Intro
In 1897, MGA was claiming that prophecy of Musleh Maud hadn’t been fulfilled yet. Check out Bro Imtiaz’s video herein and Bro Adnan Rashid and Uncle Jamal ud Din discussed it in Punjabi at speaker’s corner in July-2025.
Mirza Mubarak Ahmad seems to have been born on June 14th, 1899 (See Al-Hakam online archives, via twitter) and died on September 16th, 1907 (he died at the age of 8)(See Tadhkirah too). Mirza Mubarak Ahmad was the youngest son of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad.
In 1899, on June-25, the Aqiqah ceremony of Mirza Mubarak Ahmad was announced (See the Al-Hakam, vol. 3, no. 23, dated 30 June 1899, pp. 6-7, Via Malfuzat-2, Online English Edition, pages 24-25).
In 1902, via the publishing of “Tiryaq ul Qulub” (See page 40), under the 25th sign, MGA writes that he considers the birth of Mirza Mubarak Ahmad as a divine promise, there are other comments too. In the 1960’s, the Lahori-Ahmadi’s, via Mumtaz Ahmad Faruqi (See Truth Triumphs, page 31) alleged that Mirza Mubarak Ahmad was named the Musleh Maud (see refs in the below). MGA also alleged that Mubarak Ahmad spoke twice in his mother’s womb (Tiryaqul-Qulub Page 119 (arabic edition), Tiryaqul-Qulub Page 80 (Lahori-Ahmadi version online), Ruhani Khazain, Volume-15, page 217, Tiryaq ul Quloob page 41). MGA was calling Mirza Mubarak Ahmad as “Spark in the light of Allah” and claimed that he would cure people and his fame would spread throughout the world.
In 1906 (July-8), Mubarak Ahmad, was down with measles and was very agitated and restless. He spent one night tossing and turning, with hardly a moment’s sleep. The following night even worse signs appeared and, in a state of unconsciousness, he was tearing his flesh apart
and was delirious. His body had a terrible itch. MGA alleges that he prayed and suddenly I saw in a vision that there were numerous mice-like creatures on his bed that were biting him. Then someone rose up and gathered and wrapped all those animals in a sheet and told me to throw it out. And then the state of vision ended. I know not whether the state of vision ended first or whether the illness ended first. The boy slept comfort ably until the morning. As God Almighty has granted me this special miracle from Himself, I, therefore, proclaim it with certainty that nobody on the face of the earth can compete with me in this miracle of healing the sick. And if someone tries to compete with me in this, God shall put him to shame, for this is a special gift of God bestowed upon me to show miraculous Signs. This does not mean, however, that each and every patient I pray for will recover; rather, it means that most of the patients will surely be cured at my hand. (See “Haqiqatul Wahi”, online English edition, page 110).
In 1907 (May-15), via the publishing of “Haqiqatul Wahi”, MGA alleged that he Mirza Mubarak Ahmad had died and MGA revived him via prayer (see page 108 and 324, footnote, online English edition). On pages 276-277 (sign No. 38), MGA alleged that the birth of Mirza Mubarak Ahmad was prophesied and he was “alive and well”. MGA alleged to have seen a vision in 1904 wherein Mirza Mubarak Ahmad ate too much salt and almost died, MGA alleged to have ran him over to a well and made him drink water to save his life (see “Haqiqatul Wahi” page 488, footnote, online English edition, Sign No. 186). MGA even alleged to have to seen a dream wherein Mirza Mubarak Ahmad had came running into their house and slipped and fell and began bleeding, MGA alleged that this happened soon thereafter (see “Haqiqatul Wahi” page 487, footnote, online English edition, Sign No. 185). MGA was bragging how Mirza Mubarak Ahmad was alive during his Mubahila with Abdul Haqq (see “Haqiqatul Wahi” page 446, footnote, online English edition).
In 1907 (Aug), MGA claimed on August 29, 1907 that his god told him that Mubarak would recover. MGA foretold on August 27, 1907 (Al Badr, August 29, 1907, p. 4) that Mirza Mubarak would recover as Yalash LA told him. However, he died on September 16 and all the publishings after September 16 backdated MGA’s prophecies and claimed that he received the revelations on his death before September 16. We challenge Qadianis to show something published before September 16. On the contrary, we only see the prophecy for his recovery.
