, MGA and his team of writers wrote that Maryam (as) had both male and female “characteristics” and was thus able to impregnant herself via male sperm if she ever got excited. They were arguing that Hindu’s shouldn’t object to the miraculous birth since strange stories of births exist in Hindu literature.

“””Then the reader of the article raised an objection that why did Mary become pregnant by the Holy Spirit and why was Jesus born only to Mary. The answer to this is that the same God created him who, according to the Arya society, at the beginning of the earth created millions of people like radish and carrots every day, while according to the statement of the Vedas, millions of times and countless times God has created the world in the same way and did not require that a man and a woman meet to produce a child. So, if Jesus was born in the same way, then what is wrong with it? The root of this objection is only that why a man was born without the union of man and woman, but the person who holds this belief that it has been agreed millions of times before that this is the same in this world. Human beings are born without the union of  male and female. How can he say this and how can he have the right to object against the birth of Jesus is against the Law of Nature. Great medical researchers who have gone before us have written about examples of birth and given precedents and their research shows that there are women who possess masculinity (sperm) and femininity (egg) in them and by some system when their semen is excited, pregnancy can occur, and such stories are also found in Hindu books. As in the Veda itself, it is said that O’Indra is the son of Karshi, whom I have written about earlier, so while this kind of story is also present in the Vedas and explained by Sayana Bhashikar then why question it? If this story has been written, then it is far from modest to object. Then he will say that the given answer that we presented does not mean that, and that the answer is not correct however it has been explained by the old commentator i.e., Sayana who has already made this meaning, so why do you want to turn away from it? Against Sayana Bhashikar, can we present Dayanand as the truth? In contrast to Sayana Bhashikar, one would call Dayanand a schoolboy, and then that Bhashikar belongs to the ancient past. And that by virtue of order the meaning of the Vedas that has been given by Sayana Bhashikar is above all whether you accept these meanings now or not, in any case……”””

The Description of `Isa and the Miracles He Performed

Allah states that the good news brought to Maryam about `Isa was even better because Allah would teach him,

﴿ ٱلۡكِتَـٰبَ وَٱلۡحِكۡمَةَ ﴾

(the Book and Al-Hikmah). It appears that the `Book’ the Ayah mentioned here refers to writing. We explained the meaning of Al-Hikmah in the Tafsir of Surat Al-Baqarah.

﴿ وَٱلتَّوۡرَٮٰةَ وَٱلۡإِنجِيلَ ﴾

(the Tawrah and the Injil). The Tawrah is the Book that Allah sent down to Musa, son of `Imran, while the Injil is what Allah sent down to `Isa, son of Maryam, peace be upon them, and `Isa memorized both Books. Allah’s statement,

﴿ وَرَسُولاً إِلَىٰ بَنِىٓ إِسۡرَٲٓءِيلَ ﴾

(And will make him a Messenger to the Children of Israel) means, that Allah will send `Isa as a Messenger to the Children of Israel, proclaiming to them,

(I have come to you with a sign from your Lord, that I design for you out of clay, a figure like that of a bird, and breathe into it, and it becomes a bird by Allah’s leave). These are the miracles that `Isa performed; he used to make the shape of a bird from clay and blow into it, and it became a bird by Allah’s leave. Allah made this a miracle for `Isa to testify that He had sent him.

﴿ وَأُبۡرِئُ ٱلۡأَڪۡمَهَ ﴾

(And I heal him who is Akmah) meaning, `a person who was born blind,’ which perfects this miracle and makes the challenge more daring.

﴿ وَٱلۡأَبۡرَصَ ﴾

(And the leper) which is a known disease,

﴿ وَأُحۡىِ ٱلۡمَوۡتَىٰ بِإِذۡنِ ٱللَّهِ‌ۖ ﴾

(And I bring the dead to life by Allah’s leave).

Many scholars stated that Allah sent every Prophet with a miracle suitable to his time. For instance, in the time of Musa, magic was the trade of the time, and magicians held a high position. So Allah sent Musa with a miracle that captured the eyes and bewildered every magician. When the magicians realized that Musa’s miracle came from the Almighty, Most Great, they embraced Islam and became pious believers. As for `Isa, he was sent during a time when medicine and knowledge in physics were advancing. `Isa brought them the types of miracles that could not be performed, except by one sent by Allah. How can any physician bring life to clay, cure blindness and leprosy and bring back to life those entrapped in the grave Muhammad was sent during the time of eloquent people and proficient poets. He brought them a Book from Allah; if mankind and the Jinn tried to imitate ten chapters, or even one chapter of it, they will utterly fail in this task, even if they tried to do it by collective cooperation. This is because the Qur’an is the Word of Allah and is nothing like that of the creatures.

