In January of 1891, MGA had made his claim that he was the “Promised Messiah”. However, in the same year he began to allege that he had been claiming to be Maseel-e-Maseeh (and Mujadid and inspired via prophethood) since 1880 (See (see Nishan Asmani, online english edition, page 61 and Izala Auham). This is a lie! MGA never claimed so in any book before Izala Auham. MGA always back dated his claims, in the Barahin-i-Ahmadiyya (vol. 1–4), MGA never straight forward claimed to be the “Maseel-e-Maseeh”.

In 1944, as the 2nd Khalifa claimed to be the “Musleh Maud”, he also announced himself as the “Masil-i-Masih” and as the “zilli” messiah, however, he meant like MGA, not like Jesus (as)(See ROR of March-1944).

“I have claimed to be Maseel Maseeh, which stupid people think that it is The Promised Messiah.  I have never claimed to be the Messiah ibne Maryam. Anyone who accuses me of it, he is absolutely a liar and fabricator. For the last eight years, I have been announcing that I am only Maseel Maseeh; By that I mean that certain spiritual properties and nature and habits and virtues of Jesus(AS) has been given to me as well by God Almighty.”
