“Ahmad’s Place Among The Prophets”–Review of Religions, Part 1 thru 4, October -1914 to February 1915

Intro
Dear readers, we have found another interesting series of articles from the English version of the ROR of 1914, this comes from an essay series entitled, “Ahmad and Jesus as Prophets”, which seems to go back to 1911. We had published an entry referring to an essay of 1913 which had a similar title. In April of 1913, they changed the title to simply “Ahmad as a Prophet” Part-1. By February of 1914, “Ahmad as a Prophet* came out Part-2, Ahmad as a Prophet, February 1914). Muhammad Ali added an asterisks and claimed that MGA was only a prophet in the Arabic sense of the word, thus laying the foundation for the split that happened just a month later. In March of 1914, Part-3 of the series was published, this was specifically covering the age prophecy of MGA which had failed (Ahmad as a Prophet, March 1914). In the ROR of April-1914, “Ahmad as a Prophet Part-4” was published. Ahmad as a Prophet, April-1914, pages 136-143. In September of 1914, “Ahmad as a Prophet Part-5”, September 1914, pages 320-337 was published, this edition covered MGA’s prophecies about his sons, namely the Musleh Maud Prophecy, of Feb 20th, 1886, which is quoted herein, for this entire series of essays, no author is names, Maulvi Sher Ali was the main editor, since Muhammad Ali had moved to Lahore. Part-5 was the final essay in this series.

“A Mighty Prophecy Fulfilled in the Balkan War” by the editor of the Review of Religions

Intro
It should be noted that just in March of 1913, in the English Review of Religions, the losses of the Ottoman Empire were reported via an essay on the Balkan War. The Ottoman Empire had lost mostly all of their european possessions. However, in late June, the Ottoman Empire invaded again and gained land via the Treaty of Constantinople which was signed in late September of 1913. Up to this point, the Ahmadiyya Movement didn’t give any indication that MGA had any revelations about the fall and re-gain of the Ottoman empire.

We have found an un-dated Ahmadiyya pamphlet, which matched the August edition of english Review of Religion’s of 1913, Maulvi Sher Ali was the editor at that time. The title is “A Mighty Prophecy Fulfilled in the Balkan War” by the editor of the Review of Religions. You can read about the Balkan Wars herein as needed. Nevertheless, the Maulvi Sher Ali was claiming that the losses suffered by the Ottoman Empire were predicted by Mirza Ghulam Ahmad back in 1904 (See the refs in the below). They also claim that MGA had predicted the partition of Bengal. They also assert that MGA had prophecies about Persia, Korea and Japan come true.

However, the revelation that was given by Maulvi Sher Ali in 1913 doesn’t appear in any Ahmadi literature ever again until Tadhkirah in 1935. Sher Ali claims that it was a revelation from January 4th, 1904, thus, it makes this revelation easy to find. We have found it in the 1976 english edition of Tadhkirah, however, Zafrullah Khan translated the Urdu word ________ as Byzantines, and thus confused the reader, it should have read Romans. In the 2006 edition of Tadhkirah, it says the same (Byzantines). In the 2009 english edition of Tadhkirah, it appears as “Romans”. The 2018-2019 edition also says “Romans”. Its unclear what the urdu editions of 1935, 1965, 1969 and 2004 have to say.

“My Attitude Towards the British Government” (1895) by Mirza Ghulam Ahmad

Intro
In late 1894, MGA made an announcement which was converted into a book that seems to have been lost by Ahmadiyya sources. It is also called, “A Refutation of an Incorrect Statement”. MGA starts off by telling us how the Civil and Military Gazette of Oct. 24th-1894 had called MGA as someone who had evil intentions. This book was printed at the “Mitra Vilasa Press” in Lahore. MGA signed off with the date of Dec-10, 1894.

Who is Hakim Fazl Din of Bhera?

Intro
He was also from Bhera like his close friend and brother-in-law, the famous Maulvi Noorudin.  He seems to have owned and operated the famous press in Qadian wherein the majority of MGA’s books and announcements were published from.

In 1890, he was mentioned by MGA as a sincere friend in his book, “Fath e Islam”, or in english as “The Victory of Islam” (see the Lahori-Ahmadi translation)(See ROR of June-July-1940).