`Isa’s statement,

﴿ وَأُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا تَأۡكُلُونَ وَمَا تَدَّخِرُونَ فِى بُيُوتِڪُمۡ‌ۚ ﴾

(And I inform you of what you eat, and what you store in your houses) means, I tell you about what one of you has just eaten and what he is keeping in his house for tomorrow.

﴿ إِنَّ فِى ذَٲلِكَ ﴾

(Surely, therein), all these miracles,

﴿ لَأَيَةً۬ لَّكُمۡ ﴾

(is a sign for you) testifying to the truth of what I was sent to you with,

﴿ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤۡمِنِينَ • وَمُصَدِّقً۬ا لِّمَا بَيۡنَ يَدَىَّ مِنَ ٱلتَّوۡرَٮٰةِ ﴾

(If you believe. And I have come confirming that which was before me of the Tawrah,) affirming the Tawrah and upholding it,

﴿ وَلِأُحِلَّ لَڪُم بَعۡضَ ٱلَّذِى حُرِّمَ عَلَيۡڪُمۡ‌ۚ ﴾

(and to make lawful to you part of what was forbidden to you.)

This part of the Ayah indicates that `Isa abrogated some of the Laws of the Tawrah and informed the Jews of the truth regarding some issues that they used to dispute about. In another Ayah;

﴿ وَلِأُبَيِّنَ لَكُم بَعۡضَ ٱلَّذِى تَخۡتَلِفُونَ فِيهِ‌ۖ ﴾

(And in order to make clear to you some of the (points) in which you differ) (43:63).

`Isa said next,

﴿ وَجِئۡتُكُم بِـَٔايَةٍ۬ مِّن رَّبِّڪُمۡ ﴾

(And I have come to you with a proof from your Lord.) “Containing affirmation and evidence to the truth of what I am conveying to you.”

﴿ فَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ • إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ رَبِّى وَرَبُّڪُمۡ فَٱعۡبُدُوهُ‌ۗ ﴾

(So have Taqwa of Allah and obey me. Truly, Allah is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him (Alone).) for I and you are equal in our servitude, submission and humbleness to Him,

﴿ هَـٰذَا صِرَٲطٌ۬ مُّسۡتَقِيمٌ۬ ﴾

(This is the straight path.)

_____________________________________________________________________________________________
https://alislam.org/quran/app/3:48

The news of a son, however happy in ordinary circumstances, greatly perplexed Mary who was not only as yet unmarried but was also meant to remain so for life. The verse reflects her justified perplexity. It also shows that Jesus had no father, as hinted in Mary’s words, no man has touched me. Having been dedicated to the service of the Temple, Mary could not, consistently with her vow of celibacy, marry. If she was to marry and have children in due course there was no occasion for her to be surprised when the birth of a child was announced to her by the angel in a vision. No normal girl would be surprised if she were told in a vision that a son would be born to her; for she would naturally infer that the promised child would be born to her after marriage. In the Gospel of Mary, the vow of celibacy is clearly referred to. In chapter 5 of the said Gospel we read that when the high priest made a public order that all the virgins living in the temple who had reached their fourteenth year should return home, all the other virgins yielded obedience to this command, but “Mary the virgin of the Lord” alone answered that she could not comply with it; and for this refusal of hers she assigned the reason that both she and her parents had devoted her to the service of the Lord, and that she had vowed virginity to the Lord, which vow she was resolved never to break (Gospel of Mary, 5:‍4, 5, 6).

Mary’s subsequent marriage with Joseph was thus contrary to the vow and against her own wish. She was, however, compelled by circumstances to marry when found with child. The priests had to arrange her marriage with Joseph in order to avoid scandal. It does not, however, appear from the Gospels how Joseph was prevailed upon to consent, for he was obviously in the dark about her being pregnant at the time of marriage (Matt. 1:‍18, 19). Presumably some plausible excuse was found to justify the breaking of the vow.

