Intro
Mirza Bashir Ahmad was a son of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad who was named Qamrul Anbiyaa (the moon of the prophets) by his father. He was born in 1893 and died on September 2, 1963, at the age of 71. He was breast fed by Rasool Bibi (the wife of MGA’s toilet attendant Shaikh Hamid Ali). Ahmadiyya sources claim that he was in college from 1909-1916 and that he graduated in 1916 with M.A. in Arabic, however, this is a lie. He wrote the famous Kalimatul Fasl, which appeared in the urdu version of the ROR in 1915, and was made into a book in 1916. The first time that he was listed as “M.A.” was in the November-1916 edition of the English-ROR. From Jan-1923 to April 1932 he was listed as the editor of the ROR.

He helped his brother through the latter’s period as head of the Qadiani Ahmadiyya. This help came in the form of managing properties in Qadian and writing books and essays in the jamaat periodicals that ultimately proved to be quite controversial. His role and his works are now greatly minimized by the Qadiani establishment. Very few Ahmadis know know much about him and his writings. The picture in the above is from the 1924 edition of the Moslem Sunrise.

Seeratul Mahdi was collected, researched and published in 1923 by the Qadiani-Ahmadi’s and under the direct editing and supervision of Mirza Bashir Ahmad. The first volume of the first edition was published in 1923 with the second volume getting published in 1927. There seem to be only 2 volumes of the first edition. My team has translated the first 27 pages (narrations 1-48) and narrations 49-78 (see in the below).

The 2nd edition of Seeratul Mahdi (1935), it seems to have had at least 3 volumes, we have posted vol 1 and 3 in the below.

Seeratul_Mahdi_1935 edition, 2nd, Vol.1, narrations run from 1–304.

Seeratul_Mahdi_, April 1939, Vol-3, Narrations run from 472 -975.

It was also published from Qadian, from the house of Fakhr-uddin Multani, he seems to have owned a printing press “Ahmadiyya Book House” (Ahmadiyya Ghar house). Fakhr-uddin Multani left Ahmadiyya 2 years later and was killed in broad daylight in Qadian, right after the Friday prayer.

On the second page, it is written that Maulvi Sher Ali helped Mirza Bashir Ahmad with this collection, and it is better than the previous edition (and has many additions)(the 1923 edition). Ahmadi’s are editing the books of MGA all the time. They even edited Seeratul Mahdi from the 1935 edition to the 2008 edition in terms of MGA’s diarrhea spilling all around his bed.

_____________________________________________________________________________________________His marriage in 1902

His marriage was a child marriage, he was married to the daughter of Maulvi Ghulam Hasan Khan (who became a Lahori Ahmadi in 1914, and even refused to give his bait to the Khalifa, Noorudin) when he was only 9 years old: In 1902, the Promised Messiah asked for the hand of Maulana Ghulam Hassan Khan Niazi’s second daughter, Sarwar Sultan, for marriage with his son Mirza Mian Bashir Ahmad. The nikah was solemnized on September 12, 1902 and the nikah was conducted by Hakeem Nooruddin, who also delivered the khutba-e-nikah (marriage sermon). (Al-Hakm of 17 September 1902, 31 October 1902 and 17 November 1902. The full text of the khutba is also published in Khutbat-e-Nur(pp. 102-109). (The late Mirza Muzaffar Ahmad CSP, who had retired from the Civil Service of Pakistan and was residing in Washington, D.C. at the time of his death, is the son of Mirza Bashir Ahmad and Sarwar Sultan.  (http://aaiil.org/text/articles/hope/2009/hope200905_lifesketchghulamhassankhanniazi.pdf).

Via the ROR of Oct-1942, Mirza Aziz Ahmad states that he signed the bait form in his Grade-9 year. Mirza Aziz Ahmad says that Shaikh Yacub Ali Irfani took him to the Masjid Aqsa for Maghrib, where he alleges that he regularly prayed, he also claims that Mirza Basheer ud Din Mahmud Ahmad was also close by. Per the testimony of Mirza Aziz Ahmad, Maulvi Abdul Karim presented him to MGA for bait (see ROR of Oct-1942). The very next day, MGA held a dinner for Mirza Aziz Ahmad and even invited the young boys from his family like Mirza Basheer ud Din Mahmud Ahmad, Mirza Bashir Ahmad, Mirza Sharif Ahmad and Mir Muhammad Ishaq. At this dinner, MGA seems to have brought Mirza Aziz Ahmad back into his family, like officially, since he told Mirza Basheer ud Din Mahmud Ahmad that this was his nephew. MGA’s wife, Nusrat Jehan served them dinner on “takht-poshes”. Mirza Aziz Ahmad also states that he was present when the marriage of Mirza Bashir Ahmad was completed (roughly 1906), he was part of the marriage party which brought the wife of Mirza Bashir Ahmad to Qadian, Mirza Basheer ud Din Mahmud, Mir Nasir Nawab and Mir Muhammad Ishaq were also in the party. Mirza Aziz Ahmad was also present for the Waleema. He had just gained entrance into the University of the Punjab too.

