Mirza Ghulam Ahmad and his Mubahila with Abdul Haq Ghaznavi (1891–1907)

Intro
MGA seems to have had a Mubahila challenge with Abdul Haq Ghaznavi, which started in 1891 (“Life of Ahmad” by Dard). Ahmadiyya sources tell us that Abdul Haq Ghaznavi, a follower of Abdul Jabbar and a disciple of the famous Ahl-e-Hadith Imam Maulawi Abdullah Ghaznavi (1811–1881), began a Mubahila with MGA in 1891 over the topic of the death of Esa (As)(see Life of Ahmad by Dard, page 239). The whole affair finally ended with the humiliating death of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad Qadiani on the 26th of May 1908CE / 24th of Rabi-us-Sani 1326 AH, while Maulana Abdul Haqq Ghaznavi outlived Mirza by nine years and died on 23rrd of Rajab 1335 AH / the 16th of May 1917.

The Muslims of India and the entire world believed that Jesus was sitting alive in the heavens in his physical body. Abdul Haq Ghaznavi declared on the basis of his ‘revelations’ that MGA was an infidel and that he would be thrown into hell because he claimed to be the like of Jesus (as). This Ishtihar was widely distributed by the followers of Abdul Jabbar, and MGA received a copy on February 9th, 1891. Thus, he wrote a letter to Maulawi Abdul Jabbar about the challenge, saying that he believed Abdul Haq to be a follower of his. In this letter MGA affirmed that he had claimed to be the Promised Messiah on the basis of direct revelation received from on high. He made it clear that Jesusas had died and could not come again. He admitted the possibility of the advent of other Messiahs also (see Life of Ahmad by Dard, page 239).

MGA was prepared to enter into Mubahala if necessary though, according to his own belief, Mubahala was not necessary or permissible to settle minor differences of opinion amongst Muslims. Anyhow, if eminent mullahs like Nadhir Husain of Delhi, Muhammad Husain of Batala and Ahmadullah of Amritsar signed a fatwa to the effect that Mubahala was permissible in such cases, then he would have no course left open but to go to Amritsar for the purpose
of the Mubahala and Abdul Haq must in that case bring with him his family and his friends, as required by the Holy Quran. This letter is dated February 11th, 1891, and was published in a supplement to the Riayd-e-Hind, Amritsar, dated March 15th, 1891, pages 1-4 (see Life of Ahmad by Dard, page 239–242). In response to this Abdul Haq issued another Ishtihar: If Mubahala was not permissible amongst Muslims, why had MGA asked Maulawi Muhammad Ismael through the pages of his book, Fath-e-Islam, to hold a Mubahala with him?

In May 1893, when Mirza Qadiani was debating Athim at Amritsar, he was challenged by Molana Abdul Haq Ghaznavi for a Mubahila after the end of his debate with Athim. Mirza replied that he would do it during debate with Athim so Mirza reached the venue on 27 May, 1893 at Eidgah ground Amritsar along-with his 25 close Mullahs. Both parties prayed may Allah’s curse fall upon the liar’s and may he be humiliated publicly so that masses could see and differentiate between the liars and truthful. Athim famously debated MGA starting on May-22-1893 at the bungalow of Dr. Henry Martyn Clark. It ended on June 5th, which is 15 days later.

In 1894, MGA complained that Mian Sanaullah, Saadullah, Abdul Haq, and others, having conceded the victory of the Christians, why do they complain about the Christians that they use their alleged victory as an argument against Islam (see the Anwar ul Islam quote). This caused MGA to begin cussing at Muslims for siding with Christians.

In 1897, via “Anjam-e-Athim” and “Hujjatullah” (Arabic only), MGA talked about the wife of Abdul Haq Ghaznavi and said that she hadn’t had any sons. In “Hujjatullah”, he accused Abdul Haq Ghaznavi of being the son of a prostitute (baghaya) and dancing like a prostitute. Abdul Haq Ghaznavi also accused MGA of not knowing proper arabic

In 1900, MGA alleged that Tohfa-e-Golarhviyyah and Tohfa-e-Ghaznaviyyah were also about
Maulawi Abdullah Ghaznavi and his friends (See Arba’in, page 38, 1900).