In 1907 (Sep), the marriage of Mirza Mubarak Ahmad and Abdul Haye is announced (See Al-Badr of Sep-5-1907 and via Bro Imtiaz, 31:22). Abdul Haye is marrying the daughter of Pir Manzur Muhammad (father of the other Muhamadee Begum)(this marriage was later annulled). Mirza Mubarak Ahmad is marrying Maryam, the daughter of Dr. Abdul Sattar Shah, she only 2 years old.
In 1907 (Sep-16), Mirza Mubarak Ahmad died on 9-16-1907 (see the the Al-Badr of 9-17-1907). Allegedly on Sep-16-1907, the day that Mirza Mubarak Ahmad died, MGA said that Mirza Mubarak Ahmad had recovered completely from the actual ailment. He had regained full health. There was no sign of fever at all. He repeatedly asked to be taken to the garden. He had a great liking for the garden, so he went there. However, MGA then says that his God had given the news of his death at the very time of his birth (in 1899 via Tiryaq ul Qulub) (See Al-Hakam, vol. 11, no. 34, p. 5–6, dated 24 September 1907, Via Malfuzat-9, pages 394-403).MGA also alleges that on Sep-15-1907, Mirza Mubarak Ahmad called me and put his hand in my hand and shook my hand as if he is departing for some place now and greeting me for the last time. Dr. Khalifah Rashid-ud-Din reported to the Al-Hakam that a few days ago MGA had said that he had seen in a dream that a death was to take place in this house and a goat had been slaughtered. As Maulawi Noor-ud-Deen was unwell in those days, an apprehension arose concerning him. Nawwab Muhammad ‘Ali Khan, Dr. Abdus-Sattar Shah, and he himself—all three—were a witness to this. Sayyid Mir Hamid Shah reported to the Al-Hakam that his mother had seen a dream (the morning of (9-24-1907) wherein there were four shining stars of Your Holiness (MGA’s 4 sons), one of them fell and entered the earth. Then Dr. Khalifah Rashid-ud-Din said, people used to call Mubarak Ahmad, Wali, wali [‘Friend of Allah, Friend of Allah’]. Then MGA said: Yes, Wali is verily the one who is destined for Paradise. It is also noted that the grave of Mirza Mubarak Ahmad was at quite a distance from the other graves in Bahishti Maqbara (this was most likely because he died of plague). MGA responded to this by fabricating a silly dream which is so nonsensical I can’t make sense of it.
In late Sep-1907, (Al-Hakam, vol. 11, no. 34, p. 8–9, dated 24 September 1907
Malfuzat-9, Online English Edition) MGA said that he didn’t care if 2000 Mubarak Ahmad’s had died.
On Nov-10-1907, MGA and his team of writers published an announcement in the Al-Hakam and Al-Badr of Nov-10-1907 (See the scans in the below)(Via Majmua Ishtiharat, V-3, pages 461-467). Bro Imtiaz explained it in full detail herein (1:19:40). This announcement is about Maulvi Sanaullah, the death of Mirza Mubarak Ahmad, Abdul Hakim Patialvi and a new promised son (Musleh Maud?).
After MGA died, Nuzul ul Masih was published in 1909, in this book, MGA’s team of writers assert that MGA knew all along that Mirza Mubarak Ahmad would die, which is a farce.
In 1909, in the book, “Nuzul-ul-Maseeh” (see page 197), MGA compared Nusrat Jehan with Muhammad’s (Saw) wife, Khadija (ra). MGA and his team of writers alleged that in Barahin-i-Ahmadiyya, V-4, page 558, MGA received a revelation “Be grateful to Me that you have found My Khadija” and this was a prediction of a happy marriage with Nusrat Jehan, however, this revelation is not found anywhere in MGA’s books. MGA even alleged that this happy marriage resulted in 4 sons (however, Mirza Mubarak Ahmad died in 1907, making it 3). MGA alleged that Nusrat Jehan was given the name of “Khadija” and she was blessed to be the mother of blessed progeny. MGA also alleges that Nusrat Jehan is Sadat and thus from the family of Muhammad (Saw)(naozobillah).

Anjam-e-Athim, pg. 14, appendix, (1897), also see, Mumtaz Ahmad Faruqi, Truth Triumphs, page 31.