Christians and Jews are both agreed that the birth of Jesus was something out of the ordinary–the Christians holding it as supernatural and the Jews as illegitimate (Jew. Enc.). Even in the family birth register, Jesus’ birth was recorded as such (Talmud). This fact alone should constitute a sufficient proof of Jesus’ birth being out of the ordinary. But it was neither supernatural nor illegitimate. To quote only one medical authority: “Medical men have not ruled out altogether the possibility of natural parthenogenesis of the production of a child by a female, without any relation to a male. Such a statement off-hand appears ridiculous, yet its possibility, from a purely biological standpoint, under certain conditions cannot be disregarded. Dr. Timme calls attention to this possibility as the result of a certain type of tumours, known as arrhenoblastoma (from the Greek words for “male” and “germ”) which are occasionally found in the female pelvis or lower body. These tumours are capable of generating male sperm cells. Naturally, if these male sperm cells were alive and active and came in contact with the female’s own egg cell or ovum, conception might occur. There is nothing illogical in this process of reasoning…Dr. Timme states that there are twenty authentic cases reported in Europe in which an arrhenoblastoma had been found to develop male sperm cells…The arrhenoblastoma is a tumour that contains blastodermic cells…These cells are creative structures and are capable of development at any time and the fact, therefore, that arrhenoblastoma containing these “embryonic cells” might create testicular tissue, capable of producing male sperm cells seems scientifically not impossible. If living male sperm cells are produced in a female body by arrhenoblastoma, the possibility of self-fertilization of a woman, even though a virgin, cannot be denied. That is to say, her own body would produce the same result as though sperm cells from a man’s body had been transferred to hers in the more usual way, or by a physician’s aid” (American Medical Journal).

There are cases on record of children having been born without fathers: “A young girl of great moral purity became pregnant without the slightest knowledge of the source… There is a case of pregnancy in an unmarried woman, who successfully resisted an attempt at criminal connection and yet became impregnated and gave birth to a perfectly formed female child” (Anomalies and Curiosities of Medicine by George M. Gould, A.M., M.D., and Walter L. Payle, A.M., M.D., published by W. B. Saunders & Co., London).

https://alislam.org/quran/app/19:23

Commentary:

How Mary came to conceive Jesus without the agency of a husband is one of those divine secrets which at present may be considered beyond human intellect to fathom. It may be regarded as above the ordinary natural law as we now know it. But the knowledge of man, at best, is limited. He has not been able to comprehend all divine secrets. There are mysteries in nature which man has not been able to solve as yet; perhaps he may never be able to solve them. Among them may be included the fatherless birth of Jesus. God’s ways are inscrutable and His powers limitless. He Who could create the whole universe by uttering the word, کن (be), surely can bring about such changes in matter as should make this apparently insoluble mystery yield to a solution.

Medical science, however, has not altogether ruled out the possibility, from a purely biological standpoint, under certain conditions, of natural parthenogenesis or the production of a child by a female without any relation to a male. Medical practitioners call attention to this possibility as a result of a certain type of tumour, which is occasionally found in the female pelvis or lower body. Such tumours which are known as arrhenoblastoma are capable of generating male sperm cells. If living male sperm-cells are produced in a female body by arrhenoblastoma the possibility of self-fertilization of a woman, even though virgin, cannot be denied. That is to say, her own body would produce the same result as though sperm-cells from a man’s body had been transferred to hers in the usual way, or by a physician’s aid. Recently a group of gynaecologists in Europe have published data to prove instances of childbirth where the mother had had no contact with a male (Lancet). For a detailed note on parthenogenesis see 3:48.

Jesus’ birth is perhaps not altogether unique in this respect that he was born without the agency of a human father. Cases are on record of children having been born without fathers for which see Enc. Brit. under “Virgin Birth” and “Anomalies and Curiosities of Medicine” published by W. B. Saunders & Co., London.

If we dismiss all these possibilities, then Jesus’ birth will have to be regarded, God forbid, as illegitimate. Christians and Jews are both agreed that the birth of Jesus was something out of the ordinary—the Christians holding it as supernatural and the Jews as illegitimate (Jew. Enc.). Even in the family birth register, the birth of Jesus was recorded as such (Talmud). This fact alone should constitute a valid proof of Jesus’ birth being out of the ordinary. Joseph, Mary’s husband, according to the Gospels, had not established conjugal relations with her till after the birth of Jesus (Matt. 1:‍25). So the words, ‘she conceived him’, refer to this extraordinary conception of Mary without the agency of any man.

The words, ‘a remote place’, refer to Bethlehem which is about seventy miles south of Nazareth. There Joseph took Mary sometime before Jesus’ birth which took place in that town.