In 1905, while in Amritsar, MGA reportedly mentioned the Mubahila with Abdul Haq Ghaznavi (see full ref in the below).

In 1906-1907, via “Haqiqatul Wahi”, MGA mentions Abdul-Haqq Ghaznavi 6 times (see pages 306-307). MGA specifically under sign #92, and sign #159 (page 444). MGA alleges that Maulawi Abdul Haqq Ghaznavi had no children and thus lost the Mubahila (see page 445). MGA alleged that Maulawi Abdul Haqq Ghaznavi’s brother died and he married the widow and she is now pregnant. MGA argues that in contrast, he was given 4 sons and hundreds of thousands of rupees (page 551).

Compilation of Ahmadiyya views on Homosexuality

Intro
In this post, I’d like to compile all the things Ahmadiyya leaders, their official websites & other publications have told about homosexuality, whether positive or negative.

First of all, I’d like to share this presentation, which u/BarbesRouchechouart found on Lajna (Women’s Wing of Ahmadiyya) USA’s official website.  Here’s the link: http://www.lajnausa.net/web/webfiles/Tabligh/Islam%20&%20homosexuality.pdf

Some Quotations from the Presentation

Yeah, “homosexuals & sexual predators”

“”””Adolescence is a time of experimentation and self-discovery. A young teen who is vulnerable and not guided and protected can be easily influenced by homosexuals and sexual predators*. Though this is a phase, some never leave this adolescent experience.”””

Transgenders have a “demon” inside them.

“””Here are a rare number of people who may be an exception and have a predisposition to behave like the opposite gender. Khalifa IV describes this person has having a “demon” inside and a personal dilemma which must be battled and suppressed.”””

Recommends against giving rights and recognition given to homosexuals. Don’t want homosexual people to come out and have a life of authenticity.

“””this is demonstrated by the fact that, as more recognition and rights are given, the number of gay people around the world has grown enormously.”””

Terrible excuses for the legalization of same-sex marriages by Imam Azhar Haneef, Faith Matters (MTA program)

– All the scriptures prescribe marriage only between a man and a woman.
– Marriage/nikah has to be entered with taqwa (fear/consciousness of God); is not compatible with homosexuality
– Marriage without God’s approval cannot have His favor and blessings -the couple cannot follow the model of the

– Prophet (saw) -the couple is choosing each other over God; cannot succeed

-does not meet one of the main purposes of marriage which is procreation

Tip for LGBTQ

“”””they should pray for a change within themselves rather than entering this relationship which is not permitted.”””

Why Homosexuality is dangerous?

“”””Homosexual behavior is detrimental to societies and nations and can lead to their destruction.”””

Recommends against being friends with homosexuals.

Two issues with gay friends: 1. UnIslamic influence: many gays are outspoken about their sexual lifestyle. Even though you are not part of that lifestyle, they are sharing their experiences and beliefs with you as a friend. This makes it harder for you to uphold Islamic beliefs about your friend’s orientation.

“O ye who believe, be mindful of your duty to Allah and keep company with the righteous”(9.119). “O ye who believe! Take not others than your own people as intimate friends; they will not fail to corrupt you…We have made clear to you Our commandments, if you will understand.” (3:119)

NOTE: I’d like to point out that in a Q&A session Mirza Masroor Ahmad, Current Khalifa of Ahmadiyya, said there’s nothing wrong with being friends with a gay person as long as that behavior of the said person does not influence the Ahmadi friend.

The 4th Khalifa said this in “Islam’s response to contemporary Issues”;

P97 – “When there is no God-made law to be accepted, and absolute ethical values and noble traditions are challenged and defied daily, any legislation to discipline moral behaviour also becomes lax and more accommodating. The very platform, on which laws pertaining to moral behaviour are founded, begins to slip away. A comparative study of legislation in this area over the last few centuries would effectively prove the case in point. Gone are the days of Oscar Wilde when homosexuality was considered a crime by society, which would most mercilessly punish it. Gone are the days of chastity not being just a virtue but a social trust which, if violated, would be brought to account. This softening on crime is no longer seen as alarming.”