In 1895, Hakim Fadal Din started a press at Qadian. It was named Diya’ul Islam press. This press produced MGA’s publications at cost price (MGA’s statement in Karam Din’s case, Section 420. I.P.C. dated. 19.8.1903). It was for this reason that MGA produced, on 15.8.1898 a detailed account of this press in the income tax case. (See statement of Hakim Fadl Din in Karam Din’s case on 20.7.1903)(See Dard also).

In 1896, he is listed in the first 313 list of Ahmadi’s. He is #23. He already had 2 wives by 1896. The status of his children are unknown.

In 1904, he was MGA’s co-defendant in the famous Karam Din defamation case wherein MGA had initially lost (see Also Tadhkirah).

In 1909 he died. His property at Qadian seems to have donated to the Sadr Anjuman at Qadian (see page 90, “Mujahid-e-Kabir”). The Anjuman wanted to sell the property at full price. (See pages 251-257 of “Truth About the Split”). The Khalifa wanted the property to be sold to last owner before Hakim Fadl Din, however, the Sadr Anjuman disobeyed the Khalifa and sold the property to the highest bidder (See also “Haqiqat ul Ikhtlaf” [1922], page 70).

“Kishti-Nuh” publish dates, in english as “Noah’s Ark” (1902)

Intro
We have come across some interesting information on MGA’s book, “Kishti-Nuh”, which was published on Oct 5th, 1902, as indicated by the Cover of the original edition. Although the title of the book displays the date 5 October 1902, its publishing had already begun in Al-Hakam newspaper by 24 September 1902, which continued to be published in 5 consecutive issues of the newspaper in the form of a series. Below are those dates of Al Hakam newspapers in which Noah’s Ark was published:

– The first 25 pages of Noah’s Ark were published on 24 September 1902, page 1 to 12

– Pages 25 to 48 of Noah’s Ark were published on 30 September 1902, page 1 to 7

– Pages 49 to 62 of Noah’s Ark were published on 10 October 1902, page 1 to 7

– Pages 62 to 72 of Noah’s Ark were published on 17 October 1902, page 1 to 7

– Pages 72 to 76 of Noah’s Ark were published on 24 October 1902, page 1 to 3

Hence, Noah’s Ark was already being published in Al Hakam from 24 September 1902, prior to its publication in book form. A 4-page-english translation by Ch. Abdul Hasham (M.A., living in Qadian) can be found in the ROR of June-1944.

Mirza Ghulam Ahmad and Coco Wine

Intro
Roughly 7-8 years after MGA died (1915), Maktubat-4 was published by the Qadiani-Ahmadi’s. In this book of letters, MGA has a letter to Dr. Khalifa Rasheeduddin wherein MGA admitted to drinking Scottish Emulsion and Co Co Wine. It should also be noted that there are advertisements for Scottish Emulsion in every single edition of the early Al-Hakam newspaper. As we all know, MGA used alcohol, wine and opium in his medicines and lied about it. Check out this youtube video (Urdu), wherein some Ahmadi’s admitted that MGA drank alcohol and then blamed Muhammad (saw)(naozobillah), Azim Saifi recently did the same.

Furthermore, allegedly, MGA’s wife, (Nusrat Jehan) started taking tonic wine immediately after Mirza Mubarak Ahmad was born in 1899. This is the famous case of MGA ordering tonic wine from Plommers shop in Lahore. In that same era, Mirza Mubarak Ahmad was also given port wine, since he was sick.  MGA also kept Saturnes wine. MGA and Noorudin would take wine and opium as needed, it was not a big deal. they gave it out like candy. Mirza Ghulam Ahmad used poison, opium and wine in his medicines too. This was all very normal for life at Qadian. Opium was another drug in heavy circulation at Qadian, and MGA never admitted to its usage, nor did MGA ever admit to having wine in his house. MGA took coco wine also and Scottish Emulsion. There is another entry from Seeratul Mahdi wherein MGA was giving out alcohol also. It should be noted that MGA slept semi-naked at Qadian, and since there weren’t any street lights, the residents of Qadian would walk around naked in the dark.