His nickname during the life of MGA

MGA called him the Qamrul Anbiyaa (Moon of the Prophets) allegedly told to him directly by God. It is meant to signify that all the light of all the prophets is reflected in him.
_____________________________________________________________________________________________MGA’s death
https://ahmadiyyafactcheckblog.com/2021/09/15/the-1923-edition-of-seeratul-mahdi/

Mirza Bashir Ahmad wrote about the death of MGA 20+ years after it happened. He wrote to purposely change the narrative that MGA died of cholera, since that was the main narrative that everyone in British India knew.
_____________________________________________________________________________________________The children of Mirza Bashir Ahmad?

Ahmadiyya sources don’t really explain this at all. Nevertheless, one of his sons is the famous Mirza Muzaffar Ahmad (MM Ahmad). He was born in 1913. We have to come to find out that he had 9 children in total, 5 boys and 4 girls. There whereabouts are unknown by 2018 (see at the 4:45 mark). He doesn’t seem to have taken a second wife either.
_____________________________________________________________________________________________He had 5 sons

In 2018, a book from some Qadiani-Ahmadi’s in Canada was published entitled, “From Sialkot to Vancouver”. In this book, they claim that Mirza Bashir Ahmad entered Government College in Lahore and was a roommate of Shamshad Ali Khan (see page 112)(the future father-in-law of Zafrullah Khan). However, the source was not given.

MM Ahmad was born.
_____________________________________________________________________________________________
1914

He is named a member of the newly formed Anjuman Taraqi-e-Islam by his elder brother, the 2nd Khalifa, just a few days after the famous split.

In the ROR of June 1914, he writes an essay in the english ROR.

The ROR of Sep-1914 has an article by him entitled, “A Ceylon Missionary’s Attack on our Holy Prophet”.
_____________________________________________________________________________________________1915

His first few articles in jamaat newspapers began in April of 1915 (he was 23-24 years old) and they continued for many years. His jamaat took his essays and articles and put them into book form in 1916. The first such book was “Kalimatul Fasl” which started as a series of essays and was officially put into book form. This book focused on issues between the Lahori-Ahmadi’s and Qadiani-Ahmadi’s. Those issues included Takfir, prophethood, and whether Ahmadi’s followed the same Kalima as Muslims or not.

The ROR of Jan-1915 has a review of Ahmadiyya literature by the “Ceylon Muslim Review”. Mirza Bashir Ahmad is mentioned as having written a refutation.

The ROR of March-1915 has an article by him entitled, “Some Objections Against Islam Refuted” (Part-1).

The ROR Of May-1915 has an article by him entitled, “Some Objections Against Islam Refuted” (Part-2).

https://www.alislam.org/profile/hazrat-mirza-bashir-ahmad/

The ROR of Aug-1916 has an essay by him entitled, “Some Objections Against Islam Refuted” (Part-3).

Per Ahmadiyya sources, he graduated with M.A. in Arabic, however, he never wrote anything in Arabic in his whole life, in fact it is unclear what institution gave him a Masters of Arabic. However, this is a lie. The first time that he was listed as “M.A.” was in the November-1916 edition of the English-ROR. Before November-1916, he wrote essay’s in the ROR and was never listed as “M.A.” or “B.A.” or anything (see the Aug-1916, March and May of 1915, Sep and June of 1914 and a few others).

He wrote the famous Kalimatul Fasl, which appeared in the urdu version of the ROR in 1915, and was made into a book in 1916.

The ROR of Nov-1916 has an essay by him entitled, “The Chief Points of Difference between the Ahmadiyya Community and the Orthodox Muslims (Part-1). In this essay, he talks about the finality of prophethood.

The ROR of Dec-1916 has an essay by him entitled, “The Chief Points of Difference between the Ahmadiyya Community and the Orthodox Muslims (Part-2). In this essay, he talks about the finality of prophethood.

1917

The ROR of April-May-1917 has an essay by Mirza Bashir Ahmad entitled, “Christianity Before three torch-bearers”. He wrote another articled entitled, “The Chief Points of Difference between the Ahmadiyya Community and the Orthodox Muslims (Part-3). In this essay, he argues that Eisa (As) died in Kashmir and is Yuz Asaf. He even argued that if MGA was wrong in the assertion that Yuz Asaf=Eisa (as), it doesn’t effect his claim. 23:50 of the Quran is also quoted. He also argues that Eisa (as) lived to age 120. He has another article entitled, “The Holy Quran” (the opening sura of the Holy Quran). He has yet another article entitled, “Polygamy a necessity after The Great War”.