“”””While addressing the point that there may be some evidence that homosexuality is a genetically determined behaviour, Hazrat Khalifatul Masih Vaba said that even if this was the case, it still does not warrant the intense propaganda to legalise and promote homosexuality*. It is possible that in any community, a tiny minority may have such inclinations; according to an estimate the law of same-sex marriage was brought about in Canada for just 500 cases!* It is wiser to manage homosexuality by keeping such practices concealed. The underlying principle here is that of protection of the vulnerable members of the society. His Holiness expressed concern that in this day and age homosexuality is being promoted as fashion.

His Holiness advised that if Ahmadis should find themselves faced with such temptations, they should offer Istighfar(prayer offered to seek Allah’s forgiveness), remove themselves away from any situations that may trigger these desires*; then gradually they will be able to overcome these temptations. In response to a question, Hazrat Khalifatul Masih Vaba explained that homosexuality is a learned behaviour and stressed that the practice of homosexuality is inappropriate.* His Holiness warned that by accepting, promoting and legalising such actions, nations can find themselves on the path to destruction. The wrath of God destroyed one nation which insisted on this behaviour despite repeated warnings. His Holiness stressed that homosexual tendencies cannot be called a disease. Such behaviour is the product of  the environment; people are attracted to same-sex relationships because of their social interactions. When exposed to a certain kind of environment, the psychology of certain individuals can be affected and they become drawn to homosexual behaviour.  His Holiness warned that turning this individual behaviour into a national characteristic leads to destruction.””””

Now some quotes by Mirza Masroor Ahmad:

Mirza Masroor Ahmad, has said that Homosexuality is not a disease but a behavior which is the product of the environment a person lives in.

I am sure there are more quotable remarks made by Mirza Masroor Ahmad. Also, I am fairly certain previous Khalifas, Ahmadiyya Sadrs, Amirs and other official heads and perhaps even Masih Moud (Mirza Ghulam Ahmad) have written or said things about Homosexuality. I recommend others to post such material they know of so that this thread could be a go-to resource for anyone who wants to explore the things Jama’at have said or wrote of the whole LGBTQ issue.

Mirza Ghulam Ahmad supported polygamy as a way of expanding the Ahmadiyya Movement

Intro
Mirza Ghulam Ahmad came from the “the Ahl-e-Hadith” sect of Islam. Thus, MGA retained many of the backwards values in terms of women and child marriage and many others. As we all know, in 1889, Noorudin took on a second wife, MGA was already with his second wife and was seeking a third (Muhammadi Begum). We have found a reference from the current Khalifa to add to this story. See in the below. Mirza Masroor Ahmad relates a story from the 2nd Khalifa about Noorudin and MGA.

The quote
“”””Hazrat Musleh Maud (may Allah be pleased with him) writes that once the Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) said to Hazrat Mualana Nur ud Din that one way of expanding our community was to have many children and for this purpose more than one marriage should be undertaken. Hazrat Mualana Nur ud Din most humbly said he was ready to obey the instruction but who would wed their daughter to him at his age. This made the Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) laugh.””””   (Friday Sermon by Mirza Masroor Ahmad, Nov. 13th, 2019).

Who is Mirza Wasim Ahmad? The 1/2 Arab son of Mirza Basheer-uddin Mahmud Ahmad?

Intro
Mirza Wasim Ahmad, also spelled as Mirza Waseem Ahmad (Mian Waseem) was one of 23 children of Mirza Basheer ud Din Mahmud Ahmad. His mother was from Saudi Arabia, her name was Aziza Begum also called Umm-e-Wassim (mother of wassim). The Khalifa Married her in 1926, she was the daughter of Seth Abu Bakr Yousaf of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. According to tareekh ahmadiyyat, vol 4 page 554, it goes “Hazrat Khalifa tul Masih 5th Nikah was 1st Feb 1926, also published in the Alfazal of 5th Feb 1926. The Khalifa claims that Seth Abu Bakr of Jeddah was a business man who had written to the Khalifa in 1914 in terms of marriage for his daughter, the Khalifa agreed 10 years later, and was finally married in 1926, the details and logistics are unknown (See Fazl e Omar, online english edition). Was this arab even an Ahmadi?