“…then there is another ilham which is proclaimed on 20th February, 1886, and that was that God will increase Three into Four. At that time there was no sign of my three sons (mirza Mahmud Ahmad, Mirza Bashir Ahmad and Mirza Sharif Ahmad) who are present now ; so it seemed that the ilham meant that first of all three sons will be and then another one will be added who will make the number four. So a greater part of this Ilham is fulfilled as God has given me three sons from this marriage (the second wife) who are here ; and the next one is awaited who will increase the number into four”

The Aqiqah of Sahibzadah Mirza Mubarak Ahmad
The aqiqah of Sahibzadah Mubarak Ahmad Sahib was set to take place on Sunday the 25th of June. His Holiness had entrusted the arrangements for this occasion to Munshi Nabi Bakhsh Sahib. On the day, however, since it was raining, a very cold wind was blowing and there was a dark overcast of clouds, these arrangements could not materialise. The Promised Messiah
as retired to get some rest and our friend who was responsible for organising everything also went to sleep at home. When the morning had advanced, the Promised Messiah as came out and remarked that he could see no arrangements for the aqiqah. As people from the village had been invited and certain friends had arrived from other places as well, His Holiness felt a sense of worry for the unreasonable inconvenience that the guests were made to suffer. On the other hand, our friend, Nabi Bakhsh Sahib was extremely perturbed and regretful, as he thought to himself: ‘What explanation will I give to the Promised Messiah as?’ Munshi Sahib presented himself before the Promised Messiah as and begged for pardon. The Promised Messiah as—the generous man and gracious guide that he is—is not harsh or unjustly critical in nature. The Promised Messiah as said: “All right, رِّدُا قَمَعِلُف (What was destined, has come to pass).” However, our sensitive friend, Munshi Sahib, could not sit at ease. He was writhing at heart, felt regretful, and would try and do whatever he could. Upon witnessing his state of emotion, His Holiness was reminded of a dream that he saw fourteen years ago which alluded to the fact that he would be blessed with a fourth son, whose aqiqah would take place on a Monday.
The joy that the Promised Messiah as felt due to the fulfilment of this divine indication
and due to the wondrous power of God Almighty, dispelled all our feelings of disappointment and frustration at the lack of preparations. The following day on Monday, when all of us, the servants of the Promised Messiah as, were sitting in the inner courtyard of his house, and the head of Sahibzadah Mubarak Ahmad Sahib was being shaved, the Promised Messiah as passionately related this dream”””.

Haqiqatul-Wahi – Philosophy of Divine Revelation

“””41th sign was that , almost 20-21 years earlier I published an advertisement that God has promised to bless me with four sons who will live long. This prophecy is mentioned in Muwahib ur Rahaman page 139.i.e All praise and glories be to Allah Who blessed me with four sons in old age and fulfilled His promise. So these are four sons Mehmood Ahmed, Bashir Ahmed, Sharif Ahmed and Mubarak Ahmed who are present and alive .””
[One Hundred Fifty-Ninth] Sign—On page 58 of my book [Damimah] Anjam-e-Atham1 is recorded the prophecy in respect of Maulawi ‘Abdul-Haqq Ghaznavi which runs as follows:
After the mubahalah with ‘Abdul-Haqq, God Almighty blessed me with prosperity in every respect, increased the number of my followers to thousands, convinced hundreds of thousands of my scholarship, blessed me with the birth of another son raising the number [of sons] to three in conformity with the revelation, and then repeatedly revealed to me about a fourth son. I assure ‘Abdul-Haqq that he willnot die until he hears of the fulfilment of this revelation. If he amounts to something, he should delay this prophecy by supplication. Refer to page 58 of my book [Damimah] Anjam-e-Atham. This is the prophecy that was made about [the birth of ] my fourth son. Then, two and half years after this prophecy, the fourth son was born during the very lifetime of ‘Abdul-Haqq. He was named Mubarak Ahmad who, by the grace of God Almighty, is alive till now. In case ‘Abdul-Haqq has not yet heard about the birth of this son, I hereby communicate it to him.”””

2) MGA’s curse fell upon his family as always and just over 2 weeks later (September 16, 1907), the son died contrary to the prophecy.
3) The next day after Mubarak’s death, MGA fabricated a dream after the fact as always, where he saw Mubarak drown.