The ROR of June-1917 has an essay by Mirza Bashir Ahmad entitled, “The Grand Mystery Underlying the Unusual Birth of Jesus Christ”, wherein he argues that Mary never met a man before she gave birth to Jesus (as).

The ROR of July-1917 has an essay by Mirza Bashir Ahmad entitled, “The Lahore Health Officer on the Pardah System”. He wrote another articled entitled, “The Chief Points of Difference between the Ahmadiyya Community and the Orthodox Muslims (Part-4). In Part-4 he wrote about the Mahdi in Islam and even quoted Nawab Siddiq Hassan Khan and his utterances on this topic.

The ROR of Aug-1917 has an essay by Mirza Bashir Ahmad entitled, “Ahmad did lay claim to Prophethood”. In this he argues that MGA only claimed partial prophethood before 1901. He quotes “Haqiqatul Wahy” extensively,  however, he avoids the famous comment by MGA wherein he said his prophethood was just a metaphor. Mirza Bashir Ahmad is in Bombay and looking to find people to convert to Ahmadiyya.

The ROR of Oct-Nov-1917 reports that he went to Delhi with a deputation of Ahmadi’s which was led by Zafrullah Khan and the 2nd Khalifa, this was in terms of the Indian Reforms.

1918

The Jan-1918 edition of the ROR reports that he is working a newly formed Ahmadiyya Community at Qadian (during the Spanish Flu) as a secretary of general affairs. He wrote an essay in the ROR of Oct-1918 entitled, “A Short Note on the Stages in the Moral Progress of Man and the Means of Their Attainment”. In the Aug-Sep-1918 edition of the ROR, Mirza Bashir Ahmad wrote an extensive position paper on the political turmoil of 1917 and the impending Government of India Act of 1919 aka Indian Reforms. Mufti Muhammad Sadiq presented the same in the UK as reported by the Aug-Sep-1919 edition of the ROR, in his memoranda, he lied and claimed there were 700,000 Ahmadi’s in the world.
_____________________________________________________________________________________________1919

The Mar-Apr-1919 edition of the ROR contains an announcement by Maulvi Sher Ali wherein he tells the world about the new book about the “Life of Muhammad” which is being written by Mirza Bashir Ahmad.

He began writing about the life of Muhammad (saw). His articles appeared again in Ahmadiyya periodicals. Those articles were edited and turned into books. This book is now in english on the Qadiani-Ahmadi website.  Its called, “The Life of the Seal of the Prophets“. There are 3 volumes.  We are not sure how much editing was done, that still needs to be explore. However, in this era, the Mirza family was calling child marriage as normal.
_____________________________________________________________________________________________1923

He writes the first edition of ‘Seeratul-Mahdi”, in english as “The Life of the Mahdi”. Many editions come after, with heavy edits along the way. The first edition is still missing, it is said to have many controversial personal details of MGA and especially his lust for his niece, Muhammadi Begum. In the January edition of the ROR-1923, he is announced as the new editor of the ROR. Maulvi Muhammad Din (the previous editor) was sent to the USA for missionary work.

The ROR of Jan-1932 has an essay by him entitled, “The Holy Prophet’s Treatment of Slaves and his Teaching About Slavery (Part-7)(translated by Maulvi Sher Ali).

The ROR of Feb-1932 has an essay by him entitled, “The Holy Prophet’s Treatment of Slaves and his Teaching About Slavery (Part-79)(translated by Maulvi Sher Ali).

Mirza Bashir Ahmad (M.A.) is mentioned in the ROR of March-1932, the ROR quotes a newspaper (Djawah Tengah Review) from Semereng, Java (modern day Indonesia) which appreciates the work of Mirza Bashir Ahmad (editor of the Review of Religions) and the effect it is having in Europe and America.

In 1932, 500 rupees was a lot of money, the Mirza family was so rich, it was nothing. Via “Wings of Duty A Memoir” by Syed Muhammad Ahmad (nephew of MGA), a story is told how lavish and rich the 2nd Khalifa was in 1932 as he paid Ram Nath Chawla 500 rupees to bring his aeroplane to Qadian and take the 2nd Khalifa and his family for tours over Qadian and the River Beas. Ram Nath Chawla used the 500 rupees to fund his historic journey in 1934, as he flew from Karachi, India to England, solo, in a de Havilland Puss Moth (See “Wings of Duty A Memoir” by Syed Muhammad Ahmad, 2023).