We have found a book by the Ahmadiyya Movement about their history in Calcutta, this is also covered by me herein. This booklet is dated as 12-1-1979 and signed off by the Ameer of the Calcutta Qadiani’s, Md. Noor Alam Ahmadi. A grandson of MGA, Mirza Wasim Ahmad was in-charge of all the Indian missions of the Qadiani’s from 1977 until he died in 2007. He was made as totally in-charge of Qadian. In Urdu he was the Nazir Aala & Ameer Jamaat Ahmadiyya Qadian until his death. The first Ameer in Qadian was the late Hazrat Maulvi Abdur Rahman. Mirza Wasim Ahmad was also the chairman of the governing body of Bahishti Maqbara.

In 1924, the Ahmadiyya Khalifa traveled from India to England and stopped in Egypt, Damascus and why?

Intro
The family of Mirza Basheer uddin Mahmud Ahmad was above the law in British India. His travel dates were July 12th, 1924 to November 24th, 1924 (see Tarikh e Ahmadiyya)(See also ROR of 2008). As soon as he returned to Qadian, he got all the reports of the “goings-on” while he was away. He received reports that his wife #2, Amtul Hai (age-24) was writing letters to various newspapers and telling them how bad her husband was. At this blog, we think that the British government had recently destroyed the Ottoman Empire and deposed of the most influential Islamic leader in that era and time and they were thus wanting to stop all islamic leadership via Khilafat. Nevertheless, the Qadiani-Ahmadi’s were claiming to have 500,000 Ahmadi’s in their fold.

In 1924, after WW-1 had ended a few years had passed, the British government held “The Conference of Living Religions Within the Empire” also called Wembley’s Conference of Living Religions 1924. Ahmadiyya sources claim that the Khalifa was there for the 1st session only and never gave any speeches. While the Khalifa was in London, Zafrullah Khan was also there, its unclear if they travelled together or separately. He gave a speech on behalf of the Khalifa to “The Conference of Living Religions Within the Empire” held in 1924. The English version of the book was first published under the title Ahmadiyyat or the True Islam in 1924 (see preface)(See also the ROR of Feb-1947). In 1976, it was re-published from Qadian, under the supervision of Mirza Wasim Ahmad (MGA’s grandson), and the name of the book was changed to “Ahmadiyya Movement”. Khwaja Kamal-ud-Din of the Lahori-Ahmadi’s was also in attendance.

The Ahmadiyya Khalifa was summoned to England by the Queen and other organizations and told about this new role in British India. As soon as he returned to India, Zafrullah Khan became the official Ahmadi representative to the Queen. The next time that the Khalifa left the Indian subcontinent would be in 1955.

The Khalifa travelled with 11 top disciples. Mian Rahim ud Din, Chaudhary Muhammad Sharif, Mirza Sharif Ahmad, Abdur Rahim Dard (previously known as M. Rahim Bakhsh), Sheikh Abdur Rahman Misri, Fateh Muhammad Sial, Maulvi Zulfiqar Ali Khan Gohar, Hafiz Roshan Ali, Abdur Rahman Bhai Qadiani, Dr. Hashmatullah Khan, Shaikh Yacub Ali Irfani.

What is “Anwar-ul-Islam”? A book by Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, quotes and background info

Intro
This book translates into English as “The Light of Truth”. It was published on September 6th, 1894 (See Muhammad Ali) as an Urdu book (see Hidden Treasures). Which was just 2 days after the Athim prophecy had expired. In this book, MGA continued to curse Muslims who supported Athim and other Christians vs. MGA. This is the book wherein MGA used the phrase “Waladul haraam” for Muslims!

Maulavi Muhammad Hussain Batalvi is mentioned in this book as is Abdullah Athim, Mian Sanaullah, Saadullah, and Abdul Haq. Most of these quotes come from major Ahmadiyya sources, like the 2009 online edition of Tadhkirah, Hidden Treasures, the Essence of Islam series and many others.

In this book, MGA and his team of writers sent registered letters to Abdullah Athim, Rev. Dr. Henry Martyn Clark and Padre Imad-du-Din (See Hidden Treasures).