Mirza Mubarak Ahmad dies.
EPITAPH ON THE GRAVE OF MIRZA MUBARAK AHMAD
Lauhe Mizar Mirza Mubarak Ahmad
Written September 1907
A piece of my heartMubarak Ahmad
Whose face was pure and who was pure of traits
He has parted from us today
After making our heart stricken with grief.
UNTITLED
Al-Fazl, 7 July 1943
Once in her childhood, Seyedah Nawab Mubarka Begum complained to MGA (her daddy) that her brother, Mirza Mubarak Ahmad, had become upset with her and could not be pleased in anyway. MGA, who was writing a book at the time, wrote the following verses which, when recited in front of her brother by Seyedah Nawab Mubarka Begum, pleased him greatly.
I have never teased Mubarak;
Such a thing has never entered my mind.
How can I tease my brother
Isn’t he the son of my mother?
O God, pray forgive my error,
For there is no Lord-of-the-Worlds other than Thee.

Allegedly on Sep-16-1907, the day that Mirza Mubarak Ahmad died. MGA said that Mirza Mubarak Ahmad had recently recovered completely from the ailment and had regained full health. 11, no. 34, p. 5–6, dated 24 September 1907, Via Malfuzat-9, pages 394-403). MGA also alleges that on Sep-15-1907, Mirza Mubarak Ahmad called me and put his hand in my hand and shook my hand as if he is departing for some place now and greeting me for the last time.
Dr. Khalifah Rashid-ud-Din reported to the Al-Hakam that a few days ago MGA had said that he had seen in a dream that a death was to take place in this house and a goat had been slaughtered. It is also noted that the grave of Mirza Mubarak Ahmad was at quite a distance from the other graves in Bahishti Maqbara (this was most likely because he died of plague). MGA responded to this by fabricating a silly dream which is so nonsensical I can’t make sense of it:
“”Sometimes if the father sees a dream, it means his son, and if the son sees a dream, then it means the father. Once I came here (to Bahishti Maqbarah[—The Heavenly Graveyard]) in a dream and instructed the grave diggers that my grave should be away from others. Exemplary Patience and Gratefulness
MGA said:
Some ignorant ones think that the death of Mubarak Ahmad has been a cause of some extreme grief and bereavement for us. They are unaware as to how much God Almighty has consoled, comforted, and expressed His pleasure with us through His pure revelation. God Almighty has expressed pleasure over our patience and gratefulness, and the patience of Mubarak Ahmad’s mother; He has given us the promises of victory and support, and has said that He will be with me at every step. These are such expressions that the mother of Mubarak Ahmad said, ‘God’s pleasure is so dear to me that if two thousand Mubarak Ahmads were to die, I would not be aggrieved.’

Nov 5-10
On Nov-10-1907, MGA and his team of writers published an announcement in the Al-Hakam and Al-Badr of Nov-10-1907 (See the scans in the below)(Via Majmua Ishtiharat, V-3, pages 461-467). Bro Imtiaz explained it in full detail herein (1:19:40). This announcement is about Maulvi Sanaullah, the death of Mirza Mubarak Ahmad and a new promised son (Musleh Maud?) and how local newspaper like the Akhbar-e-Aam and others are saying that MGA’s prophecies failed and biggest sign is the death of MGA’s 7 years old son, Mirza Mubarak Ahmad.
In this announcement, MGA says that people are showing happiness at the death of Mirza Mubarak Ahmad. MGA says that people are saying that the death of Mirza Mubarak Ahmad is a sign that MGA lost a Mubahila (with Abdul Hakim Patialvi and Maulvi Sanaullah). MGA and his team of writers tell a bold face lie and allege that MGA has tried to make the children of his opponents as signs of truth (1:22:09). However, this is a lie, in Jan-1907, a Muslim opponent of MGA named Saadullah died and MGA had prophecied that he not have children. In 1906-1907, via “Haqiqatul Wahi”, MGA mentions Abdul-Haqq Ghaznavi 6 times (see pages 306-307). MGA specifically under sign #92, and sign #159 (page 444). MGA alleges that Maulawi Abdul Haqq Ghaznavi had no children and thus lost the Mubahila (see page 445). MGA alleged that Maulawi Abdul Haqq Ghaznavi‘s brother died and he married the widow and she is now pregnant. MGA argues that in contrast, he was given 4 sons and hundreds of thousands of rupees (page 551).