Dr. Khalifa Rasheeduddin was a rich follower of MGA, he was a MBBS physician, he died in 1926. He was a resident of Lahore and remained posted as a Medical Professor at the Lahore Medical College and at various places of India. He was a close friend of Dr. Abdul Hakeem Khan Patialvi, who famously left Ahmadiyya in 1906. MGA and Khalifa Rasheed ud Din had lots of correspondence via letters. In Maktubat Vol.4, which covers the period from 1892 to 1905, these letters are published. Almost all the letters that Mirza wrote to him contained MGA’s request for money, medicines and other items. MGA also sent peoples to him for help as mentioned by him in letters. MGA asked for the hand of daughter of Dr. Khalifa Rashiduddin in Nikah for his son Mirza Bashiruddin Mahmoud before the girl had reached adult age. His daughter was married to Mirza Basheer-ud-Din Mahmud Ahmad and had 9+ children.

MAKTUBAT E AHMAD VOL-4 PAGE-248 and 249

My dear brother Dr. Khalifa Rasheeduddin sb,

Assalamo Alaikum wrwb,

Rs.29/- as sent, has been received and has been distributed as desired. As advised by you, I have stopped taking “Arq e Kafoor” (Camphor extract) and started using Coco Wine and Scottish Emulsion instead. However, it is surprising to note that once I used this, next night I felt great distress at night. I felt myself very hot and wished to remove all my cloths out of body heat. I don,t know why I was feeling so hot when it was so cold and peoples were using warm clothes. I felt my pulse rate was also high. I thought i must drink that old arq e Kafoor. Then I drank it along with Arq e Khajoor. It restored my health condition and soon I got well. Rest is Ok.

Humble self

Mirza Ghulam Ahmad.

“Mighty Signs of the Living God” by Mirza Basheer ud Din Mahmud Ahmad (the Khalifa)–April 1917

Intro
We have recently found this book. It first appeared the ROR of Feb-March-1917. The publish date seems to be April 4th, 1917.

It was published during WW-1. The Ahmadiyya Khalifa was trying to prove that some of MGA’s revelations became true. They claim that the Tsar of Russia was predicted to fall by MGA. Nicholas II or Nikolai II (RussianНикола́й II Алекса́ндровичtr. Nikolai II Aleksandrovich; 18 May [O.S. 6 May] 1868 – 17 July 1918), known as Saint Nicholas the Passion-Bearer in the Russian Orthodox Church, was the last Emperor of Russia, ruling from 1 November 1894 until his forced abdication in 15 March 1917. His reign saw the fall of the Russian Empire from one of the foremost great powers of the world to economic and military collapse.

“Jihad and the British Government” the original edition by Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (1900) in English

Intro
We have found the original edition of “Jihad and The British Government” by Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (1900, English and Urdu), which was edited and translated into English by Maulvi Muhammad Ali, who would eventually become a Lahori-Ahmadi. The Qadiani’s might have never published this since it was translated by Muhammad Ali, instead, they published a new translation in 2006. The Lahori-Ahmadi’s published their English edition in 2011.

As we all know, MGA really was trying to abrogate Jihad altogether, he was also planning on claiming to be a law-bearing prophet. However, he died suddenly in May of 1908 and all of those plans were stopped. Nevertheless, an Ahmadi, Zahir ud Din, claimed in 1911—1913 era that MGA was a law-bearing prophet. Noorudin was even telling Ahmadi’s that even if MGA claimed law-bearing prophethood, all Ahmadi’s should still accept him. This book was also posted in the ROR of Nov of 1911.

Nowadays, #Ahmadis are on social media lying and telling people that MGA never claimed to be the reincarnation of Eisa (as), Muhammad (Saw) and many others. However, MGA straight up claimed it in 1900, via “The British Government and Jihad”(see pages 32-34, online English edition). You can also listen to Amir Haq explaining it herein.

“Gift of the Empress” (Tuhfa-e- Qaisariyyah) by Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (1899)

Intro
This is a lesser-known pamphlet that MGA and his team wrote. In 2012, it was mis-translated into English.

In 1897, via Tohfaa-e-Qaysariyyah (see RK-12, page 273-Urdu)(39:19 time stamp)(See page 10 of the online English edition), MGA argued that he is that person, with whom the ruh of Yasu-Maseeh (Eisa [as]) “sukhoonat rakhtee hai” (takes residency). In other words, the ruh of Eisa (as) came to Earth and is now residing in MGA (naozobillah).

In Tohfaa-e-Qaysariyyah (RK, v. 12, p. 264), MGA and his team of writers wrote that my jamaat is a loyal army for the British Government. This Mahdi will not be involved in any armed conflict against the British government.