Mirza Ghulam Ahmad and Yahya (as) aka John the Baptist

Intro
Factually, the Quran proves that prophets had been killed, see 2:61, 2:87, 2:91, 3;21, 3:112, 3:144, 3:181, 3:183, 4:155, 5:70 (that’s 10 verses) in fact, 3;144 of the Quran tells us that even if Muhammad (saw) was killed, it wouldn’t mean Islam is false.

In 1880-1882, via Barahin-i-Ahmadiyya (Vol. 3, see pages 157-158)(See also Farid Responds, prophecy #4, 6:38 time stamp), MGA said that since the Jews killed the prophets, they are forever cursed and will never have a homeland. Watch my video explanation here.

MGA mentioned the prophet Yahya (as) a few times in his writings. We have cataloged those instances in the below, it should be noted that MGA called Yahya (As) as a shaheed in 1891. However, 6-7 years later MGA began quoting 69:44 and arguing that prophets have never been killed (See Anjam-e-Athim).

In 1893, MGA mentioned Yahya (as) in “Barakatud Du‘a”, “Blessings of Prayer”, page 48. MGA made a comment that Allah Yahya (as) a boy.

In 1894, MGA argues that prophets getting killed does not disprove their claim and nor is it disrespectful. There are many prophets who were killed in their mission, Yahya (as) and his father (Zacharia [as]) are examples of this (1:32:50 time stamp)(See Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 7, p. 200, Hamamatul-Bushra).

In 1897-1900, Mirza Ghulam Ahmad invented the 23-year theory for Prophets, via opinion on 69:44. MGA argued that if anyone claimant of prophethood lives 23 years, then, they must be accepted as a true prophet (See the full ref in the below). MGA was arguing that true prophets of Allah were never killed, however, this is incorrect, per 2:61, 2:87, 2:91, 3;21, 3:112, 3:144, 3:181, 3:183, 4:155, 5:70 (that’s 10 verses).

In 1902, MGA contradicted himself and said (See Tohfa Golarvia, RK volume 17 page 103), he says death by killing of a prophet is no proof that the prophet is not a true prophet and then on same page later he says if Esa did not die on cross then Yahya (as) also did not get killed but was lifted up to heaven alive.

In 1902, MGA and his team of writers alleged that the Maseeh (Jesus) was not more pious than the righteous people of that period. Rather the Prophet Yahya (John) is superior to Maseeh because he did not drink alcohol and it was never heard that an unchaste woman came and anointed him with perfume of her unchaste earning or touched his body with her hands and hair. Or some non-mahram young women came to his service. That is the reason God called Yahya in Quran as Husoor (chaste) but He did not use such a name for Maseeh as such stories were prohibitive to name him so. Further, Hazrat Isa (AS) repented for his sins at the hands of Yahya who is called John by Christians and was made Elijah later on”. (Roohani Khazain, Dafi-ul-Bala- Volume 18 – Page 220)http://www.alislam.org/…/books/Defence-Against-Plague.pdf, Defence Against the Plague and a Criterion for the Elect of God (dafi ul bala translation) (p3).

Allegedly, in 1907, via Malfuzat-9 (published in 2024)(this is undated and might not be in the Urdu editions), MGA called Yahya (as) as a shaheed and even compared his qatal with the qatal of Syed Ahmad in Kashmir by the Sikhs and MGA’s father, Mirza Ghulam Murtaza.

However, in 2000, Mirza Tahir Ahmad (MTA) denied that Yahya (as) was killed and even asserted that he escaped and lived in Greece and died, however, MTA didn’t give any references (See on tiktok and twitter).

In 2021, in shameful way, Mirza Masroor Ahmad alleged that prophets had been killed and this rule only applies to the first or last prophet in a system or if Allah gave them a wahi about protection.

In 2024, Bro Imtiaz talks about Yahya (as) as Khusoorun (6:11:45 time stamp)(3:39, 3:40 in the Qadiani Quran) as he authenticated the biblical narrative that Eisa (as) drank alcohol/wine (astagfarullah). MGA was disrespecting Eisa (as) and saying that Yahya (as) was better than him based on the Quran (astagfarullah)(See also “Dafi-ul-Bala”, page-3, online english edition).

In 2025, Bro Imtiaz highlighted all of this in this video.

In 1955, the Ahmadiyya Khalifa toured Europe extensively, albeit with a piece of metal in his neck?