Also in this announcement, MGA alleges that he knew 2-3 years ago (1904-1905 era)(Kayn Burse) that Mirza Mubarak Ahmad would die young (1:25:09). MGA then alleges that he has already announced that this child would not survive. MGA also alleges that when his God told him that Mirza Mubarak Ahmad would die, MGA’s God also said that those will be bitter days in his life (like sad and shameful)(1:26:18). MGA alleges, besides these, there were many additional revelations which were explicit/clear/open about the impending death of Mirza Mubarak Ahmad. MGA alleges that many years ago he predicted the death of Mirza Mubarak Ahmad in newspapers like Al-Badr and Al-Hakam. These prophecies were clear and without a shadow of doubt that Mirza Mubarak Ahmad would not reach the age of adulthood and would die as a minor (it was destined, muqarram).
Also in this announcement, MGA alleges (via Bro Imtiaz, 2:31:52) that when Mirza Mubarak Ahmad died (9-16-1907), MGA’s god sent him another fresh revelation about a boy who will be just like Mirza Mubarak Ahmad, a replica. This was because MGA’s God didn’t want his enemies to be happy, and it will be as-if Mirza Mubarak Ahmad never died. However, MGA died himself about 8 months later. MGA then says that his God will make his children a very powerful people (2:39:10).
Also in this announcement, MGA mentions the prophecy vs. Dr. Abdul-Hakim Khan (from Patiala)(via Bro Imtiaz, 2:42:29) and how it started in July 1907 and was for 14 months (scheduled to end in Sep-1908). MGA says that his life will be prolonged, and he will win (see the “Age Prophecy“). MGA told Ahmadi’s to memorize and print this announcement (2:49:37) and post it on their walls. MGA also says that he knows the deaths of his close relatives (bahot qareeb mutalaqeen 2:52:34) is nearing.

“”And for the sake of the path, it has forced me that I am in charge of making things known and not denying them, and to establish the listeners on those matters that will strengthen their faith and increase their knowledge, and establish them on the right path. be done It should be clear that I have read in the first column of this week’s Akhbar Aam that some short-sighted people have expressed great joy over the death of my son Mubarak Ahmed. Rather, in some other newspapers, this incident has been shown with a lot of force, and it has been painted as if it proves that one of them is victorious in the fight. We do not want to write more in this place because God Almighty is sufficient to punish falsehood.
It should be clear that I have not entered into such a relationship with anyone that would make the children of another party false in such a way that if the son of that party dies, he will remain a liar, but I always want him to be the same. Mirza Mubarak Ahmad is mentioned in Nuzul ul Masih, via tadhkirah, Nuzulul-Masih, p. 220, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 18, p. 598
“””Once I saw in a dream that my fourth son Mubarak Ahmad had died. Within a few days, he had high fever and lost consciousness eight times. The last time it appeared as if his life had come to an end. I began my supplication on his behalf and while I was so occupied I heard everyone say: ‘Mubarak Ahmad has died’. I placed my hand on him and there was no pulse or breathing and his eyes seemed petrified like those of a corpse. But my supplication brought an extraordinary change and by my putting my hand on him he began to revive and the signs of life returned. Then I announced in a loud voice to those present: If Jesus son of Mary brought any dead person back to life, it would have been nothing more than this. That is, he would have revived someone near to death like this and not one whose soul might have reached the heavens and conveyed by the Angel of Death to its last resting place.”””

The glad tiding of a blessed son
The glad tiding of a blessed son
The opponents of the Promised Messiah, Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmadas of Qadian, refer to an announcement of the Promised Messiahas that he issued on 5 November 1907. They say that he prophesied in the announcement, after the death of his son, Mubarak Ahmadra, that God would grant another son in Mubarak Ahmad’sra place.
The opponents suggest that this prophecy was not fulfilled because no other son was born after Mubarak Ahmadra.
In reality, these opponents have neglected to mention the complete statement of the Promised Messiahas that he issued in the announcement. Sadly, they do this in order to mislead and misinform others.