Nevertheless, on Dec-30th, 1932, Ram Nath Chawla arrived in Qadian and took Mirza Sharif Ahmad, Mirza Bashir Ahmad, Mirza Basheer ud Din Mahmud, Nasira Begum and her sister Amtul Qayoom (both were daughters of the 2nd Khalifa). Children also went up, Syed Muhammad Ahmad went up and even had the chance to watch other Ahmadi’s fly the plane, Mirza Daud Ahmad and another of the 2nd Khalifa’s daughter’s Amtul Hakeem (7 years old)(See “Wings of Duty A Memoir” by Syed Muhammad Ahmad, 2023).

15 years later (1947 and during partition), the 2nd Khalifa, Mirza Basheer ud Din Mahmud Ahmad paid 5000 rupees for a L-5 airplane, Deputy Muhammad Latif helped make the deal and even brought the plane to Qadian (See “Wings of Duty A Memoir” by Syed Muhammad Ahmad, 2023).

_____________________________________________________________________________________________1940

Mirza Bashir Ahmad beefs with Muhammad Ali (lahori-ahmadi) on the topic of funeral prayers for Non-Ahmadis.

He writes a book review on A.Q. Niaz‘s book about the life of the 2nd Khalifa, “Fazl-i-Omar” (see the ROR of Feb-1940).

The ROR of Aug-1942 alleges that back in Sep-1940, the 2nd Khalifa went to Simla and stayed at the house of Zafrullah Khan. The 2nd Khalifa claims to have had a vision (roya) wherein he wasin Egypt and and a battle was in progress in Libya between the British and Italians (this is a Friday Sermon (June 26, 1942) of the 2nd Khalifa published in the Al-Fazl. The 2nd Khalifa alleges that he saw British troops getting backed down! The 2nd Khalifa then finds his younger brother (Mirza Bashir Ahmad) in the vision and told him that since they owned guns, they would be fighting the Italians independently. The 2nd Khalifa alleges that he must have opened fire on the italians and backed them up. The 2nd Khalifa then alleges that he saw the fighting going back and forth, however, in reality, this was in the newspapers and the 2nd Khalifa was doing the normal “after-the-fact” prediction that MGA did all the time too. The 2nd Khalifa says that he told Zafrullah Khan about this the very next day. The 2nd Khalifa then alleged that the firing that he and his brother (Mirza Bashir Ahmad) did meant their prayers. The 2nd Khalifa then alleges that at the 1940 Jalsa at Qadian, he related this vision to 25,000 people via one of his speeches. The 2nd Khalifa goes to say that God helped the British push back the Italian’s.

1942

He is mentioned in the ROR of June-1942 in terms of his book, “Seerat-i-Khatam un Nabiyeen” (of which 2 parts had been published).

The ROR of July-1942 tells us that in 1906, Zafrullah Khan visited Qadian with his father for the first time ever. They slept in a small room in the southern corner (facing the offices of the Baitul Mal across the street) of the building which now forms part of the house which belongs to Mirza Bashir Ahmad.

He is mentioned in the ROR of March-1944, as the 2nd Khalifa claimed to be the Musleh Maud.

Syeda Maryam died mysteriously on March 5, 1944 at Lady Wellington Hospital at Lahore (See ROR of April 1944). In the ROR of April-1944, the 2nd Khalifa claims to have had revelations back in 1931-1932 wherein he saw her on an operating table in Delhi and had died of heart failure (a total lie), this had never been published before. The 2nd Khalifa also claimed that Sheikh Bashir Ahmad (a famous Qadiani lawyer) was there (pointing to how he stayed at his house every time he came to Lahore. The 2nd Khalifa reported that his brother, Mirza Bashir Ahmad was in Lahore and he actually reported that Syedah Maryam had died of heart failure.

He is mentioned in the ROR of May-1944, in terms of the Talim ul Islam High School (and later college).

He writes that the Ahmadiyya system of Khilafat won’t last forever, he also writes that Ahmadi’s can physically kill other Ahmadi’s if that situation ever arises. He was talking about the wars between India and Pakistan and he knew that there were Ahmadi’s in heavy numbers in both military’s.

“The khilafat in the Jama‘at will not remain in its pure form forever, but will degenerate into a hereditary institution after the first four khalifas. Apparently, Mirza Bashir Ahmad drew a parallel with the history of the early khalifas of Islam, when after the first four khalifas, who were truly worthy of holding this office, the headship deteriorated into a worldly monarchy in which succession was by descent, and not by the true Islamic worth of a person.” (Translation and quotation directly to the statement of Zahid Aziz, who is a Lahori-Ahmadi top scholar).