Intro
Its really hard to trust Ahmadiyya sources. The Khalifa wasn’t able to walk much of the early part of the 1950’s. Rashid Ahmad, the first African-American Ahmadiyya missionary tells us from his memories that the Khalifa suffered from gout and was thus unable to walk around Rabwah. Then, in the 1954, they claim that the Khalifa was stabbed in the neck and then was forced to visit Europe as he seeked treatment. Ahmadiyya sources tell us that even though the knife had been removed, there was still a small piece of the knife that was almost touching the Khalifa’s neck bones.

The 2nd Khalifa had decided to go to Europe in 1955 (Ahmadiyya sources allege that this was for medical treatment after he had got stabbed). Thus, the story starts on the night between 29 and 30 April 1955, the 2nd Khalifa and his entourage departed for Damascus from Karachi via a KLM flight.

On May 1st, 1955, the 2nd Khalifa and his entourage landed in Damascus from Karachi. He was received at the airport by Syed Muneer Al-Husni and allegedly scores of Arab members of the Damascus Jamaat and representatives from Pakistan’s embassy to Syria came to welcome the 2nd Khalifa. Those present included the sadr of Syria Jamaat, Munir al-Husni Sahib. Munir al-Husni Sahib’s wider family, who were successful Ahmadi Syrian businessmen, personally hosted the 2nd Khalifa with great love, sincerity and sacrifice. Badruddin al-Husani Sahib, the younger brother of Munir al-Husani Sahib, gave his large family home to the 2nd Khalifa and his family/entourage. The al-Husni family received special prayers and praise from the 2nd Khalifa. After arrival at the airport, Badruddin al-Husani Sahib’s female family members welcomed the 2nd Khalifa’s wives and female members of the family and took them to their home shortly after arriving. In 1955-56, Zafrullah Khan married a teenage palestinian refugee (Bushra Rabbani), who was already married, had hella sex with her, then let her go).

The 2nd Khalifa was accompanied by two of his wives, Maryam Siddiqa Sahiba (Umm-e Mateen), Syeda Bushra Begum (Mehr Apa), his son Sahibzada Dr. Mirza Munawar Ahmad Sahib, his two daughters, Amatul Jameel Sahiba, and Amatul Mateen Sahiba. Also accompanying the 2nd Khalifa was Sir Chaudhary Zafrulla Khan. (Tarikh-e-Ahmadiyyat, Vol. 16, pp. 502-503).

On 6 May 1955 the 2nd Khalifa met with some Syrian and Palestinian Ahmadis and discussed the issue of Palestine while speaking in Arabic. During the meeting, the 2nd Khalifa also discussed plans for the progress of the Jamaat in the Middle East and took counsel from Jamaat members. Due to his God-given planning qualities, the 2nd Khalifa established the Jamaat as an extremely well-organized body. In Damascus, he even planned for an Ahmadi school to be built there. (Silsila-e-Ahmadiyya, Vol. 2, p. 467).

On May 7th, he left Damascus for Beirut. He seems to have only stayed in Bierut, Lebanon for a day or so and quickly flew to Italy via Greece.

May 8th to June are unaccounted for.

June-4th to June 29 he was in Switzerland. Italy, Austria, Germany, the Netherlands and even Sweden?

By July 1955, he was in London and seems to have been in London. On July 29th, 1955, he led the Eid prayer at the Fazl Mosque. This speech was reproduced in the Muslim Sunrise of the 4th-Quarter-1955.

On 22 August 1955, the 2nd Khalifa, addressed a reception at the Grosvenor Hotel in London which was organised in his honour by Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya UK.

By Sep-1955, the 2nd Khalifa was back in Pakistan and at the Luxury Beach Hotel in Karachi and giving speeches. The speech was on Sep-21-1955, its unclear when the 2nd Khalifa arrived.

The Khalifa returned to Pakistan in 1955 and made his final public appearance in 1956. The next 9 years of his life were spent in pain and agony. The Khalifa appointed his eldest son, Mirza Nasir Ahmad to lead all the Friday sermons and to manage the day-to-day operations of the Ahmadiyya Movement. This data was posted by an Ahmadi on his twitter account. The Khalifa also seemed to start the process of getting a mission opened in Sweden.