Below is the actual announcement of the Promised Messiahas regarding his son, Sahibzada Mirza Mubarak Ahmadra:
“Soon after the demise of Mubarak Ahmad, God Almighty sent this revelation:
انا نبشرک بغلام حلیم ینزل منزل المبارک
“Meaning, ‘We give you glad tidings of a son who will be gentle and will be [born] in the station of Mubarak Ahmad and will be his replacement and will resemble him.’ Hence, God did not desire that the enemy rejoice. Therefore, He gave the good news of another son shortly after Mubarak Ahmad passed away, so as to realise that Mubarak Ahmad had not died and is alive. He turned towards me and stated in a revelation:
انّی اریحک و لا اجیحک و اخرج منک قوما
“That is, I shall comfort you and shall not uproot your progeny and shall raise a great people from your progeny. These are the words of God which shall be fulfilled at the appointed time. If some people of this age will attain a long life, they will witness the glad tiding foretold by God today – that it will manifest with absolute glory, strength and power. The words of God cannot be averted and will manifest. That God who protected Prophet Abrahamas, then Mosesas and then Jesusas, and after all of them, our master and chief, the Holy Prophetsa, from deadly and bloodthirsty enemies, will save me as well.” (Majmua Ishtiharat, Vol. 3, pp. 587-588)
It is quite evident from the above extract that the opponents have pointed out the first part of the statement for the sake of raising an objection but the second part has either been overlooked or deliberately omitted because it presents a series of other revelations which also explain the prophecy highlighted by the opponents. Looking at the complete excerpt, it is clear that the Promised Messiahas was given the following glad tidings by God Almighty:
1. Another son would be born who would be an embodiment of Mubarak Ahmadra
2. The progeny of the Promised Messiahas would not be uprooted and in fact, a “great nation” would be born from his progeny
3. As Abrahamas, Mosesas, Jesusas and the Holy Prophetsa were protected by deadly and bloodthirsty enemies, the Promised Messiahas too would be safeguarded. As these prophets were guarded from being murdered by their enemies, he would be saved as well In accordance with the above prophecies, God Almighty caused the progeny of the Promised Messiahas to spread to such an extent that his family members can be found in every continent of the world.
Moreover, his enemies were not able to harm him in any manner. Hence, if these prophecies were not from Allah Almighty and had these revelations been fabricated by the Promised Messiahas, then surely, the All-Powerful God would have annihilated him through the hands of his opponents and his progeny would have ceased as well. As far as the prophecy about his son, Sahibzada Mirza Mubarak Ahmadra is concerned, he was born to the Promised Messiahas on 14 June 1899.
Mentioning the revelations which were revealed to the Promised Messiahas regarding Sahibzada Mirza Mubarak Ahmadra, Hazrat Maulvi Abdul Karimra Sialkoti wrote:
“A day prior to and a day after the birth of Mubarak Ahmad, God Almighty, through the tongue of the son, revealed the following revelation to the Promised Messiahas:
انّی اسقط من اللہ واصیبہ
“That is, ‘I fall upon the earth from the Hand of Allah and shall proceed towards Him.’ After this, it was revealed:
کفیٰ ھذا
“[‘This is enough.’]” (Al Hakam, 30 June 1899)
Regarding the same revelation, the Promised Messiahas states:
“I received the revelation just prior to his [Mubarak Ahmad’s] birth:
انّی اسقط من اللہ واصیبہ
“That is ‘I fall upon the earth from the Hand of Allah and shall proceed towards Him.’
“My own interpretation of this revelation is that either this boy will be righteous and will face towards God and will move towards Him or that he will die early. Allah alone knows which of these two interpretations is in accordance with His design.” (Taryaqul-Qulub, Ruhani Khazain, Vol. 15, pp. 213-214)

According to the second interpretation of the above prophecy by the Promised Messiahas, which was recorded in his book, Taryaq-ul-Qulub on 20 August 1899, his son, Sahibzada Mirza Mubarak Ahmadra passed away on 16 September 1907.
The fulfillment of this prophecy is a clear manifestation of the truthfulness of the Promised Messiahas. However, only those people attest to this truth who fear God Almighty, as it is stated in the Holy Quran:
ھُدًی لِّلْمُتَّقِیْنَ
“It is a guidance for the righteous.” (Surah al-Baqarah, Ch.1: V.3)
The act of not mentioning various other revelations that were present in the same extract shows that the opponents were aware of the fact that they might have been fulfilled and in their view, only the prophecy regarding Sahibzada Mirza Mubarak Ahmadra could have been objected to.
