Intro
Uptil 1901, MGA had lost every single case against his cousins/uncles at Qadian. From the famous settlement of 1865, to the court case of 1877-1882 (after MGA’s dad died), which caused MGA’s brother Mirza Ghulam Qadir so much grief that he died relatively young and Mirza Sultan Ahmad was forced to become the family leader at Qadian. We all know that MGA and his family were above the law in British-India. They could do no wrong in the eyes of the British. MGA always got a chair in court, whereas his opponents were made to stand.
By 1897 (See Anjam-e-Athim, via Tadhkirah), MGA was publishing revelations about his uncles/cousins and claiming that his God told him that he would never accept any prayers vs. MGA’s cousins/uncles (aka collaterals). However, this would prove wrong when MGA won the case of the Wall in 1900-1901 (See Haqiqatul Wahy, online english edition, pages 340-349). Nevertheless, MGA published the same revelation again in 1906-1907 via Haqiqatul Wahy and posthumously the same revelation was published in Nuzul ul Maseeh (published in 1909).
This case was filed by MGA vs. his cousin Mirza Imam ud din for constructing wall on 7 Jan 1900 to block the through-way from Masjid Aqsa to Masjid Mubarak (and MGA’s house)(See Life of Ahmad by Dard). The land where the wall had been built had been owned by Mirza Imam Ud Din for over 20+ years, and he had won a court case vs. his own relatives (Mirza Ghulam Jilani). However, MGA’s lawyer (Khwaja Kamaluddin) looked up the famous settlement of 1865 and saw that MGA’s father was also named as an owner of the same piece of land. With this new evidence, MGA won the case.
MGA showed up to court on July 16th, 1901 (See Mujadid-e-Azim, abridged english edition). The Case was decided in favor of MGA by the Court of Shaikh Khuda Bakhsh District Judge Gurdaspur on 12 Aug 1901 and the wall was demolished on 20 Aug 1901 (See Seeratul Mahdi). Dard report that Mirza Imam ud din and his brother Mirza Nizam Din were forced to pay MGA 147 rupees for damages and the wall had to be demolished. Read the full case settlement in Dard. Ahmadis report that the debt was then transferred to Mirza Nizam Din, however, MGA seems to have arrogantly refused it. He seems to have died shortly after Aug 31, 1904.

1865
The Mirza family sues each other over land disputes (see dard page, 714). Mirza Ghulam Murtaza is also a party to a law-suit between Ghulam Jeelani (also spelled Jilani) and Imam Din. Jeelani was given 2/5 of the 700 rupees as well as many parcels of land. Imam Din won the case with Mirza Ghulam Murtaza also an owner. This would play out later in the case of the wall.
According to the Settlement of 1865 (with the British govt. see Punjab Chiefs), the Mirza estate was divided into five parts; two-fifths belonged to the descendants of Mirza Tasadduq Jilani, two fifths to those of Mirza Gul Muhammad, and one-fifth to Mirza Ghulam Murtaza as the managing proprietor (see Dard page 68). In fact, Mirza Ghulam Murtaza was the “head of the family”, even the Punjab Chiefs, his name is listed under the header. That the pension was for 700 rupees, and it was given to the entire family, the 4 mirza brothers, not simply to MGA’s father, who was the leader of the entire family, the settlement of 1865, wherein 2/5th’s of the 700 rupee pension was divided. The Mirza estate was divided into five parts; two-fifths belonged to the descendants of Mirza Tasadduq Jilani, two fifths to those of Mirza Gul Muhammad, and one-fifth to Mirza Ghulam Murtaza as the managing proprietor (see Dard page 68).

1877–1882
After the death of Mirza Ghulam Murtaza, his nephews took Mirza Ghulam Qadir and his MGA to court over the land that was given to Mirza Ghulam Murtaza. Since he was given 1/5th separately. MGA’s cousins won the case, thus, when Mirza Sultan Ahmad came into power (1883) he immediately transferred the land to his cousins (see Dard, page 69-70). This would come to play out in the case of the wall in 1901.

There is a famous account of a court case about a wall that was built by some family members of the Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) at such a place that their way to the mosque was blocked and it obstructed those who came to offer Prayers at the mosque. Although Hazrat Musleh Maud was a child at the time, he clearly recalled that some relatives used to plant stakes in the ground around the area so that people coming to the mosque would stumble in the dark. Some Ahmadis wanted to take the wall down but the Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) told them that they should be steadfast and obey the law. Hazrat Musleh Maud (may Allah be pleased with him) used to see true dreams even at a young age. He had a dream that the wall is being taken down and Hazrat Maulawi Nur ud din Sahib (may Allah be pleased with him) is coming from the direction of the mosque. When, after the decision of the court, time to take the wall down came, after delivering his dars at the mosque, Hazrat Maulawi Nur ud din Sahib (may Allah be pleased with him) walked towards the wall and remarked that young Mahmood’s dream had been fulfilled.