To establish the truthfulness of a prophet we only need to look at the example Allah has set for us in the Holy Quran. During the incident of Prophet Mosesas, the Holy Quran talks about a person who secretly believed in Mosesas:
“And a believing man from among the people of Pharaoh, who kept hidden his faith, said, ‘Will you slay a man because he says, “My Lord is Allah,” while he has brought you clear proofs from your Lord? And if he be a liar, on him will be the sin of his lie; but if he is truthful, then some of that which he threatens you with, will surely befall you. Certainly, Allah guides not one who exceeds the bounds and is a great liar.’” (Surah al-Mumin, Ch.40: V.29)
The words, “if he is truthful, then some of that which he threatens you with, will surely befall you” signify that the truth of a prophet can be tested through the fact that some of the prophecies will surely be fulfilled before the people of that time. Hence, some of the prophecies present in the statement of the Promised Messiahas were clearly fulfilled, which are the proof of his truthfulness. Moreover, as it has been previously mentioned that a day before the birth of Sahibzada Mirza Mubarak Ahmadra, the Promised Messiahas was foretold by God Almighty, “کفیٰ ھذا” i.e. this [son] is enough, indicating that no other son would be born to him in future.
After this revelation, when his last son passed away on 5 November 1907, the Promised Messiahas received this glad tiding:
انا نبشرک بغلام حلیم ینزل منزل المبارک
“We give you glad tiding of a gentle son. He will resemble Mubarak Ahmad.”
Comprehending the above prophecy in light of the revelation, “کفیٰ ھذا”, shows that the Promised Messiahas was not foretold about his own physical son, but in fact he was given the news of a son from his progeny who would carry the traits of Sahibzada Mirza Mubarak Ahmadra.
In this way, the prophecy bore the glad tidings of the birth of his first grandson, Hazrat Sahibzada Mirza Nasir Ahmadrh, who was born on 16 November 1909, and would later become the third Khalifa of the Ahmadiyya Jamaat on 8 November 1965.
The opponents are mistaken in suggesting from the prophecy of a son that he must be the physical off spring of the Promised Messiahas because Allah the Almighty had not declared in the revelation that the blessed son would be born in his lifetime.
On the other hand, the glad tiding of a son could also refer to a grandson. This is indicated in the Holy Quran. Regarding Hazrat Sarah, Allah Almighty states:
فَبَشَّرۡنٰہَا بِاِسۡحٰقَ ۙ وَ مِنۡ وَّرَآءِ اِسۡحٰقَ یَعۡقُوۡبَ
“We gave her glad tidings of the birth of Isaac and, aft er Isaac, of Jacob” (Surah Hud, Ch.11: V.72).
However, Prophet Jacobas was not the physical male off spring of Hazrat Sarah but in fact, her grandson.
Similarly, it is stated in the Holy Quran about Prophet Abrahamas:
وَ وَہَبۡنَا لَہٗۤ اِسۡحٰقَ وَ یَعۡقُوۡبَ
“And We gave him Isaac and Jacob” (Surah al-Anam, Ch.6: V.85).
The fact that prophet Jacobas was the grandson of Abrahamas and not his actual son, shows that the prophecy of a son could also refer to a grandson. Moreover, it should be borne in mind that the word “son” signifies son, grandson, great grandson, or any one of the progeny of an individual. Countless examples of such use are found in Arabic.
For instance, most of the tribes were named aft er honourable ancestors and their people were called their sons. The Umayyad and Abbasid tribes are very famous in the history of Islam. Harun al-Rashid and Mamun al-Rashid are commonly referred to as the sons of Abbas, but in reality they are not his own physical off spring.
Similarly, Khalifa Marwan and Umar ibn Abdul Aziz are called the sons of Umayya, but they were not his actual sons. Hence, according to the custom of humanity, where every Syed calls himself the son of the Holy Prophetsa and everyone is called the sons of Adam etc., the Promised Messiahas was given a glad tiding of a son from his progeny by God Almighty and the prophecy was fulfilled in the person of Hazrat Sahibzada Mirza Nasir Ahmadrh.
